Hello! Just miscarried and ready to start again, come and join us...

OP posts:
InsomniaQueen · 10/09/2011 14:36

A super quick one to say happy birthday to poppy and that all is well with mini IQ - the little one seemed to be waving and stretching loads and have a couple of good face pictures......they definitely have my sisters cheeks!!!!

Right will catch up properly later but must dash as I'm already late to me my friend!!! Xxxx

MandaHugNKiss · 10/09/2011 14:22

LOL missg I was just coming on to say: marathon that's it, you've cured me by concocting dairy milk prawns!' Talk about ! (that said, I'm really not a fan of dairy milk, or any chocolate. I know, I'm terribly odd)

Missgiraffe1 · 10/09/2011 11:23

baby Hoorah for AF! Good news.

Very quick one:
Well, I think I pulled off an oscar-winning performance last night. My friend was having a huge party - I mean huge. Covered dancefloor area out in garden, DJ set (my DH DJs) etc. So, when I first arrived, I opened a bottle of corona and took a couple of little sips whilst catching up with some friends in the kitchen. Then, I went through to where DH was setting up the decks and gave him my beer. Of course, no-one through in the party room knew I wasn't just giving my DH a beer, and no-one in the kitchen where I first got the beer knew I had ditched it. Came back 10 mins later and poured a 'vodka' and coke, and had 'vodka' and coke all night.

Around 1.30, I said I was going to bed - and left! The good thing is, they live on a massive farm, the house is mahoosove (I can stand inside one of the fireplaces) so you can quite easily say you're going to bed and no-one would know any different. And, my car was parked way up the drive near the stables so no-one would even see or hear me leave.

MY DH and BF planned to tell everyone this monrnng that I had got up early and left to pick up nephew.

I seem to be good at this lying malarkey!

Happy weekend everyone! (am really away to pick up nephew now Smile )
ps. Marathon prawn flavoured dairy milk is soooooooooo wrong Grin

babysaurus · 09/09/2011 16:09

This is going to be a super fast post as DH due back any second (well, he initially said 1pm but is always far later than he claims he will be.)

Marathon that's fab news. I can understand your reservations though, I think I'd be the same despite crossing the 12 week hurdle. However, it does seem like all systems go and so far so good and I am really glad you're feeling positive too.

IQ I have everything crossed we have similarly good news from you tomorrow.

Well, as I am sure you are all desperate to know, yes it is AF! Also, it was precisely 28 days ago (I checked!) that I had the heavy spotting etc which I wasn't sure if it was AF or not. I am very pleased indeed that things seem to be getting back to normal. Pebs I hope yours comes soon too so we can all get on with SWI!

Right, know I've missed loads but must rush. Wil check when I can over the weekend (yes, it is 37th birthday on Sunday, and happy 30th Poppy!)

x

MarathonMama · 09/09/2011 14:32

Gosh it's been chatastic here since I was last on! Sorry for not coming back after the blood test on Weds, I've been having probs with wireless connection.

Well, as I said, the scan seemed to go ok. I was sobbing so much when they found the hb that the sonographer had to stop for five mins. It was a long scan as we opted for the nuchal test but she couldn't get baby into position so she was prodding and poking for a good 20 mins. My measurements were large so she's put my due date forward by a week (to the 10th of March) but, as we were using opks, I think this is wrong. She said to talk to my midwife, apparently if you've been pg within 3 months of the scan they will only date you based on the scan, not on your LMP or OV date. I'm hoping to persuade my midwife to change it as I do NOT want to be induced because my dates were wrong.

We've only told a few close family. I don't feel the excitement I had after the 12 week scan with dd, I'm very conscious that things could still go wrong. Haven't posted anything on facebook as I vowed I wouldn't after my friend posted her scan pic the day of my erpc.

Still have my head in the sand even though our odds are so much better. I guess that's how it's going to be now, the worry will never go (yes MissG it was my DH who said it was wasted energy!). You don't think it'll happen to you but when it has, you start to think that everything could happen to you, iyswim? Now I'm worrying about the nuchal results (as I know someone who aborted a downs baby) and the 20 week scan (I also know someone who was induced after the 20 week scan as the baby had defects that meant it wouldn't live outside the womb, it was so sad).

Anyway, we're one step further on and I feel much more positive and less metal than I have for a long time Grin

MissG and Manda the prawnaholics, you two need to eat prawns until you're (literally) sick of them, that'll sort you both out. I have a confession, I went to the chinese restaurant opposite the gym for lunch. Chili beef and rice, yum. Rather excessive, not going to tell DH. Especially given they weighed me at the hospital and I've put on nearly a stone already, this isn't boding well...

