obviously meant "quite relaxed" although "quiet relaxed" sounds good too... Grin

pebspop · 23/11/2011 11:49

af got me yesterday so that gave me a lp of 10 days according to ff. better than the previous cycle when my lp was 7 days. i think i ov'd slightly earlier than ff says so maybe my lp was a bit longer than 10 days in reality.

i am wondering whether to ask dh to start trying this cycle. af wil be due when i just arrive/on the way to oz. if i am pg being on holiday would make the first couple of weeks fly by and i would be ready for a scan at seven weeks to begin my herapin injections when i get back. i don't get any symptoms apart from tiredness so it wouldn't really affect my holiday with sickness etc. if it doesn't work first time we can just ttc as planned anyway.

not sure what he will think to this plan. he wants to wait until we are in oz so next cycle but i just want to get cracking! might get him drunk around ov time and see what happens lol!

Poppyjen · 23/11/2011 11:48

's a bit quiet on here.... is everyone working ???

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing...

Wellies when I got my BFP with DS it was at 10dpo with a First Response, they are the best ones in my opinion although the Superdrug "early" tests (pink packet) are much cheaper and actually more sensitive. The only problem I find with them is that there is a plastic window over the bit where you see a line (or not) and sometimes it causes a shadow which can look like a faint line (or the other way around, there is a faint line but you think it is a shadow....hence my taking tests apart antics!!!!)

Stay away from the clearblue (non-digital) though - they are blue-dye tests with a cross if you are pg - I had a proper false positive on two of those when we first started ttc no2, and I know it can' have been a chemical because AF didn't arrive until 4 weeks Shock later and all other tests were negative.

baby you are so right about feeling like you are doing something - I am actually feeling quiet relaxed about this cycle now, knowing that even if it takes another few months at least there will be some investigations and some options soon, it doesn't seem like an impossible never-ending quest anymore Smile

Hello to everyone else!!

welliesandpyjamas · 22/11/2011 14:28

Not sure, twinkle. All I do know is that Vit A is yo be avoided in pregnancy.

No POAS here yet. I want to try on DH's b'day, which is 3 days before AF, so will be picking your collective brains on here soon on which early HPTs are good. It'd be obviously fab to present him with a BFP for his birthday Grin [hopeful] but I also would like to have an idea because on the following day we have a very big friends get-together...where two of my friends are pregnant (and as pregnant as I should have been if it hadn't been for the MC Sad).

babysaurus · 22/11/2011 14:21

I've already pee'd on my stick Poppy but wanted to pop in and say how pleased I am to see how positive you are managing to be (I hope that doens't sound patronising, I certainly don't mean it to be!) I think your plan of action sounds a good one, and its fab that you feel ready to embark on it right away - personally, I always feel that doing something makes me feel better, as otherwise I just get more and more wrapped up and frustrated!

Poppyjen · 22/11/2011 14:10

Tw1nkle I think earlier on in the thread someone was asking this - and I think the answer was that it is fine (I seem to remember someone was told to take them for morning sickness??) Ladies? Did I make that up?

I had a long chat about the fertility clinic visit with DH last night. I think we are both on the same page about it now (that page being "I am sure it will be expensive but we'll find a way, its worth it") which is great - I was worried he would be antsy about the cost of tests etc. Actually feeling extremely positive about it today which is a change Smile

Hope you are all doing well - any POAS-ers out there???

Tw1nkle · 22/11/2011 13:11

Hi everyone, just a quickie question from re the Bvits.....

Can you take them whilst pregnant? We're going to start TTC now AF has finally been and gone, and was reading all the positive things about the Bvitamins.
But should I stop taking them near to AF being due, or just continue?
Thanks!

BlueCrane · 21/11/2011 14:48

Afternoon all

poppy so glad you can go and have a chat with the consultant next week - I'm sure even being able to chat it through who is not being dismissive about it all and might be able to help will be a relief. Been thinking of you a lot over the weekend, TTC can be so cruel at times!

daydream strange dreams eh?! Keep us posted!

