Hi blue sounds like a good idea , could you just ring and arrange a viewing, doesn't hurt to look?

Were in the middle of looking for somewhere abit bigger but have the same problem, can't realy afford to pay much more than we are now and 4 bedrooms which we want don't come up very often in this area

Bluetinkerbell · 06/10/2011 17:13

aaah I've just seen a house on the rental market 5 houses away from friends, in same village as we are now. No pictures on the website. From the description it says it is bigger than where we are now. We're not really in a great financial position, but it would be £75 more than what we pay now. We would gain an extra reception room and bigger bedrooms than what we have now. It's available beginning of December. Do we go for it now, in the hope we will need it soon for another baby or wait but risk not finding a bigger house in same village for when there is another baby. We can't stay in this house, as we need a spare bedroom to put sofabed for family and DD will need to move to big bed when there will be new baby.
sorry for long rant... DH is not at home and I don't want to let this chance go. We didn't really have much choice when moving in the house we are now, as it was the only house available and needed to be in same village. There are rarely new houses for rent around here...

MelMal · 06/10/2011 15:06

Fantastic news Razz that's just the kind of service and treatment that everyone should get! Glad you know though.
Hugs to you Cheese you know we're all thinking about you x
Too hope that your mum is able to sort something out for you to try and make things easier (?)
Angel glad that your wee scare wasn't anything to worry about. Hope your last week at work next week runs smoothly and quickly!
I'm pretty much on the wait just now like a few other ladies. Will probably test next weekend. Trying really hard not to look for signs as I don't want to disappoint myself. Pretty sure it'll happen soon.
Hi to everyone else and hope you don't all have this miserable weather that we have on the east coast of scotland!!

CheeseandGherkins · 06/10/2011 15:01

Oh razz that's wonderful! I'm sooo pleased for you :o I hope Tuesday goes well for you too :)

It's 10 months today since Scarlett was born so maybe that's why I'm down, not sure but I'm trying to busy my mind and not think too much. Done far too much thinking lately. Midwife went fine, all well. Back in 6 weeks to see her again. She asked if that was ok and I'm fine with that, she said I'd be seen so often in hospital anyway that she didn't want me to have to see her so often too. Fine by me, would rather be seen in hospital anyway.

Roll on tomorrow morning now. :)

razzdazz · 06/10/2011 14:44

Oh my goodness!! The genetics nurse from yesterday has clearly taken pity on me and just rang with the DNA results. My husband and I are both clear and do not carry any of the faulty gene in our blood Grin. I am so very relieved. We are not out of the woods yet as we still have a risk of recurrence but it is tiny at 1% compared to 1 in 3 if we had tested positive. I will just keep on praying that all is well and will see what they say in oxford on tuesday. Thank you so much for all of the good wishes sent my way.
Still keeping you all in my thoughts and hoping for your good outcomes also.
cheese sorry that you are feeling down today, you do seem to have so much go on in your life that I am not surprised you are exhausted. Hope your consultant looks after you well tomorrow and gives you back your fighting spirit, we have all been through to much to shrink away now xx

CheeseandGherkins · 06/10/2011 09:53

Morning, hope everyone's ok today. I have the midwife this afternoon, probably be the same as last time, whenever I bring anything up it's all "normal" when it just wasn't but I don't have the energy to argue. I'll leave it all with my consultant tomorrow. Feeling quite down today.

AngelGeorgie · 05/10/2011 21:44

I see Razz . I just didn t get why anyone would say to you" yes , your results are here but can t give them to you yet" seems very cruel . I would have been inclined to fib to the patient that they weren t available yet. Before anyone shoots me down in flames ; just to try & alleviate pt stress slightly then I would chase them up ASAP.it's obvious if you say to a pt " your results are here but we can t let you know yet that in itself will cause more stress & anger" . However, everyone is different & handles stuff in their own way I guess. Not long though Razz 24 little hours. Hang in there. Thanks for your kind words xxxx

razzdazz · 05/10/2011 20:41

angel I think you have done remarkably well with your calmness and indeed your calming thoughts and advice to others. The hospital where the tests are happening is in a different part of the country. When I was waiting for the results to confirm Thomas's condition my consultant hung onto the results for two weeks can you believe and got shirty when I rang to chase them up. So, not wanting the same to happen I contacted the testing hospital just to confirm that it was done to then pester local to get the results (hope you are following) as I totally understood they would be unable to give actual results. The lady was actually very nice and explained that they were reported on (thankfully) but needed this second signature. At least I no they are there and I will have them for my appointment at oxford and to help determine what the next step should be.
too I think that what your mum is doing is a good idea, I think if I had the option to wait for the best then I would even if it delayed things that bit more. Good old mum Wink

