Roll up, roll up...

This is the place to be if you are ttc post mc / pregnancy loss and need a little spot to call home.

Hello all,

We're back from 9 lovely days in the Maldives which was lush, hence no communications for the past two weeks! Finding these dank Autumn days a bit of a comedown since we got back and struggled to get my head around singing 'rudolph the red nosed reindeer' in DD's toddler group this morning. Is it really that close to Christmas?

Tomboy and Moomin I hope your bodies get back on track v soon. The wait after mc is so, so hard. I found that acupuncture and reflexology helped to regulate things after both losses.

Digi Did I read that you have your anomaly scan coming up? Fingers crossed all is well, that's a huge milestone x

Izzy Could you erm, give birth pretty much any day now?! Grin

I've been wondering if anyone has seen/heard from AandR? I'm guessing she's probably taking a break and will rejoin us when she has some good news.

I have my scan on Friday morning to try and rule out the same problem that we had last time, v anxious. I'll be 10+5 and that's really the absolute earliest they can check for neural tube defects with any sort of certainty so I feel like I've just been in denial since the bfp. Haven't allowed myself to bond in any way and we've only told our parents so far this time. I'm not sure I'll even be able to look at the screen. It feels like there are so many hurdles to jump. I'd just like to see a hb, then I'll look away and cover my ears while the consultant looks at the rest. Not sure if they'll do nuchal or not on the same day or if I'll have to wait, all being well, another two weeks til my routine 12 week appointment. I told a friend today and she asked at which point I thought I could relax and I honestly couldn't answer.

Moominsummermadness · 22/11/2011 17:47

Thanks Tomboy, AF seems to be getting stranger by the day. Today a lot of dark, watery stuff (sorry if TMI!!), just want this one to be over so that I can wait for the next cycle, am pretty sure that I won't conceive this month! Hope that you get your cycle back soon.

GreenOlives · 22/11/2011 17:43

Boo to stick and to crappy ridiculous cycle Tomboy Sad

TomboyWife · 22/11/2011 07:54

Well, stick said no. Again.

Please mister, can I have my cycle back please? Sad

TomboyWife · 21/11/2011 23:05

Moomin my first AF post-mc was a long and extra-heavy one as well. It's perfectly normal for things to be rather abnormal for a while. (Says the current poster child for abnormality.)

Olives thanks for the birthday wishes!

I've been resisting POASing because I don't want to see yet another BFN on this ridiculous cycle, but I suppose I should take the plunge. If nothing else, I've been drinking and caffeinating as if un-pregnant on the assumption that I won't be fertile again until AF shows up, and if I'm not un-pregnant, I should obviously stop that.

GreenOlives · 21/11/2011 20:16

Hi Ladies, hope you are all well, weekend sounds great Knitter, camp bed and all!

Hope you're feeling relaxed and prepared for your imminent arrival Collie, very exciting!

Tomboy I'm sure it is entirely possible to get a BFP in this bizarre cycle - gotta be worth a test?! And belated happy birthday Thanks

YRMOTB I'm in awe of your xmas organisation! And 4 weeks left at work will fly by I'm sure.

I have everything crossed for your SIL Moomin and for you getting rid of AF (hopefully for the next 9 months!)

Nothing new here apart from sore boobs which means AF will shortly follow then I can crack on with operation TTC yet again! Depressingly it has now been 2.5 years since we first started TTC no.2 (sigh) and it's getting boring now! Still the mood DS has been in for the last 2 days its probably just as well I don't have a sibling to cope with too - think he must be having some sort of testosterone surge or something!!

Big waves to everyone else.

Moominsummermadness · 21/11/2011 19:46

Hello lovely ladies!

Have had a little giggle about Knitter's DH/DS camp bed excitement, although I actually think that my DH WOULD be excited about a camp bed, mo n all. Some people never grow up, we bought a tent last year, and I thought he was about to burst with excitement when we got to to the campsite.

This first post AF is dragging on and on. On day 11 now, although it's just the yucky tail end of it, it feels that there is no end in sight! I just want to get on with TTC, am getting impatient now. I used to ovulated around days 10-12, so my cycle is obviously out of sync. I've got a feeling it's going to take my body a while to re-establish itself.

