Hi everyone, just checking in - I'm reading but just struggling a bit at the moment with ongoing nausea, worry, tiredness etc feeling very blah. Just wanted to let you know I am thinking of you all even when I've disappeared a bit. Just trying to get though these next 2 weeks really.

SmileyGirl1 · 10/10/2011 09:18

Twitwoo hope the symptoms continue nicely for you!

Tomboy I did the same (ashamed!) tested yesterday evening on only day 10 dpo.. silly silly i know i know but i just couldn't help it. No surprise it was a big fat BFN.

I'm smothered in a cold, sore throat now too which will no doubt delay AF if that's what due to come this week and inadvertently raise my hopes. I do feel a bit nauseous but i think it's just the general cold etc. I hate getting DH's hopes up too i keep saying i'm def not pg when secretly hoping i am, so so much.

Freezing hope you are feeling better

Twittwooo · 10/10/2011 08:16

Smiley and Tomboy - it's so hard to wait to POAS, isn't it? Fingers crossed for a BFP when the time is right!

Mouse - I would wait before telling your boss, although from what you say I suspect she's not the nicest person so perhaps there's more to it. I plan to wait as long as I can, but I think I'll have to give in just before the Christmas night out so people don't guess when I'm not drinking! I'm on a temporary contract, so I don't want to put myself in a vulnerable position, but from what I can tell the law is pretty clear on these things.

It is reassuring to have morning sickness, isn't it? I've been nauseous for three days now so hopefully it's a good sign.

Freezing - hope you feel better soon.

Waves to everyone else. xx

Freezingmyarseoff · 09/10/2011 19:56

good plan on the scan at half term Mouse. DD was fine, don't know what that was. Something about being overtired I think.

Digital mmm, chutney sounds good. You domestic goddess you. I always thought is a bit weird to make chutney but this year I find myself seriously considering, so I think I have finally seen the light. You're definitely not weird btw

Thwack for you Tomboy testing early and in the evening Hmm

hoping AandR is okay, but understand if she can't face posting. sometimes a break is a good thing.

Not much to report from here other than I am completely shattered. Doc put me on some antibiotics as I have a bit of chest infection and don't want to avoid ending in hospital like last time so I'm off to bed I think.

Waves to you all
x

SmileyGirl1 · 09/10/2011 15:53

Mouse huge congratulations!! Sorry only congratulating now, been reading on my phone but wasn't able to update while away in scotland

Knitter huge congratulations to you too!! GOsh I really hope all this good news keeps spreading to us all!

Welcome Bigmac!!

Twitwoo great you feel unwell (if you know what i mean!) - it's hard but def def reassuring isn't it?

We were away for a week and had a supe lovely time but I felt just awful on the way home today, obviously my mind has started to work at 100 miles an hour, could i possibly be pg.. such a tiny tiny chance given we only bd once when i got the pos opk as i was then away on a 2 day pre-arranged break with my family who live far away so like i don't see how we would be lucky enough. Based on MC, i'd be due to get TOM today/tomorrow but given I ovulated so late I had thought that would be Thursday. What with being away I haven't thought about POAS but i'm sooo tempted now even though like i know i'm just probably kidding myself.

Anyhow hope you ladies are all super super well Smile

digitalgirl · 09/10/2011 14:26

tomboy early testing in the evening? that deserves a wet fish!

mouse scan in half term sounds like a sensible plan. And pleased to hear boss-bitch had toned down. Also glad to hear both you and twittwoo are feeling more positive about your symptoms.

I have a ginormous bump (for 13 weeks today) and am not planning on 'outing' myself at work till the screening tests come back ok - boss knows, but also knows I'm not ready to say anything yet. Just can't face the congratulations from people. Still not told my dad, think he's twigged and is prob upset that I haven't shared.

In other news - I am making beetroot chutney and it smells delicious!

TomboyWife · 09/10/2011 12:06

Oops, that's "possibly".

TomboyWife · 09/10/2011 12:06

Well, I knew it was too early, but I gave in and wasted a pg test last night. BFN, possible 'cause it's too early. [kippers self]

mousebacon · 08/10/2011 20:48

No specific things other than working with a load of snotty, grotty children!

Think I'll try and have a scan at half term (I'll be 7 weeks by then) and take it from then.

Hope all was well with DD freezing xx

Hey
Wow you're very chatty at the moment!

Tina love the name! and yay for the ewcm. I didn't put my name for being contacted on the MC questionnaire. Well done for doing that.

