Hi girls, too and cheese I have just been lurking on the thread you both posted on earlier. why do people take risks with their babies? I just don't understand it grrrr. I was going to post too but it seems like there is no telling her so decided to leave it.
too good luck for your scan tomorrow x
mel glad you are taking things further with work, they need to know they can't treat people like that. Happy ov! fingers crossed you catch that egg this month x

CheeseandGherkins · 27/09/2011 19:20

Mel good luck for Friday, I think you're very brave to do that. I've mentioned about Scarlett to people in real life but never anything like that where people are focused on you and it's all about what you're saying. I hope you get somewhere with work too.

Too Trying not to take anything too often and relying on resting when I can and baths etc. My leg's hurting a lot today too and I couldn't walk very far, oh joy. Good luck for tomorrow, they might send you for the bloods after the scan, they did that with me.

Angel me too re scans, I hate the afternoon appointments as I'm waiting and worrying all day.

AngelGeorgie · 27/09/2011 18:21

Too will be thinking of you tomorrow xxx like you I always like to have scans as early as possible to get them done. Xxx
Mel good on you for putting your grievance in writing xx

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 27/09/2011 18:13

Hello!

Mel, hope the grievance gets somewhere and you make it better for the next person, like you say. Good luck at Sands on Friday! You'll do brilliantly, crying or no crying. I don't think it will matter if you cry, because they'll all be used to it.

Green, agree that care during pg needs to be overhauled, but not sure what exactly to suggest. Maybe more scans later on to pick up potential issues would help. I phoned the MWs and made an appt both times. My community MW has been good most of the time (some excellent care, such as immediately after the birth, and she's now giving me home visits; some bad, such as when she forgot to take blood from me after I was discharged from hospital, and when she forgot to do urine samples a couple of times during Thea's pregnancy). The labour ward MWs were wonderful, but the Triage ones were very dismissive (and perhaps I'm biased, because Thea died when I was in Triage waiting to be 3cm, so I hate everyone who examined me and didn't pick up any problems. Rational or not!).

Angel, glad you had a lovely time being pampered. Don't do too much housework!

Cheese, I hope you feel better soon. All your aches sound like a lot to deal with.

It's my booking scan tomorrow - I thought it was at 9 and it's actually at 1.30, so I will have to go into work and explain! Oops. I am a tiny bit petrified. I hate the run-up to scans. They are fine once the technician has said she can see the heartbeat, but I hate it beforehand. It doesn't say anything in the letter about taking nuchal bloods, so I am going to ring them in the morning and ask. And stamp my feet if they try to fob me off.

I made DH cry yesterday Blush. I am evil. I shrieked at him when he wanted me to cook. He admitted later on to worrying about the scan too, which might have something to do with the crying. I also cried buckets at my new book (the new Penny Vincenzi) because there is a really sad bit about a baby Sad. Why do people write such things? The author has the choice to make it happy or sad, so why choose sad?

MelMal · 27/09/2011 17:44

Hey Green I hope you feel like I did this month when she arrived. A little bit disappointed but happy that I knew where I was iykwim. I just did in OV test which although not positive there was a faint line - scrap that just double checked it and it is positive. Do you think that DH will be getting out the door tonight to go to the gym??? Workout of another kind I think :o

I also filled in the questionnaire for them - I have to be honest, my treatment was really OK as I didn't go through my GP and the midwife at the surgery. I went directly through my consultant which is what they told me to do and which is what I'll do the next time I get the positive test. I could just be imagining it but I think that my GP's nose was slightly out of joint when I told her that I went to them first and not her. Not that she was bad or anything but just that I wanted to get more care from the specialist dept.

Angel glad that you had a fab time at the spa. I am in sore need of a decent massage to sort out my dodgy neck! Maybe next month when I break off on AL.

Jane glad that you enjoyed the wedding - fingers crossed for you that you get the BFP (obviously preferable) or that AF arrives to help you start counting again.

Cheese Hope the pain starts to lessen so that you can try and "enjoy" some of this pregnancy.

I have now completed the formal grievance form for my work and it will be getting submitted to my line manager tomorrow. The welfare officer said that he takes his hat off to me for doing it but doesn't think that it'll go anywhere. I told him as long as it was flagged to the big Managers, I didn't care. I know that there is nothing that I can obtain from this but if it helps them realise how poor and how lacking in empathy they have been throughout all of this and makes sure that they don't treat anyone else like me then I've succeeded.

