More coming your way poppy really hope things sort themselves out and become much clearer eitherway in the next couple of days!! If AF doesn't show then I would strongly recommend getting a digi test with a conception indicator as I found it SO much more reassuring to see words rather than be peering at lines, and also it gives an indication of the hormone levels etc...I'm not a charter myself but how were your temps this morning? Still high? (seem to remember someone saying they stay high when pg rather than dip for AF Confused ).

There's lots of things to keep busy with at this time of year so hang in there!!

Poppyjen · 17/11/2011 11:03

Yup you are all right, and to be honest I wouldn't be stressing this much if I had done the tests early but it is 15 dpo (possibly 14 dpo) today and no AF. Pink cm has gone now too.

I really do wish that AF would hurry up if she's coming! Now there's a turnaround, wishing for LP to hurry up and end already Grin

I do understand the stats - the doctor "helpfully" reminded me of them after my mc in the summer but this cycle I am just so confused about what is going on after having a classic temp drop which would normally indicate AF on her way and then sudden rise again. I just wish my body would be a bit more like the "average" , at least in this area anyway!

Just did a quick rough calculation and if the cycle runs the same way next month as this (i.e. ovulation around CD27) I will be testing around Christmas Day.... could be lovely, or disappointing, way to enjoy the festive period....

Anyway, I have given myself a good talking to and feel a bit better now. I am going to busy myself with lots of things to take my mind off this whole thing then hopefully things will be resolved one way or another over the next few days.

Thanks for your kind words ladies, as ever, you are an absolute godsend Smile

leedy · 17/11/2011 10:46

Oh poppy, that does sound stressful. When I was TTC with DS I also stopped doing early pregnancy tests because on two occasions I got faint positives then my period - again, my doctor said it was incredibly common for your body to go "pregnant! oh no, hang on..." and most people would never notice it if they didn't do pg tests. But do see your GP just in case.

farfallarocks · 17/11/2011 10:23

Oh poppy that is such sad news :(
You should definitely go to your GP. But just to give you some reassurance, the consultant I am seeing said that out of every 100 conceptions only 30 progress to a stage where a pregnancy test will pick it up (not first response but a less sensitive one) a week later. He said it is so common to conceive, in fact most people do in a lot of cycles but without it ever going anywhere, it does not necessarily mean anything is wrong. He is very anti first response for this reason and I have decided not to use them any more. With my last chemical, it was the only test that picked up a positive, the internet cheapies gave me negatives.

Having said that, it is definitely worth seeing your GP for some reassurance?

pie how horrific your colleague sounds, chocs are a nice touch but not a substitute for not being a twonk in the first place!

I went to the hospital today and had another 16 vials of blood taken (!!!)
They are checking for all sorts of things and repeating a lot of the tests I have already had privately (I have shown them the results) but I suppose its worth a shot. They are also testing for immune issues so I am very interested to see what comes back.

BlueCrane · 17/11/2011 09:55

poppy sending for you...the rollercoaster that is TTC is not pleasant and so sorry for all the ups and downs you have at the moment!!! Really hope the pink CM amounts to nothing and is just some late implantation bits coming out...

pie grrrr at your stupid colleague, chocolates or no chocolates he's still sounds like an ignorant so-and-so. Hope you have a better day today!

I was able to have a text conversation with my friend yesterday and seems as though it's probably all passed naturally and the hospital have asked her to test again early next week to see how the hormone levels are doing, apparently they'd already dropped a lot by this weekend Sad so I shall be dropping some of my left over IC's over to her as she wants to save her last digi test for her next bfp rather than waste it checking for a bfn!! We're having breakfast together on saturday as well so will be a good chance to chat and probably cry too

Right...best get back to work

Poppyjen · 17/11/2011 09:43

Thanks Pie and Pebs - I think I will go to GP next week to discuss things. So frustrating! Obviously I will keep my fingers crossed that the pink cm comes to nothing and things are just taking a while to build up....

