Hi guys - i am done with the May bus (although will pop in every now and then to see how its all going), body can't make up its mind what it wants to do, have peed on that many sticks that i have a crazy collection next to the bed, DH is tired of finding them everywhere (lounge table, study table, bathroom, kitchen - you name it, i have probably left it there!!). Not sure when AF is ever going to be due (FF says 25th Sept but i beg to differ), my last cycle was 52 days, so i might not even make the June bus and could well be charting a July bus if things do not pick up very soon!!

Anyway, please help yourselves to this fresh chic chip muffins and some herbal tea :)

louloubellamozzarella · 07/09/2011 12:08

Oops forgot to POAOS (ov stick!) again yesterday - hmph. TBH snow I've seen a lot of comments about ov sticks being unreliable. I'd go with how you feel and rough dates (and the delightful EWCM) and go for it! Looks like that's what I'll be doing as I'm so forgetful...

Sn0wGoose · 07/09/2011 11:37

Heels and a kitchen table, I feel so tame lol

EWCM this morning and yesterday, and temp rise yesterday, so think I'm in to 2ww territory. OPKs all neg though Hmm

trilottie · 07/09/2011 09:33

hi all, am finally back in the game as FF thinks I've ovulated! We might have timed BD correctly although I have not seen any sign of EWCM at all! Would someone more knowledgeable (sp?) than me be able to take a look at my chart and see if they think FF is right?

Can't really say when AF is due since my last cycle was 69 days :( I suppose i could take a guess at the luteal phase length and add it on

princessesmummy · 06/09/2011 23:29

Hello everyone, think im in the two week wait now if i have worked out my cycle correctly. But not really sure have been taking dianette for a year and a bit. So hoping its all back to normal, DP also says im much happier off the pill.

Good to hear snowgoose - and can't wait to tell people when we are updiffed and see their confused faces Grin

Looks like lots of us are into the SWI zone - godspeed to you all in your endeavours ladies! Look forward to a couple of weeks time when the sticks come out for a-testing! Impressed with your table/heels efforts chocolate - I think the most adventurous we've managed has been the sofa after work Blush (note to self: must try harder).

sweetpb · 06/09/2011 19:56

HI all x hope everybody is well. Well af finished yesterday, havent got any ovulation sticks yetso just have to swi a lot!!

Metformin really making me suffer though! have had such a ropey belly :( although i have lost 5.5lb cos everything is going 'through' rather quickly!! ChocolateWindmill · 06/09/2011 18:07

Hey guys, sorry I've pretty much stopped posting, have moved around desks at work and now my boss can see my screen. Not cool at all. :(

Have been SWI like crazy, I'm getting fed up of not being pregnant! There was even an incident with high heels and the kitchen table... DH said that if we make a boy we'll have to call him Jimmy Choo Blush

My 2ww starts now so I'll be a little bit crazy!

Hope all is good with everyone!!

Mama5isalive · 06/09/2011 16:47

Hi all- all those who have finally rid themselves of the dreaded PILL! welcome to freedom and hopefully soon Pregnantville!!!!!
online - sorry about the OV sticks how awful that you have wasted them! I hope you get it sorted real soon, you never know you could already be preggers as so wont need them!
well im in my fertile days and just went back to work yesterday so fitting in SWi while tired aint working but will def get some action in tonight! im staying away from Ov-ing sticks and just used online cal to help me!
ohhhhhhh ladies i do pray it will be us all this month!!!!!!!nice girl name June!

Prunella79 · 06/09/2011 15:38

yep i got that too from the dr - being told you're probably more fertile when first coming off the pill doesn't help the perception of bound to get pg straight away if not taking contraception but MN is great for giving some more grounded perspectives. as so often in life it's better to be happy with low expectations than crushed by falsely high ones...oh well Brew Biscuit and bring on the SWI Smile

Sn0wGoose · 06/09/2011 14:15

Wow that was long (sorry)

bradders I did exactly the same thing! The GP trotted out things like "loads of people get pg the first month they come off the pill" etc etc and stupidly I bought into it.

