Damn, meant tomboy not Tina obviously! Blush. Sorry. Am crap x

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 10/09/2011 19:31

Just popping in to give aandr a gentle congratulatory squeeze

digitalgirl · 10/09/2011 18:14

Glad it was the result you were after tomboy - much better to get pg next month!

AandR pretty sure it's down to your gp's discretion. I told my gp that I'd been prescribed it by Mr S and he's offered to top up my prescriptions whenever I run out of anything - steroid, progesterone, metformin. But maybe that's because I had copies of letters outlining treatment. Has anyone medical ever suggested progesterone supplements to you? If so could you get a letter from them to show your gp?

ladym keeping busy is good. I actually can't believe how busy I've been, probably helped by the steroids which prevent me from falling asleep before midnight.

TomboyWife · 10/09/2011 13:27

Okay okay, I'll test. BFN. Which is good this month due to job changing. Also, if I'd got a positive I would've had to feel quite guilty about the amount of booze I drank at my leaving party last night.

AandRMum · 10/09/2011 11:36

Hi All, Thank you for your restraint! GP was unable to do anything with advice from consultant but she didn't think you can get progesterone on NHS unless doing IVF. She is going to check on Monday but I'm not holding out hope. Trying to decide if it is worth going private. Hopefully I will get and early scan and if it goes wrong this time I will try and get a plan in action for the next time.

Test Tomboy and join me (and LadyM) in the deep denial corner

LadyMaybe · 10/09/2011 11:25

Yeah, but some of us also went back to normal cycles and had no symptoms before a bfp test woman!

AandR I have everything crossed for you. If you can't persuade doc to give progesterone straight up then try bargaining for a blood test - if it's on the low side you can use it as ammunition, if it's ok then it might give reassurance. And if your nhs gp isn't helpful, perhaps consider axprivate consult ? pinkFF went to ARGC I think and they were very attentive and willing to monitor levels. Not cheap though.

Another day gone by here, not much to report. DH had to work most of the day so I packed a picnic and took DS to a park to give him some peace. We both had naps when we got home. Mine was longest Blush

TomboyWife · 10/09/2011 10:56

AandR Hooray! Such fab news! (Shushes self so as not to get too excited. Shh, self, shh!)

Anyway, quietly very Grin for you.

Welcome itsabear!

Nothing new from me. I'm on CD 32-ish of what's normally about a 26- or 27-day cycle. I haven't tested, but don't feel pg at all, and I seem to remember a lot of you had longer than normal cycles the first few times after mc? This is my first cycle post-WTF.

MissTinaTeaspoon · 10/09/2011 08:52

Hi collie! I'll join you on that soapbox, budge up for me Grin

If you don't mind me asking, what shape are your nipples? Blush If they are flat or inverted, shield help to draw them out to give the baby something to latch to, but if they're not then you probably wouldn't find them all that useful tbh. I wouldn't necessarily recommend them for sore nipples, unless they're really cracked, because whatever you get told bf hurts! At the start of every feed for the first few weeks your toes will curl, but if you avoid using any creams or shields the skin with toughen up and then it gets better, and it'll all be worth it (I hope I haven't put you off Grin)

Waves to everyone else, can't stay, the new ballet term starts in half an hour and I'm not even dressed!

CollieandPup · 10/09/2011 08:17

Morning mouse, how are you?

Thanks for replying! Do you know how they are supposed to help? When shields came up i said in the class that I thought they were supposed to help with the latch but she said not, made me look a bit silly and I had no retort as really hadn't read up. There are a lot of women in the class, like me, worried about not being able to bf and I think it's only fair they know their options and not just what our rightous nct class teacher thinks is acceptable! She wound me up on soooo many levels!!! I was thinking I'd buy one, just in case I needed it, as I'd want to try anything if I was struggling before restorting to formula. Then return it if i don't!

mousebacon · 10/09/2011 08:01

Morning collie !

When I had ds he really struggled to latch and a breast shield really helped until my milk came in a few days later. I was very lucky not to have any pain but they did help with latch.

I wouldn't use them if all goes well but they did help and it was a midwife in hospital that brought me one.

Xx

hoping it's a sticky one.

I'm usually about lurking, and am so Smile to see some of the recent bfp's! Just hoping this thread continues to be lucky and we see some more.... Eyes up Tina mouse and battery!

I was hoping I could ask a question? You were talking a while back about breatfeeding and someone suggested breast shields mightbe helpful if your struggling. I know they can help if your in pain, but for some reason I thought I remember someone saying they can help baby latch... But it was a while ago and brian has regular visits these days!!! NCT breast feeding counsellor says I'm wrong, but of course to her they are there devil!

batteryhen · 09/09/2011 18:06

AandR What lovley news for you! Keeping my fingers crossed for you xxxxx

I am here lurking around, not a lot to say really - have started my steroids, so am mainly just eating and being a bit manic. I am Dpo 8 but not hopeful due to my crap body being crap.
Hello to all though xx and I am especially excited for all our new BFPs, and hello to new people too. I shall post longer when I don't have the tea on! :)

mousebacon · 09/09/2011 16:49

Woohoo! Congrats aandr that's truely fab GrinGrin[Grin

Velvetcu · 09/09/2011 16:48

Sorry aandr but wooohoooooo GrinGrinGrin congrats

itsabear · 09/09/2011 16:33

Phew that's ok then! (excuse paranoia - I am new to posting on mn and don't know the etiquette so was worrying my posts had been too long!)

