Hello ladies, sorry to have left you all hanging!

Freya Alexandra was born (eventually!) at 14.41 on Monday afternoon, 7lb7oz, healthy and gorgeous. The birth was actually all very straightforward, just so darn long. I was asking to be shot for about the last 4 hours Blush

We stayed in the maternity hospital for a few days to try and get feeding going, as that's proving tough but I think we're getting somewhere now.

Will post birth story in due course. Love to all xx

AngelGeorgie · 25/08/2011 22:12

Too they give you your urine bottles back to save money. I m too on Aspirin 75 mg I too had/ have no clotting issues and it seems to be given " just on case" it's such a small dose that if you don t utilise it , it will be excreted anyhow.I also had it with Georgie up to 36 weeks and taking it this time up to my section. Glad u got on ok x

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 25/08/2011 20:16

Green, that sounds like a plan! And it's basically what I did - went back when my maternity pay dropped, lasted about 3 and a half weeks and then got signed off sick for 6 weeks.

Couldn't eat my dinner tonight, oddly. DH made portobello mushrooms, grilled with sausage meat and cheese and yellow pepper, and I barely managed half of one and went bleurgh! It was the wetness of them, I think - ick. I'm not really hungry but I might try something really plain like porridge before I go to bed, just so I have something. Cheese, hope you start to be able to eat soon! Usually food settles my stomach and being hungry makes me feel sick, but not tonight.

greenzebra · 25/08/2011 19:14

too I have to go back my maturnity pay dropped this week so we need the money, unless I get signed off sick. JUst have to see how it goes, hopefully it will be so wet this september that I will not be sent out with any chemicals.
Glad you liked your consultant, I had to dispose of my urine sample everytime I went to the midwife. Its something they do now I guess. Do you think you would go for a c-section?
Im deffinlty not looking forward to going back to work, but then again it gets me out the house. I have a feeling they wont know what to do with me as they are inadequate at most things. When My husband phoned them to tell them that Fi had died my boss told my DH that I needed to get a sick note. Idiot I was already on maturnity leave! Also you have to be off for 7 days before the doc will give you one, Ive told the boss this several times over the years but its not sunk in. Hopefully I will only be there for a few days and then I shall find out Im pg again, and then I might take a few weeks off on sick leave, due to morning sickness! Grin

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 25/08/2011 18:56

Would you be able to stay off a little longer, Green? You don't sound like you're looking forward to going back at all, and there are all the issues with chemicals and their effect on you to worry about. What happens job-wise when you are confirmed to be pregnant? They must have to move you away from the chemicals, right? Could they not do that anyway, at least for just now?

I feel the same way about Amanda Holden - she was annoying on TV, so yes, I empathised with her, but no, I don't especially like her now. I am pleased she is pregnant again but not delighted - I don't know her personally.

I went to see the consultant this morning and she did my blood samples and the blood came out so well that it ran right down my arm and onto my skirt from under the plaster! She's put me on baby aspirin as a precaution, which confused me as I didn't think there was anything to suggest blood clotting issues in my notes or the post-mortem results. Anyway, I am now on baby aspirin until 34 weeks. This woman was very friendly and approachable, so I'm quite happy with her, I think. She said I could have an ELCS if I want, no problem, and the next time we see her she'll have some info for us on C sections and their effects on future pregnancies so we can make an informed choice. I'm to go back in 4 weeks after my booking scan. The only weird thing was that a medical student was helping, and when the consultant had nipped out to fetch something, he handed me back my urine sample and said I had to dispose of it myself. That's never happened to me before! Perhaps I should have refused - I did ask if he couldn't just put it in the bin, but he said no.

CheeseandGherkins · 25/08/2011 15:20

Snap green, sick and irritated today plus headache. Every time I eat I feel sick now Confused. Hope these symptoms mean good news for you soon! I have blood tests in about an hour, hate them so much :( Hope I get one of the decent nurses. One of them can never get blood from me, I have small veins apparently and they collapse easily. She tried twice from one arm and then once from the other side and when she started talking about putting on in my hand I got up and said I'd rather not! Had to see someone else a few days later instead.

Maybe you should discuss it with work as you could well be pregnant and just not know yet. It's a really difficult situation for you. Personally I'd still be testing as soon as possible but I'm just like that, I can't wait at all.

greenzebra · 25/08/2011 12:06

Im really glad for Amanda Holden, I really felt for her obviously, but got rather fed up with it all as I dont really like her and everyone kept asking me if I liked her now that shes gone through the same as me. What? Some people. I told them I empathise with her and hope she has another baby in the future but it doesnt mean that I now like her on the telly and will watch all her shows! I got the same response about Kelly Brook and Lily Allen.

