OP posts:
Mama5isalive · 03/09/2011 01:19

Hi all - i agree with AngelGeorgie - step far away from those threads they are pointless how can you think that having a girl or a boy is more important then a healthy and successful pregnancy! but i guess if you have not had a loss/losses then you can post that and people will answer!BLAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
ahhhh its amazing how tired you get at the beginning of a pregnancy i remember coming home and having a nap!
but glad all is well with u all!
Kitesurfgirl - your time will be real soon! so drink up quickly!!!!!

AngelGeorgie · 02/09/2011 23:30

Ciwi I too have a sticker from SANDS on my notes. Though, it hasn t stopped people asking me if this is my first!!!
People: step away from those stupid, pointless threads monoplised by stupid, ignorant people who don t have a clue. It's really not worth you all getting upset about. We all have bigger " fish to fry!!!"
Take care all xxx

Kitesurfgirl · 02/09/2011 22:46

Don't know which thread you guys were all referring too..but of course I had to go and have a look...
and I quote...' I had counselling for antenatal depression when I was pg. I was having a girl; when I found out I was devastated. I had wanted a boy my whole life.'

ERM LIKE WHAT????!!! Gender disappointment??!! Are these women for real? Obviously they have never lost a baby..or else they would realise how ridiculously selfish and 'me me me' they are being! Jeeezzzz! Silly women. A child is a blessing, not a right, and certainly not something to be mail ordered on demand. Angry off to get a large glass of wine as not pg yet :(

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 02/09/2011 17:21

Ciwi, I have a green sticker too. The MW has just been here dropping off my notes and she's put the sticker on them. She said the same thing - that it was just to stop people from going straight into the 'is this your first baby?' thing before they got the notes open. Glad work is going well for you, even if it is knackering.

I am appalled to hear that you were told to stop posting with your tales of woe! That's awful! I would have been tempted to ask MNHQ to step in - not quite sure what they would have done, but that's just beyond the pale. Angry

Vicky, glad that your urine tests are fine! Boo for the morning sickness - maybe it means that this baby is a girl.

vickyd0 · 02/09/2011 15:55

thnxz guys got another scan 23rd ,, urine tests came back fine so dnt know wat the white blood cells were.i think im jus gna stick with consultant and not bother with the midwife. been getting really bad mrning sickness had to get them bands , i think ben lead me on a false line wen i was pregnant with him no sickness ...

ciwi · 02/09/2011 15:27

Hi everyone, just popping on as I have been in work and am shattered! Time for an afternoon snooze I think. I have been really busy in the last couple of days as I have started a new job, gone part time in my old one and started this one part time. I am enjoying it at the moment and it is giving me a good focus to stop me counting down the days of this pregnancy!
I meant to say the other day, has anyone else got a green sands sticker on their notes? The ultrasound woman put it on my notes the other day to alert people to the fact I had suffered a loss and hopefully to stop people asking 'is this your first baby?' etc
Sorry you have all been enraged by another stupid gender preference thread. I haven't read that one but I posted on one a while ago where the op was 'gutted' to be having another boy. They drive me mad and there are always nasty people on there. I was told (along with a few others) to stop posting on those threads with our 'tales of woe' I got really offended at that and athough I wouldn't wish what has happened to us on anyone I do wish that they could walk in our shoes for one day and realise the pain we are going through. I honestly think it would make them appreciate what they have a lot more. Anyway, I will try to check in again later, off for forty winks now x

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 02/09/2011 15:13

It was one of my more fluent moments, anyway! I'm not really surprised she reported it.

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 02/09/2011 15:11

I wrote something along these lines:

OP, someone who says that others lack empathy and don't understand the deep longing for a girl frankly deserves a biscuit. There are ppl on here who have had miscarriages, sometimes many miscarriages, failed IVF attempts, stillbirths or who have never been able to conceive at all despite years of trying and medical intervention. I have suffered a stillbirth of a baby girl at 41+3, and while I am pg again and would like a girl as my first died, I don't care which it is so long as I get a healthy baby.

