TTC after a Miscarriage - Dear Santa, beanies for crimbo, please!!

Well here we are! Hopefully htis one will take us up to crimbo, althoughthe way we gas, probably not!!

I MCed at 7 weeks and the EPU didn't offer me Anti-D (I'm RH neg) but my GP told me they were boardering on neglegent as you should have it after any PG, to term or otherwise, within 72 hours

I was told and read on prev link it was down to how many weeks you were when bleeding/mc.. 12 wks or more then anti is usually given

yeh nikki - they do take a while.

think i am losing my bran cells then mums.

did you have one this time or is it a d&c sort of thing. if that makes sense, i never had a d&c.

no they told me after the first one that i was rehsus -ve and thats why I had to have a needle in my bum after the op. I'm sure thats what I said.

Thats gonna bug me now, i'll go check hang on!

Mumswish - I thought you didn't know what Rhesus group you were. I'm sure you said a while back you had no idea. Now you are saying you were told after your first MC. I'm confused......

Having two different blood groups doesn't necessarily make your body attack it and even if they r diff it's the mother's that counts. my dad is rh- and my mam is rh+ but it doesn't matter that dad was rh-! but even if dp is rh+ it doesn't necessarily mean bad things they do the injection as a precaution not a cure! again hope this helps mw, x

diddle I would presume your blood type is on your notes at your drs or where you had your bloods done...fi you ask next time at drs or ring them they may tell you??

Found out I was after first mc when they gave me injection. Not having one this time. Dont know why.

Will find out what his blood type is anyway.

Glad to hear its not that, I thought that 2 different bloods made your body attack it, that what I thought could have caused a second mc. ahh well, if its meant to be it will be,

-ve supposed to be the rarer groups but I know loads of -ve...probably more than +ve...weird

when I went for bloods which was earlier than usual due to health history I had to pop into the MW and I asked if bloods ok and she told me what group I was and that on my next visit I would get a card with it on...although didn't get to the next visit

mil told me after mc that DH was -ve too....which kind of put my mind at rest as I hadn't read the quote I have just written on here at that time

just checked on the miscarriage association website re rh- and anti-d etc.

quote "There is no evidence to suggest that Rhesus D antibodies cause miscarriage" so please do not worry that this may of been the cause. x

mums just had a think about rh- and if the mc/s were because of that then I imagine they wouldn't have been missed mc, they would have happened immediately, hope this brings u a bit of comfort, x

sorry mums may have slightly misintrepted msg...don't blame your bloods I was told its more to do with nature and genetic make up of the foetus...

knowing your DF's blood type may help with anti-D queries at birth as dr told me 2 -ve bloods mean know requirement for this injection (am hoping this to be correct)

I think if you find out DF blood type it may help ... I found out after the event by mil that DH is -ve too so no need for anti-D worries.
