Ladies, here we are.
Let's crack on.

Afternoon Glowing Ladies!

It's been said before, but really this is one fast thread! I had friends over for dinner last night and nipped into school today to be with the kids when they got their GCSE results (they were good thank goodness) and it already feels like I've missed a lot.

Preseed arrived this morning so I'm looking forward to trying that out!

Generic I have already begun my marathon SWI session which will continue for the next 10 days. I feel tired just thinking about it .

Solars and Cakes my SIL is ttc as of this month and I feel awful for wanting it to be me that gets a BFP first because I've been trying longer. I will be so happy for her of course, but it would make me sad too in a very, very selfish way. TTC doesn't always bring out the best in me.

Thank goodness I'm already pregnant :)

Sn0wGoose · 25/08/2011 14:48

Absolutely, CakePidgeon, you'll be able to do your own gushing in no time :o

Yes, the "weren't even trying" brigade grate a bit, don't they? :(

CakePigeon · 25/08/2011 14:46

Thanks solars

It's as if these people haven't had to go through ttc - do not get me started on people who 'weren't even trying' Envy

Solars · 25/08/2011 14:21

Oh Cake I know how you feel, last week when I was out to dinner with my newly pregnant cousin she was gushing on and although it didn't effect me so badly, as I know she can be a little insensitive & naive anyway, but really felt for another cousins wife who was also there and it is common knowledge that she's been ttcing for a few years now, poor thing was so silent all through dinner and we were all trying to change the topic but pg cousin kept gushing on and on....good for you for being so strong.

CakePigeon · 25/08/2011 14:18

Thanks everyone, it really makes it so much better to know there are other people feeling the same way. She just has no idea we are ttc and so doesn't realise she's being insensitive to my thus far inability to conceive so I don't really blame her, I think I would have been similar but now I know how it feels hopefully I'll be able to keep my mouth shut a bit! plus I'm pregnant too now, right ?! Grin

maybebabyR · 25/08/2011 14:03

I know what you mean Sn0w and Farfalla I also don't think it helps that we can detect a pregnant lady a mile off Smile

Looking forward to hearing of your confirmation Generic

Sn0wGoose · 25/08/2011 14:01

Ok ok, I probably will be just as bad, but........!

Sn0wGoose · 25/08/2011 13:55

CakePidgeon it's awful isn't it?

SIL has just popped one out and - while I'm very happy for her - I'm sick of having it shoved in my face every 5 minutes, every FB update being about poop/barf/hiccups/general motherly gushing, endless texts about how her life is now complete/she thinks everyone should have kids/she can't wait until I can experience it/etc etc. It makes me :( (and Envy and just a little bit wtf?)

(I hereby make a vow to never become a gushing I-have-no-life-outside-of-children mother, and not to rub everyone's nose in it at every opportunity)

GenericDietCola · 25/08/2011 13:54

Not had much time for MN the last couple of days, but I'm still here Brooking No Argument. It's the exciting time in the cycle for me ie the SWI so I shall be confirming in a couple of weeks.

Not got time to say hello to everyone, sorry, but glad your line was darker Scream. Scarlet hope you feel more positive now - I'm sure you and miniscarlet will be fine. Dream glad your sickness isn't too awful. Imps and Maybe you both sound very pregnant to me.

Hi everyone else - will try to write more tonight if not shagging

Imps7 · 25/08/2011 13:37

Cake, that's the spirit my love - brooking no argument in the face of adversity is the way forward! I can't bear it when people act as though they are the first ever pregnant person in the world.

Simon Pegg, eh? Nope, just can't see it myself. Daniel Craig on the other hand...

Oooh, I could murder a scotch egg.

maybebabyR · 25/08/2011 13:16

Ah Cake you poor thing. Well done on the no brooking attitude though. Just think, that will be you very soon.

Poor DH Solars there may still be a chance for a May baby. Remember, see that rat, smack it.

Vivid dreams Ninja a definite symptom in my book Smile

farfallarocks · 25/08/2011 13:14

Oh cake its so grim isn't it?
This morning there were 5 (yes 5) pregnant women in my tube carriage, one was patting her bump all the way and I actually just thought, God you look smug. Awful isn't it?
WHEN I get preggers I am so keeping it on the low down and I now realise how insensitive bleating on about every last detail is to those TTC or that have had a MC

CakePigeon · 25/08/2011 12:59

Looking forward to your confirmation maybe
hope your DH feels better soon solars here's hoping for a BFP anyway!

I feel doubly reliant upon chocolate today as my pregnant colleague is merrily playing her baby's heartbeat to anyone who walks in the door. I'm feeling Sad about it but valiantly surviving without tears, just chocolate and a no brooking attitude instead

NinjaChipmunk · 25/08/2011 12:08

dream have you tried a ring sling? You were musing about giving up your back pack sling the other day?
And solars I don't particularly understand the simon pegg thing but hey ho, clearly my subconcious thought i should be married to him. I do like his films and Spaced but certainly hadn't been watching them all that recently.

Solars · 25/08/2011 12:02

Ninja really Simon Pegg??? Be careful with those heavy lifts in your condition.

DH was hot & sweaty all night but not in the way I wanted him to be :), he woke up this morning feeling worse and nauseous too (is that a sympathy symptom by the way?!). I'm brooking no argument for a June baby now (although secretly still hoping for an ironic BFP considering we have only done it once so far this month!). This thread has kept me positive so thank you girls!

Maybe looking forward to hearing of your imminent confirmation! Who is else is confirming?

