aandr did you mean in the morning today, or in the morning tomorrow? If today, good luck - will cross my fingers just in case!

digi fantastic news!!! Grin

AandRMum · 22/09/2011 07:51

Digi brilliant news. So pleased.

Tina it is expensive but if this one doesn't work for me I will be taking it up as so many on here have had great experiences with acupuncture. I hope it does the trick.

Tomboy glad it is going well.

LOL at image of Battery determining which room in house to christen first.

Waves at velvet - anyone heard from Dachs?

Have my scan in the morning. I will be 6w so trying to ready myself for it being inconclusive and that I will have to go back next week as it is a bit early to get a heartbeat. Am bricking it especially as always everything in my life seems linked and I will find out next week whether my contract is being extended at work and about financing for the house ...

TomboyWife · 21/09/2011 19:34

Evening ladies!

digi congrats on another good scan and here's to 7.5 more months of complete non-events. Smile

Loup sorry you're feeling so down. Sad As other people have said, sometimes good things happen just when you've given up hope that they ever will.

Tina I'm not sure I'd call that BFN definitive just yet.

Sorry I've been a bit scarce the last few days. I've been busy starting my new job, and bricking it in anticipation of starting my new job. I'm not sure why I was so nervous, everything has been fine and there was no reason to think it wouldn't be.

MissTinaTeaspoon · 21/09/2011 19:14

digi you must be rich then! She didn't tell me the price until after I'd booked!Hmm

mousebacon · 21/09/2011 19:07

Hello ladies! I am still here just been so busy with work (and really have nothing of interest to say!)

Just popping by to say congrats to digi I'm so pleased for you Grin

I'm currently on cd30 with no temp rise but I'm hoping it should be tomorrow. I've had 3 days of positive opks ... I'm so sick of swi!

Will catch up properly when I'm not on my phone.

Xx

Oh Tina I never believe bfn's at 10dpo! Good news on booking the acupuncture, I've been having it regularly for over a year now.

MissTinaTeaspoon · 21/09/2011 13:39

Grin for digi Grin

I did a test this morning (10 dpo) and got a bfn Sad. I've emailed an acupuncture clinic that was recommended to me and I'm going there next Thursday. On the plus side, no spotting yet today...

digitalgirl · 21/09/2011 13:22

tina thanks for the heads up on that. I think I've already filled in that questionnaire. My care has actually been very good, I can't fault my local EPU...I just decided not go there this time because of the bad memories.

loup sorry to hear you're spotting again Sad

AandR how are you? Managing to distract yourself sufficiently?

batteryhen good luck with moving next week - you'll just have to make sure you christen the house as soon as you get the keys!

Just checking in to say my scan went well this morning. Am 10+3 and have been 'graduated' from St Marys. Am booking in with the local midwife tomorrow morning and have my official dating scan in 3 weeks. So far so good. Feel a bit stunned to be honest.

Velvetcu · 21/09/2011 10:41

Have fallen off the thread, just going to read back and catch up now

MissTinaTeaspoon · 20/09/2011 15:52

I don't know if any of you know but mn are campaigning to improve miscarriage care, there's a survey in sitestuff if anyone wants to do it? Sorry, I cant link from the app

AandRMum · 20/09/2011 13:22

Loup that just sucks Sad I have noted that at the point of deepest despair there have been a number of bfps so I am holding out hope for next month and a juicy bfp.

