Hey guys!! Have taken the big step of coming of the Pill to TTC another DC. This will be DC number 2 - already have DS who is 15 months old and a DSD who is 7 years. We have spoken about another baby for a while now but it has now become more of a reality now that we have decided to stop using any contraception!! I am so so excited but know all too well about this horrible waiting game of patience which seems to get worse even after a BFP as then it's the painful wait for a 12 week scan!! (although this time I may pay for a private scan) I have had a MC before DS was born so am also aware of not getting to ahead of myself...but I'm so excited nonetheless!! I bought my friend a little present for her brand new (with tags on) baby girl and was so so broody. Cant wait for my turn now!!

Sorry for the long warbling post. This is such a hard time, the pre TTC, the waiting for BFP or BFN etc etc...I am the most impatient person in the world as it is...and to not to be able to tell anyone in RL makes it even harder!!

Hope there will be some ladies in the same boat as me!! Look forward to meeting u and sharing journeys!!

Lots of love, Pip xx

Congrats Cheeser! Yay v exciting. Well you get yourself to the midwife for a booking in appointment and try to figure out a due date. Yippee!

Cheeser · 09/11/2011 13:16

Ok I've just done a digi one - pregnant!!!

I can't believe it. We only SWI'd once Blush

That means I didn't have a period after coming off the pill, does that make it harder to date?! Agghh!! Never been pregnant before, no idea what I'm meant to do now!

Goldenbrown, I feel the same as you! On month 5 now and I know it's not long but I don't think I anticipated how hard the ttc would be! I'm so impatient and I feel like everyday in counting something! (ie days to ovulation, days to period etc...) I'm sure everyone I know is pregnant also!! Oh well, I have my fingers crossed for everyone!! Xxx

MakeTeaNotWar · 09/11/2011 10:05

Please add me to the list? AF Nov 5, SWI very soon!

Morning everyone. I did a test this morning. I think it's positive. However, like an idiot, I can't find the leaflet with what the symbols mean Blush

It was a Boots first response and it has a cross in the first window and a vertical line in the other (test?) window.

Like this:

I have spotted though that the test is out of date, it has 2010-12 stamped on wrapper

I showed dp This morn, he said there's no point thinking about it till we are sure. So buying some digitals today.

I feel all funny! Dp and I had a chat last night about ttc and we decided to hold fire until after the wedding. Now it looks like I might be pregnant. We also thought cos my fixed term contract ends in July it'd be best to get pg when I have a job to go back to Confused Grin

I know it doesn't matter what I say but I really did not expect a positive this month for so many reasons. Maybe the trick is not to expect it? Thats why I thought maybe I shouldn't stay on the thread. Sad

Do you have OPK's CUP? Im not sure I would be able to resist, knowing they are in the cupboard.

CupOfBrownJoy · 08/11/2011 20:16

I'm CD4 today so onwards and upwards. I think I've decided not to opk this month after all. I only see DP Friday to Monday anyway so all the opk's in the world won't really change the frequency with which we swi.

I'm going round and round in circles with this at the moment, can you tell? Grin

kirrinIsland · 08/11/2011 19:41

Know how you feel cup - the 2ww has never felt so long. I see all these bfp people making it look so easy and think it should just be a matter of doing a test and getting a bfp of my own! Don't think this will be my month though....

cheeser can't hurt to do a test, if only to stop you worrying about it. As far as I know, brown blood is old blood, but that doesn't really help explain what's going on does it! [no help whatsoever emoticon]

CupOfBrownJoy · 08/11/2011 16:42

I don't know Cheeser, but I can just say that my experience was my withdrawal bleed was just regular AF, didn't notice any different.

I must try harder this month! I'm feeling like a part timer next to all you graduates... I haven't even ever POAS yet!! Grin

Cheeser · 08/11/2011 16:32

hi everyone. Sorry I've not been on here much. I do go on the FB page as that's easier to get on at work without it being obvious!

Congrats on all who've had a BFP!!! That's three so far? In the first month!? amazing!! Very very envious and so happy for you all!

I wanted to ask everyone's opinion on something. Although 'AF' did arrive, I'm not convinced it was the real thing. it was very, very light and I'd have expected the first month off the pill it would have been a bit heavier, closer to my 'normal' (off pill) kind of flow. It was v v light and (TMI) only light brown. One small speck of bright red then brown for the rest of the time. Lasted for about 3 days I think so it's gone now.

BUT I still have ridiculously sore boobs and I'm tempted to do a test tomorrow morning? Has anyone ever had an implantation bleed that lasted that long/sounded like that? I feel almost embarassed asking cos it's so unlikely to be the case - as I was looking back over my iphone app Blush and we actually only did it once over the whole month! but it was around what I think was ovulation.

What do you all think? I have a test kicking around in my knicker drawer, i could do it tomorrow am... but don't want to waste it if you think that was just a normal-ish 'first month off pill' period.

How are you all today?

I'm having a good start to my day off - 13 hours of sleep Grin my body really seemed to need it. Took a CB digital today and sure enough "pregnant"! All starting to seem real but don't feel anything different except lots of weeing. Got an appointment to confirm next week!

Now starts the telling family - after such a negative response form aunt not really looking forward to it, but I think the earlier they know, the earlier they can get over it and be happy sooner iyswim?

Got lots of things to do today - laundry, pet food store, grocery, going to see grandma in hosp again.

What's everyone else up to?

Hattifattener28 · 08/11/2011 13:01

I have way too much time on my hands today. Obessive TTC Googling has led me to believe that Lily of the Valley scent attracts sperm. Apparently Stephen Fry said it on QI and who doesn't believe the lovely Mr Fry?

Now seriously contemplating putting lily of the valley scent in my undercracker draw. On the flip side that might make the little swimmers go in the wrong direction. Plus there's the risk that me smelling like an old lady may put the kibosh on any SWI if DH gets a whiff of it, it's not exactly the smell of love!

3isamagicnumber · 08/11/2011 12:54

Afternoon all! Ok, so I woke up in the night feeling sick and have felt nauseas all day so far... Period style stomach cramps started today too - just hoping all this is pregnancy related and not just rubbish old AF!!
Fingers & toes crossed please!! Smile

MakeTeaNotWar · 08/11/2011 12:01

Morning! I'm taking folic acid, Boots own brand. Chilli Peppers were fantastic last night, brought me back to when I was a young whippersnapper (I am an ancient 35 now)

MinkyMoodles · 08/11/2011 11:49

Morning Ladies!

Hattie I'm taking the Pregnacare Conception ones, they were/are on offer in Tescos, 3 for 2 I think!

Any gossip? Rather boring here :(

MMxx

Hattifattener28 · 08/11/2011 11:37

Thanks Yorkshire, that sounds good.

I'm off work today and using the time to obsess about what supplements to take.

I just know this time around I'm going to be obsessing about everything, oh joy! Time to go get that zinc and follic acid and give the Googling a break me thinks.

YorkshireTeaAddict · 08/11/2011 11:05

Hi Hatti I am bored, let's play!!! Right, vitamins...I am taking follic acid and zinc and DH is also taking zinc :)

Hattifattener28 · 08/11/2011 10:48

MakeTea, I?m soooooo jealous! I love the Chillis, hope the gig was great.

Quick question, are people taking vitamins? If so, what are you taking? I got zinc for DH yesterday but still need to get vits for me. Not sure whether to go for prenatal vitamins, there are some especially for conception, or just folic acid. Any suggestions?