Mouse I would keep quiet until the scan tbh. You really don't need extra stress. Can you do your own risk assessment mentally? Is there anything you need to avoid now. If so perhaps I would get tell her but if it's a case of just being sensible yourself then I would keep quiet. I'm thinking, say a chemistry teacher, might need to avoid certain chemicals.

waves to Bigmac

How are you lily?

Sorry this meant to be a longer post but DD just woken (v unusual) up so must dash
Waves to everyone x

Velvetcu · 08/10/2011 20:41

I kept quiet mouse - couldn't be bothered to deal with the hassle if it was all going to go wrong anyway!

Yup yrmotb I'm all done with work, only 2 weeks til due date so I can barely waddle round my house let alone a classroom full of teenagers! I had never considered the fact that a full term baby bump is actually heavy and pretty much unsupported so makes you ache a lot! When are you going on mat leave?

mousebacon · 08/10/2011 19:24

Hi all,

Hope you got home without getting too wet YRMOTB Smile

I still have the one, solitary test I did for DS (oh, such a simple time when one was all I needed!)

Scary psycho boss has actually been quite normal since the start of term. I was observed by a literacy consultant the other day and that went really well too. The only thing is, I'm too scared to tell her about this pregnancy incase she turns psycho again - I'm already aware of her victimising and bullying another member of staff this year and we've only been back 5 weeks.... What would you do in my position? Tell and get the risk assess in place or hold off and enjoy the peace until you've had a scan?

Twittwooo My symptoms tend to get worse around the 7-8 week mark but I'm also feeling more positive about this pg as the last 2, I had no symptoms until about 8 weeks but with this one and my DS the symptoms (nausea, weeing, bloating etc) started before the test.

Velvet it's time to start ignoring the emails! Hope you get some peace soon.

xxx

Twittwooo · 08/10/2011 18:00

Hi everyone, I don't think it's unusual to keep tests. I have done two this pregnancy and still have them, but don't have any from previous attempts.

Today I am 6 weeks and have been feeling nauseous with a headache all day. I'm so happy, because I didn't feel like this at all with the last two so I'm hoping it's a good sign. No sickness yet, but definite nausea. If it gets worse, I'm not sure how I'll cover up at work but I'm sure I'll find a way. It sounds like there are at least a couple of teachers on this thread from some of the things I've read?

Hope you're all having a relaxing weekend. I'm having a plain lazy one so far! x

Youremindmeofthebabe · 08/10/2011 15:28

izz is it only 7.5 weeks? God, that seems to have come round quick.

tina loving the new name! I will change mine too soon, they are all variations on the same theme, bat, bunny, babe... Good luck for Ov time- this must be your month, a non drinking christmas must surely beckon.

aandr hope you're ok there.

digi How's it going? And lady. Hope you are both as relaxed and chilled as you can get.

mouse has evil boss been any better this term, or still cowbag?

velvet are you all done and dusted now? I'm so jealous, my work is becoming a lickle crazy.

Waves to all, Off to get wet going home now.

TinaOnHerBroomstick · 08/10/2011 09:44

velvet and mouse I've still got the tests I took when pregnant with dd Blush

Velvetcu · 08/10/2011 09:00

I've got 4 tests too mouse and was actually looking at them just yesterday - is it weird to keep them?? I wish the digis kept some sort of display though. How is school at the moment? I'm still getting emailed about the behaviour of my classes even though I've been off for 4 weeks now!

Hope everyone is good

mousebacon · 08/10/2011 08:38

I've got my 2 'would-be-negative-to-a-lay-person' internet cheapies, a FR and my over-estimating cb digi which is now blank. Not bad really! I reasoned with myself that continuing to poas would just lead to worry if they didn't behave the way I wanted them to!

I remember that full feeling with DS. I think I got it at about 35 weeks and then I swelled up to EPIC proportions and went to 41 weeks Grin I didn't get any stretch marks though so clearly miracles do happen!

I have a weekend of 4th/5th birthday parties ahead of me this weekend. I hope my resolve not to tell lasts with my mummy friends. Unfortunately 'are you pg yet?' is usually their first question!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend xx

CollieandPup · 07/10/2011 23:05

I think it helps to have one person know at work. I took me a long time to tell anyone but when I did it was a huge relief having someone know. It's good she understands too. Glad the mentalling is tame! Do you have a secret stash off sticks you've peed on??? Smile

I'm ok thanks. Soooo tired. And uncomfortable! I feel like my belly might actually explode!!! Seriously, I don't know how this baby can get any bigger.... there is just no room!!!

mousebacon · 07/10/2011 22:09

Hi Collie, mentalling still tame at the mo. I told one of the TAs today (dh doesn't know that!) She was one of the most supportive people when it was all really bad and totally understands what I've/we've been through.