Im feeling rather sick today and have a really bad headache, hoping these are good signs wouldnt want to be suffering them for nothing. Smile
DH got really concerned yesterday about me returning to work, as I work with chemicals. He says he doesnt want me to just in case I am pg. I understand his feelings but also what can I do? Do I tell my boss I cant touch them because I might be up the duff? I dont think that would go down to good. God the dilema. I think Im going to have to play it by ear, the chemical pregnancy has really messed up DHs head and he thinks we should wait like 3 weeks after af due before I test, I just cant do this coz of the job. Im having to wait aweek already.
Kind of chickened out going into work this week, just didnt feel like I could, this isnt a good sign for next week. bugger!

CheeseandGherkins · 24/08/2011 22:25

Yes, saw and posted on the thread on here earlier. It's really good to hear of another woman pregnant again after stillbirth.

AngelGeorgie · 24/08/2011 21:59

Have you heard?? Amanda Holden is 3 months pregnant again? 6 months after her son being stillborn at 7 months. Warms the cockles of your heart. Xx

AngelGeorgie · 24/08/2011 20:04

Too don t worry about your blood. Sometimes if you not eaten or a bit dehydrated it can make your circulation sluggish which can make taking blood harder. It's no problem.
Cheese good luck tomorrow x

AngelGeorgie · 24/08/2011 19:59

Thanks girls about my friend. As Cheese said Mel as long as it's a week course of Metronidazole it's fine in pregnancy. I m a prescriber and unfortunately alll medications are unlicensed in pregnancy as for obvious reasons but the BNF ( British National Formularly) which is what we adhere to , recommends medicatons that are safe in pregnancy.
Blue please don t worry about if you conceive being due around Sterres due date. My Georgie was born on October 10 th last year and I m having a section for GILS on the 17 th. My consultant had always kept in mind Georgies birthday and worked round it wherever possible. We do have a scan booked for Georgie's birthday though. As I see it , it makes Octobet, hopefully, a bittersweet month. October is also the month Ant's dad died and GILS due date is my late nan's birthday.
Take care all xxx

greenzebra · 24/08/2011 19:53

blue it could have been a blip on the ov sticks I would keep testing. But its up to you. If you dont know how long your cycle is at the moment then maybe wait till your af then start testing on CD10 just to make sure you dont miss it. Some people ov on an earlier date than their cycle suggests and also on a later date.
I also have the same feelings if I am pg this month then I will be due the month Fi was born. But hey maybe it was meant to be that way who knows.

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 24/08/2011 19:50

Blue, I will be almost exactly one year - not quite as close as Razz, but by my calculations this baby will be delivered (at 38 weeks, not at 40) at the end of March, and Thea was born on 13 March. When I was calculating from my LMP I thought this baby would be delivered around the 15th March, so it's possibly just as well that I'm not so far on as I thought.

Great news about your friend, Angel!

Cheese, I know exactly how you feel about needing people who are going through the same thing. It is the thing about not really believing the baby will be okay - I don't think I will allow myself to believe it until it's in my arms either. We're all here for you and for each other, though, so don't worry about that. Also, Sands run ante-natal classes (at least, my local one does) if you want to talk to RL people in the same situation. I haven't been to any yet, but I might do when I feel a bit more securely pregnant (whenever that is).

The MW came out this morning and did all the booking stuff, but for some reason she couldn't get any blood out of me when she tried! Very bizarre - the needle was in properly, but there was almost nothing coming out. That's never happened to me before - I'm one of those people who can always give blood, is never anaemic and so on and so forth, and my blood pressure is normal, so I don't know what was going on. The MW said maybe it was her tube - perhaps it didn't have enough suction, but as she was at my house, she'd only brought the one set, so she couldn't try again. She's coming back on Monday morning to redo them, so I hope it works then! Anyway, apart from that everything was fine. She's organised me a first consultant appt for tomorrow morning, too, so I hope I like him or her.

Green and Blue and Mel and Jane, FX that this is your month! I didn't think I was pregnant either - my boobs weren't sore and I didn't have any symptoms.

razzdazz · 24/08/2011 19:17

Hi girls, glad everyone is doing okay Grin
Great news about your friends baby angel
blue I have found myself in the situation that you are thinking about....my baby is due on the 20th of April and my darling Thomas was born on the 21st. Not quite sure how I feel about it really.
Really cant wait to hear baby split news Smile

Bluetinkerbell · 24/08/2011 18:49

cheese I really hope so, but on the other hand try not to hope too much, I really don't know the length of my cycle yet. As I got pregnant straight after stopping my pill with Sterre. And with being away from DH don't have a clue whether I've missed my ovulation or not. Last week when I was away I had 2 days where I had a tiny bleed.

if I don't get pregnant this month and I will next month, I'll be due in June :( when Sterre was born...