CheeseandGherkins · 05/10/2011 20:34

ciwi I hope it was Scarlett, it's a nice feeling :) Hope you don't get PE again, when I had it it came on fairly late but I really puffed up, very noticeable but I ended up having Dd1 at 36 weeks naturally anyway before they induced so luckily things went ok.

CheeseandGherkins · 05/10/2011 20:32

Had to take DD1 to the drs after school, she'd been coughing all day apparently but they didn't call me. She felt really ill so we were seen and told she has croup! Rest of the week off school and lots of rest. DH also needed to be seen and he has the same! He was given anti-biotics though because of the steroids he's on lowering his immune system.

Blue it would be lovely it that was a sign and that this is your month :)

razz glad it helped a bit! So Friday it is then? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and hope for good news x

Too hopefully you'll get a doctor with a better result and also sooner too.

Angel glad everything was ok in the end, must have been really worrying! Not long to go now for you :)

AngelGeorgie · 05/10/2011 18:48

Too sorry you re having to wait to the 17 th. Hope the time flies by for you. X
Razz hope you get your results by Friday. Don t understand why they told you they were ready if they re not really ad need counter signing!!Hmm x
Cheese not to Friday x we all seem to be playing a waiting game.
Blue get to it then!!! Loads of swi then fx this will be your month.
Hi all hope everyone else is ok?
Had a stressful day today , though minor compared to what some of you are going through. At work I checked my bp & dipped my wee ; bp raised and urine showed ; protein, ketones, glucose & leuocytes. I rung my MW , of course, couldn t get hold of her so rung my consultant who was in meetings all day. Went through to the day unit checked my bp: was fine, urine now only showed ; leuocytes which can indicate a uti but no glucose, which I was worried about as this can be an indicator of pre- eclampsia.had the tracer on GILS fine but not enough sleep/ awake periods to fit their" criteria" for discharge. Sent off for lunch then returned to have the tracer on again then GILS started behaving herself and did enough to fit their " criteria"
Bit scary really but don t think I ve done too bad to have my first " metalling" fit at 36 weeks!!!
Phew & breathe Louise !!!
Love to all xxx

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 05/10/2011 18:14

Razz, that's awful! Grr, I would be so angry in your shoes. Stupid rules over nothing - what exactly is this second signature going to add? Nothing! Angry Angry I'm glad you flipped at the genetics nurse. "Too busy" to pass on the information that you have been waiting for on tenterhooks since you got your BFP? Grr.

Ciwi, FX for your doppler. My amnio might get moved now - Mum has asked an obstetrician friend of hers to find out which doctor at RIE has the best results and get me an appointment with them. I told her I wanted it as soon as possible, so I hope she doesn't come back with a later appt.

Blue, hope that's a sign that this is the month!

razzdazz · 05/10/2011 17:11

cheese your outrage for me has actually allowed me to have a little giggle on what is a fairly frustarating day!! It is the lab that will not release the results to my consultant until the 'oh so important' second signature. Then the genetics nurse that works with consultant said they may be too busy to call me on friday at which point I really did flip. Think they will be making the effort to call me now. She also said she was surprised that the lab had told me they were ready. Why oh why do we have to beg for such life changing/affecting news????
ciwi I guess sadly you are in this horrid 2 week wait for news also, wish you tons of luck and goo vibes.
blue hope your good vibes bring you the news you really want.

ciwi · 05/10/2011 15:30

Hi everyone,
too your amnio is on the same day as my doppler scan to see if I am likely to get pre eclampsia early again or not. we can stress out support each other, fx we both have good days on the 17th x
cheese definitely your monkey playing tricks x
razz can't believe they are making you wait, can you interpret the results yourself if you just asked them to read it out? They are your results and you are entitled to have them.
blue fx this is your month and these are all signs to prepare you for it x

Bluetinkerbell · 05/10/2011 13:42

cheese I felt quite happy actually and surprised as well.
DH has been commenting about babies a lot lately, saying we've got all that to come (like crying babies) it might be a sign :) hopefully this month is our month Wink

