Roll up, roll up...

This is the place to be if you are ttc post mc / pregnancy loss and need a little spot to call home.

digi are you in London? And if so, do you have any recommendations re: acupuncturists?

Moomin argh, that sounds un-fun. Hope you stop bleeding soon. Sad

Olives good luck with SWI!

Still no AF, but now I'm getting what seems like proper EWCM, so I'm hoping my body's gearing up for a nice ovulation followed by a nice luteal phase.

GreenOlives · 29/11/2011 15:08

Sad Moomin really hope your marathon bleed ends quick smart!

I'm CD5 now so gearing up to recommence SWI at the weekend, I did mention the Knitter patented method of 3 times a day Shock but from the look on DH's face we may stick to the once a day or every other day and keep our fingers crossed!

Moominsummermadness · 28/11/2011 18:11

Hello Ladies,

Tomboy, I reckon I'm having your AF for you! It's getting beyond a joke now, am now on day 21 of bleeding. The last couple of weeks have been fairly light, old blood, but today I've got bad cramps and the bleeding is heavier. I'm in 2 minds whether to go back to the GP- but I think that they'll just tell me that it's normal for things to be weird after a mc. It's really getting me down though.

Great news for wiggle and digi. Well done to edwards for booking-in. Hope everyone else is well.

digitalgirl · 28/11/2011 15:25

wiggle I am beginning to relax a bit more. Amazingly starting to think in terms of 'when' this baby arrives rather than 'if'. I think the little kicks are helping too.

tomboy I've probably mentioned this a thousand times before but I used acupuncture to regulate my cycles after MC. My cycles are generally irregular but I've always had to wait 60 days from MC to first AF. With the help of acupuncture they settled around the 40 day mark (which is about normal for me). I imagine someone who usually has normal cycles would find acupuncture to be quite effective at rebalancing their hormones compared to imbalanced, PCOS-riddled, old me.

Well done for booking in with the mw edwards - I found that to be quite a psychological break-through. Especially the way they talk so easily about the future, childbirth, breastfeeding...it's quite affirming in a way.

GreenOlives · 28/11/2011 14:21

Hello ladies, hope you are all well?

Tomboy really not sure what your GP can do about your cycle but I think it's worth a visit to them. I can't offer any advice as despite it's seeming inability to hold onto a pregnancy my stupid body is actually quite effective at providing a regular AF! In fact I even had regular periods all the way through breast-feeding my big & greedy DS!

Great scan news Digi!

And Grin at your secret doppler fix Knitter!

TomboyWife · 27/11/2011 11:11

digi wow, 20 weeks already! How time flies!

wiggle I'd kipper you for trying to guess the sex when not even professionals can know yet, but I have a feeling I might do the same. Grin

Oh, and someone asked if I'd tried using ov sticks. I've never done the charting/OPK thing because when external stresses and other crap aren't interfering with my cycle, I'm regular and the physical signs of ov are pretty easy to spot. Maybe it's worth a trip to Boots.

If I went to the GP and said my cycle wasn't regulating post-mc, would they be able to do anything except pat me on the head and tell me to keep waiting?

edwardcullensotherwoman · 27/11/2011 00:33

Hi ladies! I fell off too, sorry! It's been ages since I was here last, so much to catch up with. My memory is awful at the moment (saw mw last tues, left the room with her number on a piece of paper, forgot about the paper when I got in the car so went back to ask reception, then suddenly remembered I did have it when receptionist was on phone to mw. They must think I'm nuts!)

tomboy and olives hope your bodies get back into cycle-mode soon Smile
excellent news for wiggle and digi at scans!
knitter , have fun with the doppler (try not to freak yourself out too much!) I know what you mean about "jinxing", I'm so glad I'm not the only one - each stage so far I've thought that! Telling my mum and close friends, booking mw appointment, going to appointment, getting mat clothes out (yes, at 9 weeks I'm so bloated I'm back in my maternity trousers Blush ).

I booked with the midwife today, so will be getting my date for dating scan in the next couple of weeks Still don't know where my antenatal care will be though, so frustrating! I think I've mentioned before that I carry a gender-specific disorder, so the hospital depends on the sex of the baby. But I can't have the blood test until 15th December, so I'm in limbo until then. Mw has been great though - she booked me locally and just said they'll transfer me if need be.

getawiggleon · 26/11/2011 23:40

Digi That's fantastic news! 20 weeks, wow. Do you feel like you can start to relax a bit now?

Knitter Does it tell you the heart rate? I think I'd be obsessed if I got a doppler.

I wasted spent an hour comparing my 11 week scan photos to pictures on the internet this morning trying to determine the gender by looking for a 'hamburger' or a 'snail'. FFS. Even an experienced sonographer would struggle this early on. There is so much crap on the web and I seem to be very adept at finding it!

I've bought DD a Dolls' house for Christmas. It's unpainted and tonight, in a bid to avoid all the rubbish on tv, I decided to paint the bathroom so I think I may have committed myself now. Whoops. Just the kind of 'project' I need 2 weeks before we move (real) house!

KnitterNotTwitter · 26/11/2011 22:24

Great news digi

Had my first play with the doppler this evening. took a long time but I found the bean's HB.... DH is away so it's my secret at the moment... suspect he'll think it's a waste of money but then he isn't the one freaking out twice a day...!

digitalgirl · 26/11/2011 20:45

De-lurking to say YAY for wiggle!!!

