manda here with a PMA transfer-hug, a slap and another PMA-hug for you Grin Hang in there!! The thought of the scan terrifies me too TBH so pleeeease don't feel alone or strange about that! DH and I were only talking about it last night and that since our booking app is now 2 days before the scan we're tempted to ask if they can see if they can find a heartbeat then so that we at least know there's something in there before we have to go into the scan room IYSWIM...obviously if she can't find it for whatever reason then we'll be balls of super stress for the 48 hours pre-scan but it's our best plan at the moment. Sounds as though your docs have screwed up which is a real pain...I would phone them to chase it up, or could you ring the antenatal unit/EPU to see if they have your details yet...they must have so many ladies in the same position totally terrified of the scan after previous experiences. I know this might sound harsh but you're probably not going to relax until post 16 weeks anyway so getting some reassurance soon isn't going to solve that but may hopefully help a bit...

poppy so Smile about you getting to Ov finally!! Sorry you now have the 2ww to endure but I think that's better than waiting for Ov as at least you can countdown whereas the other wait can seem endless!

Right...back to work/preparing for BSI audit later on today trying to look like I'm working/preparing, brain a bit like mush

MandaHugNKiss · 29/09/2011 10:56

I've been Lurky McLurkster the last couple of days (on DS1's laptop which I've appropriated since a) my laptop has been broken by ds2 on monday and b) ds2 has been late to school everyday). So metaltastic am I that posting just seems to panic me even more. But if anything will entice me out it's good news (not the Jehovah's Witness version of Good News, mind Grin)

Ah, eve fantastic news, many congrats on your bfp! Estimated due date, please? Sod's law, of course, that it happens at a 'bad' time but I do hope things settle before your ms kicks in!

Peb Obviously good news about your condition - as much as it's bad news you even have it and the consequences it had for you. But such good news you can now be treated for a positive outcome.

blue I'm grinning at your PMA! Where can I get me some of that? Wink

I've heard nothing from the dr's re counselling or referral to the epu for reassurance scan. I'm pretty sure she may have screwed up - as I said, she was one of the fledgling gps at the practice. The obvious answer is go see her again and/or another doc but... the thought of getting on that table to be scanned is petrifying me beyond all reason. I even contacted babybond (they were the ones who discovered the mmc at 16+1 gender scan) and they offered me a 33% discount on a viability scan... and now I can't even entertain the idea of going into the building let alone being scanned.

I need a slap and a hug but not sure in which order!

congrats eve!

eve Grin Grin that's fantastic news!!! I must say when you kept saying AF was late but it was 'just stress' I was a bit Hmm and wondering, especially as you were feeling so emotional about everything...FANTASTIC news!!! Hope you're ok and not feeling too shellshocked with everything else going on at the moment!!

I'm still feeling very Grin following my conversation with Mum last night...I was soooo stressed last time about them having to come over when it's expensive at Christmas and this time was trying not to stress that if we didn't get a bfp soon then it'd be the Olympics by due date...but I just can't believe they went ahead and booked the tickets in August whilst we were still early days in the post MC TTC and the dates now fit perfectly with this little bean... Grin definitely PMA this morning!!!

Poppyjen · 29/09/2011 07:57

Eve that's great! As IQ says it is rotten luck that things are crazy with you at the moment but this is wonderful news Grin . How is your DS? Hope he's on the mend Smile

Another temp rise for me today so Fertility Friend has finally confirmed ovulation so I am 3 DPO today. Let the symptom spotting commence.....

InsomniaQueen · 29/09/2011 07:24

eve - OMG BFP - talk about a bolt out of the blue!!!!!!

Congratulations......Grin!

I know things are a bit insane in eve land at the moment but......BFP....yay!!!! Xxxxx

eve34 · 28/09/2011 22:38

BFP !!!!!! OMG ARHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

babysaurus · 28/09/2011 20:44

Blue that's fabulous news about your mum! Smile Its also good to see you are feeling a bit more chipper.

