Blue Shock

Rant all you like, sounds like you are having a horrid time! Angry

I don't know what to say other than your colleagues are being rubbish - when this is all over is there someone you can talk to? The hours and the stress are not good for you at all and your company has a health and safety obligation to you to prevent this kind of thing when you are pregnant - I remember IQ having similar issues. I hope that this is the last time you have to deal with a situation like this.

BlueCrane · 24/11/2011 17:36

Evening all and welcome ack marthas good to hear from you and glad you're feeling more chirpy!

Disclaimer before I start this next paragraph

Work is and has been a nightmare this week...huge deadline tomorrow which I would normally just work all hours possible to meet but am so so tired the whole time and have useless baby brain so I just can't do that this week...plus my boss who is supposed to be helping booked 3 days annual leave and is not back until the morning and then my assistant called in sick on Tuesday morning and hasn't been seen since. I am drowning trying to get it all done and fighting a seemingly neverending battle trying to get everything finished. Just had a short meeting to update my bosses boss and explained that I was struggling and just hadn't got the energy I usually have to get projects finished at which point he said 'hmmm, yes, I have to leave early to go out tonight and will then have to finish off my sections when I get back too' grrrr... was that supposed to be some sort of sympathy or understanding of how I was feeling because it sounded to me like he was just making out that he was feeling just as tired???! Shock Angry NO suggestion that he was pleased I was making the effort I was or appreciation of the fact I was practically burnt out getting this thing finished! And then DH rang to see how I was, he's decided to stay late at work to do some admin so probably won't have time to make dinner anymore before he goes out with his friend which a) means I have to make my own dinner when I finally stagger in from work and b) means he's going to buy dinner out when we've just had a looong chat about how tight our finances are to save up for next year and the fact that we're not supposed to be spending anything extra than we need at the moment!!! grrrrr...so irritated and fed up and just want to go home and cry/sleep but have a meeting with my Director at 8:30am tomorrow when I'm supposed to present this project which I've still got several hours of work left to do sorry for the rant girls, know I should be trying to work rather than typing this but need to vent before I explode into a big ball of hormonal pregnant tears!!!

Evening all

Martha - Welcome back has it really been 2 months???? Hope you are well and back in action :-)

Hope everyone is well and looking forward to the weekend.

I have had a lovely day - have wrapped up lots of Christmas presents and done some shopping I feel like I am getting organised now.

Had letter from hospital - as they didn't phone wed (day 7 as said) I breathed a sign of relief as we are low risk of downs. So other than my age (39) all other indicators are looking good. So can now start looking forward and tell my mum (No I haven't told her yet - she doesn't handle stress well) so will post her a card and a scan picture this weekend.

MarthasHarbour · 24/11/2011 16:18

oh poppy i remember as i had that happen to me in August too Sad really sorry it happened again Angry excellent news on the consultant too, sounds like you are really on the PMA this month Smile

waves to MrsDaydream nice to 'meet' you. I was on here for a while until a couple of months ago, but got so disheartened by the whole malarkey and a bit down. But i am back with a vengeance now! I see you are ready to test - FX!

pebs yoo hoo yep i am ok thanks, had a weird couple of months, gone round telling everyone that we have stopped TTC - to which my mother said - oh so you are back to enjoying sex now then eh? Hmm Shock WTF!!!

pebspop · 24/11/2011 16:01

hey martha!!

glad you are back - it hasn't been two months has it?

lets get our fingers crossed for this cycle!

MyDaydream · 24/11/2011 14:26

Poppy, sounds like a good info pack you got. Hope the consultation goes well for you, if it gives you some extra reassurance then it'll all be worth it for you.

babysaurus, congratulations on winning over Alfie, I have a popular name, and hated growing up hearing my name shouted everywhere and having an initial put after my name to separate me from all the other girls with the same name!

I'm always so bad at waiting for things, but it's just one more sleep now! Just got some serious eye rolling from DP who thinks I should wait until I'm actually late until I test rather than testing tomorrow. I'll be handing the test over wee end first if it's positive to get him back for that one.

Poppyjen · 24/11/2011 14:26

Ok ok, by all accounts I had a bit of a week of it last week. I had a couple of faint BFPs and some nice temp rises on Fertility Friend only for bleeding to start on Saturday (at 17dpo) and then AF so I felt really down for a bit Sad. I had a similar situation back in August too.

You'll see from earlier posts I am booked in to see a consultant at a private fertility clinic on Monday afternoon so that's making me feel more positive, like I am finally doing something proactive after months of not really knowing what's going on Smile

(apologies to all who have seen all of this already!!)

Anyhoo - feeling good today, its almost the weekend and AF has finally departed so I am figuring this may be our last un-medicated cycle ttc so the swi will commence in earnest tonight and DH and I are prepared to throw everything we have at it this time!

How have you been anyway?

