Glad you can call GP scream they will have you right as rain in no time.

Wants3 · 22/08/2011 11:17

golden I am due AF 16 th sept. Not to hot on all the cycle jargon yet but I hope this makes us cycle buddies! I've never had one of those before.

MyGoldenNotebook · 22/08/2011 11:12

Hello lovely ladies. Thanks to all who have mentioned me in their messages :-)

Scream re sensitive skin. I had very sensitive skin with DS - it was before I knew I was pregnant (I didn't find out until I was almost 10 weeks. I was on the pill so it was a big surprise). I had little rashes on my face and my skin felt generally delicate. Remember spending far too much money on creams and Chanel make up and feeling very annoyed at the state of my appearance.

Dream I am going to find it very hard not to tell people when I confirm the BLINDINGLY OBVIOUS on September 14th. Will almost certainly tell parents and best friends just not people at work and less close friends. I'm terrible at keeping my own secrets.

Farfella good luck with the SWI. Enjoy! I feel strangely positive this month too and well we should as POSITIVE PEOPLE GET POSITIVE PEE STICKS!

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 22/08/2011 11:07

Thanks for the advice ladies. My GP surgery takes telephone queries at midday so I'm going to give the doc a call and see if he thinks it's worth coming in for a blood test at this stage or waiting until next week.

Trying to control my inner hypochondriac! Thanks for the telephone suggestion, it's a great halfway house between rushing in to the doc's and just ignoring the possibility that this isn't a normal pregnancy symptom. It probably is, but this feels so familiar I just want to be sure. Plus my Mum isn't normally anemic but she became anemic during each pregnancy.

Thanks for the iron-rich food suggestion Imps. Since coming off the iron supplements I've been eating loads of spinach every day, and trying to make sure I have red meat at least every other day as well. It was working fine before this week, so maybe it's all just a perfectly normal symptom!

dreamfeeder · 22/08/2011 11:05

Marzipan!!! Just what i was needing!!! Thanks meconium

dreamfeeder · 22/08/2011 11:04

Yes scream, it'll be squeak being a pain in the neck already. I'm also tired, more so than usual. But maybe this early it could be anaemia. Get thee to the GP!!! (or ring them, though they won't be able to assess for anaemia over the phone, so i'd just go as you have a history of anaemia)

dreamfeeder · 22/08/2011 11:02

oh, rubbish, i wrote that without seeing the last page of posts....

scream, to the GP for them to confirm your pregnancy and check you out for anaemia- if your internet cheapie gives you a good line, theirs will too- GP ones are pretty sensitive. Take some wee!!! take some FMU!!!

I have just rung GP re: no smear and booked in with the midwife for when i'm back from my holiday. hope that doesn't jinx me

MeconiumHappens · 22/08/2011 10:57

Iron tabs are fine in pregnancy scream or maybe something more natural like some floradix? However the being exhausted is prob down to the litle squeak.

Have just realised baked goods faux pas....

Imps7 · 22/08/2011 10:54

I agree with Maybe Scream - does your surgery do a call-back service? (Mine does and it's brilliant for those little queries that you don't want to waste a whole appointment one). In the meantime if you can maybe it could be a good idea to eat trough loads of iron-rich yet baby-friendly foods? Vitamin C helps your body absorb iron, so maybe stock up on some Vit C rich foods while you're add it.

GenericDietCola · 22/08/2011 10:51

Yes Scream talk to your doctor. You don't want to be anaemic in your condition. Having said that, the 'bones feeling heavy' thing is an accurate description of early pregnancy in my experience.

dreamfeeder · 22/08/2011 10:50

Morning all!

I have just peed on my last pee stick, blooming massive, double-as-thick-as-any-other positive line Grin Grin. This is the end of testing for me. i think i'm 6 weeks pregnant on Friday. I have told a friend and my DH so far. Last time we told one of my best friends and all the family at 5 weeks- but only because I was this friend's bridesmaid, she was out of work and skint, and had bought me a size 8 bridesmaids dress for when I'd be 6 months pg. hence told her, and it felt wrong to tell her and not my family, then DH told his. lucky all went well that time. DH is keen to not tell people before the scan, but if i puke like last time and feel that ill, i will have to tell people earlier. The only reason i could manage to not last time was we were away for the 2 week honeymoon of the anti-romance, HEURGH!!!!!!!

Cake, I was SURE i was out having pink CM and brownish spotting when i wiped on CD26- implantation, as yours is!!!!!! I waited for ageeeeessssss before testing, that's all- for 8 days after that spotting. I reckon implantation Grin. Test again on Thurs

meconium, you're glowing and upduffed. Obviously.

imps, glad you had a nice weekend away and have found youreslf a cycle buddy
maybe, of course this month is your month.

Imps7 · 22/08/2011 10:50

Generic when I first started taking folic acid tablets I felt really sick and a bit dizzy - although it may have been a coincidence and I might just have been unwell! My system is not very good with tablets though - a lot of pain killers and antibiotics make me really ill. Luckily it doesn't seem to mind Superdrug own-brand baby tablets.

Maybe we were just with friends in deepest darkest Essex (well, just outside Chelmsford). Was a lovely chilled out weekend and I had hardly anything to drink which makes a change at the weekends. Just getting some abstinence practice in for when my pee stick confirms the Blindingly Obvious.

Best of luck with the shagathon Farfalla! Enjoy!

