If you have miscarried and are ready to TTC again, come and join us in the WTF cycles with the odd VIP ticket to the padded cell for some serious mentalling (now known as Metalling)

Oh my my my Pie! Congratulations lady! Big Grin all round. Don't worry about symptoms, it's far too early. I had nothing until about 6 weeks.

Scarlet your story is so sad, I hope you get some answers soon. As the others have said, this is a great place to be and a lucky thread. Welcome to our mosh pit Smile

Great news Blue, I would wait to see what they say at the 12 week scan re. dates. Based on the scans my dates are all over the place but I know when I Ov'd due to the OPKs so my MW is happy to go with what I think even though the sonographer said that wouldn't be possible.

IQ what a mare you've been having with work. Hope HR are helping and you're getting it sorted? I really struggled after DD was born and was completely shocked at how out of control I was, so I would take all the help you can get in the early days. We ended up getting a postnatal doula for two half days per week. She was an absolute godsend as DH had to go back to work before his paternity leave had ended. She really helped with breastfeeding (I struggled), settling baby and helping with washing etc. If you can afford to get someone, even just a cleaner, I would definitely recommend it.

19 weeks for me today, heard baby's heartbeat with my doppler last night. 140 bpm so right on the deciding line between boy and girl Grin. My anomaly scan is on the 9th of Nov which seems like ages away.

PieMistress · 21/10/2011 13:12

Thanks peeps!!! I think given my shitty shits FSH level (12.7 - so seems to be a miracle I even conceived judging by what i've read online - they won't even consider you for IVF with those kind of numbers) and crap progesterone this feels like a bit of a miracle, but it's only one step on a very long road that I need to make it safely down! I am sure that the vitamins have helped though (conception multi-vits, 500mg of vitamin C, extra Vitamin D3, 50mg of B6, oh and the manuka honey and acupuncture! but who knows, I managed to conceive before without rattling like a junkie!!)

I have my follow up appt at the fertility centre next month (how ironic to conceive the month we start having all the tests and DP had to produce a sample at the hospital, he said it was utterly AWFUL and he had sore nether regions for a few days afterwards as it took him a while in the 'environment'!)

I know this elation might only last a short time and a repeat occurance of what happened in May might come and bite me on the bum, but I need to try and stay positive!

far good luck with the dildo cam! I had one recently at the clinic and it was really good seeing everything, that's when she saw my follicle and said I should go home and have sex that night! Hope the hen night goes well x It wasn't until I had had the m/c that I realised how many of my friends have had one or two. I can now count 7 friends that it's happened to, it's so horribly common :(

blue I think a couple of days out is fine. I wouldn't be concerned unless it was more than a week. The 12 week scan with DS brought me forward 5 days than what my LMP was showing plus I pretty much knew the day I conceived and when he was due. I think different areas have different guidelines with how long they let you go overdue. In Grampian it is 12 days, I think some places it's 10, and some 14. My friend didn't get induced until she was 17 days overdue (no beds)!!! Sorry, I have digressed! Are you going to find out the sex if you can?

pebs are you using FF or anything to chart your cycles? if you are waiting a couple of months for the mega folic acid to get in your system that ties in nicely with being able to have a few glasses of fizz at Christmas! :) Fingers crossed you get a New Years bpf xx

farfallarocks · 21/10/2011 12:55

Ohhhh pie yeeeeeeeeeessssssssssssssssssssssssssss

So excited for you although I also totally understand the metalling. Keeping all crossed for you. I think the B6 is absolutely fine to keep taking and looks like it has worked its magic already (agreed on the hair/nail front!)

blue fantastic news about the scan, wonderful

scarlet sorry to say welcome :(

Two totally understand needing to get your head in the right place before starting again. First AF after MC totally floored me and brought back all the awful feelings.

Had dinner with some girlfriends last night who know what has happened. Turns out 3 people from our extended gang also had MCs. I am beginning to realise how very common this in having thought I was the only freak in real life. So sad that others are going through this misery.

Off for my fanny cam at 3pm today and strangely looking forward to it Grin

Planning to give my womb a jolly good talking to on screen about how we treat guests in this house going forwards.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend, I have a hen night (which I had been worrying about when pregnant last time thinking how I was going to cover up the not drinking :(

BlueCrane · 21/10/2011 11:32

Ooh ooh... I x-posted too!!

pie Grin Grin Try to stay calm if you can...deeeeep breaths....I found that using a digi each week for the first few weeks and watching the 'number of weeks from conception' going up each week very comforting so might be worth a try. Huge congrats though!!

