Hey guys!! Have taken the big step of coming of the Pill to TTC another DC. This will be DC number 2 - already have DS who is 15 months old and a DSD who is 7 years. We have spoken about another baby for a while now but it has now become more of a reality now that we have decided to stop using any contraception!! I am so so excited but know all too well about this horrible waiting game of patience which seems to get worse even after a BFP as then it's the painful wait for a 12 week scan!! (although this time I may pay for a private scan) I have had a MC before DS was born so am also aware of not getting to ahead of myself...but I'm so excited nonetheless!! I bought my friend a little present for her brand new (with tags on) baby girl and was so so broody. Cant wait for my turn now!!

Sorry for the long warbling post. This is such a hard time, the pre TTC, the waiting for BFP or BFN etc etc...I am the most impatient person in the world as it is...and to not to be able to tell anyone in RL makes it even harder!!

Hope there will be some ladies in the same boat as me!! Look forward to meeting u and sharing journeys!!

Lots of love, Pip xx

Minky I am always wondering if we are doing the right thing TTC we seem to have so much going on at the moment.

Wannabe I am struggling with the ovulation part of things think that I ovulated yesterday so dtd. Now I am confused about how to work out when the 2ww starts and am I right in thinking that when you are in the 2ww you can not get pg.Confused I am on my first cycle and not using opks i don't know much about them. So I could d with someone explaining the whole thing to me also.

Sarah5656 · 30/10/2011 09:33

Tequila sorry to hear that Sad
But try and keep positive that AF hasn't arrived. Some people don't have a BFP till quite a few days after AF was meant to arrive.

wannabemum24 · 30/10/2011 09:26

Oh Tequila, sorry to hear that :( Have a snickers!

Tequilamockinbat · 30/10/2011 09:20

BFN here too Sad

wannabemum24 · 30/10/2011 09:20

Aye up :) Feeling a bit crap this morning :(

Can someone try to explain ovulation to me? I know it's an odd request, but I'd like to know more about OPKs and how they work? Fish, you seem to know these things???

MinkyMoodles · 30/10/2011 09:17

Morning all,

Thanks for replying Vino We're a both a bit 'fly by the seat of your pants' unorganised people, so having a child or two would add to the mayhem we live in and I'm not sure that's how you should bring up a child! I had quite a strict upbringing, boarding school, my dad left when I was about 13, so these things all put me off.

DP would like to get married I just think he's too scared as I've never wanted to get married and made it quite clear. I couldn't cope with the whole big White wedding malarchy!

Sarah sorry for the BFN

MM xx

Sarah Sad Hoping the next time you POAS it's positive hun.

kirrin I thought I should have OV'ed surely by CD17, but it wasn't until CD19 I got a positive, so I O'ed on Day 20! I was taking them morning and afternoon as I was so obsessed that I'd miss it. I had nearly given up and was going to count an 'almost as dark line' as a positive on CD16, I'm glad my crazy half kept on testing or I'd have missed it and wouldn't have gone for that last AI on Friday.

I didn't restrict what I drank but I did keep a minimum of 4 hours between tests. I don't drink a terrible lot of liquids anyway though so if you have super clear wee (TMI?) then I'd say maybe restrict it for a bit. I had better luck with SMU than FMU too, I think because they say that LH actually builds up over the course of the morning rather than HCG on a pregnancy test.

Tequila Fingers crossed!!!!!! I'm super excited for you and shall POAS vicariously through you Grin

I'm not feeling well this morning, just woke up and a bit nauseous. Blah. Wouldn't be from any pregnancy though as would have only fertilized yesterday. Sadness. Just sick and hate being sick! Got a 12-hour shift on Halloween tomorrow, midnight to noon - not looking forward to it, especially if sick!!!

Vino How are you feeling, hun? Any more cramps?

Wanna and Cauldron how are you lovely drunkies this morning? Hangovers all 'round? [hgrin]

Vinolover · 30/10/2011 07:59

I'm so sorry Sarah. Don't lose faith in it just yet.

Having doubts is perfectly normal Minky. I still have them now but deep down I know it's what I desperately want. Try and imagine how you will feel when you know you've succeeded in getting pregnant. If you are struggling still then you should really take time to think and talk it over. Does your dp not want to get married?

Sarah5656 · 30/10/2011 07:44

BFN Sad

MinkyMoodles · 29/10/2011 23:54

Evening all,
Just a thought and it may be a bit of the vodka talking, but I'm wondering if I'm doing the right thing, TTC! Does anyone else think like this?
It's always been a no no for me, something I've not been interested in, a bit like marriage. The one thing I promised myself, if I ever had kids I would get married first, but again, that's not on the cards.
I'm now questioning why? Maybe an age thing?
I'm not the maternal type although OH disagrees as I treat the dogs like babies!
MMx

Sarah5656 · 29/10/2011 22:37

Good luck Tequila, keeping my fingers tightly crossed for you Smile

My DH is doing an early morning run to the 24 hr pharmacy to get another test so I can do my first morning wee on it Wink. Am hoping the line might be darker to stop me thinking I imagined it earlier today. Hoping we too have a nice BFP Smile

kirrinIsland · 29/10/2011 22:20

Fingers crossed tequila sleep well :)

sarah Poppy is lovely

Tequilamockinbat · 29/10/2011 22:15

I'm off to bed ladies, no AF still so will be POAS in the morning.

