Good luck for the scan tomorrow dachs

Hi Louise sorry you're here but everyone is wonderful and amazingly supportive Smile

MissTinaTeaspoon · 04/09/2011 11:02

Great news on the hcg lady! Yes, my periods last for ages, 2 days of spotting, then 5 days of bleeding, then another 2 days spotting, so 1/3 of the month really!

Waves to dachs and Louise

How did it go yesterday yrmotb? I bet you all had a lovely time x

DiffedAgainDachs · 04/09/2011 10:15

louise Welcome to the thread! I'm currently 6 weeks pg again with ICSI (having lost ICSI twins at 20 weeks in May), so everything crossed for you that it works for you again next time.

ladym DH thinks and hopes there is just one in there. I'm thinking, based on the fact that CB Digi went to 3+ two days earlier than it should have done, that there are two in there again. I guess we'll find out tomorrow. If there are two I'll be thrilled but desperately desperately worried after last time (also because my obstetrician who i really like will be cross with me if there are two). Twins would be great but obviously far far riskier so one would be safer. I just hope we see at least one heartbeat tomorrow. Your HCG levels look really really good! :)

Louiseteacher30 · 04/09/2011 10:01

Hi ladies,

Tina, of course I dont mind you asking. DH has very low motility and other issues and it was taking us a while, we looked into self funded IVF and we were suitable (of course we were, they want our cash!). We chose an amazing clinic abroad, I get the same dr, nurse and coordinator with every appointment and all treatment including ICSI- where they inject the sperm into the egg/ cultivation of embryos to 5 days/ all meds/ hotels/ flights/ three monitoring scans and the offer of helping out with injections on days I was feeling less brave came to £4,000, so a lot less than the uk.
I also did lots of charting when we were trying naturally and spent £100s in ovulation tests, I was definitely addicted!!!

Thanks also Ladym for the welcome, lovely news on your HCG levels! Your GP should prescribe progesterone shouldnt they? How quick do you get your blood tests back from the drs?

Back to school tomorrow, better do some work :-(

Louise

LadyMaybe · 04/09/2011 06:12

Hi ladies, hope you're all having a lovely weekend.

digi it's interesting to hear you say your boobs are heavier, mine are too this time around - although I haven't started my progesterone yet. I freaked a little a few days ago when it felt like they weren't as tender/sensitive and then realised that I'd switched to a more padded-type bra which was helping shield the senso-nipples from the cold. Blush.
I hope you do feel some sense of reassurance with a good scan this week. Although I understand that feeling of knowing it can go wrong a day after. At least the very least it will show you how things are going so far and we all have our fingers crossed that they are going normally
Did you make a decision about the shoot? I think I'd be useless trying to stay focused, I can barely go half an hour at the moment without flicking out my phone to obsess over progesterone/hcg/miscarriage treatment protocols.

Tina it sounds like a good idea to take it a bit more chilled this month. Not sure if anyone else has suggested this but I did find stopping charting once I'd ov'd a good way to stop obsessing as well. I went through a period where every little dip or rise was being echoed by my mood, and my Luteal Phase is pretty standard so once I was sure I'd ov'd I just didn't take my temp anymore until a few days before my period was expected. Sorry your AF is taking an age. You spotted for a while beforehand too didn't you? Must make it all feel very drawn out.

hi YRMOTB I've forgotten what course you're doing at uni? Have been contemplating (in a not very focused way) the idea of doing some study while I'm at home. My freelance career has not been a roaring success yet and I feel a bit of a fraud being at home not taking advantage of my 2 days childfree. Glad the scan went well. How was the meet-up? very Envy...would have been nice to be able to go.

Gah AandR - radiology and work. God how frustrating and galling. The 'girls' indeed! That just wouldn't be accepted in my (former) profession. In fact I can hear the derogatory/disbelieving laughter in my head. Can understand why it makes you question whether it's worth it. And such a pain about the referral. However good to get the name of the consultant.

waves to izzy and velvet how are things going m'dears? I hope it's all smooth sailing for you both?

Mouse sooooooo pleased that you are going to get tested for the sticky blood thing. Hooray for lateral-thinking/flexible doctors. I have everything crossed that the boss from hell has managed to find a heart/brain/conscience somehow before you go back.

MissTinaTeaspoon · 03/09/2011 22:02

Louise the black cloud might hang over you for a while yet but give yourself time to grieve, and do whatever you need to allow that to happen, whether that's going to work and getting on with things or taking some time out. Physically it's good that you've had a bfn, hopefully your cycle will kick back in soon (if you have regular cycles, do you mind me asking why you need ivf?), mine took 3 months to get back to normal, but everyone is different and my loss was at 11 weeks so it might not be so long for you.

In the meantime come on here whenever you need a cry/rant/laugh!