You are right of course, to get to 15dpo without AF is a great improvement on my previous LP lengths and the earlier ovulation was also a positive change. Just feel so worn out by the constant ups and downs of this, one day hoping, then hopes dashed, then the next day hoping again. I would just like an answer one way or another so I can get out of the rut I have been in for the past few days Smile

I hope that you are all having good Thursdays so far, its nearly the weekend everyone!

pebspop · 17/11/2011 09:22

sorry to hear that poppy i would visit the gp and see what they say. they might be able to do something for you or give you advice. remember though you have increased you lp this month so you are moving forward.

pie that bloke sounds like a dick. i hate it when people behave like nobheads at work. i haven't thought about a cbfm. if i am not pg when i get back from oz i might get one. i think dh will have a fit if he sees it - he freaked out at the thermometer at first!

ff is showing ov on day 21 now after putting todays temp in. it has just ignored that rogue low temp. i think ov'ing late is normal for me as i concieved late last time i was pg. just hope i have longer than 7 day luteal phase this month. i am 6dpo today so hope af stays away until next week.

PieMistress · 17/11/2011 08:48

Oh poppy i'm so sorry to hear that. After all the faint BFPs of yesterday as well - grrrrrr. Might be worth a visit to your GP if this is the second one to see if they can refer you? xx

Poppyjen · 17/11/2011 08:05

Well allegedly 15 dpo today. I POAS this morning using my First Response and unfortunately BFN, and some pink cm Sad . Temp slightly down again too....

This happened in August too - faint BFPs and then AF, I am guessing this was another chemical. Obviously it isn't over until its over but not looking too good for me this time. I'll keep you posted.

leedy · 16/11/2011 21:18

pie, I rage on your behalf at your coworker. What a cockfarmer. Even if he did apologize.

And ooh, no, she didn't give me any pills, just the vile tea. I will ask her about them next week, thanks!

PieMistress · 16/11/2011 20:32

Hi Peeps,

I have had a f* shocking day. It involved a wanker of a colleage who came raging up to me with an email and said, quote " if i've told you once, i've told you a hundred times" i'm like WTF you TWAT! I'd done some work (which was correct and he hadn't even looked at FFS) He had an old email and things had changed (he didn't let me get a word in edgeways to explain before his rant). I tried to show him then he wanted to draw a diagram about it and I politely said I didn't need his diagram I understood what it looked like and he said "well, you obviously don't". I was so livid I couldn't believe somebody was actually speaking to me like that at work and just burst into tears and couldn't stop crying, I couldn't even breathe! I was so fucked off somebody could speak like that. My boss doesn't give a shit,he only cares about what people thing about him and offered no sympathy at all. He's utterly useless. I've been distraught all day. Said wanker colleage did bring me a box of chocolates after lunch and apologise which is fair enough but doesn't take away from the fact he was so horrible and made me sob in an open plan office (cheers for that).

On a brighter note there is another colleague who is running the London marathon in aid of Tommy's charity (miscarriage, stillbirth etc). His letter asking for sponsorship explained that they had gone through 2 miscarriages and he wants to raise money for research/awareness etc. I nearly started crying (again)!

Go poppy! Go the FMU tomorrow! Will you be 14dpo then? I used to take tests apart then hold them up to the light and all sorts! Some ladies on Baby and Bump used to post photos of their tests taken introverted (IYSWIM! where the line is light and the test is dark to make the line stand out more!) I can sympathise about the toddler shoes! I was in Clarks on Sunday getting DS to try on some for winter and just about had a heart attack at the price! He was much more interested in a pair of sparkly red trainers but he got a big firm 'no' from mummy! I am very excited and will be logging on just after 8am :) :)

blue so sorry to hear about your chum. My friend recently had her 2nd miscarriage. It's lovely that you can be there for her xx

far fab news on the extend LP! I really do think that these B6/B Vitamins do some good :)

eve great news on the scan and your nuchal measurement sounds fine! They also use 3.5mm here as a low/high risk cut off point.