Away to the countryside for the weekend with a group of friends which should hopefully take my mind off everything. The mc seems to be finishing now too which I'm thankful for. Felt horrendous at the beginning of the week and had to sleep lots due to the pain which doesn't really help with trying to put on a happy everything's normal face for my DD.

(Congrats to AandR, allbeit quietly :))

Lovely weekend wishes to all xx

Freezingmyarseoff · 09/09/2011 16:15

Congrats AandR GrinGrin although very quietly! sshhhh Smile

Welcome bear, sorry I'm on my phone so can't scroll back but as others say sometimes the thread is quiet & sometimes not. I like that as no pressure to keep up!

mouse sorry to hear about the hypermobility although I admit I don't know much about it. Hope the blood tests provide some answers that you can act on. Luckily for me I'm not in any pain, the RA is definitely behaving itself this pregnancy although I'm still on various medication.

I just found out a very good friend is 10 weeks pregnant. I'm so pleased for her as she's also had two MC's close to mine so I felt a bit bad to have got so far this time. Anyway good news all round today.

Waves to all as ever x

MissTinaTeaspoon · 09/09/2011 16:03

Grin for AandR GrinGrinGrin. What cd are you?

Loup23 · 09/09/2011 15:35

now whooping AndR but lots of Grin Smile and crossing of limbs that all is well, great news, let us know how it goes - hope the GP gives you what u need x

digitalgirl · 09/09/2011 14:38

Oh wow AandR - I'm going to get excited for you anyway! Congratulations!! And as I said to LadyM denial is completely normal.

AandRMum · 09/09/2011 13:16

Hi All - now I will tell you something if you promise no whooping as I am in complete denial and certain it is actually a cp and my symptoms seem to desert me every time I think about them and I have no idea how I will get through this and the thought of going through another mc is almost too much to bear .... as you may have guessed I had a faint bfp this morning. Off to the GP to beg for progesterone. I feel leaky so I am not holding out much hope but as you can tell - all my calm has deserted me for the moment.

Loup23 · 09/09/2011 11:34

Lol AndR at breaking DH! I finally got my peak yesterday and today with a temp rise today so am 1dpo and entering the dreaded 2ww again.......

Hi and welcome to itsabear sorry for your losses, there is great support here from all the lovely ladies which I hope helps. Good luck to you.

Belated congratulations to ladymaybe really hoping you have an uneventful 9 months - great news. V envious of you watching the fireworks at the RWC!

Good luck for this month tina hope that every other day works, I have a feeling I depleted DH's stocks by acting like a rampant rabbit over the last few days Blush

22 weeks freezing over half way! Do you know if it's a boy or girl?

Waves to all others who are lurking and hoping you all have lovely weekends x

LadyMaybe · 09/09/2011 09:45

... By pressing post message too early.

Think the nurse will invite me for a scan next week, hcg continues to track well, but I'm really struggling with the idea of a scan. Seeing a hb at this stage will just raise hopes but for me it's what happens later that is important. Anyway, eyelids drooping. More tomorrow with a bit of luck.

LadyMaybe · 09/09/2011 09:41

Hello, I've just watched the opening of the rugby world cup - with views of the fireworks in the city below out our windows Grin

Ah well, welcome itsabear I'm on my phone so can't do a full response at the moment, but I'm sorry for your losses.

digi and dachs great news both of you, just got to keep going but you're off to good starts now.

I'm hanging in there, getting worse mentally I think as time goes on - think I might drop in on the freak-out thread even though I hate the idea bouncing on it and then having to leave again.

I'm doing as much as I can to distract myself,

MissTinaTeaspoon · 09/09/2011 09:15

Hi

Hello to bear, don't worry, it's sometimes a bit quiet on here. Sorry for your losses. It's great that you've got a sympathetic gp, the most I got off mine was an off the record promise of an early scan if I get pregnant again. I've tried the Pregnacare Conception vits, they've got d3 in but not omega 3. I've stopped them now though because they're quite expensive and didn't seem to work for me (I appear to have a fussy uterus - that study is very interesting though, I read it after my mc). I hope that your wtf cycle ends soon to get you back on track Smile

Any news from yrmotb or battery?

Great scan news digital Grin

Still waiting for ov here...still got ewcm though, although this month we're trialling every other day rather than every day (worked last time Smile!)

digitalgirl · 09/09/2011 09:15

itsabear Smile don't worry, you haven't killed the conversation! This thread isn't always as fast moving as it has been the last couple of days. Am on a shoot at the moment so just lurking between takes but will post properly! Smile
