Struck out this month...anyone care to join me on the June 2012 bus?

OP posts:
Ilanthe · 30/09/2011 21:00

iI've been away for a while - really busy at work. Now we're on hols and enjoying the good weather. How lucky were we? Grin

Congrats onlinefriend and commiserations needsinstructions. Good luck to everyone else SWI and 2wwing.

I think I'm 6 or 7 DPO not quite sure. I have a whole host of psychosomatic symptoms:

  • sore, veiny boobs
  • bloated
  • gone off booze
  • exhausted, I fell asleep at 9pm last night

I'm testing on Sunday 9th and not before though.

sweetpb · 30/09/2011 19:13

Congrats onlinefriend hope all goes well for the next 9months x x

Good luck to everybody waiting!

I am currently on day 29 of my cycle, still no idea when I will be expecting AF :( last 2 months have been 36 day cycles (ish) but typical trend would now see me on a 60ish day cycle this month, soo, fingers crossed and the metformin has worked somewhere along the lines and i will either get a BFP or a normalish length cycle.
Have weirdly had bouts of feeling nauseous and dizzy/hot the last 2 days at 9:30 until about 11 am! but test today said no so just need to wait!

P x

TheCake · 30/09/2011 18:53

Congratulations onlinefriend and disappointed for you needsinstructions, at least its Friday and nice weather so you can have a good drink if you want. I think since i've been ttc i've gotten really drunk everytime my AF arrives!

1dpo here, going to have a last SWI tomorrow and then back to SWOI (if there is such an abbreviation). Hoping this is a longer luteal phase for me, I ovulate on day 20 and my cycles have varied each month between either 29 days or 33 - last month was wierdly 25 days and very light flow so think I did not ovulate last month. I used opks this month and got a smiley face on day Thursday and plenty of EWCM. Have been dtd every other day since day 10 so hopefully we are in with a shot. No doubt I will be seeing symptoms that are not there soon - it does not help that I feel nauseous and I have a metallic taste in my mouth as pre af symptoms!

Hope everyone has a nice weekend and that this good weather holds out a bit longer...

Rusulka · 30/09/2011 18:22

Nearly peed myself this morning when I did my temp- 36.7, which technically makes my temp chart on FF triphasic... 5DPO... trying not to get too excited, but really hoping for a sustained thermal shift rather than it being a one off!

Congrats onlinefriend, super jealous.

Sorry you're out, needinstructions. My mum used to have a cream skirt when I was younger. Every time she wore it the hamster peed on it. :)

needinstructions · 30/09/2011 16:06

Ok, I'm out - AF just appeared in a big way.

I think I would feel more disappointed, except that I am too busy trying to deal with the fact that I am at work, had no tampons etc (have now been out to get some) and wearing a cream skirt - now with no knickers ;-) Talk about tempting fate though.

Good luck to those of you remaining and congratulations to those with the BFPs!

onlinefriend · 30/09/2011 11:03

thanks for messages & reassurance about cramping- not severe, just feels like i'm about to get my period all the time. i'm beginning to calm down after also consullting dr google ( i did ring the gps but they can't offer me anything until the week after next!)

needinstructions- i'd test tomorrow while your hubby is here in case you need support (the last two months before this when i tested negative i was completely gutted.. and if its positive you can find out together. Good luck .

LydiaTheTattoedLady · 30/09/2011 10:21

Congratulations onlinefriend! When did you test? (after you missed your period?)

Re feeling crampy - any googling of early pregnancy symptoms (ok - yes, I am very very sad) will produce a load of forum conversation about cramps so I think many women have this same experience. I think the advice is that it's perfectly normal unless it starts getting painful or severe, in which case go to get some help. If you're worried, though, I'd go to the GP - it's a chance to talk about your pregnancy (get congratulated) and go over your overall health for this early stage in any case, which can't be bad.

So SO SO jealous. In a nice way.

Readynow · 30/09/2011 09:44

Very Confused Based on temps FF has just put my cross hairs at CD10, although I did not get my positive OPK until CD11 & lots of EWCM CD11 & 12 ??
So I'm going to ignore the temps & go with the other signs! If I Ov'd the day I think then I am 5 dpo but no symptoms although I am desperately trying to spot some :o

needinstructions · 30/09/2011 09:38

congratulations on the BFP onlinefriend - that's fantastic!! I'm afraid I don't know very much about what's normal etc (I have been pg twice before but noticed nothing but the morning sickness) but would have thought that the cramping is just your body getting used to its new (and very exciting!) state. I'd go to the doctors though if it's painful, or if you're worried.

I was going to test tomorrow but all my symptoms have disappeared so now feeling very unpregnant and fed up. Probably PMT :-( Not sure I can deal with the disappointment of a BFN tomorrow, but DH is away all of next week and I wouldn't want to test then just in case...

onlinefriend · 30/09/2011 09:17

I got a BFP! So delighted!
Sorry for the info delay I Have beeen away and had no internet access.
Fingers crossed for everyone testing this weekend.
I am having stomach cramps every day, does anyone know if this is normal or a sign of something wrong??

LydiaTheTattoedLady · 29/09/2011 20:49

Fingers Crossed indeed everyone

Your post made me giggle Rusulka. I've been constantly checking whether my boyfriend is noticing smells of all sorts of various kinds, cryptically saying 'oh' when he hasn't smelt a thing. I'm such an idiot.

Discolite Join in the smelling game. If you really focus on it, you'll find that everything smells much stronger and more intense. It can keep you going for hours.

I've found something to spur my obsessiveness. Hurrah!