Meconium - six days late?? Helloooo BFP at some point soon!

maybebabyR · 22/08/2011 10:44

I would speak to your doc Scream you need to be in the best health possible at the moment Smile

Even if you could just phone up and ask for their advice, it would put your mind at rest

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 22/08/2011 10:40

Howdy Imps good to have you back! Having you, Maybe and Ninja as cycle buddies sounds like a seriously powerful trio!! Pee sticks beware!

Farfalla glad you're in a good place mentally, this month is YOUR MONTH after all!

Can I ask for some advice please ladies? I am absolutely exhausted at the moment. From the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep I am so tired it's like my bones have become super heavy. Now I know this could be an early pregnancy symptom, but I have had this a few times in the past and each time previously it turned out to be anemia. Normally I take iron supplements but I've stopped my iron supplements since ttc because I don't want to take anything without speaking to a doc/mw first.

Sorry for the rambling, my point is do you think I should go and see my doc - I can tell him about the positive pee sticks and ask him to do a blood test to see if I've become anemic again? On the other hand it's waaaaaaaaaaaay too early! Today is the first day AF could potentially be due, and I wouldn't count it as late until the weekend given my longest cycle length would take me to Friday. So I wasn't planning to see my doc until next week at the earliest. Argh! I'm not sure what to do!

GenericDietCola · 22/08/2011 10:33

Scarlet good theory re metabolism. I was hoping they would perk me up a bit, like you reported, but I still feel tired and now I feel a bit ill as well. I may stop them for a few days to see if I get better. I'm glad your cramps have eased off. No idea re sensitive skin! I'm sure it's a good sign though!

Farfalla sounds like a fab weekend and glad you are back to brooking no argument for this cycle. We will both be confirming together in mid-September, don't you worry.

maybebabyR · 22/08/2011 10:30

Sounds like that was just what you needed Farfalla Glad you are feeling philosophical this month, tis how I am feeling too.

I'm now oping to keep up this new found positivity over the next 2 week Hmm

farfallarocks · 22/08/2011 10:24

Welcome to all the newbies, am relieved you are joining us as at this rate there will be NO ONE left in here!

So glad all the BFPs are continuing to be confirmed.

Have been strangely philosophical about AF this month, on day 3 now and gearing up to a marathon shag fest this weekend and all throughout the week after. Have started taking my vitamins a bit more religiously as well.

Had a lovely weekend in the country for a friend's birthday, there was a lot of croquet and outdoor table tennis as well as vats of wine, twas lovely!

Yummy cookies thanks generic

Welcome musical and meconium Wow this thread is getting busy. All the BFPs are drawing people in. This thread really does work by the way.

Didn't get any nausea from taking the B vits generic if anything they made me feel better than normal. Do you have a fast metabolism anyway? Mine's quite sluggish and I think it helped speed mine up. If yours was good to begin with maybe the vits could be causing things to move even faster IFYWIM?

Thanks for the words of wisdom re the cramps, it's actually gone off again now Blush I'm a nightmare aren't I. While we're on the subject of weird symptoms though, do any of you know anything about sensitive skin in early pregnancy? The skin on my lower back is so tender to touch, there's no rash and it's only started this morning but it's the weirdest sensation.

Still not told anyone else apart from DH, Dr and best friend. No framing of pee sticks musical the ones from last week have gone really manky already so they were confined to the wheelie bin this morning. (Have just kept a couple from the weekend to make comparisons with Grin)

maybebabyR · 22/08/2011 10:12

Morning Imps, glad you had a lovely break. Anywhere nice? I think you should join myself and Ninja I don't really know when I ovulated, but I am hoping I am in the 2ww!

Imps7 · 22/08/2011 10:10

Hello hello hello! I'm back after an excellent weekend away. So many new faces and bumps! Hello to you all!

Sorry for BFN Cake but you have clearly tested too early. You may also not have carried out a thorough enough interview process with the pee stick to establish its credentials for confirming the Blindingly Obvious. Better luck with the next one.

Anyone else at 4 DPO?? Do I have a testing buddy amongst you???

maybebabyR · 22/08/2011 10:10

Oooh, it appears we are cycle buddies Ninja Smile

Normally they are 35 days ish, but then last month was 42! How long are yours normally? Not that is matters this month, as you are so clearly with child...

NinjaChipmunk · 22/08/2011 10:07

generic your cookies are just what i need this morning. Yummy.
meconium you are pregnant, there is no doubt about it. It cannot be any other way.
wants don't tidy too much, you don't want to over exert yourself in your condition.
maybe i'm on cd21, what length are yours usually? I'm reckoning on tail end of bank holiday weekend for af not arriving.
at work today and as usual not in the mood, i'd much rather be here.....

CakePigeon · 22/08/2011 10:03

jaggy it's lovely that you work with such close friends Smile

meconium ooh that is truly exciting you are so obviously pregnant I know of NO other reason why your period would be late at all. You don't even need pee stick confirmation it is that obvious!

GenericDietCola · 22/08/2011 10:02

Meconium - relax, now you're on this thread it is a done deal.

Golden - got an evening to myself tonight so am also going to paint nails etc and be waiting in something alluring for when DH gets home!

Maybe nice to see you.

Of the vit B complex-takers, is anyone experiencing any problems with them? I have been nauseous and a bit 'upset' stomach-wise for a week or so and I think it's the vit B. Anyone else? Don't know whether to stop them or persevere. Are they going to make me pregnant this month or is it just the awesome shagging
