Let's face it May 2012 is full of bank holidays leading up to an extra day off thanks to the Queen. We are all bound to get updiffed and miss the time off -(where we should be in the pub) looking after our new babies.

A bus for those who find it difficult to remember new names. Ting ting - no getting off untilk a BFP.

Starting the stats Bleats (31) TTC#1 af due 31st Aug ish

Hi all fx for all those in the 2ww... in the pre swi drinking phas atm

desperateoldie67 · 16/08/2011 14:16

It's ok Horsey, I'm really not much better tbh. I had VILE OV pains this month - proper nasty twisty ones.

God and now all I want to do is vomit :( It's probably just a tummy bug, but I wish it'd bugger off cos this isn't nice!

HorseyGirl1 · 16/08/2011 13:21

Thanks! How did I reach my age and still know so little about things. Someone else told me something similar in RL so going to try more early in cycle from now on. I think I'll pay more attention to the EWM rather than anything else. (Sorry if all this is TMI, just don't like asking people about this in real life, blush, here no one see you!) xx

KinkyDorito · 16/08/2011 13:08

It took me a year to fall pg with DS. I'd pretty much given up, and was being more casual about things. We'd been SWI each month for a few days pre and post OV. I know when I OV as I get pains. When I finally got pg, it was one drunken evening on CD8. This was 7 days before OV, but it was the only time we'd had sex that month, so I know it was definitely then. Perhaps I OV earlier that month, who knows - but I think my approach to TTC this time will be plenty of SWI straight after AF, until about CD19! Do it LOADS!!! Grin

desperateoldie67 · 16/08/2011 12:14

Bleurgh...really burpy. My stomach feels full of air...and then I have to burp carefully in case of 'follow through' - yeah, sorry...TMI! :o

Sorry, can't help you on the going at it like ferrets Horsey. I tend to take every opportunity I can with Mr Desperate, but then I still fancy the arse off him and have to prevent myself from jumping on him whenever he walks through the door! :o

HorseyGirl1 · 16/08/2011 11:56

FX for you Desparate - feeling a bit like that myself.
I hope you don't mind me jumping in with your query but could I ask similar Q to you. I get EWM a couple of days before the big go on the OPK sticks - does this happen to anyone else and when should we go at it like ferrets? Any ideas anyone?

desperateoldie67 · 16/08/2011 10:52

Hi Spuddy. I'm pretty new to all this to be honest. I just assumed you shagged and got preggo - not at 43 you don't LOL! Confused

I started charting this cycle, so I've been taking my temperature every morning and putting it on a chart. From charting, it was pretty obvious when I ovulated as there was a large drop in temperature and when I poas there was a faint line. I didn't get chance the following day as I was busily SWI with boyfriend :)

I should be checking CM too, but I've been a bit lax at that to be honest. I do know that I don't get the particularly stretchy variety, so I may end up having to go down the Preseed route too to try and give boyfriend's little swimmers a better chance! :o

If you're quite dry, it may be worth using Preseed. I know a lot of people swear by it. If you're not getting the egg white consistency CM then it can help make it a more hospitable environment for sperm, apparently. I know sweet bugger all, so hopefully someone who knows better will be along to give you better information.

Spuddybean · 16/08/2011 10:43

Okay ladies - a couple of questions.

I have never bothered checking CM. TMI - since i hit 32 i am quite dry so i have never really noticed any changes. What am i looking/feeling for?

And - when do i start peeing on the ovulation sticks? I had AF 6 August?

desperateoldie67 · 16/08/2011 10:24

Well, I NEVER get cramps at any other time except during my period - not even the day before - I mostly get no warning whatsoever, so this is definitely odd for me.

I suspect I had a mc earlier in the year. I had all the signs of being pregnant, but I think it was a chemical pregnancy.

This would be my first. I had a termination at 18, but then I didn't really have a lot of choice at the time, and it was always something I bitterly regretted. I know that back then, my boobs were the first indication that there was something wrong - I couldn't bear to have them touched. This time they feel ok, but then every pregnancy is different, isn't it? I still don't think I am. If I continue to say that, then I won't be too disappointed if I'm not. What a big fat lie that is!!! Wink

KinkyDorito · 16/08/2011 09:56

I know what you mean! I keep giving mine a bit of a squeeze to check for soreness, though I don't know if this counts!! I am pretty mental at the best of times; DH is rather amused that we've gone from not really wanting one to complete baby-ache in about 10 days Grin.

Before I had DS I had a month where AF was late, boobs were so sore I couldn't lay down, cramps, bloating, nausea, the lot. But AF did arrive eventually and I'd never tested. I suspect this occasion, and a couple of times before in the distant past, were possible early MC, but I'll never know for sure. All I know about this month is that it isn't normal for me, and something is happening. Whether this will be DC3 remains to be seen.

desperateoldie67 · 16/08/2011 09:17

Hi Kinky. Boobs are only sore if I squeeze 'em...but having low-level nausea and raging hunger! NOT weeing for England, so think my head is just doing this to me. Aaaaargh! I'm ahead in the crazy stakes, so I really don't need something like this to push me over the edge :o

KinkyDorito · 16/08/2011 09:09

Hi desperate!