Meconium & Scream congrats once again on your BFPs and the lines becoming ever stronger & how exciting Dream to be sharing the news in RL. Scarlet stay positive and hope you get your 8 week scan to put you at ease.

maybebabyR · 25/08/2011 11:59

Thanks for the advice Scream and Dream. Think I am only 8DPO, but could be more, could be less. Am going to hold out till September before any testing me thinks.

19lb is definitely heavy lifting Dream My niece is only 9 weeks old and is already nearly 13lbs. To think that people give birth to 12lb-ers terrifies me Grin

dreamfeeder · 25/08/2011 11:52

hooray for sun here!!!! Have had our fair share of rain though. Garden somewhat tamed. Dh mowing lawn, was going to say DD asleep but just heard her wake up.

scream, marvellous pee stick news.

maybe, i only tested a week ago and I'm already 6 weeks tmw so I'm in the hold out for testing camp although i'm dying to hear about your BFP. I just took my folic acid, thanks Grin

ninja, good work with the heavy lifting. an ironic BFP for you.

I wonder if lugging DD everywhere can be counted as heavy lifting? she's 19lb!!!! And sadly, I do have to lug her everywhere. Though she's getting cocky these last few days and keeps letting go of my finger and toddling off. However, she seems to have forgotten the fall-over-like-a-plank issue, so tis no relief for me. If you don't want to fall over, don't let go!! And if you do, do not make your whole body rigid for maximum head impact (if mummy isn't there to catch you) child, it doesn't stop you falling over! or learn to crawl. Ha, fat chance of that...

Right off to get that baby. ANd yes, where is baby?

And are have and little still lurking until they are ready to rejoin the ranks?

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 25/08/2011 11:47

Simon Pegg Ninja? That's an awesome dream!! Not cute exactly, but endless entertainment!

Maybe my BFP arrived at 11 DPO. I'm guessing you're further than that by now? For me it was 2 or 3 nerve-wracking days before the line was clear enough for me to trust it, so I can totally understand why some people choose to wait until later!! On the other hand, even when my line was at its faintest a CBD still confirmed the news! Definitely wait until the time is right for you (even though it is BLINDINGLY OBVIOUS! Wink )

maybebabyR · 25/08/2011 11:41

Hurrah for your stronger line Scream how many DPO were you when you got your first BFP?

I'm too chicken to test, I hate seeing negatives, so am going to wait it out Hmm

Ninja heavy lifting? Too ironic for you not to be preggers.

Sorry you got soaked Cake you deserve chocolate for that alone!

NinjaChipmunk · 25/08/2011 11:41

speaking of dreams, I had yet another wierd dream last night where I married Simon Pegg. WTF?

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 25/08/2011 11:38

It's getting exciting in here! There are so many symptoms filling up the room they're leaking under the doors!

Maybe could you be more preggers!?! Honestly, at this point I'm expecting you to say you've felt minimaybe kick! When are you confirming again? (Apologies for the babybrain, I know you've told us before but I couldn't find it scrolling through).

Ninja I know your ironic BFP is also just around the corner, those pee sticks won't know what's hit them!

Imps I think you're also testing soon? I have it on good authority that prophetic dreams are a definitive pg symptom! You are clearly upduffed!!

Fingers crossed that Solars' OH woke up feeling frisky better.

Also, where is Baby? I think there's definitely time to squeeze one more BFP into this thread!!

As for me, my pg test line this morning was both faster and darker than the control line! Yay! After my booking in appointment tom morn I'm finally going to put the pee sticks away, it was comforting to see that line though!

NinjaChipmunk · 25/08/2011 11:33

Torrential rain here too. And on top of that I have just had to offload a pallet of 72 cartons with the help of our apprentice. Fat lot of help he was. So i have just essentially lifted 72 boxes with 200 bags in each. And now I need tea and something nice to help me get over it.
meconium good work on the big fat bfp!
farfalla glad you are feeling more positive, I have a friend with pcos, she was prescribed clomid and now has 2 lovely kids.
scarlet really glad you are feeling more positive today, try to hold on to it.
dream how exciting telling your folks, I want 3 too!although ds is already nearly 4 so wouldn't have to do the 3 under 3 thing!

CakePigeon · 25/08/2011 11:30

Glad your line is darker meconium and your vomiting is slightly less dream, I hope it stays minimal for you

I am really jealous maybe I am totally sick of getting wet in august, it simply isn't on! I'm in the office on my own this morning so have had far too much time to munch on chocolate and biscuits, naughty cake

maybebabyR · 25/08/2011 11:21

Glad you are feeling a little better Dream Bet the parent are very excited Smile

3 under 3 you are definitely a crazy lady brave

It is torrential here, so I am pleased I am on my sofa working rather than having to commute.

Folic acid

dreamfeeder · 25/08/2011 10:53

ooh, maybe, increased appetite, crying, and nearly vomming = preggers!! I nearly vommed at something before I confirmed my BFP but thought I was being ridiculous. You are up the duff.

I have been sick only once this morning and not so bad as yesterday. Good news! or is it bad news as it shouldn't be better yet?! 6 weeks tomorrow. I think. Have told my parents now and DH has told his. in the spirit of I AM pg, and even if i mc i'd certainly tell my parents.

Blimey at the friend with 4 children under 3 bartlet!!!! Now that would be hard work. If i can persuade DH and get pg again and all goes well this time I think i will go for the 3 under 3 option like a crazy lady

Anyway, my garden looks like a jungle, must go and attack...

oh- and hope you've persuaded dh into some morning nookie solars