Louiseteacher30 · 03/09/2011 20:05

Thanks Tina

I'm very very up and down hormonally at the minute, is that normal? And if so how long should I expect this dreadful black cloud to last?
We have the next round of IVF booked for 7 weeks and they said Im an excellent responder but yet Im still down.

I also did a pg test this morning and it was negative so I know the hormones are beginning to pass

MissTinaTeaspoon · 03/09/2011 19:40

Hi Louise, welcome. I'm sorry to hear of your loss, we have all been through it so ask anything!

Louiseteacher30 · 03/09/2011 16:43

Hi ladies,

Can I join your lovely thread? I post regularly on the IVF/ICSI thread, to cut a long story short- I am Louise age (nearly) 30, DH in his 40's and we went through our first IVF in the summer. It resulted in a BFP but later the little bean stopped developing at 4 weeks ish 8 days ago. I had a really rough week, my emotions have been all over the shop, just really blue, however after careful consideration we decided to jump back on the IVF train and start stimming again approx 24th Oct....can now say, next month!!

Im a primary teacher back at work on Monday so Im looking forward to being kept busy for the next few weeks.

Louise

DiffedAgainDachs · 03/09/2011 14:16

tina I will be 6+0 on Monday, so hopefully would be able to see a heartbeat (last time I had a scan at 5+6 and one bean we could see a heartbeat but the other one we couldn't as it was still a bit small - we saw a heartbeat on that one two days later)

MissTinaTeaspoon · 03/09/2011 14:09

Hello

Good luck for Monday dachs, l really hope that you see a little bean (or two!) waving to you! How many weeks will you be?

yrmotb enjoy the meetup, I'm sure you are having a fabulous time! Next time come a little closer to South Wales please! Grin Im glad you had more good scan news Grin

Yay for great knee doctor mouse, how fabulous that you are getting what you need, albeit in a round about way! Grin

Good luck with the opks Edwards, which ones did you go for in the end?

AandR - weird coincidence - that cafe you mentioned that I've never heard of before had a mention in Olive magazine this month - so I looked them up, it looks lovely! Shame it's a 3 or 4 hour drive for me to try it out! Glad you found out about another specialist.

Good luck for returns to school velvet and mouse. When we get home on Monday the reality of dd starting the week after will hit me, eeek, I am not ready at all for my baby to go to school

Waves to digital tomboy mummya izzy and anyone I've missed

In my news I'm still waiting for af to p**s off, it seems longer every month! Ff was trying to tell me I was fertile this morning...hmmm...I don't think so!

DiffedAgainDachs · 03/09/2011 12:30

yrmotb Enjoy the meet up! :)

aandr Completely mentalling this weekend as have first scan on Monday and am completely knackered, but fine apart from that! Although I nearly murdered DH earlier because we need a new hoover and we ordered one for him to pick up from a store and he said 'this can be an early Christmas present'. I then slapped him a few times until he retracted it and apologised, but still GRRRRRRR........ Glad you have found the name of a good specialist and FX it works out for you soon. :)

edward Good luck with the OPK! And happy shagging Wink

velvet I hope the NCT classes go well tomorrow and that you meet some nice people! :)

Youremindmeofthebabe · 03/09/2011 10:58

Hey folks! Just a quickie on the way to meet collie blackkat and Minnie! Exciting! Scan went well, all good an well behaved baby this time, which is good.

Mouse and velvet it must be horrible going back after the summer holidays! I don't envy you both that part of teaching. Although the holidays themselves must be quite nice.

Hope hAppy husband got back ok, aandr.

Waves to everyone else, on the train, so best post before message gets lost in the intermittent signal! Have a good weekend everyone.

AandRMum · 03/09/2011 00:23

Thanks Digi - my industry is like most - extremely small and it would be career suicide to ever complain about what is practically endemic (I am considered abnormal for thinking there is anything sexist in the comments I get!)! My thyroid thing seems to be just a cyst (hopefully benign) as thyroid function comes up normal in tests - so hopefully there is no NK cell connection. Confused I went with a friend to Lister fertility clinic and ended up finding out the name of a good specialist at Kingston Hospital - so I am going to try and change doctors and see if they can do something for the next time. Good luck with your scan on Wednesday!

Mouse hope you horrid boss has had a personality change over the holidays. The new doctor sounds great - it scares me how reliant we are on getting the right doctor at the right time.

Good luck with the opking Edward I have never gone down that route as my ov heralds itself with a big brass band but I do wish sometimes that I did the temperature thing so I would have some clue as to what is happening during the 2ww.

Oh, if anyone is trying to avoid taking antibiotics during pregnancy - supposedly turmeric is a natural antiboitic. You can eat it fresh or fry some up with butter and add to warm milk!

How are you doing LadyM and Dachs?

Velvet hopefully work won't be too bad over the weekend.

Waiting for 'happy' husband to get home safely before I can sleep - thankfully even if he misses our stop he will only be a short walk away!

Waves to all

edwardcullensotherwoman · 02/09/2011 22:27

Gosh, the thread has moved on since I was last here! How is everyone?

