Hello! Just miscarried and ready to start again, come and join us...

OP posts:
Summerbird73 · 27/07/2011 15:46

erhem i had that when PG with DS (i know coz i searched back for my previous posts back in 2008 when i was a lowly summerbird without the 73) i checked to see what my symptoms were - i posted on the fred: 'is EWCM a symptom coz i have loads of it today' and then a few hours later i got my BFP.

just saying!

er missg and pie will you two shut uuuuuuuup. i cant POAS as i only have one left! also am getting some little back cramps - and have been going to the loo every half hour and reckon there is some brown spotting - i think - maybe.

I am 14DPO today and CD24 - i will be CD28 on Sunday but may test on Saturday if AF doesnt turn up by then (or shall i do FMU on Sun morn? - ponders)

Part of me wishes AF would just bloody turn up to put me out of (or in) my misery!

pie you WILL get PG again Smile i know coz we all said so!

Missgiraffe1 · 27/07/2011 15:32

Yes Summer POAS!! TWAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNGGGGGG! (musical encouragement from my air guitar obv Grin)

I have a question for all you CM charters. Warning: way TMI coming up. Blush

I just went down the stairs (my office is upstairs) to make a Brew and was standing putting coffee in a mug when I felt warm and wet down there. So, off to toilet to inspect said warm wetness. It was this thick creamy-coloured CM, kind of like a paste, but not wall paper paste as it was not sticky at all, and I can't think of a foodstuff I would compare it to. I have always said that I haven't ever checked CM (not when TTC anyway) so assumed this was the EWCM everyone mentions, and was thinking "Oh great, all that SWI and I am only Ov now??!!" Having only had a light 2day period at 7weeks 2 day after ERPC, I have just been guessing/assuming when Ov would happen based on previous cycle Angry

So onto Dr Google I went. I previously thought 'EWCM' meant extra white creamy mucus Blush but having now read every several baby/pg/fertility websites, I now see it must mean Egg white cervical mucus. Duh. Feeling quite stupid now. Anyway, this is most def not EWCM. So, panic over .... sort of.

But then I remembered, the last time I remember having this CM of the exact same colour/consistency was during the the first few weeks of my last pg!! Totally getting way ahead of myself again, and have promised myself I won't POAS until Sunday (which would be CD 27, with ucl before MC being 27/28). Today I consider myself to be CD23, but having never felt the little pinch I think I could feel before at OV time, I have no clue whether I even Ov. Just assuming so Confused

Of course, I may well be metalling over nothing (turns up Rage Against The Machine album) but has anyone else ever had that thick creamy stuff in the very early stages of pg? I don't want to get my hopes up, but we all know the rockers on this thread are by far the best metallers around!!

PieMistress · 27/07/2011 14:25

summer my lps are usually pretty short but I ov'd 5 days earlier this cycle (?!) and the spotting started on 8dpo, last month it started on 10dpo with the witch in full force by 12dpo. I'm now on my 3rd day of it! I'm panicking that my hormones and body have all gone to whack and I'll never get pregnant again! I don't get PMS of any kind (not like I used to!), no sore boobs or anything. Am pretty sure i've got low progesterone levels but from what i've read they don't tend to do anything about it. Mmmmmm, all a waiting game and i'm no good at that!

Is AF now late for you?! POAS POAS POAS!!!!

Summerbird73 · 27/07/2011 13:31

pie i am spotting a little too but shit scared to POAS as i just know it means AF is on her fecking way, the old trout

how long are your LP's usually? do you think it is the dreaded witch visiting you too?

oh and BTW pie i told my friend about your funny status (remember when you were asking about her treatment and then how manyDPO i am in the same breath?!) she thought it was a hoot and keeps asking me about my DPO!!!!!! Grin

PieMistress · 27/07/2011 12:49

Whoop IQ, fab news Grin

Sorry for short post, short lunch today. I am 10dpo and still spotting (since 8dpo), its pinky/brown and on the TP. GRRRRR, WTF is going on!!! Couldn't help myself test this AM and it was big big fat fat BFN. Really don't know why I did though! Such a waste! I've never had spotting pre AF before until post m/c (now 2nd cycle), GAH!