wellies if you like Fertility Friend on facebook you get half price VIP membership for a year (I quickly liked it then unliked it then removed the post from my page)

leedy did she also give you any pills? Mine did which I ended up not taking, (they are called Tiao Jing Cu Yun Wan) see if your acupunturist thinks they will be of benefit, if so I'll post them to you xx

pebs have you thought a Clearblue Monitor? They can also be quite good in that they give you low/high/peak fertility days? Not cheap though but possibly worth considering. I think there is a thread of devotees on here!

baby thanks for your advice. It's a constant worry at the moment. I still haven't booked a reassurance scan for this w/end,think my head is still buried in the sand!

manda CONGRATULATIONS! I thought you were already Mrs Manda for some reason :) We have had a 4 year engagement! Just never got round to setting the date then DS came along! What is your ring like? I love sparkles! :) :)

Big wave to everybody i've missed !!x

Poppyjen · 16/11/2011 19:42

Eve great news about the scan, it is soooo frustrating when people make throw-away comments that are so inconsiderate. I am so pleased you were able to get the reassurance that you need.

Blue Sad for your friend. It is heartbreaking, even when it is early. I am sure that you will be an excellent support for her in this difficult time.

Far definitely pleased with the results of the Bvits for us so far! That's great news on lengthening LP.

As for me well no spotting still. I POAS again this afternoon (I can't resist now - I happened to be passing a pharmacy and I happened to pop in and there happened to be some next to the counter....) and another faint faint line. I will test again tomorrow with FMU with my remaining First Response then that's it until I break out the CB Digis at the weekend (presuming I am still free of AF)

I felt distinctly odd today too, a bit like I was motion-sick. Sort of dizzy and a little bit nauseous. Not helped by DS who trod in a huge lump of dog poo in his new (literally an hour old) v. overpriced winter boots and I then had to spend 20 mins this evening scrubbing it off. [Blurgh emoticon].

As an aside...£46 for a pair of leather boots for a toddler. FFS. That wasn't even the most expensive pair. [mutter mutter mutter]

Anyway, back on topic I feel slightly less bonkers for breaking open the tests and squinting at them when I am not in actual fact testing early Grin

I am daring myself to hope that the line will be more obvious tomorrow and if so I will tell DH, I am a bit scared to this evening in case he looks at the tests and can't see anything!

Metal Metal Metal Metal Metal............................

farfallarocks · 16/11/2011 15:04

Oh excellent news poppy!! I am also a test taker aparter and here is to a nice strong line developing this week!

Another Bvits success story?
AF here for me but have a 13 day LP and only one day of spotting before so a huge improvement, hooray.

Great news on the scan blue but your poor poor friend. I am sure you will be a lovely and supportive friend to her as she has been to you. It will be comforting for her to speak to someone who has been through similar.

eve great news that the scan went better, how annoying that the first lady worried you unecessarily

pebs I use the digital opks, no temping, and I find them very consistent, I using get a smiley face about 2/3 days after EWCM starts and I can confirm ovulation with sore boobs about a day later!!!

welliesandpyjamas · 16/11/2011 12:02

Gosh, what an emotional rollercoaster ride it was catching up on the thread!! Don't know where to start...hugs and congrats to the lovely stuff, hugs and thoughts to the sad stuff x

On CD9 now, getting quite exciting about the fertile days on the weekend (tell me that's normal!) and hoping poor DH gives himself a break and enjoys the 'destressing' Wink I'm running out of free VIP days on fertilityfriend though so have asked me sister (whose DH has had the snip) to sign up to give me five more days!! Just enough to get me past ovulation with the chart detail at least! I think it would be quite sad if I asked my mum and dh to sign up, really Grin