I still have no bathroom. The whole thing is SO painfully slow it's untrue. I'd shout at him but that would probably only make things take longer. We have no shower (or washing facilities to speak of apart from the bucket and kettle in the cellar) so what does DH spend all of today doing? Yup, the floor. Attaching hardboard to the floor so he can tile it next week. The base of the shower is in the corner of the room and that's it. Literally. I know he's doing it himself etc etc and it's hard work (but he seems reluctant to find me a job or involve me in any way) but, really, this is madness. He has also, while the PVA on the floor was drying, made a mantelpiece for the Victorian iron fireplace we bought off Ebay and sprayed the frame of the mirror we bought a while back (fancy gold frame, antique style) black. I am sure I am not alone in thinking that perhaps these are not so much a priority as, say, fitting the frigging shower Angry

Needless to say, we have not done much SWI at, what I guess to be, the right time but this has not stopped me metalling. Oh yes, everything is a possible sign (even though I had no symptoms whatsoever before the BFP last time!) I can't help but remember we didn't bonk like mad the time it worked so I have it in my mind that it'll be the same this time too.

However, and I really hate this about TTC, I also have two weeks till it's worth testing and also have a potentially boozy weekend ahead of me. Friday we are having dinner at a friends who drink loads (and fill your glass while they fill theirs) and the nights at their house normally end in a fuzzy way. I am also seeing a friend for a long walk and pub dinner on Saturday and also meeting a friend for drinks on Sunday. (I realise this makes me sound like a drunk, I'm not - honest! It just sounds far worse written down!) While I can get away with drinking less than normal I think it would be hard , and possibly pointless, to not drink at all. Plus, everyone would think I was already pg if I didn't drink, which would make things all the more tricky.

I am trying not to mention TTC intentions too much to DH too. While he, obviously, knows we are I don't want him to feel as if we have to at certain times (yet.) Instead I plan to just lure him into bed - though unfortunately he's currently not that desirable when covered in sawdust and sweat and I don't have a shower to shove him in first!!

Pebs I am really pleased that the cause of your MC's is easily treatable. It must be so awful for people to have unexplained MC's as the frustration would make the it even more upsetting. Hopefully it will be problem free, and you won't have long to wait. PMA PMA PMA Grin

Poppyjen · 28/09/2011 19:55

Yay Blue that's great news, it will be so lovely to have your Mum over for such a long time Grin

My parents are moving back over to the UK next summer after 14 years abroad - hopefully just in time for them to be a great support when we finally have DC2. Can't wait - it is so hard with family so far away!

BlueCrane · 28/09/2011 18:37

Just had the most amazing conversation with my Mum...told her the news and she then said 'well I can tell you now'...they've already booked flights to come over mid May for 2 months before they knew we'd got a bfp!!! Such a huge blessing to know she's coming over and it's all sorted!! Feeling very Grin about it!!

Poppyjen · 28/09/2011 17:36

Hi all - just a quick update from me temps still up today (actually same as yesterday which isn't as good as another rise but I'll take it over a fall IYSWIM) so here's hoping this carries on over the next few days.

TMI alert - the temp rise seems to tally with CM too - no more EWCM since monday.

I would say its looking good, so that means 2DPO today - only 12 days to go! I only have Clearblue Digis in the house and I refuse to buy any more internet cheapies or others. I'll just have to wait it out until AF is a no show :) .....well that's what I say now.....I may cave Blush

Blue great news about the booking appointment and early scan Smile

Pebs as Blue said, it is great that you have some answers and have a plan for next time. So pleased the consultant was helpful - its lovely to hear good stories about the medical profession for a change!

Well I had a cuddle of my friend's 10 day old baby today - I wasn't as emotional as I thought I would be. I didn't even feel broody to be honest. It is as others have said before I don't feel any sadness that I didn't have that baby, as it isn't mine - does that make sense?