MissG hadn't heard your ectopic story before. It was very sad, you've been through so much, really hoping that things are on the up now. Sorry the lasagne was disappointing, you should have sneaked a few prawns in your handbag. Important to remember to take the ones you haven't eaten out again... urrrggh !

Manda fab news! Do you still think it's a girl? I pretty sure this one's a boy and the mc one was a girl. Funny how we have these instincts. Were you right before?

Baby glad AF seems to be appearing and you're feeling better. For me, AF made me feel more positive as I felt like we could start to do something proactive to get things back on track. It must be hard for you in some ways because we're all a bit further on (i.e our mcs happened months before yours) so it may seem that we've moved on from the grief. We've all been there though and the grief never truly abates, so we totally understand where you're coming from and are here to support as best we can Smile

Oh and Happy Birthday for the weekend!!!

IQ oh dear, crutches, that doesn't sound good. Do you know what's causing it? Can it be sorted? Is your sis there to help? Will be lurking tomorrow to hear your news, all the very best of luck, will be thinking of you.

Zebra very jel of your trip. Never been to Japan but I'd love to go (I bloody love good sushi but can't get it since I moved out of London; that's not the only reason I'd like to go though, seem to have food on my mind all the time at the moment!). I love NY, have been a few times. Will you have time for shopping? Before we had dd, DH and I saved and went away for a week to Chicago (our fav US city), we explored, shopped, ate at amazing restaurants, stayed in a gorgeous hotel, it was brilliant. Now that we have dd I always think of that trip as something we won't do again until we retire. Not that I'd swap dd for anything, obviously Smile

Summer dd is 25 months, a great age IMO. Lots of talking (ish), knows her own mind, a real little person and definitely not a baby anymore. So cute!

Poppy Happy Birthday for tomorrow! The big 3-0 eh, that deserves some celebrating. Enjoy it! My b'day is next week, the big 3-5, eeek! All these September birthdays eh? We know what our parents were up to at Christmas Wink

Peps hope you get something from the doctor that doesn't interfere with your trip. Let us know how it goes.

Pie I loved your poo story, I hate taking dd's nappy off, she wee'd up the side of the washing basket last night. It's the way she looks down in an innocent "well look at that! there seems to be something coming out" sort of way. Bless 'em!

So, who've I missed? I'm bound to have missed someone. Hello to whoever I've missed! It's Friday so time for chocolate passes round prawn-flavoured Dairy Milk

OP posts:
PieMistress · 09/09/2011 13:44

I can't keep up! so apologies in advance if I've missed replying!

Anybody have any holiday suggestions for a week at the end of October? Preferably not further south than Yorkshire/Peak District (we are in Scotland so don't want to drive more than say, 7 hours). Needs to be toddler friendly. I was thinking of Centre Parcs but the price puts me off, and the fact it's mostly Mon-Fri only rather than a full week?

I'm getting my bridesmaid's dress altered next week as it's too long. The last time I had it on was when I was 6 weeks pg

poppy happy 30th birthday for tomorrow! I can remember my 30th well (just!) me and my girlfriends all went to Dublin for a weekend and wore 70s clothes. It was absolutely hilarious and very very drunken indeed! It was 9 years ago though Shock

baby happy birthday for sunday!! What do you have planned?

pebs I didn't get AF for 8 weeks by which point I was also thinking of going to ask for something to kick start the witch. Your tenerife holiday sounds like it has come at a good time! A break in the sun sounds just the ticket right now :)

summer My DS is 20 months. We aren't potty training yet, he just has some nappy off time after his bath which sometimes results in accidents on the floor! My FF chart is acting as my SWI spreadsheet at the moment but we aren't doing that well so far (CD8 and CD12 but I don't ov normally until between CD17 - CD19 so will hopefully have a busy week ahead!) :)

manda good work on being chilled! and scoffing the prawns! How are you feeling today?

IQ Will be thinking of you tomorrow, is this your 12 week scan? Hope you manage to get a decent night's sleep tonight.

missg Go gal with the PMA!! I'm not with you on the whole prawns thing though!

zebra wow happy travels! You lucky gal! NY is on my destination list for my 40th (next year!)

baby did AF make her appearance known yet?

eve awwww bet the first day of school photos of DS were very cute!!

sorry if there was anything else said I but can't go back a page for some reason!!