BlueCrane · 16/11/2011 11:42

Great news eve Grin

Well, I have just had some Sad news...one of my best friends MC'd last week but they only told us this morning as didn't want to tell us before our scan yesterday. She has two DD's but MC'd at 20weeks in between them. This time she was still v early (we didn't know they were pg yet), only 6weeks I think but still horrible. She was such a huge support for me after my MC this year and I really don't know how to support her this time around since I have my good news and she very much doesn't...and DH and I feel really humbled that they would hold off telling us so we could enjoy our good news first. Just really pants...especially as her DH wasn't totally sure about going to DC3 but think she will now be ever more determined so they could have an interesting few months ahead working that through....they'd kept it v quiet and not told anyone they were trying for DC3 but it probably explains why she's been v quiet the last few weeks in terms of asking how I've been etc. Oh, just such horrible news...

leedy · 16/11/2011 11:32

eve, glad to hear that the scan was reassuring!

eve34 · 16/11/2011 11:16

Good morning all

Wow what a lot has happened

Blue glad the scan went well - we are getting closer in dates now am 12 weeks due 31st May - changed from 3rd June to 1st. Although know it is only as rough idea. DS was 2 weeks early.

Poppy - great news BFP is a BFP

Pie - I am sure you know that some pains are quite normal and from my neurosis even painful pains that stop you moving and breathing are ok. hang on in there.

Baby - hope you are ok. When is your scan?

Manda - oooohhh lovely. I like a good shiney thing. Congratulation what a busy year next year is going to be for you.

We have been scaned the lady was a bit put out that the proivate scan lady had worried us and she did measurements and said they don't cause her any concern - although a little thinker not over 3.5 that would lead to more tests at this time. So measured at 2.30 had bloods done so will wait for the call in a weeks time. I am not worried it is going to come back hig due to my age anyway but there were no other indicators.

Followed by such lovely news DP decided to start shouting at everyone in the car park who couldn't drive missed the exit and got cross with me as I told him to calm down! And he says that I don't handle pressure well. Have sent him off to work will cook something nice for tea and have a nice evening together I am sure.

Right I best get on with some work.

pebspop · 16/11/2011 11:06

sounds like a bfp to me poppy!!

congrats manda when will you get married? i loved getting married!

put my temp in ff today and it is still not showing ov this month. why did i have to have that stupid low temp a couple of days ago? without that it would be showing ov. i think i have ov'd as my temps for the last week or so (except the rogue low one) are higher than i had been getting on previous cycles before ov.

i think i will have to invest in some opks next cycle so get ready for the swi mission in dec/jan!!

BlueCrane · 16/11/2011 10:14

Grin Grin Grin lots of good news on here today!!!

Yeah for lines poppy, fantastic news!!! But feel free to bury your head for a while!! I bought myself some of the CB Digis with the conception indicators from Amazon (much cheaper) and tested each week (for the first few weeks) to check the hormone levels were increasing which I found very comforting seeing the number of weeks from conception increasing!!

And huge congrats to manda on the sparkliness of engagement too!!!

baby how are you doing? Ok I hope...

pie the pains could just be stretching, try to not worry too much if you can.

leedy glad the accu went well, despite the hideous tea, here's hoping to swift results!!

eve hope all was well this morning and NT results clearer this time!

Strangely my cold feels a lot better today...think I may have been pretty stressed out yesterday waiting for the scan and I also slept better last night which will almost certainly have helped too!!

leedy · 16/11/2011 09:22

Ooooh, poppy, that sounds like good news! Wooooohooo!

And congrats, bluecrane on your good scan, and congrats to manda on her engagement. Gosh, lots of good news around here.

Went to acupuncturist yesterday who needled me, gave me vile herbal tea, and said she reckoned she could get me all shipshape for conception pretty quickly. Fingers crossed.

MandaHugNKiss · 16/11/2011 09:18

Hey, don't get excited all you like, I'm excited for you!

AND! It's funny you should say that about changing the mode as I have been thinking for a couple of days that it looks quite feasible that your O was CD28 instead of 27.