Summerbird73 · 27/07/2011 11:44

eve how old is your DS? mine is 2 and i am wondering when he will start going to the dentist Smile

eve34 · 27/07/2011 11:24

Morning all.

Yay for IQ and junior IQ. Hang on in there. So pleased all was well. It must be such a roller coaster ride of feelings. Hope the next 30 weeks fly by.

Late to this - hope you are ok. I know I have already said this but it takes time. the day I went for my 12 week scan to be told i had MMC I organised child care op etc really up beatly!!!! Just took it on the chin as one of those things the next few weeks were very up and down, but now I can look forward and get back to it with a vengeance :-)

Poppy - hope you have a great few days sure you will have a fab time. Although camping in tent is not for me - we have dorms this weekend :-)

Baby - good news about the help arriving. Bet you can't well and week of 3 extra helpers is going to make such a difference.

Summer - glad you and DH had a good weekend sounds like a fair bit of drinking was done :-)

Blue - Hopefully AF is on her way out. Know how you feel thinking what if. Have family member due 2 days before me - and her face book updates reminder me every time. I am pleased for her she has been trying for a baby for 5 years and this one was her 3rd lot of IVF. Still smarts though.

Manda - what are you doing to us women...... hold on to a wee for 4 hours now and tell us.....

Hope everyone else is ok. The dentist went swimming well yesterday DS was the first in the chair and had a ball - you would of thought he was going to Florida he was so excited!!! Also lost 4 lb this week so a total of 40 lb now. Only another 20 to go. So it is a race to see if I get pg first or get to goal. Not sure which I want more!!!!!!

Best get on with some work I guess camp this weekend then a week off to recover can't wait!!

Summerbird73 · 27/07/2011 11:23

IQ you have brought a tear to my eye! Such wonderful news and congratulations on a healthy heartbeat! Smile Smile Smile

manda i got my BFP with DS with 7pm weewee! Just bloomin do it woman!

missg i agree - i have also been to Glasgow and much prefer Edinburgh, yep we found plenty of sources of Wine Wink

late i second the MC boards, they helped me through and you are still in such an early stage, come back when you are ready and we will keep the Brew warm for you - and depending on the time of day we shall have a Wine nicely chilled! Take lots of care and remember we are here for you Smile

well i am on full metalling mode now. I am 14DPO and CD24, so AF/POAS could come any day from now. I felt AF cramps yesterday and saw a tiny bit of brown spotting this morn, however nothing now, am sooo Confused I have said to myself that i am not POAS until Sunday as by then i shall be CD28/18DPO and i have never been later than that. Also i only have one CB digi left and DH will have a fit if i buy any more as i spent a fortune on them over the last two months.

Any room in the padded cell?????????

big waves to marathon blue whatso* poppy shimmery eve hobnob baby wow we really do have a metalling crew dont we?!

MarathonMama · 27/07/2011 11:17

Oh IQ your post made me cry, I'm so happy for you! The chance of mc after you've seen a hb is about 3% which is piddly so hopefully you can relax a bit now.

What's your due date based on the scan and how many weeks are you? Have you managed to contact DH?

You've spurred me on to call the midwives later although I think they'll tell me to bugger off for a few weeks.

Manda you're driving me potty lady. Will you please just hold it in for a few hours and than POA bloody S to put us all out of our misery.

Lady I agree with MissG, the miscarriage threads might give you some comfort until you're ready to think about trying again.