MissTinaTeaspoon · 20/09/2011 10:57

Sorry to hear that loup Sad

I'm back from the gp and not really any the wiser. She had a good rummage about and said that the blood is coming from my uterus, although there is a definite cervical erosion there. She's putting it down to hormones but has sent swabs to rule out an infection. The only cure if it continues is the pill which is obviously not an option.

batteryhen · 19/09/2011 22:28

evening ladies.

bear - I had a medical management with my first MMC. Although it was not succesful (velcro womb) -I did bleed for ages after, but once the bleeding stopped I went back to normal AF quite quickly. I have now had 2 ERPC's and I would not have another if I could avoid it. Even though I hated the medical management - my body still recovered quicker. Boo for still showing positive, the frustration is a killer.
lady - Yes I am under MR S. I start the steroids around OV then stop if not pregnant. I have only had one cycle so not too bad yet. You are right - I was so relieved when AF turned up. Ashermans at this stage of the game would have been crap. I am hopeful for my next cycle now!
izzy I really do rate acupunture. My lady is so good and knowledegeable, - that alone relaxes me!
AandR - How are you? - I am hopeful that I have beaten my body into submission and will get a lovely sticky BFP soon! x

Well my news is that we should be moving house next week. On my ovulation day. Great timing! However - stranger things have happened so we shall see! This house move is taking ages, but I firmly believe that our new house is the one we shall start our little family in :)

Loup23 · 19/09/2011 22:20

Spotting started so I'm out again Sad sorry for me post but starting to think I might never have children.... We swi over all the days am just Confused as to why it won't happen.., will amend stats and start month 10 of ttc Angry

Waves to all and leaves bedtime hot choc and marshmallows by way of apology !

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 19/09/2011 21:55

aandr those symptoms sound good to me! Are you still on the progesterone? How're you feeling?

ladymb you sound very together...I'm hoping you're doing ok

battery yay for af - I'm a huge believer in acupuncture but that's a really good result; guess you're pretty relieved?

Tina the spotting sounds crap, hope you manage to get some decent advice

Good luck to anyone swi-ing and on the 2ww - sorry for not name-checking more, am on phone and can't scroll back to re-read posts Angry

AandRMum · 19/09/2011 21:41

LadyM I almost envy you your symptoms - I have vaguely sore boobs, slightly red cheeks and am very leaky - I fear this isn't enough to convince me that this one is sticking around! I have everything crossed for you. When is your next scan? Hope you feel a bit better soonish. My friend had a beautiful boy all safe and sound.

Battery what a long haul - acupuncture seems to work wonders. Hopefully, your body has been pinned into submission and is going to cooperate fully from this point forward.

caribou lovely to hear from you. I love success stories - it can all seem so impossible in the midst of it all but most of the posse from when I started on here a year ago are either safely up duffed or with smalls ... I need to remember that ....

Anyone seen dachs knitter or jollster about?

Waves to all

edwardcullensotherwoman · 19/09/2011 01:02

Hi ladies! Sorry I've been away for so long - the past 2 weeks has gone so quick! (well, now I look back it has, but didn't at the time, IYSWIM).

I'll pop back in again tomorrow to catch up individually, but hope everyone's doing ok.

Lady, should we add additional info to the stats thread, here or by PM to you? (Never been on a stats thread before!)

LadyMaybe · 18/09/2011 23:46

Caribou! how lovely to see you again, and thank you Blush I'm too scared to poke my nose on the grads thread to say anything just yet, but I'm terribly aware that lots of me ol'muckers are about to or have already popped. And your little boy at 16 weeks already Shock how scrumptious Grin. How has it been with your daughter? Is she fine with it all or has there been an element of rivalry? I guess DS isn't really up to interrupting her games etc so maybe not much of issue so far?
yes, 'shitting it' is exactly what I'm doing. Although, to be honest, mostly I'm just pissed off with the early pregnancy crapness of generalised nausea, occasional sickness, tiredness and food aversions that have come along right on schedule. I keep thinking, 'oh god, if I'm going to lose this one too, couldn't it happen BEFORE I have to spend several weeks being miserable'. Hey ho. I think if it doesn't work out this time that might be me done trying for no.2. I was in an ok place before the BFP in terms of accepting us as a one-child family and me as a mother-of-one.

