well I am not ready for Xmas at all. Will be running around like a headless chicken as usual on Friday. Luckily DH finishes work for Xmas today so he can look after DD. Plus he's offered to get the dreaded Christmas food shop, so all I have to do is pick up the turkey.

merrycompo-I am taking the boots own pro-natal supplements. I did try Pregnacare but kept forgetting to take it as it needs to be taken on a full stomach. Have noticed my nails are much stronger since taking the supplements so maybe I was lacking in zinc or something before.

Welcome Littlechristmaself.

Jane313-at least it sounds like you are getting somewhere with the consultant. Hope it doesn't end up too expensive!

Hope you are doing well snowballstrike.

Only 1 and a half days of work til a good 2 weeks off for Xmas-so not really concentrating on work.

Found out yesterday one of my good friends from university is 14 weeks pregnant. She started going out with her next door neighbour in the summer and the baby is due in June!! It is odd how pregnancy news makes me feel. I am really happy for her and she will make a great mum, but I also end up feeling really jealous and a bit bitter. As in-why is everyone else on the planet getting pregnant at the drop of a hat and having healthy babies when my baby had such a severe abnormality I ended up killing it. Sorry-just had to get that off my chest.

staceym11 · 21/12/2005 08:31

hi everyone, just cehcking in to see everyone ok, anyone near test time?

im nearly all doen for xmas, just gotta get dh unstressed and ready for bding!!!!

see you soon!

jane313 · 21/12/2005 04:10

norms an hsg is an xray when they put dye through your fallopian tubes and uterus to find out if there are any blockages/problems

compo I take pro-natal. I got it for my last pregnancy cos it was the one pregnancy multi vit I found that was only taken once a day. I took it for the folic acid mainly and then thought I might as well take a mulit vitamin too. They are usually on 3 for 2 at boots.

did take loads of other supplements to help ttc but have stopped cos they obviously aren't working.

homemama · 20/12/2005 22:15

Hi all. Welcome LittleChristmasElf! Well 5 days is better than 3!

Normsnockers, I post on here much calmer than I do on other threads.

I'm on CD6 today but started in earnest last night No chance tonight though as DH is out at his Christmas do.

Compo, I'm taking pregnacare but will have to switch if I catch because they make me gag as it is. Yuck, they look like pessaries!

merrycompo · 20/12/2005 21:19

Hi everyone and welcome Little ChristmasElf and congrats to snowballstrike.
I'm on CD14 and trying to bd as much as possible - didn't manage to over the weekend as was at my parents in 2 very small single beds! And dh is out most nights this week - ggrrr. Still enjoying the Xmas vino but think if no joy this month will cut down in the NY, as well as caffeine. Is anyone else taking any special vit/min tablets apart from folic acid? I heard an advert on the radio for Sanatogen Pro-Natal and wondered whether it's worth splashing out? Also is anyone following a special ttc diet?

can i join you ?
am 39 been trying for a while now.got two in the 20s and jack 3y.

homemama i think the sperm can live upto 5 days in good conditions

jane313 · 20/12/2005 17:10

congrats snowballstrike.

Anyone else near testing?

I saw the consultant today and have spent over £500! (thank goodness for 0% credit cards) Lucky I haven't booked a summer holiday. I have to have an ultrasound and an hsg. He thinks I may be ovulating but may have uterine scarring because of my c section. And these are to check them out. I hope I haven't got scarring as I think I would need an op to get rid of the scars and that would cost over a thousand.

Hi all, sorry for being AWOL for last few days, had a manic weekend. I have been very smug and have had everything bought, wrapped and written over a month now but DP is typically last minute so had to go shopping with him on Sat after works do on Friday night!

There was a big discussion at the table at the work party about childbirth and pregnancy which I found really difficult. My boss was lovely though and grabbed my hand and held on tight until the conversation changed. Sounds weird but was v comforting!

Well, onto CD8 here so onto grabbing DP a lot! Had my CD2 bloods done last week and have got to have day 21 done on Jan 3rd so we'll wait and see.

Huge congrats Snowballstrike, what a wicked Christmas present. Hope all goes well!

Aprilgirl, get yourself off to the Dr and let us know how you are getting on, hugs to you.

Sracy - sounds oike a jolly good idea for your house. I agree with your Dad about renting (although in the short term it isn't too bad!) but it sounds like you are well sorted!

Hope everyone else is ok and not too worked up over getting everything ready...

J x

majormoo · 19/12/2005 19:28

congrats snowballstrike

seems to be loads to read and catch up on, but basically hope everyone is doing OK.

At last detected LH surge on the ovulation predictor I'm using. Very late in cycle as I am on CD21. I used to have v.regular cycles (c.29 days) before this year and all the delightful gynae stuff we've been through but things seem to be a bit erratic nowadays. Anyway DH was working from home today, so put DD down for a late nap and dragged him upstairs for some hanky panky. Fingers crossed! AF won't be due now til 2nd Jan, so need to figure out whether to be saintly on New Year's Eve and not drink just in case of success. On the other hand, I will so pleased to see the back of this year, I would love to toast to the end of it!

P.s. Normsnockers-DH liked your mumsnet name when he sneaked a look at this thread!

puppyisnotjustforxmas · 19/12/2005 10:49

lol homemama, just so happens that evening after posting that we were taking the relaxed approach, dh said he would like to make a big big effort this month, so looks like every couple of days for us, I'm on CD2 by the way.

Is everybody nearly ready for xmas?we are just got to get white wine and fresh veg and bread at the end of the week.

If I don't post before have a good weekend all and 'happy xmas!'. - saying that I find it hard to tear mydelf away from the pc lately lol.

homemama · 19/12/2005 10:12

Morning all! Congratulations Strike! That's wonderful news. Hope this turns out to be a really lucky thread.