OP posts:
CheeseandGherkins · 05/10/2011 13:39

blue that sounds odd for you too, how did you feel at the time?

razz they can't do that! Can't you call back and demand to know? They simply cannot make you wait until Friday, I'd threaten them with formal complaints and all sorts, definitely get them to give you the results today maybe ask to speak to your consultant? Get the person's name that you speak to as well and make sure they know you'll be holding them responsible for any anxiety caused, they might tell you then. You are legally entitled to know results when you call too, I was reading about drs giving results the other day and I found this out; they do actually have to give you figures. Hope you get it sorted

Too still waiting here! I think I'd definitely take a few days off after the amnio, I think the first 24-48 hours are the riskiest?

Bluetinkerbell · 05/10/2011 13:02

Hi razz will be thinking of you! so silly that they need a signature to be able to release it to you! will keep you in my prayers, hoping you get the results you want!

OP posts:
razzdazz · 05/10/2011 13:00

Sorry, hello blue Wink

razzdazz · 05/10/2011 13:00

cheese I love it when random almost unexplained things happen (that are good) gives me a warm feeling inside.
too think it is a good idea to go back to work and an even better idea to take the time off after the amnio.

I just decided that I had had enough of waiting for results so contacted the hospital that are conducting the test, I knew they wouldnt be able to give me any results, just wanted to no if the test was complete. Turns out that the reports were done yesterday but get this, I have to wait until friday to find out as it needs signing by another person who is not at work until then!! How frustrating Angry but at the same time I am shitting myself.

Bluetinkerbell · 05/10/2011 12:10

Spooky indeed! But very happy that you found it back Cheese saves you the money and trouble of ordering again.

Reminds me of a moment I had on Monday evening in bed with DH. We were just cuddling up in bed and I heard a baby cry. I asked DH if he had heard it, and he said no. It wasn't DD, cause I know how she cries. It was very strange.

OP posts:
TooImmature2BDumbledore · 05/10/2011 12:05

Spooky, Cheese! Think you might have a little poltergeist watching out for you Grin. Hope your diabetic team calls you back soon.

Razz, I'm off work today again but will probably go in tomorrow. It's too long a time to sit at home and worry, so I'm just going to have to go back. They will help take my mind off it - we're pretty busy at the moment and I shouldn't have too much time to think. I hope. I might take most of the week of the 17th off, though. The MW told me to plan to go home after the procedure and rest for at least the rest of that day, and I might take the Tuesday/Wed off as well. I can't think of anything worse than sitting at work flinching at every twinge wondering if it was a miscarriage starting and running to the toilet every 5 minutes to check for bleeding. Oh, and jumping every time my mobile rings.

Wishing you two all the luck and strength in the world!

CheeseandGherkins · 05/10/2011 10:47

Oh I forgot to mention this. When dh had some baking potatoes cooking in the microwave yesterday he opened it up to turn them again (had already done so a few times) and the keyring I bought him for Father's day just fell out of it. It's one with Scarlett's hand and footprint on and her name which had fell off the keyring a few weeks ago. We'd looked for it everywhere but assumed it had fallen off outside the house and I was going to get another ordered.

It's quite large as well this is the one. Probably just a coincidence but it's really odd I thought as it definitely wasn't in there before, it would have damaged the microwave and the keys aren't put in the kitchen either. They hang straight up on a hook next to the front door. We're right between the day she died and the day she was born too but 10 months ago (2nd and 6th).

It's a little comforting either way.

CheeseandGherkins · 05/10/2011 10:38

Angel thanks, only 2 more days now and have a morning appointment so hopefully not too long to wait.

ciwi Definitely, I'll be trying my best but I'm sure they'll be a lot of sadness too.

Too Ah I see, that makes sense and if it's 3-4 days with a lower miscarriage risk then it's worth the wait. Good luck for the 17th, I really hope it goes well. If you're anxious on the day maybe try some rescue remedy, it's safe during pregnancy and I found it has helped me in difficult times.

razz hope you don't have long to wait, can't imagine what you must be going through waiting.

Waiting and not knowing is so hard isn't it? Seems we're all doing that in different ways as well as waiting for our babies too. Feels like such a long time to go. I've not heard back from the diabetes team yet, might call again later if I've still not heard. Hope everyone's doing ok today xx