I had breakfast with my friend on Saturday and it was ok, she is doing remarkably well. It all happened naturally and her hormone levels dropped v quickly from the friday to Sunday so the hospital have asked her to test again this Tues (10 days later) to see if she gets a bfn so that they can discharge her. She wanted to save her remaining digi test so I gace her some of my left over ICs for her. Her DD1 keeps asking why Mummy's upset and then yesterday asked when she could have another little sister Sad so tough as it's impossible to explain these things to LO's, her DD1 is only 3.5! My friend has said that she wants to wait until after Christmas whilst they work out whether or not to try again or stick with the two DDs they have - not an easy decision I'm sure.

I have been v sick again at the weekend and would seem that the nausea has come back after it seemed to trail off...this time of the projectile variety though (sorry TMI) so much more difficult to make sure I get to the loo on time and rather worrying being at work Blush though have been ok so far today but just feel soooo drained and tired and can't be bothered with any of it despite deadline looming on Friday...oh well.

Hope everyone else is well? Did we have more people due to POAS this week? How's everyone feeling? For those with AF hope it's not too heavy or painful and that you can take it easy. For those SWI...go girls Wink

Right...back to work, must switch off MN and try to focus on what I'm meant to be doing though would actually like to sleep

eve34 · 21/11/2011 12:39

Afternoon all

Wow so much to catch up and not a lot of time as I am working.

Blue - so sorry to hear about your friend I am sure you are being a great support to her, it is so sad how common MC are. Also sorry that you have been reminded that you should of being finishing work now. It is hard to have these reminders ll the time but it means we remember the ones that didn't make it but were still our babies.

Poppy - what a week you have had, you really are in my thoughts. TTC really is full of ups and downs I hope the appointment this afternoon makes you feel much more positive and gives you the steps forward.

Far - 16 Vials of blood I had 3 done today and that was enough! Hope you have a wonderful holiday.

Twinkle sorry you have had to join us. Good news to hear AF has arrived. It is a starting point. hope you don't have to wait long for bfp.

Peb - lovely that you spent some time thinking about your baby. It isn't easy but it is important that we don't forget them.

IQ - sorry to hear that you are not well, I hope you are being taken very good care of and DH is soon home.

MDD - strange dreams hey I will watch this space for testing.....

Wellies I am afraid I never started on FF so can't help. Fingers crossed someone else can soon.

Well I best get on with some work!

Hope everyone is ok. And had a good weekend.

welliesandpyjamas · 21/11/2011 12:04

POppy just caught up on a few days so sending you belated thoughts n hugs. Consultant plan sounds good. Hope it is a positive visit for you.

twinkle hello and welcome! My first AF after MC was pretty heavy duty too. But it is then followed by the hopeful period of getting to TTC again :)

I'm on CD14 and fertilityfriend is messing with my head! Told me y'day I'd ovulated on CD10, which was fab as we'd BDed tons around then, but today my temp dipped waaaaay down (too soon for implantation dip though). So it's back to saying I haven't ovulated, but we eased of the hanky panky over the w/e....just hope we haven't missed our window now!

pebspop · 21/11/2011 11:51

poppy glad to see you are going to the consultant, i hope they are able to get you the results we all want!

i haven't tried b vit's yet, i was thinking about them in case i needed a bit of help. i think my cycle was just taking a while to adjust. i had no af for 12 weeks then a cycle with 7 day lp and now this cycle where i am up to 10 dpo. i ov late which is a bit annoying but i think i must have been doing this pre mc so not a problem.

Poppyjen · 21/11/2011 11:39

Hi ladies

Thank you so much for all of your kind words, Saturday was a rough day but I feel better today - more positive.

I had a long chat with my mum about everything over the weekend and she has (re) offered to pay for me to see a consultant privately as my GP was totally rubbish about everything when I last spoke to them (told me that there were no resources for fertility related referrals/treatment as I already had a child and that I would have to wait until we had been trying for 18 months for them to even consider it)

So I am off to the private clinic next Monday afternoon to have an hour long consultation to discuss everything - my PCOS, the mc and our 10 long months of TTC DC2. It will be so nice to be able to talk to someone who isn't trying to fob me off, and to have plenty of time to do it. I know that if we end up having tests and treatment it will be expensive but I am sure we'll find a way.