I told her to sod off with her lack of empathy, but I forget just how I phrased it. I said she lacked empathy herself and common sense...It wasn't the original post that riled me so much, it was her response when someone gave her a biscuit and someone else told her to watch what she complained about in TTC. I was kind of expecting a somewhat chastened response, but not a bit of it!

greenzebra · 02/09/2011 13:52

this is what I just wrote on there.

anyone out there who's got experiences to share though? I think unless you have had this deep longing and don't have a lot of empathy it's hard to understand.....

OP fair enough you feel like people have jumped on you for what you have said but do you not see how your words in the above sentance are hurtfull? Using the words deep longing and empathy are going to get peoples backs up. Including my own, it has nothing to to with your subject matter as there are already two threads in the conception section talking about this very subject, it is the way you have phrased your opinions. And Im not saying you are not entitled to these opinions but you should use some 'empathy' on a board (conception) that have alot of posters who are desperate for children, even one. They have been trying for years with no success, and some like me who tried for a long time only for it to end in stillbirth. That is deep longing and we have bounds of empathy.

If you want a girl fair enough but dont get upset when somebody takes offence at what you have written which has clearly not been thought out.

greenzebra · 02/09/2011 13:43

too please give us a low down on what you wrote. Im dying to know now.

greenzebra · 02/09/2011 13:42

too didnt get to read your post, but Ive just left one of my own. That women clearly has no feelings and is extremely selfish! And alot of the other posters are too they have obviously no 'empathy'

Good for you

what I dont understand is why she posted in the first place there was already two threads on here about the same subject.

janedoe25 · 02/09/2011 13:02

too I read your post and I couldn't agree more with what you said! Some people are so god damn ignorant! You should be proud of it, I was proud of you. Grin

MelMal · 02/09/2011 10:03

Too noticed that there were a few posts deleted. None of us would ever wish the pain that we've gone through to be felt by any other woman, but reality check, it will happen again to someone else. I think we're in the position where we appreciate everything a million times more than other "normal" women (iykwim) x

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 02/09/2011 09:51

Huh. Have just found that thread and read it through. Not a smidgeon of self-assessment or self-doubt - merely I am right and you are all mean b*tches. Honestly. And she got my post deleted and I was proud of it! It was the bitchiest thing I've ever written on here. Grin

AngelGeorgie · 02/09/2011 07:09

too with regards to my neighbour she 'll probably have a boy as shes one of those lucky people who always gets everything their way!! But I m trying to maintain the attitude of I m still better off than her as I ve already had my Georgie and also to not give a shit what other ( insignificant people to me) do or think!!!
Thank god it's Friday!!!! So tired. Off out with some friends tonight for a meal so that will be lovely. Yeh saturday tomorrow a lovely lie inWink
Hi all xxx

MelMal · 01/09/2011 23:19

Why did I read That thread? Curiosity got the better of me and I'm totally raging! Naivety must be a wonderful thing to have when dealing with being pg! Night all x

Bluetinkerbell · 01/09/2011 22:00

Too MNHQ moved the thread to other subjects and removed your comment. Pity really! I totally agree with you!

OP posts:
TooImmature2BDumbledore · 01/09/2011 21:53

Razz, I just got madder and madder the more I thought about it, so I had to go on and vent. I notice that the thread has vanished now, so I suppose someone must have reported it. Just as well. There are a couple of others as well but none are quite so smug and offensive as that one was. Angel, I think your neighbour was out of order too - if you care that much, then find out the sex at your 20 week scan and get over it before the baby arrives!

Cheese, I'm so glad you came back - I was worrying that something had happened. I find myself sinking much more easily at the moment, and I think it might be pregnancy-related. We drive past Thea every morning and evening and I always say hello to her, but on the way home tonight I had a flashback to the morning after she died, when I woke up at 5am in the hospital and cried. DH woke up too and rang the bell to get the MW to bring Thea to us and I held her and cried all over her. I don't know whether part of it is that DH is finally ready to help choose a headstone, so I know we'll be doing that soon. I'm glad the sunshine helped today and that you were able to go and visit Scarlett.