Hope the scan went well yrmotb , and good news on bloods being done mouse Smile

I bought some OPKs today, I've decided I want to be as in control as possible now; pg in February was a bit of a surprise, so I felt a bit misplaced about it, then had the mc, whereas I was doing OPKs when i got pg with DS, and knew from the start because I'd known when the right time was, IYKWIM Confused

Anyway, I thought I had ov pains yesterday, but nothing showing on OPK today, so going to keep testing over the weekend and see what happens. The pains could have been my muscles protesting in shock from being used (it's been a while, IYKWIM Wink )

mousebacon · 02/09/2011 20:52

Oh my, CPD must be the same in every school across the country! That's exactly what I'll be doing on Monday. SNORE!

Pleased you survived the day - yay for NCT classes Smile

Velvetcu · 02/09/2011 19:34

thanks mouse - why are cpd days just a load of wasted time shite??? We got 1 hour of private planning time, the rest was sat in the hall listening to the usual SLT drivel and child protection stuff that is the same year on year!!

My NCT classes start on Sunday so looks like tomorrow will be planning day, yay I love teaching Hmm

helloooo everyone, have a good weekend :)
anyone heard from yrmotb?

mousebacon · 02/09/2011 08:40

Good luck today velvet Grin

MummyAbroad · 01/09/2011 18:07

mouse Yay! for bloods Grin looks like the universe it working with you for once to help you out. xxx

mousebacon · 01/09/2011 17:29

I'm back on Monday velvet but the kids aren't in till Wednesday. I'm dreading it. Don't know if my boss is going to continue to be psycho bitch or be normal again! In a way it's probably a good thing I'm not going back pg again!

In other news...I went to a hospital appointment today for a joint problem I have and the consultant (different to my usual one) was fab. She asked about joints etc and other things that could be linked and if I'd had any recent surgery etc so I told her about all the erpcs I'd had and she's testing me for the sticky blood thing as it could be linked! I can't believe the gynae people didn't run the bloods but my knee doctor will. I felt like crying with gratitude!

Phew! Feels good to get that off my chest!

Velvetcu · 01/09/2011 10:34

I've fallen off the thread so helloooo Smile

Will catch up properly when I'm not on my phone but hope everyone is feeling less sad/mental if that's possible.

mouse when are you back at work. I don't want to go back tomorrow!!

lady love the new name Smile

Im not sure how I feel about beetroot brownies! I want to try them but don't want to make a whole batch in case I hate them!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 01/09/2011 07:13

I'm back and trying to catch up!! Best of luck today - I'll be thinking of you xxx

Still keeping everything crossed for a smooth ride through those stressful early days for digi dachs and ladym - hope you're all managing to stay sane and that we have some more bfps to join you soon!

Am struggling to get back into work mode after nearly 3 weeks off but I guess I'd better get up and get dressed or it's just not going to happen Smile

digitalgirl · 31/08/2011 23:43

For yrmotb Hugh's beetroot brownies. I put more beetroot in and it takes another 3-4 mins longer.

AandR grrrrr on your behalf, shocking sexual discrimination. You could totally have that guy disciplined if you could be bothered. But you have enough on your plate with battling the nhs. Btw, another lady on one of my threads has thyroid probs and it seems to be connected to high nk cells - both auto-immune issues. Have you looked into it?

Tina a break from the pills and poasing sounds like a good idea. Another thing you could try is banning yourself from looking at your chart more than once a week - takes the stress out of temping if you're not scrutinising everyday. I did this when temping during my non ttc cycle and it helped me forget about it.

AandRMum · 31/08/2011 20:31

Hi All - ladymmm lovely new name - if I had bought the skirt I wanted to buy from Monsoon it would be a proper twirl - I have decided that a bfn this month = purchase of new clothing - the autumn colours almost make the shorter days worthwhile!!

This is a wholly me post - apologies in advance. Have had a run in with Kingston Hospital today - I am just so sick of having to fight on all sides - I am still waiting for final clearance on my thyroid - after botching the first effort, I was then unable to change the next appointment due to a board meeting to determine whether I was to have my contract extended. Now 8 months later radiology has lost my referral and I have start all over again as they consider I was a no show despite phoning them three times desperate to change the slot. I have also heard nothing from the rmc doctor about next steps and at work I am being given the cold shoulder by the client because I protested during a meeting when a male colleague said 'The girls have over complicated things - don't worry I will sort them out' to cover the fact that the client didn't understand net present value. Supposedly it is easier to have 'the girls' (the other girl being 50 years old) take the hit than try to explain the data and me protesting was disrespectful to the elderly male !?!..... Why am I wasting my intellect and passion to help some egotistical male move up some mythical ladder ... Is the world truly this banal - I just want to be at home with my beautiful dds who just say it as it is and love me just as I am. Why can't doing the most important role in the world pay the bills?!