Missgiraffe1 · 09/09/2011 13:22

Poppy I bet you'll have a great time - even if it rains. I love the zoo. We took my nephew in May when he had just turned 1. I think I was far more excited than him though! It's been a long time since DD wanted to go anywhere like that! Bad luck being allergic to prawns Sad .

Happy birthday for tomorrow (thanks for clearing that up) and enjoy your dinner. And to you to for Sunday Baby

pebs I do think the GP can give you something to kick start AF into action again, but they might want to do HcG tests first. Good luck with it anyway. 10 weeks is a long time to be waiting. I hope zippng about in your new wheels is helping you to take your mind off it a little.

Poppyjen · 09/09/2011 12:55

Hi all, just a quick one - thanks MissG for birthday wishes, I am on Saturday and its Baby on Sunday I think. Its my 30th, which by rights I should be celebrating with something very grown up and boozy sophisticated but in actual fact I shall be going to the zoo with DH and DS (in the rain probably). It is amazing how priorities change, now that I have DS the most important thing to me on my birthday is that he has a good day (that way I will be happy too Smile ).

Don't worry folks, I am not completely lost to mummy-hood DH and I are sneaking out for dinner tonight whilst my lovely friend babysits Wink

Wishing you so much good luck for tomorrow IQ

Baby hoping AF is here for you so you can get back at it Grin

Oh and I am Envy of those eating/planning to eat prawns. I am allergic to them, but they're so delicious. Not a great combination....

Happy Friday everyone!

pebspop · 09/09/2011 10:51

baby to channel my inner amy childs - i am well jel of your af!! it's 10 weeks for me now without even a sniff of af.

zebra sounds like new york and japan will be amazing - not sure if i could be bothered with all that flying though.

insonmia i am going to the doctors on monday to help find my missing af! i have been researching and it looks like they may give me progesterone tablets called provera. hopefully i will take them for 10 days and af will appear as if by magic! just hope it resets my cycles and i start ov'ing and af gets back to normal. i am hoping to start ttc in october after seeing the consultants for my results of the mc tests.

i am going to tenerife next weekend so would prefer not to have af. might hold off taking the tablets until i get back. sod's law af will come anyway when i am on holiday!

Missgiraffe1 · 09/09/2011 10:22

Oh and Zebra, coffee made with amaretto liqueur is lovely too. Nice for after prawn dinner.

Missgiraffe1 · 09/09/2011 10:20

I know, how odd that we're all rooting for Af to arrive for you Baby! I know you don't want to count your prawns chickens too soon, but this sounds promising. AF arrival = back on the SWI mission! Smile

Manda I am majorly Envy that you had prawns twice last night! The lasagne was fabulous right enough, BUT IT WASN'T PRAWNS! Lol at your comment. Said strange man is a very good cook (and he looks like Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam, so it quite easy on the eye too). Which is great, because the male competive streaks means that he and my DH try to out do each other every time we have folk over for dinner. This makes for some amazing culinary delights!

Well, Summer, the spreadsheet has spoken Grin And, as he makes such a great prawn starter, he deserves some shagging!

Hey IQ (and bump). Sorry to hear you're having back problems and hips Sad. Is it something that is likely to sort itself with physio, or are you likely to be with crutches for your pg? And, most importantly, have you been signed off doing housework??? Grin All the best for tomorrow, will be thinking about you. x

Eve we only have super-fabulous Mums/mums-to-be/future Mummies-in-the-making on here Smile. I say tell her to get to bed earlier so she has more energy and patience at work. He's 5, she's a grown up. He'll settle into school life at his own pace. Smile

Wow Zebra sounds like an amazing opportunity! And it doesn't need to mean TTC is completely out, but you (and DH) will have your work cut out at the weekends! Grin

Happy birthday for Sunday Poppy. Just saying it just now as I am out at a friends tonight, and am getting nephew tomorrow at 11am, so might not be on MN tomorrow.

Hi to everyone else Marathon, Shimmery (we haven't head from you in a while, Hope you're doing ok) Pie Pebs Blue (you have your work cut out when you try to catch up on here! Hope you had a fab holiday!)

I am feeling very full of PMA at the mo. Marathon was it your DH who said that worrying was just a waste of energy? I am in agreement (for now). The only think bringing down my PMA is THE FREAKIN' LACK OF PRAWNS!!!!!!!! Grin Grin Grin

MandaHugNKiss · 09/09/2011 09:07

Envy New york AND Japan? That's just greedy, zeb! Konichiwaaaaaa! I've always wanted to go to Japan and test out my two words of Japanese. Domo Arigato! See? I'm virtually fluent Grin Seriously, I've wanted to go for years but I think I've missed my window of opportunity for some time as it's not a trip Id want to do with little ones in tow - my older two were bad enough in Egypt (which was a stunning trip, going to temples, pyramids (into one too), the unfinished obelisk, the Egyptian Museum, valley of kings, cruising the Nile etc etc) so I wouldn't be in a rush to go on another cultural visit with kids. Maybe when I'm decrepit retired.