BlueCrane · 21/10/2011 11:26

Happy Friday all...roll on the weekend and half term for those with LO's in school and easy traffic for the rest of us Smile

Thanks so much for all your kind words?I felt really bad for keeping you all waiting yesterday Blush

Martha hope you have a lovely weekend away!!

baby how are you doing? When?s your MW appointment?is it next week?

pie Sad about your Granny?really hope she starts to get a bit better now she?s in hospital and that all?s well next week whilst you?re away! My Grandad isn?t very well at the moment but is 1000?s miles away deep in the Southern Hemisphere where my Mum lives so I just get long-distance updates but it?s so hard not knowing how much longer he?ll keep going (he's 95 now)!

I?m feeling all a bit Confused on Tuesday the MW put me at 8+2 when I thought I was exactly 8 weeks (based on LMP), the sonographer then put me at 8+4 yesterday though not sure whether he based that on what he saw/measured or whether he just added 2 days to what the MW had written! My confusion stems from the fact that if I count backwards using their dates I end up before my LMP started Hmm so a bit odd?they changed the EDD as a result as well from 31/05 to 27/05?!?! I don?t mind too much at the moment but obviously it will have a bearing later on if I end up being late etc WRT how long they leave it to happen naturally etc. I guess this should all get ?ironed out? at the 12w dating scan?! Also just found out that the sonographer we saw yesterday was the same one who told my friends they were going to have a little DS who turned out to be a DD and had to leave the hospital in a babygrow covered in tractors to go home to her nice nursery decorated in blue Shock He was very swift with the scan I must say!! I had barely realised all was ok by the time he'd finished!!

pebspop · 21/10/2011 11:18

omg just xposted. congrats pie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pebspop · 21/10/2011 11:18

twoweek not sure if you will see this but don't feel that you need to leave this thread. i am waiting to ttc as i need to take my high dose folic acid first for a couple of months and i want to make sure my cycles are ok first as well as i waited 12 weeks for af to come after mc. also dh wants to wait as we rushed into it last time and he thinks it better to know where the cycles are at and all that jazz. it's nice to be able to come on here and go mental about af ov and all the other stuff before ttc.

scarlet i had a mmc at my 20 week scan. i think it had happened around 17 weeks and i was induced as well. my waters didn't break though. i found out from the pm that i had blood clots in the placenta and need to take asprin and heparin injections to thin my blood next time. hope you get answers from the pm. i know it's personal choice but would you not rather wait to ttc until you have the results in case there is something you need to do from bfp that you won't know about if you get pg quickly? i need to take asprin as soon as i get the bfp and i have to take high dose folic acid before ttc.

pie have a good holiday. hope your grandma is ok.

blue glad the scan went well.

PieMistress · 21/10/2011 11:07

Okay guys, at first I was afraid now i'm PETRIFIED!

It's a bfp!

f, f, f, f, f, f, f, f, f, f

I am totally and utterly bricking it. My last bfp was also right before we went on holiday for a week (then m/c a week after we got back) and i'm shit scared the same thing will happen again.

I'm actually lost for words at the moment. No symptoms either to speak off which is making me panic already (am 12dpo)

Think I need to crowd surf in the mosh pit for a while whilst making my ears bleed from hard core techno music.

PieMistress · 20/10/2011 22:36

missscarlett big hugs, sounds like you have been through a tough time. Please come and join us. As martha said this is a wonderful thread, full of support whenever you need it xx We have the mosh pit full of metalling! I haven't talked to many people in RL about my miscarriage. It was too painful for a while but is getting easier now and only a couple of friends know we are TTC again.

martha we booked Alnmouth in the end as I managed to haggle £65 off the price :) so that kind of swung it for us. The cottage in Beadnell looked gorgeous and was right across from the beach (but there was a road inbetween) but being a typical tight Scot we went for the £80 cheaper option! Am so looking forward to a break and hopefully it will stay dry so we can have some nice bike rides and play on the beach. Have a fab time at the zoo! :)

blue whoop fantastic news on the scan! You must be so relieved and happy! What great news! It's been a good scan week!

I'm up far too late again! It's been a busy old week chez Pie (couple of transport near crises - van broke down outside DS's nursery then just noticed last night that our car MOT expires on Monday!).

