Hey guys!! Have taken the big step of coming of the Pill to TTC another DC. This will be DC number 2 - already have DS who is 15 months old and a DSD who is 7 years. We have spoken about another baby for a while now but it has now become more of a reality now that we have decided to stop using any contraception!! I am so so excited but know all too well about this horrible waiting game of patience which seems to get worse even after a BFP as then it's the painful wait for a 12 week scan!! (although this time I may pay for a private scan) I have had a MC before DS was born so am also aware of not getting to ahead of myself...but I'm so excited nonetheless!! I bought my friend a little present for her brand new (with tags on) baby girl and was so so broody. Cant wait for my turn now!!

Sorry for the long warbling post. This is such a hard time, the pre TTC, the waiting for BFP or BFN etc etc...I am the most impatient person in the world as it is...and to not to be able to tell anyone in RL makes it even harder!!

Hope there will be some ladies in the same boat as me!! Look forward to meeting u and sharing journeys!!

Lots of love, Pip xx

It's a bleddy rollercoaster I tell you!! Grin

Cauldron - the urine dip for a uti doesn't look for pregnancy. It looks for protein, ketones and nitrates (signs of a uti!). She would have had to do a seperate pregnancy test but I think it would be too early for that?

CauldronOfBrownJoy · 26/10/2011 17:04

thanks fish and wannabe...

Boo, that urine test has taken all the fun out of the 2ww now Sad

wannabemum24 · 26/10/2011 17:00

Cauldron, try here www.babyhopes.com/articles/chemical-pregnancy.html

Honestly, I would have thought that she would have been able to tell. Unless she wasn't looking for it? If you are looking for something specific then maybe not. But I thought that all the different colours on the stick meant different things. I wish I knew a doctor to ask!

Fishpants · 26/10/2011 16:59

A chemical pregnancy is a super early miscarriage, resulting in an AF that is just a couple of days late. It might even show up as a positive on a pg test, but then 'disappear' a day or two later. Sad

CauldronOfBrownJoy · 26/10/2011 16:55

God this all sounds mega confusing Confused

I have another question - what is a chemical pregnancy?

and

I know I'm obsessing over this but would the doctor have told me this morning when she tested my urine if I was pg? Would she have known?

Ta ladies Smile

Fishpants · 26/10/2011 16:43

Actually for ovulation tests it's different - LH is supposed to rise over the course of the day so they generally recommend testing in the afternoon/evening. That's why I'm so confused!

wannabemum24 · 26/10/2011 16:38

A massage makes a difference? How interesting Hmm

Fish, is it not true that morning urine has the highest doses of the stuff that tells if you are pg/ov? Surely that could be why? Your urine may have been too diluted...?

Vinolover · 26/10/2011 15:54

Could your urine have been more diluted last night? That could have something to do with it. I invested in the CB one as there was no mistaking the smiley face :)

Im not 100% sure when I O'd... Im thinking it was monday so it's too early for it to be implatation :(
I also read that when you have a massage it can affect the fetus from implanting into the womb, so that's me well and truely messed up for this month!
Pains have subsided now so it could just be one of those things that I have noticed a hell of a lot more because im obsessed!

Fishpants · 26/10/2011 15:44

Well, see, the darkest line I've had on them was yesterday morning at 9. The test line wasn't quite as dark as the control line, though. And they say that it has to be just as dark or darker to be a 'positive'. So I tested again last night, when LH is supposed to rise and it was fainter than it had been that morning. So I assumed I had already ovulated.

Then just now, the test line was darker than the one from last night, but not as dark as the one from yesterday morning. Sorry this is all sounding very confusing!! I wish I could somehow show a picture of the 3 tests and ask what you all think?!

wannabemum24 · 26/10/2011 15:39

Ha! That's brilliant. Fishpants to me insinuated something totally different :p

A darker line? That's a bit odd. So, with these OPK's, do you use them at the time you think you are ovulating? What is implantation? Sorry...more questions [blus]

Fishpants · 26/10/2011 15:33

wanna My 3-year-old nephew calls himself Fishpants McGee. He is brilliant. [hgrin]

Well now I'm thoroughly confused. Just did another OPK and it's not quite as dark as yesterday's but much darker than last night's?? Confused Confused

WTF is going on?!

CauldronOfBrownJoy · 26/10/2011 15:27

ooh Vino I think that sounds really positive!!!

wannabemum24 · 26/10/2011 15:14

PTL Fish! My fishy american friend! seriously, why fishpants though?

Fishpants · 26/10/2011 15:00

wanna I am also 24! Let's smack tell the naysayers off together [hgrin]

wannabemum24 · 26/10/2011 14:59

Welcome Secret!! I am in similar boat to you :) been on pill for yonks, trying not to get pregnant and now it is a total reversal! I am 24 and people keep telling me I am too young so I just glare at them and tell them to piss off. All the best to you and your DH :)

Fishpants · 26/10/2011 14:59

Vino could be implantation? Has it been 3-5 days since you O'ed?

wannabemum24 · 26/10/2011 14:57

Fish, I think in the UK you get assigned someone as it is free and as far as they are concerned you should be thanking your lucky stars for whoever you get given! However, people can chose to go privately where you can chose. All this coming from a novice!!

Vinolover · 26/10/2011 14:55

Im so sorry pinsent. You really must feel gutted :( I really hope things are more stable asap!

Quick O question. I know by now I have O'd but today and yesterday I have been getting horrible cramps and I also had a spot (a tiny spot) of bloodd and a sharp pain in my womb area. Anybody else get this?

Fishpants · 26/10/2011 14:33

Pinsent So sorry to hear you won't be with us for awhile Sad but I may still be around trying in April at this rate. Stupid OPK's. About to use another one here in another hour as then it will have been 24 hours since my positive one. If it's definitely negative, then I won't bother trying to AI again tonight as egg will have been released and died already Sad Sad

Oh...and I so thought I had gotten timing just right. Angry

Cauldron LOL at your doctor!! I want a doctor like that Grin

Not sure if it works this way in the UK (I don't remember much about / never dealt with NHS) but over here I have to pick a paediatrician once DC is here. I wonder how early I'm meant to do that, and how I'm meant to choose? Confused I also have to choose an OB/GYN, I don't even know where to start. Gah.

wannabemum24 · 26/10/2011 12:55

Oh, I got the Follic Acid and the Zinc tablets today :D

wannabemum24 · 26/10/2011 12:46

Omygosh Cauldron that is hysterical!!

CauldronOfBrownJoy · 26/10/2011 12:43

oh god wannabe I've had some random conversations with the doctor about this too! One recommended that DP and I only had sex doggy style (he actually said "doggy style" Blush). Very romantic!!