I had salt and pepper prawns, and prawns in garlic last night. It didn't scratch the itch, either... I want satay prawns made by some man I don't even know! How was the lasagne missg?

Oh, I have EVERYTHING crossed for you, for tomorrow morning, IQ

Was it af, baby? I hope so (as weird as that sounds) and if you're anything like me, pms makes me very negative/volatile for a couple of days before af so here's hoping your PMA returns with bells on!

Just realised - not felt the need to metal at all. I'm totally in denial, aren't I?

zebradoodle · 09/09/2011 08:30

Morning all, PMA outlook here is good! Hehe, IQ, I have just about managed to resist the lunchtime Wine, although now Summer is my partner in irish coffee crime, this may not last ;-). Anyone else wishing to join the "medicinal beverages" crew, today's Brew is hot chocolate and grand marnier (sounds gross but it's great, had forgotten about that one!).

Also have just heard that my job is shipping me off to do some work in New York then Japan! Result! Slight spanner in the ttc works as will only see DH at weekends, but hey, it's only for a couple of months, and this sounds like a good jolly very important project. Quite imminent it seems (might leave this weekend), so just in case I'm not back here for a while:

MissG, Marathon, Manda and IQ, really hope you guys continue to make good progress, and loads of luck with it! IQ, poor you with the crutches, make sure you take it easy and look after yourself.

SUmmer, Eve, Baby, Pie, Pebs, Poppy, Blue and Shimmery, and everyone (v sorry if I've missed you), loads of PMA and good wishes for all the results you want (without too much metalling, hopefully). Respeck to the June Squad Massif Wink.

Ta ta for now! Z x

InsomniaQueen · 08/09/2011 21:24

Since my last update there has been 2 (yes 2 new pages - chatter boxes), one BFP (big congrats again to manda), our first positive 12 week scan from marathon (keeping everything crossed this continues) and I now have a pair of crutches courtesy of the physio!!!! Been having problems with my back and hips and the physio has given me crutches to use so that I can take the weight off my hips and help support my spine.....at least I won't be rushing around at work anymore....he he he!!!! My 12 week scan is on saturday at 9am so I will be rushing home to share all news (hopefully good) with you ladies!!

baby sorry to hear about your prescription drama but glad you've found your PMA and hope that this is the corner that you needed to turn!!!

summer you weren't bullying just gently nudging me in the right direction....really I needed it and it was all for the best - well so far anyway!! Keep up the good work with the SWI - hopefully your on the way for a june baby!!! Also loving the idea of your spreadsheet....I have a thing about excel and have created many a life managing spreadsheet....it didn't occur to me to do one for ttc but I suppose I couldn't think of everything!!!

pie how is acupuncture treating you? Defo feel getting sloshed at your best mates wedding is the right way to go....my best mate was drunk at mine and I loved every second of it!!! Also loving the carpet poo story and looking forward to these wonderful yucky moments of motherhood!!!

Pebs - any news dr wise? Holiday sounds fab....can't wait for my DH to come home then we will be having a nice break away - not sure where yet as he refuses to let me fly!!!

eve try not to stress too much about your little one and school - teachers tend to take you aside early on if they see good potential in the child but worry that its not being focused.....he will get to grips with the whole "school" thing and it will be fine!!! And you don't go on....have you seen the length of my usual posts!!! Xxx

manda keep thinking sticky thoughts....when I had all the early on stretching and pulling I imagined that the bean was making a space to burrow down in to....strange yes but it did help!! My friend was expecting to be offered a reassurance scan but has been told that hospitals in our area no longer offer this service as they are unable to keep up with current demands - bloody disappointed for her as she can't go private and even with her history (3 mmc) they still won't do anything - hope you have better luck your end!!

zebra how are you feeling now? Hopefully a bit better! Did you go for the lunchtime wine or were you really disciplined??

missg welcome to the puke face club....Grin your story was super sad but I'm keeping my PMA face on with this one and hoping all is well inside there for you!!