Had a bit of sad news from my dad tonight. My granny (aged 91) was taken into hospital as she's been very de-hydrated (she still lives on her own about a mile from me) and my dad doesn't think she will get out again :( :( I really hope that isn't the case and now i'm worried incase anything happens when we are on holiday. Fingers crossed she will be fine and we can go and visit with DS in his Halloween costume next Sunday x

Big wave to all the other lovely ladies on this thread! x

babysaurus · 20/10/2011 21:34

MsScarlet I am so sorry to read your story. You sound remarkably positive all things considering! Stranger support may be a good move for a while for your next BFP, which will hopefully be not too far away. x

MarthasHarbour · 20/10/2011 21:12

msscarlett welcome to the mosh pit, so sorry for your loss, what a sad story Sad this is a wonderful thread however and i personally have had a huge amount of support from these ladies.

twoweekwonder i understand why you are leaving us, we are all here for you when you decide to come back but dont rush, and take good care of yourself. Good luck xx

blue yay for 20mm of loveliness! Grin sooo pleased for a bouncing bean Smile

pie ok so Northumberland, i havent been to Alnmouth for years and it is v pretty but to be honest there is not a lot round there other than Alnwick and Craster, which are nice market towns and Craster is the home of the famous kippers! My own personal choice would be Beadnell, we used to have a camping holiday there every year when i was a nipper. You are right next to Seahouses, a boat trip to the Farne Islands is a must if you have your sea legs! And next to Seahouses is my favourite place in the world Bamburgh, the home of Grace Darling (who i was in a previous life dont you know) she died a heroine after saving the lives of fishermen when she was 19... there is a museum in Bamburgh and her home still stands. You also have Budle Bay in Bamburgh and Holy Island (Lindisfarne) nearby. Am not biased much but my choice would be Beadnell.

OK so we are away this weekend so wont get to MN Angry but i shall catch up with you all on Monday. (Downton Abbey on sunday night)

BlueCrane · 20/10/2011 20:45

Welcome msscarlett so sorry to hear about the rough time you've had...sounds so tough Sad please come and make yourself comfy in our lovely thread...these ladies are truly fab and we are v v happy to provide support through your TTC and hopefully next pregnancy too! SWI is 'sex with intent' which i'm sure you well know as the times when we need to seduce our other halves because we know it's the right time to be DTD IYSWIM Wink although I must confess to sharing the term SWI with my DH but he found it all rather amusing and liked having a 'code word' for when the time was right!!

I seem to have hit my wall of tiredness so am going to head off to bed...so sorry again for keeping you all waiting today...I can't access MN on my phone otherwise would've updated you much sooner!! Sleep well all...

MsScarlettInTheLibrary · 20/10/2011 20:31

oh and what is SWI?

MsScarlettInTheLibrary · 20/10/2011 20:30

Can I join in?

I'm only a week on from my second miscarriage, but I want to TTC again straight away. I miscarried my first baby at 13 weeks just after my 12 week scan where it was fine and kicking, that was in 2005. I had my DD after that and got pregnant with this most recent one this summer. Again a happy baby at the twelve week scan, this time a happy baby on a 14 week reassurance scan, a loud heartbeart at 16+5 MW appointment, lots of kicks, but my waters broke at 17+4 and labour was induced after no heartbeat was found. We're awaiting post mortem results.

I have my BFN, though, I feel all healed up physically, my body tends to be fast at things like that and we've DTD successfully - I'm happy to TTC again though angry that I have to. Could use some support though. After fourteen months of waiting to try, three months of trying (we were lucky there) and three months of pregnancy keeping it all a secret from even closest family and friends we finally told them all and then of course I MCed. Now I don't even know what to say to them about the future, or another pregnancy, if it comes. Can I opt for stranger support instead?

babysaurus · 20/10/2011 19:34

thank god for that!

fab news Blue, Grin

Poppyjen · 20/10/2011 19:14

Hooray Blue that's brilliant news, congratulations :)

MandaHugNKiss · 20/10/2011 19:10

Yeah! I've been on tenterhooks that we hadn't heard from you blue! Fab, fab, news and I'll forgive you celebrating instead of prioritising us!

TWW I so, so understand where you are. The time will come. It's important to feel your loss, I think, as painful as it is. I wish I could wave a wand for you... but you will get there, honest. We'll still be here, ready to offer any support you need once you feel ready to move on. Take lots of care.

BlueCrane · 20/10/2011 19:07

I'm here!!! x-post!! Grin

babysaurus · 20/10/2011 19:03

blue where are you?

bluuuuuuuuuue?