Sn0wGoose · 06/09/2011 14:11

Funnily enough, I changed to cerazette after getting migraines on the other ones too - stroke symptoms sounds terrifying though. Seeing my libido ping back, I don't think I'll be going back on anything afterwards either. I think DH would wrestle them from my very hands tbh!! Blush

All my siblings have kids, as have many of DHs siblings (we have big families) though none of our friends do. We've been together for ten years and have an abundance of pets, so I think everyone's come to the conclusion we're barren tbh - it'll be a real shocker if-and-when we announce we're pg ;)

I don't think it should matter you're not married though, it's not the 50s!! Shock Both DH's siblings with kids are not married, one is 18 and the other 30 iirc, but both are in stable relationships like you, which is what counts imho.

We have decent jobs and our own mammoth mortgage, so it shouldn't be a naughty secret, but if we told anyone we were ttc there would be lots of discouraging "how will you manage?" talk and lots of frowning and sucking of air through teeth and "are you sure?". We're not the most organised of people we live in chaos and it's also pretty obvious that we'll have no physical/practical help from family - my parents live abroad, DH's dad lives 4 hours away and, err, lets just say DH's mum won't be any help putting it mildly, whereas all our siblings have shed loads of of support from their other halves's families iykwim............

Anyway, long story short, we're keeping schtum until I'm upduffed, and then they can jolly well get over it and be happy for us :o

bradderswantsababy · 06/09/2011 13:34

Hello all please can I jump on this lovely June bus. I have added my stats below this is my first month off the pill. I am totally with you Prunella and loulou about coming off the pill sooner.

I have a friend that took 12 months to conceive DS and had been on the pill over 10 years (like me) she swears its was due to being on the pill too long. She advised me months ago to get off the pill and get it out of my system. So trotted off to the docs to explain why I was coming off the pill and was told that didnt matter how long you have been off the pill. Unfortunately I took his word for it (well he is meant to know best!!)

We were going to wait to TTC until after Christmas but after reading posts on MN stopped taking it 6th August.

Currently 3 days late with no sign of AF although as this is my first month off the pill my cycle may be way out.

If AF is coming I wish she would jolly well get on with it so at least I can chart track and use OV. However if I have been so so lucky this month and am PG please will the HPT show a line of any sort!! Confused

louloubellamozzarella · 06/09/2011 13:05

sorry snowgoose, just went and gave you a nickname :)

louloubellamozzarella · 06/09/2011 13:04

online that's RUBBISH! Esp as you put so much time into doing it right :(

You should definitely contact the seller and demand a full refund or a replacement of the product as you've now wasted them with incorrect instructions.

snowgoose, yep I'm 27 too :) Only been on Cerazette for two years I think (can't keep track of time, it goes too quickly!) - was moved onto it after aforementioned stroke experience. Seemed ok - well less side effects than others I've taken - but now I have sooo much more energy and don't feel run down like I did before. Loving the hormone free life - it really shouldn't be so much of a revelation that it's better for you, should it?!

Just out of interest, snowy, are many of your friends TTC/pregnant/with kids already? Only one of mine does (a couple of DP's friends wives/partners do). I'm feeling like I'm gonna be on my own for a couple of years. Also get the feeling that I'm going to be a shocker if we do get pregnant as none of my friends will expect it (we're not married yet - might happen in future but we're not too bothered when) and we haven't mentioned it to anyone as don't want any additional pressure. Feels like I'm keeping a naughty secret even though I'm twenty-bloody-seven and have a good job/home with DP/etc etc etc!

onlinefriend · 06/09/2011 12:46

Really, really cross
I have been using my fertility tests every day & being conscientious about it (ie. timing reaction times with my mobile, not drinking for 2 hours beforehand etc!)
Just noticed the back of the packet the strip comes says it must be read at ten minutes and is invalid after thirty.
But the printed instructions they sent me on how to use the strips (which i practiacally memorised) say reaction time of the full 30 mins is needed before reading any result. So i have waited 30 mins every day to look at the damn thing only to now find out that they don't work after 30 mins,
I know they aren't a magic bullet to getting pregnant but it might help if they actually work becuase they are sent with the right instructions.
Every bl**dy day i've used them, public loos, at the inlaws for sunday lunch etc. Grr.
I'm Practically having to sit on my hands to not leave bad feedback on amazon about the company as i really want to but know it is more reasonable to give them a chance to respond before slating them.
I feel a real mug