Right now who have I missed....hello to poppy, marathon, blue, shimmery .....right I think that's everyone....me and the ever growing bump are off to bed!!! Love to all xxx

Summerbird73 · 08/09/2011 21:04

woo hoo baby yay for AF (for a change!) YY that is such good news, both times this year i have been so relieved to get AF so i could get cracking.

eve blimey your DSs teacher is a bit quick on the uptake eh? you are not a bad parent, coz i say so! also i know it is hard it is when DH is away - here have a Wine

missg and manda i am obsessing about prawns now Envy i do looove a prawn satay, DH also makes a lovely chili prawn starter. he is off to squash tonight and is going to make a lamb and spinach curry when he gets in - then hopefully a spot of SWI afterwards Grin (well i should hope so - it is on my spreadsheet!) Wink

babysaurus · 08/09/2011 20:33

Eve in the grand scheme off things, you do not go on!

Anyway, I have breaking news and hope you are all braced - I think I am getting AF! (Bet you're glad you braced yourselves, and also bet you can barely stand the excitement Wink) This is actually good news as it means we can properly start SWI instead of thinking about things getting back to normal cycle wise. I won't count my chickens just yet but I do feel far better than I have all week.

PMA, PMA, PMA Grin

eve34 · 08/09/2011 19:02

Evening all.

Baby and Miss G i am so sorry to hear these stories. I can't imagine for one moment how upsetting it must be for you both.

Marathan - really pleased the scan went well.

Hope everyone else is ok? Summer i am very envious of your swi. DP is away this week and next so feeling really flat about ttc. Part of me thinks we should just not bother. now DS is at school we can get some money behind us and replace the cars/kitchen etc. Have a nice work/life balance etc. I wonder why I would want another baby now ds is 5. Then I think I want ttc. It goes round and round.

DS is going to school ok, although the teacher wanted a word today. I told them before he started he was a handful So got the bad parent lecture about bedtimes etc. So feeling pretty shit right now. DP is away and never has much to do with the organising day to day stuff I am just fed up of it always being me sorting everything out.

On the up side disneyland Paris is next Thurs really be nice to be there but it isn't going to be very relaxing. And as always I have stuff to sort out for this as DP is working away.

Oh I do go on don't I.

Miss G I am sure the lasagna will be wonderful.

Keep up the PMA ladies :-)

MandaHugNKiss · 08/09/2011 19:01

Joke? I would be crying off...

Heh. I jest too. I really hardly ever cook and am always grateful when somebody makes the effort.

Dp just called to say he's gonna call his mum to have DS2 for a couple of hours and 'get me out'. We've yet to see The Inbetweeners (which we both find hilarious) so maybe that. Followed by something that includes bottom feeders... Grin

Enjoy your chick 'n' broc Lasagne missG!

Missgiraffe1 · 08/09/2011 18:34

That was a joke btw Grin Grin. Incase you think I'm really an ungrateful cow of a friend! (although I am still bitterly disappointed)

Missgiraffe1 · 08/09/2011 18:30

haha Manda!! Grin You have it bad! Well, if it's any consolation, just got a text from masterchef himself ....... chicken & broccoli lasagne Shock Sad Angry
Gutted
Thinking of pulling a sickie

MandaHugNKiss · 08/09/2011 17:10

Prawn count in my last post = 6

Well, 5 and 1 prawan. Grin

MandaHugNKiss · 08/09/2011 17:09

Wowzers missg that's some experience. Whilst summer is right that it wouldn't do to dwell, I think there has to be a little comfort (as far as this pregnancy is concerned) in that what happened is extremely rare.

Fgs, woman, I was obsessing over the thought of those prawans when you mentioned them before... and now I REALLY want them! Grin

I couldn't get enough prawns when I was pregnant with DS2 (bottom feeders or not - I LOVES them!) and once in ASK I had prawns picante to start, followed by prawns picante for main! The waitress looked at me like I was a loony but it was yuuuuummmmmm!

Damn... the only 'prawn' anything I have here is prawn cocktail crisps and they just WON'T do. May have to venture to the shops...

babysaurus · 08/09/2011 16:54

I like your style MissG!

Missgiraffe1 · 08/09/2011 16:53

Definitely, PMA all the way! Cheers! Off out to my friends tonight for dinner. I really hope her DH is doing the king prawn satay, otherwise I will struggle to hide my disappointment! Have been thinking about it for over a week!

babysaurus · 08/09/2011 16:39

Frig. I wrote a long and involved post (which didn't involve the usual me me me, for once) and the bloody thing vanished! Got a screen instead saying I had to log in first before I could preview the message Confused

Anyway, this one will have to be very brief. Poor you MissG, your experience sounds really shite. And quite traumatic too. I second the PMA for this pregnancy too Smile