As for it seeming late, I don't think you've got too much to worry about - I've read that the whole process of implantation takes around four days to complete. If that's the case, even taking your chart on face value, the process was over by 12dpo and the 'average' time to implant is 7-10dpo. It must have started around 8dpo. That sounds pretty good to me! (also search FF for charts with 'late' positive pregnancy tests (I think it's after 15dpo) LOADS of them, with good outcomes.)

I can talk you up all I want - but it was me with my head in the sand seeing the lines but still not really admiting it to myself for weeks so I really do understand your hesitance. But poppy you've done it! And I am excited for you

Jewellry shops, you say?

Poppyjen · 16/11/2011 09:00

Oh Manda congratulations, that is wonderful! Hope you have fun staring at the sparkle (I still do - its especially good in jewelery shops, they have the best lighting for sparkliness Grin )

Well yes you are right of course I did test this morning after another high temp and this time I could see a faint line without having to take the thing apart first. Not feeling excited yet though, I'd like it to get a bit darker before I let myself be happy about it. I didn't use a clearblue digi this morning as the line is still too faint (even on super sensitive superdrug test) so I didn't want to waste it.

12 dpo seems very late for implantation.... but you are right that is what it looks like on the chart. Interestingly if I set the interpretation mode to "research" instead of "advanced" it reckons I O'ed a day later meaning I would be 13 dpo today and that temp that looks like an implantation dip would be at 11dpo.

Apologies to those who don't chart, I realise that last paragraph will have made no sense to you Blush

Anyhoo - there it is, a very faint line.....

MandaHugNKiss · 16/11/2011 08:26

blue fantastic news! Glad you had a meal you enjoyed. I like Wagamamas but I do feel slightly cheated in there - it's good but not great and I am usually left feeling wishing I'd had a thai instead. Went to a nice restuarant last night and couldn't eat it Confused My sickness has all but gone but food aversion still rearing its head. Fun!

poppy I didn't get up to check your chart. Oh no. Look, I can't seem to sleep from about 6-6.30 onwards even though I'm shattered so I laid there a while and then stalking you popped into my head Grin

Lady, whatever is going on with you (and I think it might be implantation at 12dpo...) no spotting and 14 dpo is a great improvement on spotting at 11dpo. I;m sure you must have tested by now... even if it's crazy-lady faint, a line is a line. And, as I said, even if no line your cycle is shaping up to really be ideal to conceive.

baby Did you contact the epu?! I hope the bleed/spotting has settled?

pie Spring chicken? Me? Ha ha! 38 yesterday. I know I'm not exactly over the hill but something about my birthday this year did feel more significant. Didn't help that DP (who is 34) kept saying '38, I'm with someone who is 38!' (it was in jest, but still!)

Speaking of DP, it seems he's my DF now - It didn't come as a shock as we went to Hatton gardens on monday to pick up the ring, but I can't seem to take my eyes off the sparkle! Grin No, he didn't get on one knee, if anyone's wondering. We've been speaking about it for some time and as we're saving for a house it seemed sensible to roll the two events together to save a few pounds. Didn't really work out that way though!

babysaurus · 15/11/2011 22:41

Blue thats great news! Grin

Pie sore tummies and backaches do not spell disaster. I know it's hard not to worry but please try not to. If all else fails, see if you can wrangle an EPU apt in a week or so. x

Poppy I am now very intrigued! Will be avidly logging on tomorrow to see if there are any developments! Good luck!

PieMistress · 15/11/2011 21:49

crossed posts with blue fab news sweetie! :)

crossed posts with poppy too! Ahhhh I have taken apart many a test too :) They lure me from their place in the bin (so bad!). Ooooo, wasn't FMU today?! I am very excited for your test tomorrow!

I have had a sore tummy and backache all day, no spotting but doesn't feel great. Maybe i'm just being paranoid.
