Evening all

Baby - hope all is ok. Thinking of you. i have completely stopped feeling sick all of a sudden so begin to think the worst. Got GP next week so will sit it out. I am sure normal sick service will resume shortly.

Wellies - i completely understand your wish to get back to it. I had a mmc but there wa still some left over and had to have eprc (not sure if those letters are right but you know what i mean) 2 weeks later. Do wait for your bfn before you get going just to be sure.

Well i have had a lovely day we went for lunch and my lovely DP had invited all my family along. so about 30 of us for lunch. It brought a tear to my eye. I felt we had to tell them our news as I couldn't face a thing to eat and that is most odd for me. Lets hope this one sticks this time. Although valued their support last time.

Monday already I have the day off tomorrow only 3 days then off for half term. Can't get to next fri quick enough hope everyone had a good weekend

welliesandpyjamas · 16/10/2011 21:15

Thanks 2wwonder :) didn't realise it could take that long

Actually, am sulking this evening now as DH has just reminded me that I have an appt to go back for a scan in 3+ weeks and that we should wait to TTC until after that. He is so annoyingly sensible .....and I am frustrated at not having any counter-arguement Sad

Hello Wellies, welcome to the thread. I think it can sometimes take a few weeks for BFN to appear, sometimes much quicker.

Baby, I hope all goes well for you over the next few days and that all goes well with the EPU.

Pie, my DD is 2 in Feb. My MMC was due in Jan, I wanted them to be close in age. Very similar in age to yours. We had an owl-y weekend too here! We saw some at a display, and DD keeps saying 'woo-woo'.

Martha I love love that song, and All About Eve in general. I once went to see them live, it was quite an emotional concert.

Did any of you ladies see the Wave of Light thread yesterday for Baby Loss Awareness day? A very moving thread.

I have been on symptom spotting/ testing madness over the last few days. I know, know, it is too early, but cannot help it. I felt a bit sick yesterday, but it could have just been too much chocolate Wink. Off to watch Downton, once I have added myself to stats.

MarthasHarbour · 16/10/2011 20:32

ooo and i meant to say - i have a stinking cold too - now we all know that is the symptom of choice on this thread [hgrin]

Ladies it is 'me who was known as Summerbird73' How do you like my new name? i realised that my old MN nickname was creeping into RL a bit too much (all my fault - i registered a new email address and twitter account which gave me away then regretted it!).

And i also have loved this song for over 20 years - had it played at the meal at our wedding in the background music n everyfink.... good to have the odd namechange every now and again!

I have got a lot to catch up on here but just wanted to give baby some reassurance. Despite our shit luck this year i did have a little bleed when PG with DS and it was fine, the blood was red too but no cramping so fingers crossed.

Well i am 14DPO today but only CD25. Last month i got AF at 15DPO so i am expecting it tomorrow - will test on Friday morning (she says - it is sooo gonna be Wednesday!)

welliesandpyjamas · 16/10/2011 20:09

Thanks for the welcome :) Sounds like a good idea to pick up a test in the morning instead then, see if there's a BFN yet. How soon after MC should I see one?

babysaurus · 16/10/2011 19:49

I didn't rrealise they could measure HCG levels. That might be a good option, thank you pointing it out. Will give them a shout tomorrow.

PieMistress · 16/10/2011 19:46

baby please try not to worry (easier said than done I know). If it were me, just for reassurance, I would get an appt at the EPU and get them to measure my HCG levels, and again 2 days later to make sure they had doubled. Spotting in pregnancy can be common, and harmless but given what we have all been through I think I would want peace of mind and tracking HCG levels would be a good way of doing it. I don't know what a dildo cam would show at 5 weeks? If you don't have any cramping then that's a good thing. Have you DTD recently? It could be a bit of cervical erosion. Please try not to fret sweetie xxx

welcome wellies sorry you have had to find us here but it's a lovely warm thread! As blue suggests I would wait until you have a bfn first before trying, just incase you get pregnant straight away (I think it was IQ that got a bfp before her period following the mc). The CB digis are quite good OPKs as you get a smiley face when SWI is on the cards!!!

shimmery are you planning on testing before AF or just waiting to see what tomorrow brings? You have some willpower woman! I am 7dpo and would normally test at 10dpo BUT given my shitty FSH levels I'm less inclined to test early given the 1% chance of a live birth that apparantly my level means!!! [hshock]

blue oooo scan week this week! Will be thinking of you come Thursday!!