Sn0wGoose · 06/09/2011 11:30

Also a lot randier now I'm not on cerazette, much to DH's delight Blush

Sn0wGoose · 06/09/2011 11:30

loulou I was on cerazette too, about 5 years! I think we're the same age (27?) so it must have been in vogue when we were of a certain age ;)

Defo would have come off it earlier if I'd have realised that getting pg wasn't as simple as just missing a pill. In fact I feel a bit of an idiot about being so rediculously unnecessarily obsessively careful for the past 10+ years tbh Confused

I stopped taking it in March and found I got AF after about 6 weeks, the next was about a 5 week cycle, the next 4 and so on, and now I'm a reasonably regular 29-31 days...

louloubellamozzarella · 06/09/2011 11:07

Exactly the same for me on the horniness front Grin - I can't believe I missed all those years!! Generally feel a lot healthier since I stopped taking it as well - more energised and balanced- it's great! I don't think I'll be going back on any kind of pill as I've tried loads of different ones over the years and got bad side effects of each of them (one gave me awful migraines and was on the way to causing a stroke Shock)

You can get ov sticks cheaply from ebay/amazon, just a few quid for 30. Not sure how they compare in effectiveness to the expensive digital sets - but we've only been trying for just under two months so I don't think that's necessary yet and won't do anything to help my neurotic tendencies... I think I just like the novelty of all of this testing, charting, POAS nonsense - it's a whole new world which I never knew existed till this summer! Must stop myself from getting too obsessive though, so the only things I'm doing are knowing my ov dates (well possible ov dates) and trying the ov sticks (forgot to start yesterday, must do better tomorrow)!

Prunella79 · 06/09/2011 10:54

thanks loulou going to have to do some research into ov sticks, all the MN talk of charting and thermometers and opks makes my head spin rather, i'm hugley disorganised and fear i may confuse myself even more.
meanwhile having a splendid time with the old SWI, half my head says long may it continue, can't believe how much hornier i am off the pill Wink

louloubellamozzarella · 06/09/2011 10:23

Prunella - sorry I'm afraid I'm not sure! If you did have a withdrawal bleed then I would count it - maybe try some ov sticks to see if you can find some signs that you're back to a normal cycle. Generally though, there's no point in stressing yourself out too much by worrying about your cycle at this stage and there's nothing to lose by trying (easier said than done I know!)

I agree with you both about not realising how complicated this whole business is!! If I hadn't stumbled across MN I don't think I'd've really understood ovulation and the best time to TTC properly Blush - how bad! Also, I'd've come off the pill sooner for sure, as I've been taking it for so long and the one I was taking (cerazette) is notoriously tricky to get out of your system. Bit annoying but hopefully now I've had a period, my cycles are reset again - only time will tell... Can't wait to start testing at the end of the month already sad - and we haven't really got down to the proper SWI yet!

musicalmrs · 06/09/2011 09:25

Prunella - I've just had something very similar! Off the pill a couple of months ago, normal-ish AFs, though with unpredictable cycles (understandable). AF arrived at the beginning of the month, but very light in comparison to normal... very strange!

Not reading too much into it - taking it as the beginning of a new cycle! Haven't done any HPTs as I think a BFN would depress me, so I'm avoiding it unless I think it necessary later.

And I agree - the doctors don't make it clear how long it might take you to get back to normal. Had I known, I might have come off earlier (and used another form of contraception).

Prunella79 · 06/09/2011 09:06

loulou - came off the pill 31st July, had a bleed 5 days after, had put that down as the 'withdrawal' bleed i'd heard of. if this tiny later one (24th/25th August) were a withdrawal bleed should i count from it to try to assess some kind of cycle?

this getting pregnant lark is way more confusing than i'd expected - when you're on the pill there's a simple assumption of - if i forget to take my pills i'll get pregnant - what a crazy idea that was

louloubellamozzarella · 05/09/2011 22:05

Hi festie [waves madly and troffs half the hobnobs in one] Hope we can still over-share on egg white type matters and be nice and rude here Grin

Yep, looks like we're onto some June babies instead, eh? Hope you're feeling ok after the past couple of months. Think your AF's due one day before me so we might be crazed madwomen test buddies together
