Hi guys, I'm over my dissapointment of AF arriving and am looking forward to trying this month.

BTW what does bding or bd mean?

New to this!

hellomama · 30/12/2005 20:23

Completely agree Coriander73 ! Thats why I'm just going with the flow, and if its meant to be, its meant to be! Trying to be philisophical about it. I think DH has the same idea which is why he is being pretty relaxed about it all too... pretty scary thought having 2 running around though - but I guess it will happen at some point, so why not now!

Coriander73 · 30/12/2005 20:20

Welcome hellomama..!

I've been thinking that life is too short...that there's never a perfect situation...that we'll never have enough money, that the cost of living will only ever go up but hey..isn't it worth it? YES, YES, YES, YES!!!

Coriander73 · 30/12/2005 20:16

AF due 5th Jan! You'll all be the first to know...either way! Lush bath bombs...lush simply lush! Failing that, how about oysters?!!! Needs must and all..

hellomama · 30/12/2005 20:14

hello! can I join too?? Not sure if we are calling it 'TTC' at the moment, but we are throwing caution to the wind at every opportunity and I will be disappointed if AF arrives this month... we already have DS who is nearly 18 months. DH and I are both 26.

We are kind of at a crossroads with our lives and although we both have good jobs, we live far away from family. I think the general plan is that we're going to move back home, and being pg will be a good excuse to quit, with a bit of maternity leave sandwiched inbetween! DH however would prefer us to get jobs, etc sorted first and then baby later. But recently I have left the responsibility of contraception up to him (he knows how I feel) and so far he hasn't been bothered either! We'll wait and see what happens... This is month one for us.

I am a FP & sexual health nurse, with a strong interest in fertility awareness and contraception, so any questions, please let me know!

Good luck to us all!!!!!

compo · 30/12/2005 19:44

pussycat - I have the exact same problem with my dh. he's never up for it at the 'right' time of the month and it drives me insane!! Trace - my ds birthday is April Fools Day

peachygirl · 30/12/2005 19:42

Oh Pussycat I am sending you big hugs. (((hugs))) Trace and Coriander are right, it will get better and you are not being selfish. I was talking to a friend yesterday (who is verging on fertility treatment) and we were saying how different it was for men. They just don?t get it!
Coriander you give excellent advice!
We have MIL here at the moment so not even Bding for fun!
I had my birthday earlier this month, 5th Dec, Sagittarian!

pussycatmomma · 30/12/2005 19:32

cheers sweetie.... when will your af be due? if i am right in my calcs, i will be due on Jan 12th.

Coriander73 · 30/12/2005 19:30

A fellow Gemini!! Used to show interest when I was younger but not anymore ...chin up darlin'...

pussycatmomma · 30/12/2005 19:26

12th June. Why, are you any good at astrological predictions?
i know you are right, its just hard to switch off from thinking about it all isnt it.

Coriander73 · 30/12/2005 19:23

I know poppet I know....it will happen...give yourself time & try & enjoy unprotected sex for the first time in your life!!!! It's strange isn't it..you spend your whole life avoiding getting pregnant & then hey presto start trying & expect it to be a doddle...which in a lucky few cases it is...but for most of us takes a a tiny bit longer. I was taking to my cousin who took 5 months with the first but just one month with the second...have also just come back from a friends who fell first time with each but another friend who again took 4 months....so I guess when the time is right it will happen.....your baby IS there waiting for you!

When's your bday btw?! Don't worry if you'd rather not say.....

pussycatmomma · 30/12/2005 19:13

cori, nice to hear from you honeypie. I know you are right, you are giving very good advice, but even though i KNOW we are in agreement, i am silly and get all paranoid if he doesnt want to do it at the right time, thinking, "hes changed his mind, hes changed his mind, he doesnt really want to try after all!" i know it all sounds daft. Puss cat Whispers...........(((i just want my baby so much, id do anything for it to happen soon)))))))))))

Coriander73 · 30/12/2005 19:07

oh pussycat....I know what you mean. However the more stressed out you are with him & vice versa it's not going to make it any easier iyswim. I say, just stress the importance of only having a short window of opportunity each month & that you really need to make the most of it....give him a couple of drinks, you have one glass of red wine (good for circulation) & set the scene! Light candles in the bedroom (if that's where you bding) put some nice music on...or have a bath. Try & make it as less clinical as possible...even though you both know the aim of the game.

Doesn't sound wierd about the psychic, a friend of mine went to one a couple of years ago & they told her she'd get married & have two girls...well she got married & had a baby BOY in Oct...!!! But I guess she was there almost...& yes I know it does become a bit obessive which probably defeats the object...i.e if your stressed less chance of conceiving etc etc. I know that we've tried hard this month & if I'm not pg I'll be as gutted as the next person, but maybe I should listen to myself & try & relax?

Trace, bit scared to do the early tests as did that last month & obviously all neg. I guess I'm just going to wait for af to arrive & if it doesn't on the Thursday then I will....also mega expensive...ended buying various as was in denial about them all reading neg due to the symptoms I was experiencing!!! How sad am I?

June 2nd by the way...

pussycatmomma · 30/12/2005 18:43

its a minefield isnt it? its on your mind so much, yet you have to appear "normal" and "un-obssessed"!!!! i know this sounds ridiculous and im to say it, but i went to see a psychic lady last year who said in january i would be pregnant....so im kind of pulling out all the shots now ifyouknowwhatimean....i have so nearlly convinced myself i HAVE to be pregnant this month, i just cant stop thinking about it.

trace2 · 30/12/2005 18:38

trouble is we do when we dont just the same arrgh we didnt last night ended not talking, now he says we will tonight, but it might be to late

pussycatmomma · 30/12/2005 18:35

hi trace, nice to know someones around. Dh making me feel all selfish and obsessive, im sure im not the only one...... they say they want a baby as much as we do, agree the time is right, and everything seems hunkydory, but then when the time is right, surely, no matter how you are feeling, you'd just do it? none of this, "dont really feel like it just now" rubbish. oooh hes made me so cross! thats not going to get a baby made though is it!

trace2 · 30/12/2005 18:29

oh and my birthdats 1 april[ it matches me]

trace2 · 30/12/2005 18:28

Coriander73 you can test 4 days early if you feel pg,

pussycatmomma i know just how you feel if they want we have to do when they want even if we dont , but when its for a reason ie baby making it all changes

pussycatmomma · 30/12/2005 18:20

hi all, i always seem to miss you all when you are having a good chatter dont i! just had to log on and get a few things off my chest..... looks like im not the only one. Cori, my heart goes out to you hun, i am having same trouble with my dh. We are both a bit poorly with colds. sore throats etc, but we are on day 15! no bd today or yesterday, but not through lack of trying on my part. Dh says he feels like hes just turning into a sperm doner, says i am getting obsessive about bd when "the time is right".....i obviously disagree, we agreed together we are now "actively trying" so whats the point in making an agreement if he isnt going to put all his effort into it???? i read something yesterday, said even if you are having bd at focused , targeted time of ovulation, and that if eggs were perfect and sperm perfect and you didnt drink wine/have a life etc etc etc there was still only a 25% chance of concieving every cycle [shock} How rude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so i dont think it is too much to ask for a bit of bd when we are on right days.......especially as im sure i ovulated yesterday, cramping, twinging, felt just like dropping eggs ifyouknowwhatimean! but if hes not gonna do it whats the effing point!!!!!!!! ggggr gettin myself so wound up about it, doesnt he realise how monumentally important this is to me, flu or no flu???? all hugs and calming advice gratefully recieved!

Coriander73 · 30/12/2005 13:27