Had a lovely day today, went on a family bike ride with DS in his seat behind DP and with a nice lunch stop off on the way! DS has started doing owl impressions and it is so hysterically funny, he purses his lips and goes 'twoooo'!

babysaurus · 16/10/2011 19:17

Thanks Blue. No, no cramping and actually feel quite sick (been on a roundabout kind of sick) which is kind of reassuring, but not too much as I had full on symptoms before and it turned out to be a MMC. No other signs either way really.
I hate this waiting game!
May call EPU and see what they say. If nothing else, it will feel like I am at least doing something!

BlueCrane · 16/10/2011 19:05

baby sorry x-post...I think keep an eye on it and see if there's anymore...are you cramping at all? Could be worth a call to the docs in the morning if it's still happening. Thinking of you!

BlueCrane · 16/10/2011 19:03

Welcome wellies please come and make yourself comfortable...so sorry to hear about your MC. Tracking ovulation can be quite tricky post MC but I think for all of us one of the key things was testing to make sure that you get a BFN (to make sure your hormone levels have dropped) so that if you do get a BFP before AF arrives again you know it's a 'true one' and not a hangover IYSWIM. Other than that there's no reason not to start trying again straight away!

I'm so tried (again) been to see my friend overnight which was lovely but the 2hr drive each was was v tiring and i didn't sleep v well last night as had to leave the window open for her cat to come in at 2am...so it was freezing...although said cat did turn into a lead weight by my feet snuggle up and keep my feet warm. Was just feeling very pleased with myself to have managed to cook dinner for me and DH without feeling too sick but when i gave it to him realised he hadn't heard me properly when i'd said what I was cooking and really really didn't like it and didn't want it Blush I was quite fed up but really should've remembered that he's not keen on hot cheese and therefore a cheddar cheese risotto wasn't going to be top of his list Blush He's also doing the ironing which is very sweet of him but it's taking hours and so so so much longer than it would take me and I'm having to hold myself on the sofa to stop myself from jumping in and taking over! Dentist appointment tomorrow...booking app Tuesday...scan Thursday...busy 'medical' week ahead!

Glad to hear the metalling is going well shimmery though sorry about your crazy weekend!

How's the metalling in casas summer and pebs?

Hope everyone else is well?

babysaurus · 16/10/2011 18:54

Bugger.
I have a TINY bit of brown blood in my undies and also when I wipe. I realise this could mean absolutely nothing, although I did have the same thing when I was pg before and we all know how that ended!
Frustratingly, as I am a mere 5 weeks and 2 days a scan won't show much either, I don't think.
Frig.
What does everyone suggest...?
Sad

Hi all

A tentative little step in here. Room for another one?

It's been a week since my miscarriage and bleeding is just finishing up now. And we've decided to start TTC straight away, for emotional reasons.

Thinking of picking up one of those ovulation kits tomorrow so we have a bit more of an idea of what's happening (without a period as a frame of reference). Anyone reccommend trying them or is it just as useful cheaper to just look out for the usual signs?

Will have a look through the thread now for the stats and update them (I assume that's the polite thing for a newbie to do, anyway Grin)

ShimmeryPixie · 16/10/2011 15:24

Hello ladies - particularly to FFrocks and TwoWeekWonder.

Farfalla - that's excellent.