Had my anomaly scan earlier this week and all was well. Will be 20 weeks on Monday Grin

getawiggleon · 25/11/2011 23:11

Tomboy I have no idea what is going on! I waited 6 weeks after first erpc and 5 weeks after second for af to return but my cycles were pretty much back to normal after that, give or take a day or two. Could it be that you are ovulating? Have you tried ov sticks instead? Which brand of pg tests are you using?

TomboyWife · 25/11/2011 22:38

Fab news wiggle! Grin

Welcome Ostrich. We're all here for hand-holding and general freak-out support. It's completely natural to want to hold off telling people. I was lucky not to have to un-tell many people after my mc (just one very close friend and my dentist), and I plan to keep mum for a good long time next time round.

I'm still in limbo here. No AF despite various signs of impending AF, and I'm getting the weirdest CM. Absolutely enormous clumps of clear, tacky stuff that's neither EWCM nor my usual pre-AF mucus. (Sorry if TMI.) DH thinks I'm up the duff, I think my clutch of BFNs rather suggests otherwise.

Has anyone else had a cycle this long after their WTF? I've lost count, but it's been something like 8 weeks since my last period. (I've had 2 periods since the mc.)

getawiggleon · 25/11/2011 12:11

Hello ladies,

Just popping in with some good news Smile Everything looked well on scan this morning (I had 3 consultants in the room for some reason) The baby was v obliging and lay in perfect position for them to check everything. The head has formed completely, ruling out anencephaly this time and they even gave us some 3d shots and photos to bring home with the bean covering his/her eyes. We were amazed how life-like it looks at this stage. Also I'm measuring ahead of my dates. 11+3 when I thought I was 10+5 Confused Is this ok? Am I growing an elephant?

Next hurdle is 12 week scan next Fri when they will do nuchal and an extra check for spina bifida.

Hope everyone is ok. This has been a lucky thread so far so hopefully there'll be some more good luck soon.

Welcome and congrats to Ostrich (I just hesitated over the extra t too yrmotb!) I totally understand the not wanting to tell anyone/ jinx things feeling. Even after today's news I think I may hang on a bit longer.

Tomboy Any news yet? Belated happy birthday too Smile

mousebacon · 24/11/2011 21:39

Hi ladies, hope you're all well. Those due dates have come round fast!

Good luck for the scan wiggle I hope it all goes well.

Well done on telling people knitter. I had to tell too as I'm already in that too big for a lot of my clothes and too small for mat clothes (was starting to resemble a scarecrow).

Good luck too all who are on WTF or ttc at the mo. This has been an incredibly lucky thread (touch wood) and I hope it continues for you all.

Youremindmeofthebabe · 24/11/2011 15:23

Hello ostrich- welcome! For some reason I always want to spell Ostrich with an extra T in it. I shall have to purge myself of that. Congratulations! I essentially played Tetris whenever I had a spare moment in my first 12 weeks and DP thought I was depressed Confused. Really, I just couldn't deal with thinking about it.

knitter I found myself thinking of having jinxed everything only 2 weeks ago (32 weeks) after having washed the baby clothes in neutral from DS and picking up the cot from my SIL. So I totally understand.

loup I hope you keep popping in, it will be lovely to hear when you get your BFP. Hugs x

Loup23 · 24/11/2011 11:31

Just popping in to say hi as have been lurking for weeks without posting, hoping tina and falcon are out there? There's lots of positive stories on here and so many BFPs it's great but as we've been ttc since mc in Feb/March I feel a bit out of place as a "long termer"so have found a 10+plus thread. Will keep popping in and reading all the good news and hoping fo rlots more x

KnitterNotTwitter · 23/11/2011 22:34

ostrich WELCOME... lovely to have you here with us :) Congratulations. I know exactly what you mean about telling and then untelling people... It's such a horrible experience - I've got a bit of a fear about it this time...just can't bring myself to put it on FB...

Amusing week here - seem to have been doing lots of things that are giving me the fear... Got maternity clothes out of loft. Sorted through maternity clothes. put maternity clothes in wardrobe and put clothes that require having a waist in box in loft. Started wearing maternity clothes. Realised had to explain suddenly very obvious podgy belly - tis' not doughnuts it's a baby. So have now told work, friends, family etc...

At each step of the way I've been convinced that I've jinxed things but then have to have courage and remain confident that these things cannot be jinxed.

Have also bought myself a doppler... obviously expect freak-out messages from me soon when I, through my own incompetence, cannot find HB once it arrives...

Hugs to tomboy your WTF sounds very WTF :(

Ostrich78 · 23/11/2011 15:32

Hi all,
Just wanted to say hi as thought it would be rude not to! I've been lurking since my mmc early September at 11 weeks. I tested friday and got a bfp but finding it much harder than I thought as I've not told anyone yet (last time it was heart breaking untelling everyone).
Ox

Youremindmeofthebabe · 23/11/2011 12:46

Ooh, wiggle, best of luck for Friday then. I'm sure it will all be well. I'm very jealous of the maldives.

moomins my first AF after mc was 9 days long(!) and really lumpy, sometimes watery, sometimes dark, sometime bright. Over the next 8 periods it got lighter until back to usual 3/4 days of medium/ light flow. And then I got pg.

tomboy that's shitty. Sorry.Sad

Waves to everyone else.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 22/11/2011 22:44

wiggle I'm 39+3 so guess it could be any day (eeek!). Glad you had a good holiday and I'll be thinking of you on Friday - it's sooooo nerve-wracking isn't it Sad. I hate scans now, even if I can actually feel the baby moving I still can't look at the screen until they say they've got the heartbeat. I'll be keeping everything crossed that you get some reassurance, you're definitely due some good luck x

moomin and tomboy I hope your bodies start cooperating soon Sad
