Hey guys!! Have taken the big step of coming of the Pill to TTC another DC. This will be DC number 2 - already have DS who is 15 months old and a DSD who is 7 years. We have spoken about another baby for a while now but it has now become more of a reality now that we have decided to stop using any contraception!! I am so so excited but know all too well about this horrible waiting game of patience which seems to get worse even after a BFP as then it's the painful wait for a 12 week scan!! (although this time I may pay for a private scan) I have had a MC before DS was born so am also aware of not getting to ahead of myself...but I'm so excited nonetheless!! I bought my friend a little present for her brand new (with tags on) baby girl and was so so broody. Cant wait for my turn now!!

Sorry for the long warbling post. This is such a hard time, the pre TTC, the waiting for BFP or BFN etc etc...I am the most impatient person in the world as it is...and to not to be able to tell anyone in RL makes it even harder!!

Hope there will be some ladies in the same boat as me!! Look forward to meeting u and sharing journeys!!

Lots of love, Pip xx

cherry :( sorry to hear that. Think my af will be here in a couple of days too. Nevermind, perhaps next month will be our turn...

minky encouraging people to poas? Me? [wide-eyed innocent emoticon] I never would, especially as I myself would never dream of testing early!
Oop north is Wirral, were I was born and raised - love it, would move back there tomorrow but not really possible at the moment. Maybe one day.......

Your Christmas plans sound nice :)

cherrypiew3 · 10/11/2011 09:39

Well have had AF type cramps so thinking she is going to turn up early and spoil my fun of thinking I could be pg.

I have started christmas shopping but most of it I have done online.

MinkyMoodles · 10/11/2011 08:39

Kirrin are you persuading/encouraging thinking that i'll be ok to POAS at the weekend?Wink
Don't think I could hold out much longer!

Sorry to hear it'll be your first Christmas without your Mum :(

Where's "op North"?

Looks like we're having Christmas here with the Out Laws, my mum & her DP and my bestie, besties hubby and two DDs. Think their DDs will make it totally different for us Grin they believe in Santa still (cute)!!

kirrinIsland · 10/11/2011 07:19

minky that all sounds quite promising :)

I would be ss'ing like mad but there really are no symptoms to spot. I'll probably still test on Sunday though, because I have tests so why not Grin

I'm heading back oop north for Christmas - big family time. Usually love it but this will be the first year without Mum so we'll have to see how that goes :(
Haven't started Christmas shopping yet - but I do have a list, so I guess that's a start .....

MinkyMoodles · 10/11/2011 00:50

Fish got my smilie early evening Friday, I followed distructions to POAS after holding onto wee for 4 hours! I'm just desperate to open a box and POAS! I think it's highly unlikely to be a BFP as I only came off the pill 4 weeks ago, but here's hoping!

The only thing I'm struggling with is this feeling sick but Sparkle mentioned she'd been to he docs with similar and it was hormones, I think.

Do you think POAS could become an addiction? I have an addictive personality!! Confused

Wow, Christmas shopping sound crazy & stressful! I think I'll stick to online shopping!

Is there any more news about Grandma? I hope things go well, it must be tough :(

So, do you get much snow? Last Novmber we got loads, 6ft drifts in the lane, it was a bit mad, but beautiful!

Fishpond · 09/11/2011 23:47

Minky It depends what time you got your smilie face I guess, it could have been super early on Sunday if you got it late in the day on Friday.

At 6dpo, I definitely felt lots of implantation cramps - they didn't feel like AF cramps though, they were like nothing I've ever had, they felt sort of like tugging / pulling sensations in my lower abdomen. They lasted on and off for about 36 hours and I noticed them more when I was laying in bed going to sleep.

I'm just lettin ya know what worked for me, but you could have a positive POAS before in theory - I just know it's impossible to get one before 7DPO as you have to wait for implantation and HCG build up.

I will go Christmas shopping the day after Thanksgiving!! That's Friday the 25th - it's called Black Friday because everyone here in America goes insane Grin The deals are ridiculous - you can get stuff for 75-80% off retail, stores open at 1 or 2am, there are literally people running and fighting over items. I'm enlisting my 15-year-old sister to help this year in case I need to get 2 things from opposite ends of the store. I will take some photos as evidence to show you all how mad we are Grin

Christmas will probably be a toned down affair - with my Grandma still in hospital (likely to need surgery within a week or two, then followed by more chemo) she will be quite weak / in recovery / possibly still doing chemotherapy so she'll need quiet. It will be her, my auntie, twin niece & nephew, sister and senile grandad. Not many presents as the economy is crazy but I love Christmastime, I can't wait for the music and the snow and the hot custard mmmmm.

MinkyMoodles · 09/11/2011 23:25

Fish pooh, I was thinking I could POAS this Saturday as I figured AF is 16th or 17th and First Responce says it can sometimes pick up 6 days before AF :(
I've got to wait until Monday :( So your cramps were 6DPO? Is it a deffo I ov'd Saturday? Or could it be Sunday?
I have felt so sick since last Thursday, I'm assuming it's hormones but each day it's getting worse, not actually being sick just that gippy feeling! And the crying, well I'm a wreck!!

Kirrin thought I'd get myself organised, first time in my life, but I couldn't cope with having to go any buy tests as and when, we live in the sticks, it would drive me mad. So First Responce first? I guess I'll use Clearblue as confirmation!

Did anyone watch, earlier this year, Inside The Human Body - Sperm Meets Egg? Bloody fascinating now we're TTC. I made DP download it for me to watch again!

So who's started Christmas shopping then?

What's everyone doing for Christmas?