Pie - I am now 13 dpo and AF is due Tuesday. Potential symptoms are: tiredness and aching boobs. However the boobs could be more due to DH [hblush]. I also have "being emotional" but that may be just because it has been a trying weekend (wedding of family friend, bunch of drunken chavs, DB being threatened, me going a teensy bit psycho - no-one threatens my family - and DH having to explain that seeking out said drunken chav to gut him would not be the best move). I may also have made an enemy of my SIL and came very close to telling a bossy pseudo friend (long-ish story) that when I wanted her opinion the devil would buy ice skates. Thank god I am home - I've never been so glad to see my front door in my life.

PieMistress · 14/10/2011 20:02

far that's fantastic! I am so chuffed for you! I think I would be doing a giddy dance if I got 29 !! Do you think that's because of the B6 OR, you could infact have a bfp on the way? When I was pregnant before my levels were 26 at 3dpo and 42 at 10dpo, I then got my bfp the next day (but sadly had the m/c at 7 weeks). So are you 10dpo now? Ooooo interesting! Are you tempted to test?

I think summer and shimmery are also in the 2ww? I am CD19 now and according to FF 5dpo so a few days away from full on metalling and symptom spotting! I do have a spotty chin though

blue I think what Manda says is right about mercury fillings when pregnant. Something similar happened to me about a week before my due date and they could only put a temporary thing in until after I'd had DS. Sadly my dentist is private so none of my treatment was free when I was pregnant. On the plus side he is a bit of a dish :) :) :)

two how old is your DD? I have a DS who will be 2 at Christmas. My 2nd (the m/c) would have been due on the 23rd December and I feel like it is looming fast! :( :(

manda how old is your DS2? I'm taking 50mg of B6 this month but depending on how that goes might increase it to 100mg next month. Are you just taking general pre-natal vits now?

I am trying to book a holiday for week after next. I didn't realise this was English half term though MWAHHHHHH! As in Scotland (where I live) it's the 2 weeks prior so thought we'd be safe. Everything is still ridiculously expensive :( We had thought about a cheap package hols to the sun but will probably end up in Cumbria or NE England somewhere.

Happy weekend to everybody else I haven't name checked above! Off to make dinner then watch trash telly. I stoop so low and watch Gavin Henson in The Batchelor - no brain function required!

TwoWeekWonder · 14/10/2011 15:27

Hello again, thanks to all of you for the lovely messages and hugs. Glad I joined this thread. I am just very sorry that so many of us have had to go through this.

Manda, very similar in a lot of respects, I am sorry to say. MMC, induced labour after wonderful scan. I can still see my little boy leaping about on the screen in my mind's eye, and sometimes struggle to think he is gone.

In the month after the miscarriage, I was absolutely pregnancy mad, it was all I could think about. Now, I am more unsure. There are times when I feel like I am almost betraying him by wanting to try again so soon. Then, there are the more rational moments when I tell myself I am scared, but will always be scared, of future pregnancies and that my innocence has gone. And then there are times when I desperately want a second child.

I have had 2 AF since. I had complications after the delivery with a bit of retained placenta, and kept bleeding. However, when I went back to see the GP on the last bout of bleeding and my cervix was closed, and they thought it was a short period. Then I had another one, 28 days later. Did OPK and got positive this month.

Big congratulations on BFP!

Poppy Number Jacks is loopy! We watch Show Me Show Me, and then on it comes. I often wonder if makes DD have odd thoughts about our sofa??

Will write again soon, but have to go, DD has woken from nap.
x

farfallarocks · 14/10/2011 12:28

progesterone update just got my results back and am at 29 this month so that is a vast improvement on 20.

Yay

MandaHugNKiss · 14/10/2011 11:39

So long as you start the process of applying for it, I doubt you'll need to pay even if you haven't yet received the card. Just explain to the dentist you're pregnant (well, you'll have to anyway!) and awaiting your exemption card in the post.
