Period 3 days late but negative test - should I bother testing again?

Hi ladies

I'm four days late and had AF type cramps for over a week now along with back ache and last night a sharp stabbing pain in left side of stomach just for 30 seconds or so..

HPT this afternoon show negative :(

Hi I'm new here. I'm useless at keeping track of AF. However I'm pretty sure I am 13 days late. Never been late or missed an AF except when having my son. I tested this morning using an asda own test but BFN.

On Sunday I wiped (tmi sorry) and had a spot of light pink to brown on the tissue, so thought AF was on way as i have had some cramping. Still nothing but have the bloated feeling and also what i can only describe as tummy stretching feeling and back ache. I am not sure what's going on as my son is 11 so can not think back to him any ideas?

I'm currently 3 days late been Ttc for 9 months and every month I'm obsessed if I'm pregnant yet but this is driving me crazy , I've done 3 boots tests but negative and at the age of 39 I'm worried , had water infections every month for 10 months now and dr just gives me anti biotics and sends me on my way x

I'm in a similar boat - have always been very regular and am now 3 days late. Two tests so far and both negative :(

I had a miscarriage in mid-October at 11weeks, then a full period in mid-November so was hoping I might conceive again quickly....last time round we conceived at the first attempt. Had a negative test first last time then tested 3 days later and it was positive.

Think maybe my cycle is just haywire for a start, but am crossing my fingers until AF actually arrives....this is my first real experience of waiting/not knowing and it sucks!

I'm currently 3 days late now and I've done 3 tests. It is very unusual for me to be late, My cycle has been 26 days with the exception of last month it was 24 and now I'm on day 29!

It's possible I could be pregnant and for me to be so late then I feel like that's the only explanation but then I'm getting negative tests :( it's so frustrating not knowing one way or the other. With my little girl, I knew 2 days after my missed period when I tested and I didn't have any negative tests with her. Anyone in the same boat?

Hey-are any of you mums already before ttc here? I just wanted to check a theory! Have any of you tested negative a week after AF due and then positive and gone on to have girls? I have heard twice now that if you test positive late on after AF is due then carrying a girl and for a boy you get the BFP much earlier???!!!!
It seems to be true for my DS as I tested on day of ovulation and got a BFP and now very late but still testing negative!!!

i was once told that the cheap ebay tests are bette than the expesive ones and never believed it until this month. i cant explain it but i had a real feeling that i was pregnant so i kept peeing on my really cheap ebay stcks. i started getting very very faint lines from 10 dpo. i didnt believe it so the day before af was due i tested on a tesco and got my bfp. i was over the moon but did the most stupid thing and tested again the next morning with fmu, got a negative!!!!! straight to the gp with said fmu and also got bfn. i was so upset but didnt give up went back to tesco and got clearblue digi and used the same urine and got bfp 1-2 weeks. so what im saying is dont give up keep trying and buy some ebay cheapies. they are more reliable than the ones the nhs use!!!!!

Thanks, I suspect its not going to work out :( but still no AF yet... and no real sign either. Can't even console myself with wine, just in case!

Unfortunately I started spotting and have that heavy tummy feeling which means I would expect AF to start properly within the next 24 hours.... never mind there is always next month! On the bright side, I'm off to a wine tasting tonight so at least I can have a few glasses without feeling guilty!

Well I am out... AF arrived - looks like it was just a week late randomly. I assume I must have ovulated a week late for whatever reason and therefore missed it totallly! Ah well, back to day 1 and a new month.

Milly - first morning pee is meant to be most concentrated - try again tomorrow?! fingers crossed for you.

I'm in same boat now, well ish. i've only just started getting periods after illness a month ago, so I'm now late (if I have a normal cycle). Was due Friday, did a test sunday, BFN. Still waiting for AF though and no symptoms so far. Its probably because I now have dodgy cycles, wish I knew one way or the other though! the waiting is killing me. I have got another test, just don't want to use it unneccessarily, because I know that if I do one now and its still negative I'll only end up doing one every day until AF finally arrives!

Been lurkin on this thread for a couple of days. As far as I know - with regard to pee lol - you use your first morning pee, because it would be most concentrated with Hcg (if it's present) because you have been asleep for 8hourse give or take. But if you test during the day then your pee isn't as concentrated.

Does that make sense? :)

Just did a test and got a BFN - am now confused though as usually get signs before AF is coming and nothing so far - are these tests accurate if you do them in the day or should you only use your first sample of the day? !

Ahh daytonightbarbie, really sorry to hear that, glad you are sounding positive though - just think you can have a few glasses of champagne on your wedding day now!

No news hear, have been out to buy a test as no sign of AF either today but don't need to pee now... just need to wait and see now! Xx

No news from me yet, absolutely no sign of af boobs are still really tender so fingers crossed, tomorrow is the big day - I decided not to test early so fingers crossed it will all be good news in 24 hours! Hope you're all having a good weekend! Xx

Any news from anyone?

I took a first response this morning, still negative - but still no sign of AF. Just for interest, I took an ovulation test yesterday which was positive. On day 34! So have no idea what is up.

Bloody iPhone.... Ahhhh not agh!! And also last night not lady night! X

Agh thanks ladies, sat her with a glass of wine- if it's going to be 9 months of no drinkingthen I thought best to have one on the lady night! :) !!!xx

themightyskim I know how you feel about the testing front, most months I would have done about 3 tests by now but trying not to get my hope up too much... however I now possess the most sensitive of noses, even a pizza my DH was cooking last night made me queasy! I am out for a birthday lunch tomorrow so am thinking I might test in the morning incase I can't drink - fingers crossed!

daytonightbarbie, firstly congrats on your wedding, I got married this year - it was a fabtastic day and you will love it too! Maybe your body is reacting to all of the nervous energy you are creating and making your period late?

daytonightbarbie not nerves of steel just have been testing every month thinking jesus there must be a positive in here, was starting to get a bit embarrassed ha ha - trust me to hold back on the month I actually was!!!!