MM xx

secret I used the CBFM last time and really liked it - there's no confusion and it tells you when you are getting more fertile, and then when you ov, so you know the best days to try. I wish I still had mine but I lent it to a friend who's been trying for quite a while so I figure she needs it more.
I have just bought a persona monitor off eBay, which is the same idea but probably not as good - I only paid a tenner for it though so worth a try. It's actually designed as a contraceptive for people who don't mind contraceptive failures but works by telling you your more fertile days so you know when to avoid (or swi, in this case :) )
I can poas on Sunday. I'm telling myself that I won't unless af is actually late, but I have tests in the house so we'll see how long my resolve lasts :)

minky save the clear blues, the first response ones are usually pretty good for an early result though.

Fishpond · 09/11/2011 22:43

Minky - I POAS at 8dpo with First Response and it was a clear negative, not any shadow of a line. Then my BFP was at 9dpo with the First Response - definitely a line. I waited one more day until 10dpo to take the clearblue digital as I know they are not as sensitive, but at 10 days past I got a positive! Implantation occurs between days 6-10 usually, I felt what I can now identify as implantation cramps all day on day 6. Then it takes a few more days to produce the HCG identifiable in a test.

So I'd say if your smilie OPK was on Friday, then you would have OV'ed on the Saturday, and you would be 8 days past next Monday, the 14. (Sorry I know you can work this out for yourself, it just fascinates me that you are exactly one week behind me Grin and I'm a bit OCD).

So theoretically you could get a positive next Monday! How exciting.

cherrypiew3 · 09/11/2011 22:33

Minky I am going to wait and see if AF flow turns up. In the past I have had to wait until AF was 3 weeks late before I got a positive on a test so don't think it would do me much good to test early. If I had a test in the house though I would be very very tempted.

MinkyMoodles · 09/11/2011 21:43

Cherry I am gagging to POAS!! I'm missing the POAS OPKs!! Last OPK was last Friday, big smilie, so, do I test early or do I wait!?
What are going to do?
I've got 2 First Response & 2 Clearblue digital ready & waiting, keen or what?

MinkyMoodles · 09/11/2011 21:39

Yorshire think Yasim is the normal combination pill, where as the one I was on was constant pill take, mini pill, which only contains one hormone apposed to two! Have you been on it long? I'd imagine you'd need to make sure your cycles are regular, I only say that as a friend was on similar and 4 months later her AF is all over the place! Not saying yours would be though.
I'll have a look see on google, see if there's any info for you xxx

forgot to say Yorkshire your pill sounds very similar to what mine was like.

cherrypiew3 · 09/11/2011 20:35

Hi

Cheeser Congratulations on you BFP.

Minky Are you going to test early or are you going to hold out and wait to see if AF turns up.

YorkshireTeaAddict · 09/11/2011 20:18

Minky I have no idea what kind of pill it was!! Can you help? It is called Yasmin and there were 21 pills in a packet (3 weeks) then I would have a week of no pills and then start a new pack 7 days later...

Fishpond · 09/11/2011 20:13

I agree I'd try the normal OPK's before spending too much on the CB monitor. It took me 20 days but I did get a positive, bit obviously the positive was correct Smile

Yorkshire I shouldn't have joined this thread really as I've never taken a pill Grin so I'm absolutely no help whatsoever sorry!!

MinkyMoodles · 09/11/2011 20:05

Evening Ladies,

Sparkle this is my first cycle and after AF I started using Clear Blue OPK, just the one where you shove a new test stick in each day, I started CD6 and CD16 I had a smilie face. It was on Amazon around £27, cheapest I could fine 20 tests. Maybe worth a go before forking out on the big daddy?

I'm CD21 so waiting until the weekend to check.

Yorkshire which pill were you on? Is was on Noriday and AF turned up exactly on time but I know POP is different!

YorkshireTeaAddict · 09/11/2011 19:32

Hi Peeps! It feels like I haven't been on here for aghes! How are you all?

Congratulations Cheeser!!

I have a question! I took my last pill on the 23rd October (SUNDAY) and had my withdrawal bleed on the Thursday. My (sorry if TMI) CM has been changing a fair bit over the last two weeks and recently I have felt kinda odd...hard to describe. Yesterday, I went to the loo and there was what seemed like EWCM but had a tiny spot of blood in it. A) Does that mean anything or is it just one of those things? And B) Is it possible that as it's my first month off the pill I could OV at any time?

So sorry it I'm not making sense! FYI, I had my normal week off the pill and had a bleed just a week before we made the decision for me to come off the pill. So when I came off I had only taken 8 pills...iyswim?!?!?!?

Help!!

Fishpond · 09/11/2011 18:24

Just think though Cheeser - you'll be all in the healthy glow stage where your hair and nails and skin are all shiny - lovely wedding material Smile

Cheeser · 09/11/2011 18:22

Thanks MTNW and Kirrin! Exciting.

Felt a bit odd all day, maybe now i am more aware of stuff. Like tugging in my tummy, I've had a bit of a cough and when I cough too hard it twinges so I've been doing dainty lady coughs! Can't believe it. I honestly thought it would take a good few months (even when we were actually trying).

Now the question is, do we bring forward the wedding or go ahead when I'll be 6-7 months pregnant? Assuming all goes to plan, of course. I really wants to look nice on the day and I haven't even considered maternity wedding dresses...

kirrinIsland · 09/11/2011 16:02

Congratulations cheeser that's great news.
Don't worry about dates, worse comes to the worst they'll send you for a scan

fish sorry if I made you feel you should leave the thread - I really didn't mean it like that. I just meant it's fab to have so many graduates already :)