MissTina sorry about all the spotting, no wonder you're feeling tired, I'd press for a referral on Tuesday, be brave squashes tiny bit of optimistic thought back into box and just shuts up

AandR did your friend have her CS baby ok? I've suddenly realised that my two friends who are pg are due in a couple of months which seems to have come up quite quickly. I'd better get my knitting sticks going a bit quicker - had plans to give them lovely handmade presents. How are you doing? Hanging in there? Scan is just a few days away now.

digi!!!!! you're at 10 weeks!!! bloody hell lady. That's quite good going. You're being scanned again this week aren't you?

Velvetcu I googled PGP and you have my utmost sympathy - that must be so difficult as a teacher too, such an unforgiving profession! Are you close to any flotation tanks? I forget where you live but there's one by London bridge that I went to in my first pg and it's absolutely marvellous. Warm, floating, weightlessness, not claustrobic - I really recommend it and hopefully it would help with some pain.

batteryhen I'm soooo pleased that AF finally turned up. It would have been too too much to have to go through a whole Asherman's thing as well after what you've been though, you must have been very scared and I'm pleased that this, at least, has been a positive story for you. So...you're with Mr S now aren't you? Did I remember that right? Are you going onto steroids?

Itsabear Well Done You! on getting your GP to run some tests, that it brilliant work. I've had some success with putting sensible research papers in front of my consultant's nose when they wanted to poo poo my risk factors. I do think that much of the time it's not lack of care or interest, but lack of time to read/research for many GPs (and sadly, specialists too now). So great.this link is quite a good summary of the tests etc. Do try to make sure you get print outs of the results. Sorry you're still showing positive though. That's hard. The last traces of HCG can take quite a while to disappear. I think the half-life is about 2-4 days (that's the amount of time it takes for the level to decrease by half), but obviously that means a rapid drop when the levels are high to slowing drop when they're lower.

LadyMaybe · 18/09/2011 22:43

Evening ladies!
Ok first things...I've had a go at doing a stats list. My stalking might not be terribly accurate though so please do go and have look at your info and add/edit/delete anything. If you don't want to be on the list just take yourself off or tell me and I'll do it - I know part of the 6th form spirit is sometimes wanting to forget all about lists etc, so there's no pressure, it's just helpful to people joining etc to find out where people are.
Also feel free to add in more history, I didn't do any much, as I didn't want to get it wrong and upset people.

Stats thread here

itsabear · 18/09/2011 21:53

caribou that's a lovely happy ending. Thanks for sharing it. I feel like it could be third time lucky for me....at least I hope it will! I've never heard of Agnus Castus before but will ask my GP about it tomorrow. Enjoy your little one.

MissT You could well be iron-deficient if you've bled for that long?

I 'optimistically' did a pregnancy test this morning hoping for a BFN to show the mc is over. Still positive. Ugh.

MissTinaTeaspoon · 18/09/2011 19:47

Hi...I am beyond tired. Can't keep my eyes open tired. I'm wondering if there's any connection with the fact that I've just calculated that I've been spotting or bleeding for 16 days out of 22 Sad. I am trying to console myself with the fact that my cervical erosion has only flared up twice - between 5 and 12 weeks preg with dd, and after my mc. And as I havent had a mc in the last few months I'm allowing myself a little glimmer of hope...although surely it's started a bit early if so? Hmm

Glad your gp is sympathetic bear

Great to hear a happy ending caribou Grin

Waves to loup x

CaribouMoo · 18/09/2011 11:26

Loup i don't know your back history but it is supposed to help women with histories of recurrent MC. I started taking AC to regulate my cycles after the first ERPC since they were a mess. I stopped taking it when I found out I was pregnant again but sadly lost that baby too. When I got pregnant for the third time I decided to follow the advice of taking AC until 12 weeks because I felt as though I had nothing to lose and had to try something different. The friend who recommended it on the advice from her consultant had 3 MMCs then got pregnant with twin girls who arrived safely - she also took AC until 12 weeks. I'll never know whether it made a difference or whether DS was just meant to be and the other 2 wee beans were not.

I know its contraversial though and its really your decision whether to take it again. Is there anyone qualified you could get advice from - herbalist, etc? Good luck on your 2WW!

