1, being unable to book next years holidays, as we don't know if i'll be pg or even have a baby by then

2, not being able to fully commit to starting out on certain things in case you can't cary on

3, waiting for your period

I find Facebook really hard at the moment, especially when people use scan photos as profile pics. I hate myself for being jealous but 13 months in I just can't help it. I agree that hearing people say they fell pg by accident is also very hard to hear.

I hate the sense of failure I feel every time I get a bfn. Not being managing to do something we are biologically programmed to do is hard to accept. It makes me feel helpless which I can't stand.

I hate the was sex becomes so regimented - maybe the rest of you are better at dealing with this than I am but my sex life is totally dictated by my clear blue fertility monitor.

Finally I find it frustrating if you do decide to confide in someone that you're ttc (only a handful of people in my life know) and they wink and say what fun it must be. It really isn't!!

I totally get to spilled wee and getting through hundreds of colic acid comments too!!

Sorry for ranting. I'm particularly stressed today because my period is 3 days late and when I did a test on Tuesday it was negative so I'm not sure what's wrong with me Sad

headfairy · 29/09/2011 20:24

We're going to St Lucia in Jan, but that's a freebie :o

Bearcrumble · 29/09/2011 20:05

Oh yes yes I couldn't help hating pregnant women, especially the ones with the London Transport 'baby on board' badges.

carriedababi · 29/09/2011 20:00

oh i see headfairy
Grin
i know a few people that took a while to get pg with number one, then fell quickly with the following ones

I can add - Developing an almost pavlovian response to seeing a pregnant women in the street (ie complete strangers) whereby I think to myself 'bitch' - all because she's pg and I'm not. Ridiculous!

headfairy · 29/09/2011 19:48

No, sadly. Not allowed any more :(

Oh and I'm ancient :o

I'm one of those irritating people who spent 18 months ttc #1 (spending a lot of time on these boards in that time :o) and then after ds was born i got pg three times in a row taking only one month each time!

carriedababi · 29/09/2011 19:35

headfairy are you ttc atm?

OP posts:
carriedababi · 29/09/2011 19:34

oh yeah and its the not actually knowing if it will ever happen that drives me mad,i jsut want to know

oh thought oif another,,,getting through a whiole tub of folic acid, still not pg, then realising you need to buy another 90 tab tub!

whereismywine, I'm glad you don't feel patronised :) When I got to a year I started all the usual tests, I'd had a HSG a couple of months before I got pg. I don't know if that helped. The nurse at the time said they'd had a bit of a problem getting the dye in, but the tubes looked clear so that perhaps they'd cleared away a little blockage of mucus or something. I absolutely hated doing all those tests. Sitting in the waiting room of the fertility unit of the hospital was so horrible. Luckily no pregnant women nearby for me to hate.

GeeinItLaldy · 29/09/2011 19:00

I've booked 2 holidays for next year...one 6 months from now and one in 8 months time. If fate is indeed the cunt that I suspect it is, then I should be guaranteed to be pg and we'll have to cancel and lose a small fortune.

whereismywine · 29/09/2011 18:57

headfairy not patronising, it means a lot to hear of people that get there in the end! I think once you hit the year mark it starts to feel worrying and bleak. So nice to know that some people just take a bit longer.

headfairy · 29/09/2011 18:54

This is really sad :(. I know it's really patronising and you probably want to tell me to fuck off, but I really do feel for anyone ttc. I know you probably don't want to hear another story, but I wept the day my friend told me she was pg with her third. I'd been ttc for 18 months and af had just arrived yet again. My pregnancy with ds was dated from that date because it was the last period I had for nearly 2 years!

headfairy · 29/09/2011 18:51

florin I did go skiing in the end, we pushed it back a bit so I was past the first trimester, and I knocked the heli bit on the head. I was 15 weeks pg and spent most of the time drinking hot chocolate in various sunny ski bars :o

mistlethrush · 29/09/2011 18:49

Bearcrumble - I think resigning was the deciding factor - either that or having the date set to start IVF during the next cycle.

Bearcrumble · 29/09/2011 18:33

We tried for 2 years - like poster above, finally got pregnant during notice period after resigning from work.

whereismywine · 29/09/2011 18:28

Ok, 11 months in and nothing to show for it.. I add to the list,

Not being able to see if there is a shadow of a line on crummy tesco test, prising it open only to splash my own wee in my face.

Not knowing if it will ever happen.

Awaiting my period. Which, in spite of teasing, always comes.

Finding out that friends are pregnant and it was an 'accident'. Finding out friends are pregnant after trying for ages and still feeling jealous and then feeling ashamed at said jealously.

Waiting in the queue at fertility unit in-between heavily pregnant beaming couples.

Not being able to jump up after shagging and go for a wee.

Feeling guilty about wine consumption.

Hating the pregnant woman on the folic acid tub.

Telling people and the wishing I hadn't.

People asking 'so when are you planning to have kids?'

I could go on for pages. I'm sure that when the day comes, it will all fade into a distant memory. I never thought it would be this hard tho. Comfort from folks who got there in the end much appreciated!

Florin · 29/09/2011 18:25

I think the heli skiing wins it that really made me laugh! If there is one thing you really shouldn't do pregnant that is it! I really want to go skiing this year put it off last year because we were trying but still not pregnant can guarantee if we book it I will definitely get up the duff. The being unable to plan drives me bonkers! Why can't you just decide to get pregnant and it happens!

carriedababi · 29/09/2011 17:25

carriedababi the more money you spend on a holiday and the more inappropriate it would be if you were pg, the more likely you are to be pg when time comes for that holiday....tis the rules of ttc :o

I had a weeks heli skiing booked when I got pg with ds after 18 months of trying. Heli skiing FFS!

carriedababi · 29/09/2011 17:03

less although i did feel less sick when i got to 20 weeks plus

All my friends getting pg so easily and mostly not planned just yet.

Not getting on with large building projects/DIY just in case

Not being able to decide on a holiday

Accepted being matron of honour at friends wedding.

Decided to hell with it all and got on and booked things. DD now 9 months, arrived a few days after major building works finished.

rainbowbreeze · 29/09/2011 16:46

As long as you dont book too far in advance then you can still go on holiday if you're pregnant Smile

carriedababi · 29/09/2011 16:39

mistle what happened abput your job?

OP posts:
carriedababi · 29/09/2011 16:38

biggest thing pissing me off is not being able to book a holiday

and i don't wantto book it to tempt fate then lose aload of money.