MarthasHarbour · 24/11/2011 14:15

yep all refreshed and ready to rock again Grin

hows you pops?

Poppyjen · 24/11/2011 14:01

Marthas Hooray! Lovely to see you back, we missed you Grin

Hope you are feeling nicely refreshed after your break!

MarthasHarbour · 24/11/2011 13:23

Hellooooooooo

This thread came up on my active convos so i thought 'what the hell' lets jump back in - And i missed you all desperately!

Anyway, me and DH had a couple of months off and are back in the mosh pit this month Grin so far i am CD13 and no idea of my DPO as i have stopped getting the pains (but must be OVing as am still getting AF Hmm )

Soooo we SWI on CD9, 10, 12(last night) and might have a go tonight Blush. I am out tomorrow night and then we are at the iL's on Saturday night so will make a last ditch attempt on Sunday!

So how are you all? No time to catch up on the 'fred now as am at work but will try and do so tonight.

Hi to all the newbies, will try and catch up with you all too

Martha/Summer xx

babysaurus · 24/11/2011 13:15

Well done Wellies! However, nearer the time (of course) do remember that Superdrug have BOGOF on First Response Wink

welliesandpyjamas · 24/11/2011 12:49

daydream Friday is so close now!!

babysaurus his birthday is a week tomorrow and it'll actually be 15dpo, not 14dpo like I thought yesterday. I was strong yesterday and walked straight past a Superdrug, resisting the temptation to get the hpt recommended by poppy!

Mmmmm brownies...

babysaurus · 24/11/2011 11:52

Morning all,
Blue your memory skills are impressive; my scan is indeed on the 5th of December. I am feeling a lot more positive about things at the moment, even though I have had a tiny bit of clots passing (apparently blood can 'pool' as it leaves the placenta so is to be expected) as I am both tired and, on and off, nauseous. Also, we have already got names for either a boy or a girl which I am excited about. As DH was stuck on Alfie I was worried that I would not be able to find a good alternative that he liked as much, but didn't want something so currently popular (4th most popular) but have managed, in a fit of inspiration, come up with a name - hurrah! And DH loves it, double Hurrah! If you don't mind, I am not going to post it though, am a bit weird like that, either the boys or the girls name. It makes it all seem a lot more real, even though we are not in the clear (or at least the 12 week marker) we are close and I do feel different to last time. I thought I had symptoms till the MMC was diagnosed last time but in retrospect I think I had the tail end of symptoms.

POppy it all sounds fab from your end of things. Good to have things move forward as such isn't it? At least with that kind of fee you can also contact them whenever you like with any queries and, I imagine, get seen or a call back asap. Also, for the rapid pace of things moving the fee seems quite small in comparison. I think the NHS is wonderful in some ways, but in others it is a very slow moving and frustrating beast!

MyDaydream Friday is less than 24 hours away, what are you on about?! I have everything crossed!

Wellies when is your DH's birthday? Sorry if you have already said, I am too lazy to read back and check. I think, even though it requires willpower, holding off as long as possible is a good thing. After all, if its a negative you won't fully believe it and you'll only end up waiting for another after all.

BlueCrane · 24/11/2011 10:50

Thanks for the brownies poppy Sounds like a good pack of info you've got through from the consultant, and glad that AF has nearly gone too!

Right...back to it...

Poppyjen · 24/11/2011 09:55

Morning morning - anyone fancy a (sort of) mid-morning cup of tea and a brownie??

Wellies , 14dpo is the perfect time to test, not really early at all. Barring random late implantation etc pretty much any test would give you a positive result at that point I should think. I would try to hold out until then Smile Easier said than done though, I know!

daydream Friday is tomorrow now, I bet that feels closer Grin sending positive vibes your way!!

Blue you really do have my sympathies with the tiredness, with DS it was the main (and worst) symptom of early/mid pregnancy. I had a job that sounds a bit like yours and was constantly being told I had to be in for early morning bits and pieces (training, "breakfast seminars" etc etc) which was sooooooo hard and that coupled with deadlines looming and unreasonable colleagues was a recipe for me crashing at about 3pm each day and hiding in the disabled loo trying to have a sneaky 10 min nap (not my finest moment but I was desperate!)

It was only after this had passed that our health and safety officer told me that I was welcome to use the "sick room" which had a sort of camp-bed thing if I felt I needed to lie down. Sounds great but I am not sure I would have dared to announce to a bunch of stressed lawyers that I was "just off downstairs for a little lie down" Grin I hope you start to feel more energised soon.

