Am on sofa wrapped in duvet! Results for Down's, Edwards and something else will be back by Friday, hopefully, and the more detailed check of every other pair of chromosomes will be back in a couple of weeks. The second set of results will include the sex, too, so there is something good to look forward to.

Bluetinkerbell · 17/10/2011 15:47

Glad it went well Too! Now rest up! :)
when do you now the results?

Ok, am back. So far so good - Bean was jumping around both before and afterwards and didn't seem fazed by the big needle right next to his or her head! I have to watch out for any bleeding or leaking of fluid and call Triage if it happens, but period-y cramps are normal. So far I haven't got any. I keep worrying I'm leaking, mind - how do I tell the difference between amniotic fluid and discharge? Is amniotic fluid yellow? Maybe I should have a nap and stop freaking out.

Ciwi, how did it go?

greenzebra · 17/10/2011 13:44

mel thats good news hopefully you will be able to hear or see something of the heartbeat. Not too long to wait, but I bet it feels like an age.

MelMal · 17/10/2011 13:41

Dating scan on 2nd Nov. I'll be approx 7+ 3 then. I hope that that's not too early to see a heart beat. Was going to be the week after but we're away on a "stress" break.
I went up to the crem at the weekend with some fresh flowers and told Ruby about her new baby brother or sister. It was nice. DH was at the gym and then took the huff that I went without him. Men?!
Saying prayers for both Too and Ciwi going through their test/scans just now. I hope with all my heart that everything is fine with the ladies and their wee ones xxx

AugustMoon · 17/10/2011 13:07

Hi shakey, x posts with you, and everyone else

AugustMoon · 17/10/2011 13:05

Angel good luck for tomorrow.... Will be thinking of you, can't wait to hear about GILS x

AugustMoon · 17/10/2011 12:58

Thanks green - that's a good idea, I might try phoning to see if they look for a single umbilical artery when they scan at 20 weeks and if not, why not. Everything I've read suggests that it's associated with IUGR and that if it's detected you should be monitored in the last month. It makes me feel sick - wish I had a time machine.

greenzebra · 17/10/2011 12:50

dont ever be sorry for a post august we are all here to help each other through the good and bad times. Your going to be like this when they cant give you a definite answer, can you ring your consultant up and ask them why they didnt discuss this fact with you. It might help you to hear it again and to go through some more of your questions. Some times I think its a shock to hear the results and you dont always ask the right questions and in hindsight you wished you had asked about this and that.
I suppose I was lucky that the reason Ophelia died was quite clear, she had a tight knot in her cord that cut off her blood supply.

AugustMoon · 17/10/2011 12:39

Sorry posted too soon...
... With midwife led care. Sorry for the "what if" scenario, I know it's not healthy to be constantly looking for answers where none exist but I can't help it. I saw my friend's baby boy yesterday and i've been feeling terrible since - just anxious and panic-y and really restless night, bad dreams. Sometimes wonder how long I can live like this. Sorry for depressing post.

shakeyjake · 17/10/2011 12:37

wow i cant get on the pc for 3 days and soo many posts i have missed.

blue what a lovely thread i lit 2 candles, 1 for my angel grace and 1 for all your angels.

mel big congrats, sending you lots of sticky vibes! my due date is a couple of weeks before the date we had gracei am hoping they wont let me go too late.

too and ciwi thinking of you today (hugs)

my next scan is 25th. baby is moving more now which is a bit reassuring and dh felt it last night for the first time :-)

hi to everyone else :-)

oh forgot angel can't wait to hear about our 2nd rainbow baby :-)

AugustMoon · 17/10/2011 12:34

Tooand Ciwi thinking of you x
And thank you Blue for the thread on Saturday - had tears for all our babies while candle was burning Thanks
Anyone know anything about SUA? I got a letter from my consultant confirming the results of my tests and saying there was no specific reason why Jacob died but that I had 2 vessels in the umbilical cord. She glossed over that fact but when I spoke to my midwife she said that it is associated with problems and I've since read that there is a high incidence if fetal demise with this abnorality. I don't understand why the consultant didn't make more of it - thinking because they should have picked it up in a routine ultrasound and I would have had monitoring if they had - as it was I was low-risk with

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 17/10/2011 11:15

Ciwi, and lots of love - sorry to hear you had a bit of a meltdown last night. I'm sure it will all be fine today - good luck! I have exactly the same feelings about wanting to be able to keep this one. I just want everything to be okay!

Green, your boss sounds like a cock, grr! Good for you standing up for yourself. You're absolutely right that you shouldn't have to stand for that.

Angel, how are you today? GILS behaving herself? Good luck tomorrow! Looking forward to hearing from you - what time is your section booked for?

Mel, so pleased for you. Hope the MW gets back to you quickly.

Spent last night switching between terror and hope. It is exhausting! DH and I went out for dinner and at one moment we'd be giggling and having thumb wars and the next we'd be very sombre thinking about what was to come. Total mood swings in both of us. I slept well, though, and didn't have any bad dreams, so it's a good start for today.

greenzebra · 17/10/2011 10:50

mel Im so glad for you. FX for a sticky bean.

And my boss has deffo control issues. I pity his wife.

MelMal · 17/10/2011 10:29

Hi all, Green rise above them. Def stand up for yourself though. Your boss seems to have a touch of man PMT!! Just waiting on the midwife phoning today to arrange a dating scan. My dates make me 5 weeks today. This baby will be due round about the same time as Ruby's due date. Fingers crossed though x

greenzebra · 17/10/2011 10:06

I am so excited to hear your news Angel our second Rainbow baby on this thread, its so exciting! I can't wait to hear all the details (if you don't mind sharing)

razzdazz · 17/10/2011 09:19

too just want to say that I am thinking of you today and praying that all goes well, I am sure that it will xx
Also special thoughts to you ciwi and prayers for good news xx
Incase I dont get on again today I wish angel so much happiness tomorrow when GILS is finally welcomed into the world xx
green sorry your boss is such a tit!! You are right though, he is not important enough to matter!!
Hope everyone else is okay, wishing you all well.

greenzebra · 17/10/2011 09:02

God bosses are twats mine just tried to be-little be in front of the workforce, what a cock! Why can a guy be so nice to me and then when some one asks me for directions to a college I went to for 8 years, he cant handle it and trys to put me down. I had a go back! I dont care any more, in the past this would have had me in tears but this time I just dont care. If he doesnt like me standing up for myself then its his problem. He cant look at me at the moment.
Its like since Ophelia died I really dont care what happens, it means nothing, its no big deal anymore I have bigger things to worry about and deal with.
And knowing too what too and ciwi are going through today, this is so trivial.

Waves at everyone else.

mel how are you doing this morning? Have you done anymore tests?

MelMal · 17/10/2011 08:04

Too & Ciwi I'll be thinking about both of you today. I hope everything goes ok xxx

ciwi · 16/10/2011 21:50

Thanks for thinking about me girls, you really are a great support. I am just recovering from a major flip out, I am just so scared. I can feel this little one moving about and I just can't lose this baby too. I am tempted to wimp out of the scan but I know I can't, I have to face it to give the baby the best chance, it's just so hard though.

CheeseandGherkins · 16/10/2011 21:48

Also thinking of Too and ciwi for tomorrow, hope you manage to get some sleep tonight xx

Bluetinkerbell · 16/10/2011 21:33