Green, hurray for work being so nice! That's so good, because you were so worried about it, and being off the heavy work with chemicals as well - excellent for ttc! Boo for AF, but that means today is Day 1 of your pg - and you can enjoy some delicious soft cheese and pate, if you feel so inclined.

I'm so tired. I'm going to have a bath and go to bed, I think.

AngelGeorgie · 01/09/2011 20:37

Those threads are stupid for silly ignorant people who have no experience in life. I don t even waste my time reading them. However, my neighbour , whos now 20 weeks pg told me last week that " she'd be really disappointed if she didn t have a boy " . I couldn t believe she' d have the nerve to say that to me!! I thought it was me being hormonal but all my friends agreed with me it was out of order,I was so proud of myself that I didn t respond " just be grateful that you ll have a baby that's alive!!"

Stupid,stupid people.

razzdazz · 01/09/2011 19:34

cheese Im so glad that you feel a little better, you will get there. I always find a calmness when I visit Thomas's resting place also. We all have to do whatever it takes.
too well done you for getting your point across on the other thread, you said it perfectly. You have also made me feel less evil.

CheeseandGherkins · 01/09/2011 19:11

Thanks everyone, I'm feeling a bit better now. Got out for a walk with the kids and dog and went to visit Scarlett too which left me feeling more peaceful. I'm just thankful I don't feel like I did this morning as that was just too much.

razz I do have support, I find it really helpful on here though actually with people that actually understand, noone really does in real life. Hope the sickness doesn't last too long for you! I always feel like answering those threads like that but seem to stop myself.

jane thank you x Fingers crossed for you

green thanks, the chat does help a lot, you're such a lovely bunch of women! x Really glad about work and that they were so understanding. Panic attack sounds horrible, I've suffered from them and they leave me so drained afterwards.

Mel Fingers crossed for you, hope it happens this month for you

shakey (hugs) I hope you can get lots of support in the coming weeks

Too I've just seen that thread and I think what you said was totally right, I always want to say the same. I would love to have a live baby regardless of gender.

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 01/09/2011 18:51

I was just reading one of those trying for a girl threads and wondering whether to post on it! Particularly the one where the poster said you have to either feel the deep longing for a girl or else have empathy to be able to understand. FFS! Actually, may give into temptation and go be really rude.

razzdazz · 01/09/2011 18:47

Hello all, Grin
green I am so pleased that your morning at work went well and that they intend to really look after you. It must feel so nice to realise that you are so well thought of Smile
I no that it is hard shakey but try to relax (you will have to remind me to do that soon im sure)

I feel really evil for typing the following but do any of you ever get slightly annoyed at the trying for a girl/boy threads??? I often feel like answering with a "does it really bloody matter, just pray for a healthy baby that lives" and have recentley said those very words to my cousin. Maybe im just super hormonal.
Hope everyone has had a good day.

shakeyjake · 01/09/2011 11:36

green boo for AF and glad your work is being good to you - its awful on that first day back.

kite i dont think people who have experienced loss do stress or think anything will go wrong, i know with my first 3 dc's after i got passed the 12 week scan i thought that was it a baby will be fine, i know that is not the case now.

i am now 14+5 getting closer to the time we lost grace and slightly panicing now. i go see the consultant next week and get another scan at 16-18 weeks. however other than being tired and getting headaches not having many symptoms at all.

MelMal · 01/09/2011 11:12

Green that's really good news about your work. I know that feeling of apprehension as I sat in the car for 5 mins before going in on my first day!
I've had a ridiculous day so far. It could be renamed national peeing on stick day! Decided to do pg test first thing and the ov test later as I have no clue where I am in my cycle just now. Both negative but I'm not sad about it as I was just being nosey.
Lots of hugs being sent to those who need it, I was like that last night. DH to the rescue for me last night!
I'm working at 5 today so about to head off to the shops Grin
