Its upto you. If its a BFN will you be really dissapointed? What i mean is, what if you are pg but this test says your not, can you handle that?

wannaBe1974 · 16/01/2006 14:00

lol yeh i know! hmm so do I leave early to pick up DS and stop at the chemist and get another test? or do I be good and wait another few days.

mumswish · 16/01/2006 13:57

If AF appears which I hope it doesnt then its comfort eating, which is fine for a couple of weeks until AF is nearly due then you're eating cos your pg --- the circle can continue for ages! lol

wannaBe1974 · 16/01/2006 13:49

Well last couple weeks I did really well. only small breakfast, rivita for lunch and proper dinner. no snacks in between but at the weekend I just blew it and made a chocolate and ginger sponge for dessert yesterday and the remaineer of the ginger biscuits I put in the pudding are sitting in the cupboard just begging to be eaten! I keep using the excuce that maybe I'm pg and so should be eating more than I have been. don't think I'll be able to keep using that one when AF arrives.

trace2 · 16/01/2006 13:34

hi all 'n' peachy, not got long as am taking ds to photo shoot so if nobody about will chat later

mumswish · 16/01/2006 13:33

We're (me & DF) meant to be on a diet so we went and bought loads of healthy stuff but we just cant stop eating so I dont think its helping! lol

As for the promotion, I've already applied for it, I'm gonna see what happens if and when I get it as i'm applying for some other jobs as well at the mo.

Thanks Peachy that would be loads of help. If you want to email it my email add is [email protected] Thanks again

wannaBe1974 · 16/01/2006 13:21

well am supposed to be on a diet but all I seem to have done all day is eat! well there's always tomorrow.

wannaBe1974 · 16/01/2006 13:18

ah well at least your halfway through the day now peachy

I often used to wonder what I did with my lunchbreaks at work before we were given access to the internet! lol

peachygirl · 16/01/2006 13:15

Hi I have a PDF of Maternity leave + pay stuff I can cat you and send it or send post the website. I will have to do this later as at work and it's on my home computer.
Hi all, by the way, Lunchtime is nearly over, time to go back into the chaos!

wannaBe1974 · 16/01/2006 12:39

Well I can see where you're coming from re the driving etc, but I'd still go for the promotion now and if you fall then perhaps start looking for something closer?

trace2 · 16/01/2006 10:40

not if you eat right, for one not two

Coriander73 · 16/01/2006 10:36

Hiya Trace,

Hmm...boobs sorer...have metallic taste in mouth & started to have slight waves of nausea but nothing (yet) compared to DD!...Don't fancy much apart from stodge....cheese, bread, pizza, crisps...so have put on a little bit too much weight for my liking given it's only 6 weeks!!!!

Put on 3 stone with DD & it took me over a year to lose it all. Got desperate & ended up going to the gym to have a month intense training. It worked though....& now...it'll all go back on...grrrr!!!!!!!

mumswish · 16/01/2006 10:27

yeh, just clicked onto jobcentre page so this should keep me busy for the rest of the day. lol

trace2 · 16/01/2006 10:26

m i agree if a better job comes up take it, if you pg you might not feel like driving if you get sick, so i would keep looking

mumswish · 16/01/2006 10:22

I'm just a receptionist but the promotion is to a contract administrator which means I have to travel to the contracts. (warrington) every few days to get invoives etc.

trace2 · 16/01/2006 10:19

what do you do mumswish?/

trace2 · 16/01/2006 10:18

also ladies have started a diet today, so only doing bding when we want this month,

mumswish · 16/01/2006 10:18

Thanks for the advice ladies.

Will see what happens over this job, then if I dont get it (should know by week on Fri, hopefully) i'll start looking for new job. Already spotted quite a few so no lack of jobs, infact might start applying for them now, see which ones I'm offered (if any) and decide which is better for me.

The promotion I'm going for means travelling for about an hour there and hour back 2/3 times a week so if theres a better job i'll go with that instead.

Just cos I've applied for a job doesnt mean I have to take it. anyway prattling on now.

Hayls - if youre looking for a sofa and that ones not good enough have a look at land of leather. We're (hopefully) getting a 4 peice suite for only £700 if we can get in this house quick enough.

trace2 · 16/01/2006 10:16

hello corrie hows you?? sick sore boobs, if so good

trace2 · 16/01/2006 10:15

morning hayls wow just looked it looks great, I WANT ONE[envious]

Coriander73 · 16/01/2006 10:14

Hi everyone..!!! Got back last night from trade fair in Valencia...didn't get one chance to check messages whilst out there.

Notherner....don't test too early...if due 24th then try a couple of days before...I did test the day before I was due but only because Trace had got me going!! But she seems to be right every time so maybe you'll be our third BFP?!!

wannaBe1974 · 16/01/2006 10:12

Mumswish I wouldn't feel too guilty about getting a promotion and then getting pregnant and leaving. In fact I'd go for that rather than look for a new job - after all it's likely you'd have to lie in interviews etc if you were pregnant as admitting to being pregnant at an interview might jeperdise your chances of getting the job.

Not sure when I'll do another test - want to go out and buy one after dropped DS at pre school but my head tells me to wait till the end of the week.

Hayls · 16/01/2006 10:10

Morning all. Mumswish, I think it's better finanically if you start a job before you fall pg- even just a day. It happened to me in 2003- started job on 7th April and was pg by end of the month. I don't THINK you get statutory mat leave if you're pg before starting a job but I could be wrong. You might still get maternity allowance butI think this depedns on your family income etc. HAve a browse on the web or start another thread as there will be somebody who knows!
As for the sofas, after chatting on here I spotted a for sale thread with exactly what we're looking for and only an hour away! Talk about fate!

trace2 · 16/01/2006 10:09

wannaBe1974 when you doing an other test??

mumswish dont feel like that, if you get the promotion, take it others would

mumswish · 16/01/2006 10:02

might go nosing on the web and see what the statutory minimums are. There's bound to be a website explaining it.

Im not likely to go back to work after mat leave maybe part-time but that would be it. Maybe I'm better off finding a new job instead of trying to get this one after all, wouldnt be fair to get a promotion then go off on mat leave and maybe not come back.

Guilty concience now! lol