Other than that, trying to keep everything low key & haven't told another soul.

How's you?

OP posts:
CollieandPup · 07/10/2011 21:28

Knitter it's so lovely to hear your lovely news congratulations!!! I joined the ttc after mc jpnot longer before you last bfp, and new you'd had a hard run before, npbut didn't know the detail. You've clearly been through so much, you really deserve this to work out!

bear so sorry about AF Sad

mouse how ipare you doing containing the metalling? And how is the boss from hell?

lily, my lovely, hecare you? are you still waiting for your results?

izzy I feel like I can coo to my hearts content at other people's babies, but somehow that I'm actually having obe still doesn't feel real-despite all the preparation! I think the bonding will come though, when he's born. I've never really understood how you bond with something you can't really see / don't know anyway...let alone comprehend. You'll be fine.

Tina love the new name!! Smile and YAY for ewcm! let's hope your right and your body is getting settled and this is your lucky month!!!

Loup what's your cm and cervix like?

Thinking of a&r xxxx

TinaOnHerBroomstick · 07/10/2011 20:33

tomboy well done for being sensible! We want a transporter, we've got about £8000 to spend once we sell my car and it needs to fit on the drive so it won't be anything fancy! I'd love an old vw but I'd worry about reliability and nice ones cost more than we can afford. The place we went to this afternoon had sold most of their stock in the last few weeks, and what they did have was too expensive.

Good luck with your scan digital

TomboyWife · 07/10/2011 20:20

Evening ladies!

Tina love the new name. What manner of campervan are you looking for? We've just shelled out another £400 on ours, to clean up a bunch of rotting bits of the steering and suspension. We got ours for a song, but we're paying the difference bit by bit in repair bills. (Ours had been sitting for at least a couple of years before it came to us, so this is no real surprise.)

itsabear sorry for painful AF and frustrating lingering of positive tests. As others have said, at least your WTF cycle is out of the way now. Hopefully your bits are on their way back to normality now.

AandR thinking of you, hoping you're okay out there.

I'm on CD23 or so, I'm still feeling sick and over-emotional by spells, but I don't have any of the real giveaway pg symptoms (boobs not sore at all, for example), so I don't know what to think. I almost POASed tonight just for a lark, but Sensible Me won out and I didn't waste the test.

mousebacon · 07/10/2011 19:14

Lurking for aandr. Hope you're ok lovey x

OP posts:
digitalgirl · 07/10/2011 19:13

itsabear sorry af is so painful...but, it's here. It's a fresh start. It's the end of the WTF cycle and hopefully no more positive tests until you are properly pregnant. The extra cramping is probably your body being extra ruthless at cleaning you out. Paracetemol and ibuprofen (and wine and chocolate...) should help. Hope this new cycle brings better luck with it.

bigmac hello, I remember you from the freakout thread during my last short-lived pg. Lovely to hear you're doing well.

loup is your temp well into your pre-ov range or in the grey area in between where it could potentially come back down? I think it's too early to call and if you got a peak today then give it a go until you get three high temps in a row. But if this is something that happens often then I'm afraid you may have to start swi earlier in your cycle (maybe alternate days till you get your first peak?)

tinabroomstick love the Halloween name! And how exciting that MNHQ contacted you. I think you're doing a wonderful thing - people just don't talk enough about miscarriage and we really need to break this taboo. I would have put my name down too, is it too late?

I'm feeling a little more tired now (had a 2 hr kip this afternoon) which I think is due to lowering the steroid dose. Was worried this would happen but I guess I'm just feeling genuine pregnancy symptoms as opposed to masking them - which I shouldn't complain about. Dating scan on Tuesday. Just need to get through this weekend.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 07/10/2011 18:47

lovely to see you here!

bear I feel like that about scans, when I was pg with ds and dd I used to really look fwd to them as some kind of treat, this time round I find them really stressful and don't enjoy them at all, don't even look at the screen until someone tells me it's ok. I would love to get that pre-mc naïveté back... Sad

aandr are you there? How are you doing?

Went to help out on my dsis's baby massage instructors course yesterday and felt quite freaked out at the new mums with small babies. I still don't think I've got my head around the fact that I might actually end up with a real baby in 7 and a bit weeks, it doesn't seem real, and actually I found it quite hard to look at those tiny babies. That's ridiculous isn't it? Just hoping it all sinks in soon and I don't have problems bonding etc due to inability to accept reality of pg ending up with baby

Hope you're all doing ok, especially those being visited by af (boo!), maniacally shagging or on the 2ww