So freaking hot down here today - I have been out with DS in the pram all day and I think I may well have sunburn. That is absolutely outrageous behaviour on the part of the sun at the end of September. I wish to complain - where are my lovely crisp clear Autumn days?

BlueCrane · 28/09/2011 16:31

Update...feeling a bit better about things as been v tired and felt a bit nauseous this afternoon and I got my booking app and early scan date through today - 18th and 20th October respectively so just 3 weeks to wait...I'll be 8+2 by the scan so should be a good chance of seeing little bean and hopefully a heartbeat too Smile getting that PMA back...thanks for letting me lounge on the padded seat and vent here earlier Smile

V quiet on here again today...are people actually (ahem) working Wink??

BlueCrane · 28/09/2011 11:52

Morning all

eve how is DS doing? Hope his foot heals quickly and the stress with it and school next week goes ok...

missg so glad you had a good weekend in London even if crazy tiring!! Hamley?s is always hot and heaving!! Glad you treated yourself to some goodies to compensate for the lack of Wine though!

smiley glad to hear of the CM?any news on the OPK this morning?

summer glad to hear DS isn?t as ill as you feared?LOL to him running around the house shouting ?chicken? Smile Grrr to the conversation you overheard on the tram though!!

pie I?m afraid I don?t know the answer to your question about CP but I did wonder the same earlier in the year when my cycles were getting longer and longer each month and AF was v horrid and heavy with clots when it did come?I guess that there could be fertilisation and a failed attempt at implantation which could possibly delay AF and cause crazy AF but your body not actually get to the point of producing HCG?IYSWIM?so I guess in that respect then technically ?yes? (maybe Confused) At least you are having tests etc which will hopefully shed some light on your cycles!

manda hellooooo?.are you out there? How are you doing? If you?ve got your heard firmly buried in the sand at the mo that?s fine, happy for you to stay there?just don?t want you to think we?ve forgotten about you!!

pebs glad you got some answers from the Consultant?a friend had the same thing and after a still birth with her first (before they found out) she has gone on to have 4 healthy DC?s with the aspirin and injections throughout pregnancy Smile

poppy how?s the temps today? Really hoping the rise stays and it?s Ov time in Poppyland!!

Well, I am up and down to be honest last night I didn?t feel as tired at all and had my second ?party? to do so didn?t get home until 10:30pm and still wasn?t all that tired, DH said I was just ?wired? with adrenalin from doing the party and TBH after I?d had a nice shower and chilled with the new Next Christmas catalogue for a bit when I did get into bed at 11:30 I was soooo tired and ready to sleep. I have also come out in loads of spots on my face and remember the same happening at 5ish weeks last time?but then everything stopped at 5-6weeks last time too so am a bit Hmm about what?s going on! My boobs have definitely grown but aren?t sore ? last time they were soo painful. Trying not to compare too much but it?s difficult and trying to stay calm and PMA chilled but that?s not easy either. Just want to know it?s all ok in there and that this time there will be a yolk inside the sac and a little bean actually growing there rather than the empty black hole we saw on the scan last time Sad I so enjoyed telling my friends but I felt like such a fraud when it all went wrong last time that part of me wishes no-one knew at all so that if it doesn?t go right then I won?t have to deal with that feeling again IYSWIM. Also DH has ?a bad cold?man flu so trying to look after him at the moment which isn?t easy!

Oh dear...now just had a call from my best friend to say that she and her DH have both just been made redunant this morning Angry they work for the same company, he has been there for over 20years! She is on Mat leave at the moment after DD2 and they have just moved into a new house with bigger mortgage etc...they've been told to go in on Monday (DH on leave this week) to collect stuff and pick up paperwork and that's it!! Sad

pebspop · 28/09/2011 09:59

poppy just had a look, looks like you have definalty had a good rise there. fingers crossed it stays that way!