Loup23 · 17/09/2011 22:19

Ah lovely story caribou congrats on your DS (and dd!) interesting re agnus, I stopped it after o day and am on 2ww, maybe I should start it up Confused

CaribouMoo · 17/09/2011 12:31

Hello all, one of my rare lurking by days and just had to say a big congrats to LadyB - that's just the best news!! I know you'll be shitting it now but the avoidance technique is definitely the best so do your best to pretend its not happening. I'll need to keep lurking by to follow what happens, got everything crossed for you pal and hope life is well back in NZ.

Hope everyone else is good, AandR big congrats to you too and well done on securing the progesterone. I couldn't convince anyone to give me some so self-medicated with cream off the internets. Best of luck to you too!

Before I go, Itsabear your story is similar to mine - except I had ERPCs both times. Had DD in 07, textbook pregnancy no problems. First MMC discovered at 12 week scan in Dec 09 but bean had stopped growing at 7 weeks. It took 6 months to get pregnant again, I had a scan at 6 weeks at the EPU where HB found but bean small for dates. I booked a private scan the following week as I was being driven mad with worry and again a MMC confirmed, followed by a second ERPC. The NHS took pity on me and referred me to the recurrent MC clinic even though I hadn't had the required 3 subsequent losses, however, I got pregnant 3 weeks after the ERPC so they refused to test me. They wouldn't give me anything either so I used the progesterone cream, took extra vit B complex, vit C and zinc on top of pregnacare vits and continued to take Agnus Castus until I was 12 weeks (on advice from a friend who's consultant in Oz referred to a study in Finland where AC helped women with multiple MCs). Anyhow, no idea if any of these things actually worked but DS is now here safe and well and 16 weeks old today. I guess what I'm trying to say is keep hopeful. I know after my 2 losses I was convinced something must be wrong but I got there in the end. Hope you get there too, and everyone else on the thread that is TTC x

itsabear · 16/09/2011 17:39

Fantastic scan news LadyM and Digi. 13 weeks is a long time to wait, Battery, you must be massively relieved it's here. I am now 16 days post-medical management and hope to get my AF in next couple of weeks. Last time it took 5 weeks. Have decided not to TTC until after I get it for my own peace of mind.

yrmotb - 24 weeks must feel wonderful.

AandR I'm afraid I know nothing of the ways of CM apart from what I've just read in 'Taking charge of your fertility' but I totally get your stressing out over it. I can imagine being a nervous wreck at the slightest anything at all next time I'm pregnant. I'm sure it's fine and normal but obv good to get it all checked.

Tina Hope you can also put your mind at rest next week.

LadyM Are you in New Zealand? I was in Wellington when I found out I was pregnant with DD. Wondering if DH and I need to be in the southern hemisphere for things to work out....(packs up bags, quits job, sells house, buys plane ticket)

It's good to know the whole crying at minor mishaps thing is normal. I might make a list of strange things I've cried at this week - would include H&M obviously, plus today on the phone to DD's nursery while trying to sort out our invoice which they keeping messing up.

I think I already mentioned that I sent a letter ream of stuff found on Dr Google to my lovely GP last week. She has been trying to ring me all week and I finally spoke to her today. She thinks the whole un-fussy uterus thing is very interesting but probably not particularly helpful in my case as there's no solution right now. However, perhaps due to my perseverance total pain in the arse-ness she is referring me for all the blood tests that they do for recurrent miscarriage (not entirely sure what these are - Lupus? blood clotting?) plus all my vitamin levels etc as I'd mentioned Omega 3 and Vit D. I can make an appointment and have them all done at the surgery so without going to hospital. I feel reassured that she's taking it seriously but I have no doubt it's more for my mental state than for any other reason. Anyway, it shows that persistence and advanced google skills can open doors!

I've been off work since I found out about the mc and I'm going to go back in next week. Feeling quite nervous.

Forgot to say - weekend away was lovely. Very relaxing and DD had a wonderful time.