Please all keep everthing crossed for my lovely SIL this week, as she completes her first cycle of IVF after trying for DC no 2 for 3 1/2 years. I really hope that it works for her.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 21/11/2011 17:50

Now you see I did think it was a bit odd that knitter's dh was so enthusiastic about the campbed but didn't like to say anything as he seemed so excited Grin

lily06 · 21/11/2011 17:24

Grin at Knitter and DH / DS mix-up, had me wondering there too - glad the weekend went well.

Tomboy have you tested yet, its entirely possible. I had a bit of spotting with my last bfp exactly when AF would have been due, aparently its quite common.

Collie any news yet? Been lurking on the grads thread for you too, just in case.

YRMOTB wow not long left at work then, sure it will fly over. Very organised with the xmas stuff, I've yet to get started.

Tina & Falcoln hello if you're around x

Thanks all for the welcome back, all good here so far.

KnitterNotTwitter · 20/11/2011 21:14

YRMOTB - good spot. Yes the plan was that DS was going to be on the campbed... In the end he managed half the night in the campbed and half in bed with us on Friday. Then last night half in teh campbed then he transferred in with us... at which point I cunningly shimmied out and into the campbed :)

Weekend went well - we may repeat the trick at Xmas when my parents are back up for a few days.

hugs and kisses to all

Velvetcu · 20/11/2011 20:03

I fell off too!

tomboy you know the answer is yes of course you could have conceived! Fx here!

Hellooo everyone

TomboyWife · 20/11/2011 15:07

Collie how exciting! I await news!

Oh, and sorry to hear about your van. We went on holiday in ours, though we didn't camp in it. All was fine on the way there, but we broke down on the way back. Sad DH has had a look and doesn't think the problem is major, so that's at least a silver lining.

(DH suggests you might want to replace your gaskets and make sure there's compression if your one is leaking. I sort of know what that means...)

Still no AF here. Just a single solitary spot yesterday. This is most unlike the way I normally come on. Could I have ov'ed and conceived despite not having a period last time it was due? I know it's not likely, but I do wonder...

CollieandPup · 20/11/2011 04:26

I've fell off the thread, sorry ladies!

lily lovely to hear vpfrom you and thsr you're now ready to jump back into ttc! I really hope a bfp is just around the corner for you!

Lots of great scan news!!!

knitter excellent scan news so so happy for you!

Edwards great news on your scan too!

mouse yay for booking in and good scan! Smile

moomin glad to hear your wtf cycle is finally over!

tomboy your short break sounds lovely! Not in your van though I assume? Our is poorly now too....doesn't start and has a leak!!!

olives hope your AF comes soon

yrmotb 11.5 days left of work!!! That's nothing! Those 4 weeks will fly! I'm impressed with your preparedness (is that a word?!) for crimbo!!! I just about got most of my Christmas gifts on Friday although I still have some small bits to get and I have nothing for DH!!! Although to be fair we bought a new expensive camera and said that was our gift to each other, but I still need something for him to open on Christmas day!!!

Tina hope you're ok Hun?

It's my EDD today!!

Youremindmeofthebabe · 19/11/2011 15:25

knitter did you mean your DS will sleep on a campbed, or is your DH unusually excitable?Grin

tomboy the symptoms are promising, here's hoping that AF is just around the corner. Happy birthday! i hope you were spoilt rotten, sorry that you're feeling a bit down about it.

lily! Lovely to have you back proper for the full on mentalling that is TTC. Hope you're ok.

green that sounds like a plan, and I'm sure it can only be of benefit either way!

Loving the Mo talk. I am finding all the mo's I come across hilarious. Although it's much funnier when you don't have to kiss them, I feel your pain moomin

In other news I only have 11.5 more days to work. Unfortunately this equates to nearly 4 weeks, but we will gloss over that part. I have done my xmas shopping and only need to buy wrapping paper and cards. Am starting to feel festive, or at least I will after ds's bday on the 30th of November.

TomboyWife · 19/11/2011 11:18

I'm getting some promising pre-AF symptoms (cramps, slight metal mouth, yelling at the dog), so hopefully my cycle will be back in business in the next day or two.