Pebs It must have been an extraordinarily hard day for you on Friday, I was thinking about you. Marking the day by lighting a candle seems like a lovely thing to do Smile Great news on LP length - another Bvits success??

leedy · 21/11/2011 11:23

That'd be "its usual", not "it's usual". I swear I am a professional writer and I can normally spell...

leedy · 21/11/2011 11:10

Ach, poppy, that's rough, hope you're doing ok.

Weirdly I seem to be showing signs of runny cervical mucus (er, this is the no such thing as TMI thread, right?) at only just over two weeks post-m/c, which would be putting my cycle pretty much back at it's usual 30 days. Though I'm also on an expectorant for my death!cough so perhaps that's just making what's there less viscous. I suppose we'll see if my period shows up in a fortnight.

pebspop · 21/11/2011 09:41

10 dpo for me today - that will do for a normal lp won't it?

i had a slight bit of spotting yesterday and today so think af is on her way - only took 5 months to get back to normal grrrr.

MyDaydream · 21/11/2011 05:45

poppy, sorry to hear your news, hope there's lots of support for you at home.

Tw1nkle - my first after my MC was really heavy but didn't last as long as they usually do which was quite nice!

I'm 11dpo and I feel awful. I've been feeling really sick and have done a couple of in throat sicks,, both are unusual for me, and I've been having bizarre dreams that leave me feeling exhausted and on edge when I wake up. Fingers crossed there'll be a bfp waiting for me later in the week!

pebspop · 20/11/2011 10:28

poppy sorry to hear your news. take things easy and try to be kind to yourself.

twink my first af was really light and i started panicing about ashermans syndrome. after my second mc my period was pretty heavy (for me) so i was just relieved i didn't have ashermans. i have heard if you are changing towels every hour you should contact the hospital/gp etc as that is too heavy. i think the first af can be light/heavy/anything inbetween and thats why it's called the wft cycle - anything is normal!

i went home on friday night and lit a candle to mark the due date of my baby i mc'd at 20 weeks in july. it was sad but i am glad i did something.

af hasn't shown up yet. i am on cd 30 but only 9 dpo. hope she holds off for a couple more days then my lp will be 'normal'. when af arrives i will be getting the calendar out to work out wether to ttc before or during oz!!

Tw1nkle · 20/11/2011 10:11

Hi everyone,
Thanks for advice about B vitamins - I'll definately get some!
My af has arrived, which I'm pleased about - but it's REALLY heavy and REALLY painful - I've never experienced anything like it!!
Is this normal for the first af post ERPC?
On a positive note though, we can start TTC this cycle - yay!!!

BlueCrane · 19/11/2011 12:46

Ah poppy what a huge horrid rollercoaster of a week for you. Take good care and find yourself a big bar of chocolate...sending lots of from over here!!

InsomniaQueen · 19/11/2011 10:01

Oh poppy I'm so sorry to hear that - sending you all my thoughts and lots of hugs from here!!!

Hope to see you back in a little while, take care of yourself over the next few weeks!!! Xxxx Thanks xxx

babysaurus · 19/11/2011 09:46

Poppy I am SO sorry to hear that. Am holding your, er, foot (as the hands are already being held) and hoping you are okay. Lots of love xx

PieMistress · 19/11/2011 09:36

poppy big hugs, that is just so utterly utterly crap

MandaHugNKiss · 19/11/2011 09:10

poppy I see you didn't temp this morning. It is possible for implantation bleeding to be heavier than the 'spotting' commonly held belief but, of course, it could also be af.

You've been on quite a rollercoaster these last few days and no doubt feel like you've come crashing off - I'm so sorry, it's just crap.

I'll save all my cheerleader type stuff for now and just

Poppyjen · 19/11/2011 09:02

and the bleeding started properly this morning Sad

I think I will be offline for a little while, this has been a hugely stressful and emotional few days, I think I need to take some time out for a bit.

Lots of love to you all

Poppyjen · 18/11/2011 19:53

IQ so sorry to hear you are having a tough time - when is DH back again?

Just a quick one from me. A teeny bit of spotting today. Damn. I will keep you posted....