BlueCrane · 20/10/2011 18:47

So sorry to keep you all waiting for news...DH and I went out for a celebratory lunch and then I had to drop him to work but all after seeing little bean all healthy and 20mm long with a little heartbeat plodding away on the screen Grin Grin still can?t really get my head around it to be honest but mini-blue-bean is there and well!!!

Now to catch up with you all...

missg Grin for high five mini-giraffe Grin

Martha so sorry you?ve had such irritating ?ghost? symptoms but glad you?re feeling better today.

poppy yeah for the return of EWCM Smile I have had the jelly like stuff before too...oh the joys!!!

manda thanks for the ?holding? I was a bag of nerves this morning!!

twoweekwonder so sorry you are finding things so tough at the moment ? it?s important to take the time that you need and we are all here to help and hold your hand when you feel ready for TTC again.

Pebs the way these things go it would be typical for a small mishap with contraception to lead to a sneaky sperm making its way to a rendezvous with an egg when you least expect it!!

Sure I've missed people Blush but brain not totally with it tonight!!! Has been a crazy day!!

MandaHugNKiss · 20/10/2011 17:43

When I was pregnant with DD and suffering the most horrendous sickness (I lost two stone whilst pregnant with her!) the doctor prescribed me high dose B6 to try and alleviate the nausea so I'm thinking it's perfectly safe to carry on taking, pie

(It didn't help; woe was me)

PieMistress · 20/10/2011 16:08

martha font of all northumberland knowledge! We have narrowed it down to a cottage in either Alnmouth or Beadnell, which would you recommend? They both have their pros and cons ....sorry AF is playing evil games! I usually feel quite weak and a bit pukey when she shows her face :( We have taken DS to a few farms and he LOVES it, especially feeding the horses but one nipped his finger last weekend and he was a bit miffed about it. He keeps grabbing grass with his hands and throwing it at the horses!

two sending you lots of hugs xx The monthly reminder of the evil witch hits you where it hurts the most doesn't it. For me, it's always a reminder of what was lost. Please keep in touch with us!

blue hope the scan went well, we are all here waiting for you xx

pebs, poppy I have also had having jelly like blobs of CM! Get those missg and manda heels on tonight! :) :) :)

far how are you feeling on the B6? I swear my nails are stronger and my hair does feel a bit thicker then usual (it's awfully thin at the best of times, pah!). When is your next appt with the consultant?

missg whoop whoop for minig high five's! Amazing and makes me feel all warm inside!

IQ hope you are snuggled up with some nice box sets! Am so glad to hear you are getting things sorted with HR xxx Hopefully you can work something out with DH being home for the birth, do you have a back up birth partner? I thought the forces were more understanding than that TBH given that your DH is away from home so much of the time. When is he back ? x

Waves to manda (when is 12 week scan?), shimmery (GRRRRRRR for evil witchness) and baby (has the spotting stopped?) who else have I missed

Ok, I think I might need to jump full on into the mosh pit here, no holds barred. I just got my 2nd progesterone result (from Monday) and it was 57.8 (!!) holy crap so it's gone up since Friday's result which doesn't in itself mean anything as my surge could have been on Monday and not last Friday. I felt physically sick though when the receptionist told me that. The thing is for women with normal progesterone levels that wouldn't be significant BUT after months of under 25 it's like music to my ears!

Does anybody know if (and it's a big if) I am miraculously pg I can carry on taking the extra B6? I would be petrified to stop it. God I need to get a grip, i'm babbling over the shock of my blood test results. Think I might have to get a test and POAS tomorrow.

TwoWeekWonder · 20/10/2011 15:36

Hello ladies,

After the misery of AF arriving, I have been thinking hard about whether I am ready to TTC yet and I think the answer is no. I think I need to give myself more time and will come back here in a few months time.

I am having a hard time of getting over the miscarriage. I have so many pregnant friends in RL (10 at the last count), and more seem to be popping up by the minute like little mushrooms. I wish them all wonderful pregnancies, but it is such a poignant reminder of what I have lost. And some are very tactless, (everyone knows about mc because it happened after my scan). I think this is partly what has been driving me to TTC so soon after quite a late mmc. But I think I need a bit more time.

So I wish all of you luck with TTC and with your pregnancies, and hope when I come back, you are all up the duff!

Missgiraffe1 · 20/10/2011 15:14

Been popping by to check for Blues update.

and, yeah to EWCM and jelly plugs!! Grin

pebspop · 20/10/2011 14:10

back to jelly plugs - i had mine on thusrday night after having period type pains all evening. fertility friend says i ov'd on friday so must be a good thing.

hope it's going well for blue