How are you, Aprilgirl? Def. think you should see the GP.
JAG, don't forget that sperm can live for three days so still a chance!
Andyrobo, have you got a test ready for Christmas morning? How fab a pressie would that be!
Stacey, the loft idea sounds like it could give you a bit more room and privacy.
Puppy, are you really going to be relaxed? Or just pretend to be?

Hope everyone else is well!

chrimboandyrobo237 · 18/12/2005 20:56

Evening - pleased to see we have a BFP - great news snowballstrike!

Now on CD 25 of a varying 28 to 31 day cycle - AFdues xmas day - no symptoms of any kind but trying not to think about it all - too busy sorting out xmas stuff! Need to make up some hours in work this week as nursery is off for two weeks!
Also looking at moving in the spring, so trying to sort out primary school for dd - done this once for where we are now, but got to look at options in area 5 miles away!!

Better go - suppossed to be tiding up pc and office!!!!!!

JAG123 · 18/12/2005 20:54

Hi All

Just thought i'd pop on to say a quick hello. I don't seem to have any time to post at the moment so sorry about that.

Sorry about all the AFs & congratulations on all the BFPs.

I'm on cd17 we decided on the bd everyday approach from cd9 but then ran out of steam on cd14 when i got my egg sign so prob not much chance again this month AF due on New Years Eve not really how i had hoped to start a New Year. Had my works do on Friday & i'm still worn out.

Hope everyone else is well & would be great if we could all get that one Christmas Pressie we all really want the most.

Take Care J

staceym11 · 18/12/2005 20:40

congrats strike that brill, hope we have a few more bfp before the new year, it'll make something worth celebrating!!

well havnt got a clue what my days are etc. so dont know, just gotta go with the flow!!!!

well feeling better about dd my dh looked after her on sat so i got a break which was lovely!

we'r now looking into not moving out (we still live with my mum and dad) but instead converting the loft to house my brother and then me and dh can have his room as a living room/dining room/kitchenette, so we'll have basically two houses in one, as we cant afford a mortgage and my dad thinks renting is throwing money away (and i can see his point) and its not living with them i find hard but not having own space etc. so hopefully next year we'll get more space and a new way of life!!!!

anyway sorry for rattling on fingers crossed!

puppyisnotjustforxmas · 17/12/2005 18:59

Strike Congratulations on your BFP, really pleased for you , great time of year to get a bfp too

peachygirl · 17/12/2005 15:10

fairydust · 17/12/2005 12:48

Snowballstrike that is fantasic i'm so pleased for you that the best christmas present ever.

Snowballstrike · 17/12/2005 11:20

Welllll I tried again today and it seem I was wrong, got a BFP!!! My cheap ebay test had a very faint line, so I splashed out on a Clear blue Digital and it confirmed it! Just hope it all stays put now. I know I haven't been posting on this thread long, but you ladies have been such a help and reassurance. Fingers crossed for lots of Beanie Christmas presents.

puppyisnotjustforxmas · 16/12/2005 19:59

sorry about BFN strike

staceym11 hope you have abetter night and getsome rest, I know what you feel like running around cleaning up, ds has been off nursery due to a badcough and conjunctivitis and he has been driving me mad at one point he was emptying the boxes of toys onto floor and refusing to put them back, hope you have a good time at the hotel in jan

aprilgirl been wondering how you were getting on ,why don't you go to the gps for a blood test, at least you would know one way or the other, still keeping my fingers crossed for you.

As for me I have started to spot more, so next cycle we are going to be relaxed about things and see what happens, you never know.

fairydust · 16/12/2005 15:11

aprilgirl - how late was AF last week when you tested?

aprilgirl · 16/12/2005 15:04

bfp i meant!!

aprilgirl · 16/12/2005 15:02

still no af for me or bfb.... just wish i would come on now so i can try again this month... last tested last wednesday no 19 days late x

fairydust · 16/12/2005 14:59

I've wrote my letter to already as well as asking for soem goodies i put a little note at the bottom asking for a little baby.

He's hoping this is a very luckly thread and there are lots of bfp's soon.

we're on ttc month 11 - have an hospital appointment for january so we'll have to see how that goes -AF did arrive this month so that's one good thing.

staceym11 · 16/12/2005 13:35

hiya everyone, sorry about all the afs!

Congrats BXPE i dont think anyone meant to be rude but some people have been on these threads for a while and s single post (or what seems like) to announce a BFP could jsut be rubbing salt in a wound. i doubt very much that anybody meant any harm but hormones are running high on this rollercoaster of ttc!!!

well af been and gone now, my head is held high and im ready to start again!!! hopefully dh will be in the same frame of mind! recently been told a lot of women have a more fertile time of year and seeing as dd was concieved in februrary maybe it'll be my time around then???

been getting really annoyed at dd the past few days, had a few bad nights so im knackered, went away to my nans so no help from dh with dd for 3 days and she seems to have turned into a one woman tornado overnight, i just follow her round cleaning up!!!! and where she used to be very good at going and playing on her own she now hangs onto my legs and wants me to join in and with a lot of stress + upset at the min i just cant handle it!!! i know she just wants to know mummy's ok as she senses theres something wrong but i just need a break!!!

coincidentally.....dh's work do on the 6th of Jan is near Brands Hatch (about 1/2 hour away from home) and hes booked a hotel for the night, so iv arranged for my mum to have dd overnight so i know she in her own room and sleeping sound and then she'll take her to the MIL's for the next day until we pick her up!!! so i dont have to get up with a screaming baby for the first morning in 14months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyway sorry to rattle on, better go we're off to a soft play area this afternoon! my fingers are crossed for everybody this month, maybe we should all write letters to santa????