DD just fell asleep on the sofa, will bring her to bed in a minute and then have some quiet time before DH returns from work.

Great news about your friend Angel

blue maybe it's your month?

Mel hope the anti-biotics sort you out. I would have thought you'd be fine to swi, I've had to take anti-b's in pregnancy numerous times so they must be ok. They only give certain ones though when you're pregnant and avoid some.

green hoping it's your month too. I really didn't think I was pregnant when I was so you never know.

Looking forward to hearing from split as well.

Too I love a nice bath :)

I'm soooo tired all the time and moody, mood swings are awful as well. Blood tests tomorrow which I'm not looking forward to at all, I'm quite phobic about them. Doesn't bode well for the sugar testing coming up soon! only 2 more weeks until my nuchal scan and the appointment with the diabetic nurse.

I'm hoping nothing goes wrong this time and everything is "normal". It's so nice (if you see what I mean) to have others to share this with that have been through the same. I wouldn't wish it on anyone but it's helpful to have people that know what it feels like. Does that make sense? I can't just assume everything will be ok once we're past 12 weeks, I won't be happy until this baby is alive and in my arms.

Bluetinkerbell · 24/08/2011 16:35

angel glad your friend had her baby!

I've been extremely grumpy today, no patience with DD, very hungry all the time, but only want to eat certain things... very tired as well.
did another ov test which was negative, I guess I will be past ovulation then...
will have to wait now then... so frustrating :(

really need some time to myself, as I haven't had any me-time in the last 4 weeks... looking after DD this week and trying to work from home really isn't helping. going to be happy when the childminder works again next week! sorry for the rant!

AngelGeorgie · 24/08/2011 15:49

Hi all hope everyones well? Xx

MelMal · 24/08/2011 08:20

Thanks Angel, that helps. That's what I'm on now. Should have been going on a girls cocktail day on sat but have cancelled cause of anti-bio. I assume DH and I are ok to be swi still?

Hi everyone Grin xx

greenzebra · 24/08/2011 07:56

too I hope your right, I dont feel it though, I dont think I am, but maybe thats a good way to be, then I wont be that dissapointed when AF arrives.
At the moment Im counting symptoms I dont have that I had last time, no tender boobs, and Im not that hot and thats a about it. Lol
But I am bitchy and tired but maybe thats me all the time. Its CD22 so I know its early, and have to wait till CD 40 till Im going to test, so a long way off.

Hope everyone is well this morning.

Can't wait to here Spilts news.

AngelGeorgie · 23/08/2011 22:29

Too my mate awaiting to have her waters broken. She has no patience at the best of times!!!!
Your midwife is coming to visit u at home??? How lucky are u ??? XxxWink

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 23/08/2011 22:27

Hello!

Mel, glad to hear that you're feeling happier. Smile At least you have the advice now, and you can make an informed decision.

Happy Birthday Blue! Hope learning the guitar goes well. I tried when I was about 15 and just never got the hang of it - used to keep dunting the guitar off the instructor's one and such...I say go pee on more ov sticks, btw.

Angel, how's your friend doing now? Any progress?

Green, I'm sure being bitchy is a sure sign of upduffedness! It must be, judging by me...Grin

Hi Razz, Cheese, Jane and Ciwi!

Have got the MW coming tomorrow for my booking appt, so have just finished hoovering the living room. Am about to go into warm-but-not-hot bath - bliss!

Still hoping for word from Spilt!

AngelGeorgie · 23/08/2011 20:52

BV doesn't " fester" in to anything more serious!! It's an infection in it's own right the only factor to consider is that the research is ambiguous as to whiter untreated BV in the first trimester can contribute to miscarriages. However, I ve not read anything definate just a query. I always treat pg women for BV or at least offer them tx. X

AngelGeorgie · 23/08/2011 20:21

Happy birthday Blue
^Mel* i posted on the d thread could be BV. Bacterial vaginosis is very common just a difference in the ph level of your vagina. Some women get it monthly due to the hormonal changes via our monthly cycles, what we wash with, stress, different sperm etc... ( know this doesn t apply to
U!!!) they should have prescribed you a week of Metronidazole. It's very common doesn t cause any problems. I spend my days treating BV. Wash your genitals with Aqueous cream won t prevent BV but better than Femfresh or smellies!!! In fact just finished work after 11 hours of treating BV, candida, chlamydia, warts etc.,.
My friend still not had her baby!!! Go Spilt xxx