I'm doing the parents story on Friday at my Sands meeting. Feel OK about doing it but have written it all down and have been practicing it and can't get through it without crying. At least everyone there will know how I'm feeling which should make it a wee bit easier.

Hi everyone else (sorry for the epic post - this is what happens when I sit at an actual computer!!)

greenzebra · 27/09/2011 14:37

angel agree with you about the community midwives, Midwives at the hospital were amazing. Hospital care is amazing I find its community care and some GP's that are crap.

AngelGeorgie · 27/09/2011 14:10

Green I ve never been rung up by my MW to make my appointment I ve had to do it every time myself. As I ve said before I ve been very happy with medical care. I ve always found the community midwives a bit hit and miss. They don t do anything I can t do for myself.
Hi Ciwi yes, was a fab weekend.
Xxx
Hope everyone's having a good day? Xxx

janedoe25 · 27/09/2011 11:45

green i hope you are ok today. Zoe will be gone for 7 months tomorrow.

ciwi · 27/09/2011 11:00

green so sorry about the bfn and the witch, it really is a bummer. Treat yourself to a large glass of wine tonight, that's what I used to do and lot's of pma that this is the month.
I don't bother with the midwife, I rang my consultants secretary, she booked me in to see the midwife and the consultant. My main gripe with care after a mc is that when I had the scan to check if the mc was complete they sent me to the main ultrasound department where everyone was getting 20 week scans and coming out with pictures of their baby - very insensitive I thought.
blue fx you have just wasted your money on those ov tests and you only need the pg ones x
angel that spa sounds lovely, I am very Envy

greenzebra · 27/09/2011 10:33

cheers blue they are the same ones I use for ov, so might order them once I get paid at the end of the week ready for this cycle.

I have just been looking through the miscarriage campaign on here, very interesting reading, I filled in the questionaire for them (due to the cp I had couple of months back) I also put stuff down about how I was treated by the gps surgery when I rung them for an appointment due to the miscarraige. I also stated that I got more support and diagnosis on here with you girls than I did with the surgery.
I also wrote in my post that I dont think the booking in appointment is adequate or the information you receive and I think the whole care during pregnancy needs to be overhaulled. I dont think its right that we are left alone till we are rung up by the midwife to book your booking in appointment. Did this happen to you girls aswell? Did it happen this time around as well the girlies who are now pg?

AugustMoon · 27/09/2011 10:24

green, bummer :(

Bluetinkerbell · 27/09/2011 09:45

I threw away Sterre's BFP stick as it was a Clearblue digital and the text disappeared of the screen after a day or so. I threw it out before we lost her and regret it now :( luckily I have a picture of it! So I ordered 40 ovulation tests and 10 pregnancy ones. As I will be ov testing every day now, still have a few left from my previous order. I still have one Clearblue digital pregnancy test, as I bought a 2 pack when I was pregnant of Sterre, as I couldn't quite believe that it was gonna be a BFP from the first test, as I had tested negative twice before on cheapo tests.

Felt too tired for some swi-ing last night but managed to wake DH up getting him in the mood Blush Grin Said I would wake him up like that every morning Wink he didn't say no to that :)

Now getting reading to meet a lovely lady I met on the Christian prayer thread, we're meeting up for a coffee/hot chocolate at a shopping centre nearby!
And when I get back home it's tidy up time, as we're having a work meeting in our messy living room tonight.

green order here

enjoy your day ladies!

Arh.... Green bugger!!! Think CD 1 is always the crappest then you can get back to it. Positive thoughts for this month.
Jane it's gets annoying when you din t know 1 way or another doesn t it? Hope your body sorts itself out very soon. X
Cheese hugs xxx
Hi Too x
Hope everyone else is ok? Yup, spa break was chilled and u feel very pampered . Had a lovely pre- natal aromatherapy massage. Thoresby Hall is lovely it's just like being out of the world for 3 days I highly recommend it Grin
Just chilling now and a bit of housework. Lovely ( the chilling not housework!!!) xx

greenzebra · 27/09/2011 09:34

AF is stupid too I so want to join the BFP club and for it to happen on the 5 month anniversary.

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 27/09/2011 09:29

Grr, stupid AF, Green! Roll on next month.