I've also had my 37th birthday, which is depressing me mightily. We started TTC just as I was turning 35, we've been at this for two years now, and we have nothing to show for it. Sad

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 18/11/2011 19:35

Hello all, it has indeed been quiet in here!

edwards fabulous news re scan Grin Grin

tomboy hope your cycles settle down soon, that must be so frustrating!!

Best of luck to tomboy and moomin and anyone else in full ttc mode...

knitter great to hear you sounding so positive, hope you have a good weekend Smile

ladymb are you out there? How are you doing?

GreenOlives · 18/11/2011 18:39

It has indeed been quiet in here! I'm just waiting for my AF to arrive next week so I can properly start on the TTC rollercoaster again!

In the meantime as well as all the supplements I'm also trying to eat super healthily so I'm in prime condition to grow a baby (and maybe lose a few lbs before Xmas!)

Hope all you ladies are well and have a lovely weekend xxx

KnitterNotTwitter · 18/11/2011 14:08

Hey ladies

it's been jolly quiet here - hope that means you're all ok. Fun weekend planned with my parents coming up to visit. The plan is that DH is going to sleep on a campbed in our room - apparently this is going to be a big adventure!!

hugs and waves to you all

lily06 · 18/11/2011 11:34

Morning ladies. Well, I'm back on the rollercoaster that is TTC. Just though I'd check in here and see how everyone else is doing. Lovely to see good scan news.

TomboyWife · 16/11/2011 23:04

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. We took a short break in Cornwall. A lovely and relaxing time was had by all, but there was basically no internet.

knitter and edward fantastic scan news! So pleased for you both! Grin

Moomin good to hear your WTF cycle is over.

Still no AF for me. I'm pretty convinced my body just skipped a period and decided to wait for the next one. It's happened before, once after an injury and again on my 8-week WTF cycle. I'll probably phone the GP if nothing happens in the next week though.

Moominsummermadness · 13/11/2011 10:57

Brilliant news, Edward!

Knitter, my DH is also growing a mo, but at the moment it's a full beard, and will shave it into a moustache next weekend apparently. I can't stand it- his brother's told him that it looks good, I've just told him that it looks ridiculous, and brother isn't the one who had to kiss him! He's got a shaven head, so it just looks wrong, lol.

I got my first post m/c period on Friday, after a couple of days of spotting (was hoping it might be implantation bleeding, but we hadn't reallt TTC). I'm quite pleased, as it was only 4 weeks and 3 days after the EPRC, and I wasn't expecting things to return to normal quite as quickly. We now officially have the green light to TTC, as we advised to wait for one period. Just hope it doesn't drag on for too long, they last for up to nine days sometimes.

edwardcullensotherwoman · 12/11/2011 22:16

Thanks ladies Smile

olives my DH was exactly the same in the cycle after mc (even though I didn't have surgery or anything), so can sympathise with the frustration! Hope next month comes quickly for you Grin and hope you are healing well.

knitter I had to "lol" at your DH's mo, and shaving it off for you, bless him. DH has got a bit of a "cba beard and tache" going on atm, I may have to give a bit of an explanation too!

KnitterNotTwitter · 11/11/2011 21:22

great news edward and Happy Birthday

olives well done to your DH for his zen-like restraint... he's just doing it to make himself even more desirable for next month...

My DH has been growing a Movember Moustache. Has shaved it off now as I've explained that the mo is the reason he's not been getting any :)

GreenOlives · 10/11/2011 15:13

Hey edward, fabulous scan news and a very happy birthday to you too Thanks Grin Grin Treat yourself to some Wine (Shloer of course!)

I'm struggling with not TTC in this WTF cycle. Have got lots of ovulation pain and EWCM (TMI!) but DH is adamant that we wait until next month to give me a chance to heal properly. I realise he's probably right but even so I'm finding it frustrating!!

Hello to all!
x

edwardcullensotherwoman · 10/11/2011 14:30

Hello! Grin for knitter - fab news from the scan! really pleased for you.

mouse must be nice to be officially booked in now Smile

Hope everyone else is well!

I had the best birthday present ever this morning - perfect scan, heartbeat and all! Confirmed as 7 weeks, no need for bloods or to go back to EPU, so just have to wait to see midwife at the end of the month Grin