pebspop · 28/09/2011 09:58

hi everyone

i had my appointment with the consultant yesterday and found out i had blood clots in my placenta which had stopped the good stuff getting through to the baby. i have to take asprin and herapin injections next time i am pregnant to thin my blood and fingers crossed it will solve the problem next time.

the problem is called antiphospholipid syndrome and has an excellent sucess rate when treated with asprin and herapin. i feel like it's good news as i have a reason and a treatment plan for next time.

i have also been given high dose folic acid to take before ttc.

pie i am going back to acupuncture on saturday. hope he can get me ov'ing now! it think it is possible to have a chemical as you might not have produced enough hcg to get a bfp but something was still there iykwim.

missg glad the hen do went well (apart from the sleep). i haven't been on a hen do for ages. come on friends - get married!!!

poppy i have been using fertility friend i think it's really good, i will have a peek at your chart in a minute.

baby in a way i think it's good to be the only ones ttc#1. it shows that even if you have a mc there is always a chance of a baby as everyone else has proved.

PieMistress · 27/09/2011 21:39

Hi Peeps!

I have a question ... is is possible to have a chemical pregnancy without a bfp first? I did a test on Sat (pre-wedding to check i could drink) and it was bfn. I'd had a few days of queasiness, strange dreams and loads of CM so just wasn't sure (despite my low progesterone result!). Anyway, still felt not quite right on Sunday. AF then came on Monday, 2 days later than normal and it's been very very heavy and clotty and i've had horrible cramps and backache? Maybe it's just one of those horrible AFs but it's just been so bloody (sorry for TMI) that I wondered if it was something else?

Ho Hum! Have got my Day 3 blood tests this week so i'm crapping myself that they will come back as menopausal or something :( Part of me doesn't even want to have them done as ignorance is bliss .... right ?!

smiley don't worry about it falling out! Good work on the SWI and whoop on the CM! :)

missg the hen weekend sounds tiring! Bet you are glad to be back at home now

eve how many dpo are you now?

poppy whoop on temp rise! Had a nosy at your chart and it deffo looks good for having just ovulated! Now the 2ww!

pebs have you been for more acupunture? when do you get your results back from the m/c? hopefully not too long now

blue how have the sofa and mineblue been? hope you are feeling better x

baby whoop for imminent ovulation and enticing DH with some unsuspicious SWI! Grin

I know i've missed peeps wishing shimmery summer pixie IQ marathon ... anybody else????

Hope manda is ok? Not heard from her for a while?

I was on the tram coming home for DS this morning, two elderly ladies came and sat behind me - typical 'old lady' conversation:

Lady 1: Oo my DIL is expecting again, she already has two boys, such a shame she doesnt have a girl, fingers crossed this time
Lady 2: Oh that is a shame, the poor thing - better luck this time eh?
Summerbird quietly Angry thinking WTF! I am blessed with DS but would be eternally grateful for a bean that sticks! Summerbird trying to keep her gob shut!

Further on in the conv
Lady 2: Yes well i would have loved to be a grandmother but it didnt happen, ah well never mind
Lady 1: Just one of those things i spose, anyway did you see that funny advert with the dogs..........

I guess it is a generation thing but they were being so bloomin flippant about some poor DIL who probably cherishes her two sons and again about some other DIL who probably suffered for years with fertility issues!

BlueCrane I think by your msg you are pg? THat's great news! Congrats and great your friends are happy too!

Eve34 keeping my fingers crossed for you.. hopefully you will get good news at the weekend!

MissG - i def agree hen weekends are tricky when pg, i had one to go to when pg and it was def more difficult when pg esp when at the pukey stage too. hope you enjoyed though too

Well finally got some discharge here (TMI apologies) and it just made me sooo happy so hopefullly I might get an opk positive tomorrow morning. We swi'd tonight but i know how ridiculous this sounds but i think i shoudl have stayed lying down after it longer cos when I stood up it felt like it was all gone. Oh well, just got to hope something stayed in there!