I was totally convinced at the end of last week due to cramps, but now don't feel it so much. I wonder if it tried to stick and failed - something was definitely going on in there! Anyway, another week to wait and see. To say I wasn't even trying, it has quickly become an obsession again. I'm forever symptom spotting. It's messing with my mind!!

desperateoldie67 · 16/08/2011 08:41

....erm, well maybe not...

Mind if I join in ladies? I'm on a few other threads, but I'm in the 2ww at the minute. AF would be due on 23rd August. I don't feel pregnant, so I ain't holding my breath this month. But I'm here, and willing to pay the fare :)

harmonyb23 · 15/08/2011 12:21

Hello everyone! I have finally taken my foot off the April bus as AF arrived yesterday. Pretty disappointed :(

But hoping for a good month this month. I am at least satisfied that my cycles are getting back to normal as AF showed up exactly when she was supposed to on CD28.

Wishing everyone on here much luck this month.

Mersea · 14/08/2011 22:26

Hi

I think you can have a small amount of bleeding when you ovulate, so likely to show in CM at that time but I am not sure.

I found taking evening primrose during AF helped in increase my CM but you should only take it for a short time as it can cause contractions, so not good to continue to take it once you have ovulated.

Both me and dp have rotten colds at the moment so really not feeling up to much but would be a shame to miss an opportunity!

Pipbin · 13/08/2011 23:28

Hi spuddy I'm still here.

As it is the holidays I'm trying very hard not to obsess. Just DTD every other day!

TMI Alert
So AF left a about a week ago and we got down to business. Yesterday my CM was pink and then bloody. This was only when I wiped and not enough to even show on a panty liner. When I went to the loo Seriously TMI here I held some paper there and pushed. More bloody CM and then a small clot.
Any ideas what might have been going on?

Byrnsie30 · 13/08/2011 10:22

Welcome to all newbies.

Kinky I have an IBS question for you. For about 6 months now I've had a wierd feeling on my left hand side, just above my hipbone. The only way I can describe it is a pressure when I lift up my left leg to my body (eg. when driving) or when I crouch down, or wear tight clothes (jeans). I've had an ultrasound and blood tests which are all clear, so the doc said it might be IBS and gave me an info sheet with regards to food etc. TMI alert, I do get constipated, but that is the only symptom really - and I don't know where to start with the food thing. As far as I can tell there is no particular food group which makes this pressure any better or worse!

Apologies for long description, but just thought I'd ask someone else who has it!!! Hope you are feeling better soon x

KinkyDorito · 13/08/2011 08:09

180 Holiday AND lots of SWI - lucky thing! Plus, isn't it actually proven that more women fall pg whilst on holiday? Being more relaxed and all that.

I ache this morning. I feel like someone's being kicking me in the groin. I have lots to do today, so hoping for a gentler time.

Happy Saturday to all.

180 · 12/08/2011 21:37

kinky sounds horrid. fwiw I had a c-section first time round and remember a sort of sharp pain that felt like cuts after c-sec, v diff to AF pain. I've also had a vbac 20 months later and no worries so please try not to worry about CS. Bodies are amazing Smile. thanks, am looking forward to swi as ov falls right in the middle of our holiday week Grin, couldn't have planned it better myself Wink.

KinkyDorito · 12/08/2011 21:28

I think I'm paranoid because I've had 2 c-sections, so I'm worried that everything will be okay in there.

I had implantation pain with DS and it was little stabbing pains. This is full on period pain. I'm not constipated as it is making me go to the loo (sorry, TMI Blush). When I get my AF I normally get IBS flare up too, so it's all very similar. I'm not due AF for another 12 days. Gah. I'm still laid out with water bottle.

I am sorry about AF 180. I hope it passes quickly and painlessly, to make way for much SWI Smile.

Spuddybean · 12/08/2011 21:22

Just popping by to say hello to everyone and all the new joiners. pipbin are you there? haven't heard from you in a while.

DP and i have just dtd so let the every other day battle commence for this month!

I am having a beer and a few fags tonight but as of tomo i'm back on the wagon! feeling quite pissed positive for once so i'm just going with it!

Clandy · 12/08/2011 20:36

Also hello pinkapples fingers crossed for you too Smile

Clandy · 12/08/2011 20:36

Hi kinky I had major pains early on in my pregnancy with dd1 (although didn't know at time that I was pregnant Smile) have no idea what it was but I spent a good few days on the sofa with a hot water bottle too and my baby was perfectly fine so try not to worry.
Shame af arrived 180 fingers crossed for this month....

180 · 12/08/2011 20:34

Hi Pink, welcome to the bus Smile

180 · 12/08/2011 20:33

Kinky something else that I've had since having #2 is really bad AF pains if I'm at all constipated. but for some reason since the birth, being constipated has resulted in bad AF pains as if it's pushing on my womb. It's really odd and god knows what they did to me but could it be related? Constipation is also a sign of pregnancy of course Wink.