Will post properly later - at work, and just logged on to check how the testing was going.

greenzebra · 27/09/2011 09:21

My DH said that next month is the the month he has a good feeling about it. It sucks though Ive just looked at the calender and realised that its 5 months today since we lost Ophelia and its kind of hit me that another month has gone to waste.

too and cheese I feel for you with the pain, I had side pain all through pg it was hell ended up in hospital for two days as they thought I had a kidney infection.

blue go for the combo, I think I might be joining you as the clear blue are getting expensive and I only have one left as I used one this moring for the BFN. and Want to save it for a deffo BFP as they keep really well still have Ophelias BFP stick.

jane I hope you body sorts itself out and you either get that BFP or you get af so you can start again.

angel glad you had a good pamper!

CheeseandGherkins · 27/09/2011 08:57

Morning all. Really foggy here this morning, looking very halloween like. I'm really stiff and in pain today, started to get worse yesterday and today is just as bad. My left leg is really painful and my shoulder is too, it's hurt since the crash but now it's worse. Not relishing the thought of more doctors appointments :(

jane glad you had a good time at the wedding.

blue I'd also go for a combination

angel spa break sounds like it was really good, glad you enjoyed it

green sorry AF arrived :( hopefully next month, it took me 7 months I think to get pregnant after Scarlett, felt like it would never happen.

too spd is horrible, I had it with ds2 and a little with Scarlett too and it started fairly early on. Hope you get the physio sorted. I have a physio appointment on Thursday but that's related to the car accident so I'll see how that goes.

janedoe25 · 27/09/2011 07:23

green Boo to AF! I had another BFN this morning but still no AF, I am now on day 39.Hmm I wish the with would show herself.

angel Im glad you had a nice break, you deserve it.

blue I would get the combo of OV and PG tests.

too I hope you get an appointment at the hospital you want. I had SPD quite bad with Zoe, I still get twinges around AF time.

Hope everyone is well. x

greenzebra · 27/09/2011 07:15

BFN and AF all within half an hour booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

its ok though Im not too down, roll on swi

AngelGeorgie · 26/09/2011 23:00

Cooee!! Too I m here!!! Been on our lush spa break got back today. Was fab. No , I m not on mat leave yet on AL now then back at work next Monday for a week. Finish 7 th October.
Hi to all; good luck blue & Green when testing.
Hope everyone is well? Sorry not to name check only had a quick skim through xxxx

Bluetinkerbell · 26/09/2011 21:56

okies... how many ov tests shall I buy? 15-20-25-50? or a combination of ov-test and pregnancy test which is pack of 50 and how many of each then?

OP posts:
Bluetinkerbell · 26/09/2011 21:51

hehe Too wouldn't that have been nice! way too early though!

need to buy some more ov-tests me thinks Grin

OP posts:
TooImmature2BDumbledore · 26/09/2011 19:29

Oh man, 3 possibles! The excitement! Blue, I read your post too quickly and just saw the bit that said there was a faint line, and I had a split second of super-excitement and then I realised it was an ov stick Blush. Maybe it's a good omen for later in the month.

Green, test, test, test! In the morning, natch, so as to have FMU and hike your chances of seeing a line. I didn't have sore boobs until well after getting the BFP - you're maybe just too early for that yet. Arf at not feeling pg now DH has agreed to the test! Grin

Jane, 38 days! FX so crossed I'll give myself carpal tunnel. It would be a brilliant early wedding present for you. You could always cheat by peeing on an ov stick if the pg tests are too scary.

Razz, hope the vomming eases up soon.

Where's Angel? She's not on mat leave yet. Is she on holiday this week or something? Hope all is well with her and GILS.

Hi Ciwi

I am suffering a bit from SPD, grr. It's not as bad as it was last time, but last time it wasn't sore at all until about 30 weeks, not 12! I need a physio appt, but I am a bit reluctant, because I think I will have to go back to the hospital where Thea was born, not the one I'm going to this time. The consultant said she could only refer me to a local surgery (ie, local to her hospital, which is not really local to me), not to the 'good' hospital and not to a physio in my local area. I might have to make a GP appt and ask there.

ciwi · 26/09/2011 16:26

green keeping everything crossed for you tommorrow x
jane fx you ov'd late and will still get your bfp, as long as the witch doesn't show you are still in the running x

janedoe25 · 26/09/2011 16:14

green I have no idea when I ov, I haven't been tracking it. It is so hard not to obsess, fingers crossed fro you.