Missgiraffe1 · 27/09/2011 17:44

Flippin' nora! You lot have been busy, getting a new thread on the go and everything!

Sorry I've been awol for a while. I was away with work on Thursday until 11.45pm, then left for London the next day at 9.30am. I was then spilled over the sofa for most of yesterday barely able to keep my eyes open.

The hen weekend was great - but exhausting! I have concluded that hen weekends are hard work when pg. We were staying in Covent Garden and there must've been a pub/club in the lane under our window as it was bloody noisy - all night long! I got about 2-3 hours sleep each night. And, I have been so pukey since last Thursday, so I spent most of Saturday standing outside shops deep breathing! My 2 SILs looked after me, and were pretty hilarious when they came in at 4am (I lasted until 1am) pretty well oiled, trying their best - but failing miserably - to be quiet.

I intended to get my nephew a pressie in Hamley's but it was so busy and so hot I couldn't stay in the shop for long enough to actually pick and buy anything for fear of barfing!! I did treat myself to some bare escentuals stuff and jewelry to compensate for the lack of drinking though Smile

Pleased to hear my shower antics have not been forgotten Grin. I really wish I had a big fancy Porcelenosa bathroom at home!! I think I may have to make it a requirement for all future holiday villa hire Grin. My search criteria will now go something like this:

Bedrooms: 3
Pool: Yes
AC: Yes
Bathroom: One suited to rampant sex preferably.

Anyway, am trying desperately to catch up!
Baby so your bathroom's nearly finished then? Hmm Hmm Smile

Blue how are you feeling? Bet it felt great to share your happy news with your friends. Smile

Eve sorry to hear about DSs foot Sad. How did he manage that??

Pebs So pleased to hear AF arrived eventually. At least that
particular stress is removed and you can get on with SWI again. Sorry if I missed this, but did you have your appointment with your consultant?

Poppy impresssed with your dedication to the cause Smile FX for Ov soon!

Marathon Corned beef?? Really??? Is that a craving? It gives me the boak. Although, I eat mushy peas on toasted cheese which my DH says gives him the boak, so each to their own. Smile

Congrats Auntie IQ that's lovely news. Glad all well with miniIQ.

Summer Grin at your, erm, liberation story. But sorry evil AF got you. Still in the running for June though! PMA! Smile hang on to that hoodie!

Shimmery Sad at AF, but Smile at your PMA. Were you the creative one getting your July hoodie ready?

Pie Sad Af got you too. Sending some July PMA your way too Smile

Manda how are you? I am so uninspired by food right now. All I can be bothered making is filled pasta and toast - and even that is a struggle!

Oh, god, who have I missed. I have gone back and forth about 10 times and forget what I've read by the time I start typing again! Sorry!

Hi to Boobeez if you're still around, and welcome to the newbies Pixie Wishing and Smiley (Someone please tell me if I've missed someone) sorry you have to be here but glad you found us.

eve34 · 27/09/2011 16:22

Afternoon all.

I have 5 mins to say hello.

Peb - good to hear you are getting back to normal at least now you have a bench mark to start from when thinking about ovulation and TTC. Hope you catch quickly :-)

Blue - I remember afternoon naps bliss. Enjoy them.

Marathon - dirty meat sounds fabulous enjoy!

Smiliegirl - sorry if I have missed other posts from you. Sorry you ave had to join us. Forgive me if I have this wrong but if you have mc it maybe a little while before you get back into sync again. Although as you can see we have some ladies that got BFP right away. Good luck.

Baby hope the bathroom and the fimo is finished. These men live in a little world of their own don't they. Drives you mad.

I am calmer today although that is because there is no school this week due to the broken foot, so stress levels will return to normal next week, with the extra worry of the broken foot. Hay hoe going to try and relax this week.

Still no sign of AF. I have no PG symptoms like I have had before so really do think it is down to stress. don't want to test and be disappointed so trying not to think about it till the weekend.

Hope everyone is having a lovely day and enjoying the sun shine