Not much to report here, AF has all but gone, CD6 and still popping the Agnus Castus and the VitB complex (100mg) so hoping this will continue the good work from last cycle. I got my info pack through from the clinic as well which has all sorts of comforting sounding bits of information...and a price list of course....but actually for what I suspect we will start with its not too bad. Its the consultation cost that's a bit of an eye-waterer (£175 for an hour) coupled with the cost of scans and blood tests but hopefully these will be one-offs and after the results are back we will be given a treatment plan to try. The drugs (eg Clomid) themselves are quite reasonable if that's what we're given. Its all starting to feel a bit real now :)

I hope the rest of you are feeling well today - its almost the weekend (ish) Hooray!!

BlueCrane · 24/11/2011 09:12

Morning all...soooo tired here not sure how I'm going to get all this work done, internal review meeting at 8:30am tomorrow (it's taking my every effort to be in for 9 at the moment so not sure how I'll get in for that, nevermind the work that needs doing to prep for it) and then main deadline 3:30pm tomorrow afternoon and then i can collapse in a heap and then I will go home early and pack to go and see my Brother SIL and nephew for the weekend...really hope 15mo nephew decides sleeping through is a good idea this weekend Hmm

leedy a friend at work has just left for mat leave...she's due the day I would've been before my MC! Was a bit Envy when she was finishing on Friday TBH. It's not easy.

wellies and daydream hang in there with the 2ww and testing...the wait is horrible!!

Waves to everyone else...right...back to work...

MyDaydream · 23/11/2011 23:00

leedy, I feel you on the "should be me" feelings. A friend of mine has a due date soon after mine. Seeing her scan photo on facebook put me in a bad mood for days after.

wellies, good luck for your test when you do it. What a lovely gift if you get a bfp on his birthday.

I'm in full pjs on the sofa mode feeling sorry for myself, I'm poorly and even sitting up for too long is draining. Testing on Friday fingers crossed for my bfp. Did one yesterday morning came back bfn, but I have no signs of coming on so I'm still hopeful for this time. Friday does seem a long way away though!

welliesandpyjamas · 23/11/2011 22:00

Thanks for the kind warning poppy :) Luckily my skinflint tendencies will probably ensure I leave it as long as poss to save on tests Grin But am definitely trying on DH's bday which is 14DPO.

blue good luck with the deadline, shoot the assistant Grin

leedy poor you. These little reminders of what could have been are horrid, aren't they. One of DS1's classmate's mum has the same due date I should have had, and I see her gradually blooming every day. Sigh.

leedy · 23/11/2011 19:16

I too have been (gasp) working, though also have little to report - still WTFing along in my WTF cycle. Found myself getting a bit sad/jealous in the greengrocers' today: met a neighbour whose son is the same age as mine and she is now visibly pregnant - got a touch of the irrational BUT THAT SHOULD BE ME TOOs. Oh well. Onward and upward!

BlueCrane · 23/11/2011 12:56

Quick since we x-post!!

BlueCrane · 23/11/2011 12:55

Hello all...

InsomniaQueen · 23/11/2011 12:53

Hi all,
Been mostly sleeping and eating but have caught up now - poppy so pleased that you have a consultation coming up, your definitely right about private care. You get longer appointments, more in depth discussion and your never fibbed off because you are paying to be there!!! Hopefully this will put you on the road to getting baby number two!!!

pebs hurray for a longer lp - here's hoping that things just keep getting better for you!! As for forward planning both sound good really but I 'suppose' you should discuss it with him, I say suppose only because I just seduced mine rather than filling him in on 'the plan' - he he he!!!

wellies waiting to test is really hard but then so is testing early - there is almost no 'best' way to do it. Maybe the best plan is to just see how you feel when you get closer to the day.

As for me - I'm getting bigger by the day so feeling good about that although the baby is now lying right behind my hernia and making it difficult to push back in when she decides to start wriggling. Oh well I'm just pleased she still seems to be doing well. Hope all of you are doing well and feeling good.

Love to all xxxx

Poppyjen · 23/11/2011 12:33

Wellies a word of warning - at 10dpo the line was faint, and it was a nervous few days of testing to see if it got darker so if you test that early be prepared to invest in a few day's worth of tests... My DH wasn't convinced until the line was darker than the control (which was about 18dpo I think). Also, the earlier you test the greater the chance of picking up a chemical - I know you already know this but it is so absolutely heartbreaking....so proceed with caution Smile

Pebs I know what wellies is saying, but if it were me I would want to go for it asap now that your LP is longer Wink

welliesandpyjamas · 23/11/2011 12:24

poppy Oooooh, 10dpo, eh?! That gives me just 5 days wait Grin Or I could wait til DH's birthday, a few days later... Will I resist the temptation? Place your bets please, ladies Grin

pebs You'll hate me but I think it would be nicer to ttc on holiday :) Wouldn't it be nice, if you're successful, to be able to tell your future dc that they are Made In Australia! But obviously, waiting an extra month is torture!

Poppyjen · 23/11/2011 12:13

Sorry Pebs crossed post - Hurray for longer LP!! That's fantastic Smile