Please keep your fingers crossed x

cherrypiew3 · 29/10/2011 22:13

Clandy I have an AdamGrin

I really like the name Dakota dh is not sure and Linden for a boy.

However none of these names flow with the names of my other dc.

Sarah5656 · 29/10/2011 22:09

Ooo names. For a girl we have Poppy Isabelle and for a boy Leo Joseph but these could change! Smile

kirrinIsland · 29/10/2011 21:52

wow sarah that's really exciting Grin A line is a line...

I could name a girl 100 times over but really struggle with boys names - I like Simon and Duncan but DP doesn't so no luck there. My favourite ever is Rory but it just doesn't work with DP's surname. for girls, I like Erica and Simone.

fishkiss as the proud owner of 2 lines I'm going to consider you the OPK queen Smile - did you test several times a day? and did you restrict how much you drank before you did the test? and, did you get ewcm before you got a positive or before? and why haven't I had a positive yet?! I'm sure i should have ov'd by now.

Clandy · 29/10/2011 21:26

Oh ps I have tried a few posts today and that was the first that actually sent so I have tried to be involved Grin

Clandy · 29/10/2011 21:25

Oh my goodness vino it's so much harder when you have one already!! I love Adam for a boy and DD is Evie... Sad also names ending in ie are questionable as some sound silly!!

Anyway, dd rubbed my belly today.... Maybe she is like one of those dogs that can sniff it.... Grin and I am infact pg not just having a 60 + day cycle!!! (continues dreaming)

Vinolover · 29/10/2011 20:36

Isaiah is a gorgeous name! Wow, may have to have a chat about that one... Im trying to think of names that go with the names of my DC. Gets difficult when you have two already.

Really weird but they keep asking (completely out of the blue) if we are going to have another baby. It's amazing how knowing children can be!

Fishkiss · 29/10/2011 20:30

Vino I really like all of those!! We seem to have the same tastes. My grandmother's dad's middle name was Isaiah - I really love it but it's number 45 in popularity and I've always said I'll use a name outside the Top 100 (there's my weirdness kicking in again)...I think it comes from being one of a million of my name everywhere I go.

My sister has a Macey though so I couldn't use that one.

I have 2 girls names that I go between constantly, and I agree girls are much easier than boys! Helps that both of my girl choices are not even in the Top 1,000 on the popularity list [hwink]

Vinolover · 29/10/2011 20:25

It's not just me who is thinking of names then Wink
For a boy I love Levi (DH is thinking about it). For a girl I love Eliza Mae, or Lola or Maisie. I find girls names MUCH easier than boys!

DH is really sure it hasn't happened this month so I suppose it's rubbing off on me. It's only cycle 1 so it's early days.

Don't you worry about talking about O'ing :). Who else can you talk to? We're all in this together! X

Tequilamockinbat · 29/10/2011 20:25

Sorry fish but I know nothing at all about ovulating (which could be why I haven't had a BFP yet Grin)

Re names, I will definitely need inspiration. I keep winding DH up though that I like names such as Walter and Barbera Wink

Fishkiss · 29/10/2011 20:18

Ah I see - don't count yourself out yet - could be implantation cramps?!

My OPK was negative so definitely ovulated this morning. Didn't feel any sharp twinges though apart from 2 days ago? Confused now just sort of a dull, full feeling in abdomen.

Sorry I am fully aware I've harped on about ovulating for the last week GrinBlush

Does anyone want to share any fantasy names they've been thinking of? I have my girl name all set but need inspiration for boys! Smile

Vinolover · 29/10/2011 20:06

Ooooh good luck fish... I hope lifting doesn't harm anything as I have to do quite a bit of lifting and moving furniture around too. Im pretty sure it doesnt, just take it as easy as you can.

3 Weeks and I should be O'ing again :) Have got DH some wellman vits that came today so he can start them tomorrow. I have had awful cramping again today so I think AF may make an early appearance. Hey ho.

Fishkiss · 29/10/2011 19:53

Vino what's in 3 weeks? cauldron I felt like an OPK failure until yesterday morning! About to POAS again to make sure it's gone so I can officially count today as O-day. I've never pinpointed it before so this is a first for me.

On a side note - I've had to do lots of lifting at work today, would that harm potential zygote??