Discolite · 29/09/2011 20:20

Rusulka, I'm also wondering if I've actually ovulated or not...my first day of high temperatures coincided with a cold and my temperatures have dipped since then (not below the coverline yet however). I also don't have the symptom that I confidently talked about a few days ago, that of sore nipples! On the plus side when I took my temperature in the day to check for fever it was normal....ohhh, I don't know! I give up!

Lydia, I'm apparently 4dpo but no symptoms of anything here either. Slight cramps but I've been having those for 9 days so barely even notice them anymore.

Fingers crossed for at least 36.3 deg C tomorrow!

Rusulka · 29/09/2011 20:06

Lydia FX for you too!

We took year 4 swimming today and the chlorine smelt really strong to me. Naturally my first thought was that it was a symptom, tut! At 4DPO! Driving myself nuts just thinking about it.
Getting a bit hyped up about my temps too. Really hoping they stay elevated.
Still POAOS just in case. Why am I doing this to myself!?!!?

LydiaTheTattoedLady · 29/09/2011 19:32

Mine's due then too - either October 9th or 10th, not really sure about whether I should count what I thought was my first day.

It seems a very long way away. Craving a glass of wine already. Would one be a really really bad idea?

AND
NOT feeling
sick
bloated
crampy
big boobed
hormonal

...Basically, not feeling in any way at all pregnant. I know symptoms dont' really come this early but thought I'd have a few pretend symptoms to keep myself occupied and feed my obsessiveness. Nada. Zilch. Nothing.

stay busy stay busy stay busy stay busy

Rusulka · 29/09/2011 18:40

Readynow your AF is due the same day as mine. FX for a BFP for both of us!

needinstructions · 29/09/2011 12:07

Am going crazy waiting here. I've had a couple of BFNs but tested stupidly early so it's not really surprising. I'm trying to justify it as this is the last time we'll be TTC so might as well indulge myself? But it's annoying me now - grrrr.

On the plus side, I've got a major stress coming up at the end of next week on something unconnected, and this 2WW business is great for taking my mind off that ;-)

Readynow · 29/09/2011 10:27

Sorry about AF for those leaving the bus. I am just in the 2ww & if past cycles are anything to go by I expect AF (If I am not lucky enough to get a BFP that is) on 9th October. Hope we had SWI on the right days - it was certainly around my positive OPK & EWCM time but my temps are a little erratic so I don't know exactly if ov happened when I hope it did. Confused

GTR2882 · 29/09/2011 09:19

i too am taking myself off the list - heading over to the plane that is waiting to take off for BFPland for July!!! No AF but third BFN so i either did not SWI enough or i did not ov this month - either way, it's on to the next giant cycle for me!

GTR I couldn't lean over him, he would have screamed. I had to get out and walk round, then I climbed back in for my 10min 'snooze'. Grr.

I just hope tomorrow's is the same level. Don't want any dips in temp for 2-4 days, and then no more after that!

Will just have to wait and see.

Lydia my first cycle ttc was a nightmare in the 2ww as I wasn't working. Things are going quicker now that I am. Try to fill any spare time you have by keeping busy. I'm going to be planning Christmas presents and food, and decorating the house for Hallowe'en. Also gardening. And at the end of that if I have a spare 5 minutes for a scratch, I'll probably be browsing articles on the internet or have my head in a book.

LydiaTheTattoedLady · 28/09/2011 18:06

Prunella79 That's not a symptom I recognise. Nausea has occasionally got me during AF but only on the day before or the day it starts. Indeed, it's only the few days before AF is due that I get ANY symptoms at all - which is WAY past ovulation, unless you have an ultra short luteal phase. Everyone's different though and it may be that if you're not used to the hormonal changes (or your body is working itself out) it is reacting to the hormonal changes that undoubtedly DO go on just after ovulation. Not saying it couldn't be something else tho ;)

Everyone Else Just DPO Now all the excitement is over....I can't believe we have to wait 2 flipping weeks. So Boring.

Does anyone have any tips for serving the time on the 2WW Block? It's my first experience of this and, as I am NOT a patient person.
I know the chances aren't great (so trying to be realistic - it's our first month of trying) but can't help getting crazily excited at times which will only lead to major disappointment. GRRRRR

GTR2882 · 28/09/2011 17:10

Rusulka - did you get out of bed or just simply reach over? You will prob be ok - every morning i have to reach over to the bed side table to get my thermometor! As long as you did not stand up, have a drink etc etc then you should be ok! :)

Rusulka · 28/09/2011 17:05

sweetpb I would pee on the internet cheapie ovulation sticks every day, and take your temp every day too, just so you can start getting the hang of it. When I first got my internet cheapies I was past CD14 so waited- but then AF was a week late, so who knows, I might have ovulated later, but wasn't POAOS so didn't know. It's good to have all the info you can!

I'm 3dpo and tapping feet impatiently.
This morning DH's back hurt too much for him to roll over and turn the alarm off, so I had to do it- then realised I hadn't taken my temp so was v. annoyed. Don't know if the temp I've taken is accurate now.

Men!

Prunella79 · 28/09/2011 17:01

How soon after ovulation do people start experiencing pre AF symptoms? maybe a strange question but i've meagre experience of real periods.

Based on Discolite's suggestion that sore nipples are a symptom of ovulation, i should be about 3dpo but i've been feeling really nauseous all day especially when i bend over - it's a familiar feeling but i can't quite put my finger on it - maybe it is a pre AF symptom i last had when i was a teenager?

sweetpb · 28/09/2011 11:12

pfft, well the internet jobbies arrived today, had put a pot of fmu away just incase they arrived ;) the pg one was a BFN and the ovulation one had a faint line, who knows when i will be due on so half tempted to continue using them to see what happens, also got a basal thermometer with them so will have to learn what the different temps etc mean!