No symptoms here today Sad

OP posts:
whatsoever · 27/07/2011 11:02

IQ so so happy for you! Hang on in there IQ Junior Smile

Missgiraffe1 · 27/07/2011 10:57

Yeah IQ fab, fab news, so happy for you! And that is the right attitude to have. Today you are pg and your precious little bean is quite happily nestling in where he/she should be Smile Smile Smile But Confused to the mix up. I bet that didn't help with the anxiety! Have they given you a due date then?

BlueCrane · 27/07/2011 10:54

Oh IQ that is fantastic news!! SO SO Grin Grin for you!! Really made my day hearing your news! Angry at silly scan department though asking about nuchal etc...

manda d'oh!! Bet you're realy kicking yourself...could you just refuse to drink anything and try in a little while? Or have you decided to try and wait until tomorrow?!?

Missgiraffe1 · 27/07/2011 10:52

Lady Maybe the MC threads are the best place to be right now? I know I found the stories and experiences of what other women went through helpful in deciding what to do. I had an ERPC and it was quick, painless and - apart from the first couple of visits to the loo - I had very little bleeding afterwards (or pain for that matter). Take care, and we're not going anywhere, so hope to see you back when you're ready.

Manda !! What are you doing to us?? Are you going to wait until tomorrow now? You must be deep within the mosh pit and metalling like crazy!

IQ will be waiting to hear good news later. Glad you've got the support of your sis, even just going to the EPU, waiting in the waiting room, lying on the scan bed etc is horrible after you've been through a MC.

Blue Sad must be difficult working so closely with someone who's only a few weeks behind where you should have been, and might be harder when she starts spreading her good news. I still get little pangs of jealousy when I hear about, or see, yet another happy 12week scan Envy. I don't mean it, it's just there. Of course, I really am happy for the pg ones, as growing a baby is the most amazing and special thing, I just wish it was me. Am willing evil AF to take a hike and let you get down to it Grin

Hey Cuttle Double shifts? Yuck. Glad to hear you're doing well. How many weeks are you? (Feel free to ignore this question if you'd rather stay in denial for a bit longer Smile )

Summer your weekend sounds fab! My head office is in Edinburgh. I wasn't so keen on the city a few years ago (much preferred the buzz of Glasgow) but have grown to really like it. It has some really nice bars, which you obviously had no trouble finding Wine Wink . The 2 cities are so different, and can't really be compared. Me and DH went on the Glasgow bus tour when we came home from our hol (on our last day before DD came home). Was a laugh, as we pretended we were tourists and talked in German accents the whole way round (had gubbed a jug of sangria with our tapas lunch, and had a champagne cocktail too, so were slightly merry Grin )

Marathon I heard girls at bodypump last night talking about training for a half marathon, it made me think of you Smile

Hi Eve Whatso Shimmery Poppy Pie baby* Hobnob Mrsnesbit hope I haven't missed anyone. Have we lost Mrs N ? This new thread was started less than 72 hours ago and there are over 100 posts already. Maybe she tried to catch up and had to go for a rest Smile We don't half like to talk! Smile

InsomniaQueen · 27/07/2011 10:22

Gonna go back and read through but thought I should let you know how it all went - essentially all is fine, there is a bean and a heartbeat. For those who are interested please read on for my experiences of the scan department!!!!

We got to hospital an hour early (traffic around there is hideous and didnt want to miss my appointment) and in the end were seen pretty quickly. On arriving at the desk was asked whether I wanted a nuchal scan.....looked at nurse and said "those notes are for my last pregnancy, I had an mc and I'm pg again.....I'm here for an early dating scan". Her reply was "oh ok....not sure whats gone wrong here then". At which point I looked at my sister with my I don't believe it face. We sat down and waited and I got my tokens for pictures.

Went in was feeling really sickly by this point but midwife was really sweet. I asked if she had to do the internal but she said let's do the outside one first and go from there. Lying on my back saying prayers like you wouldn't believe and then the gel and the stick on my tummy......waiting to see if there was anything there......me closing eyes tightly sister leaning into the screen and threatening me to keep me calm.....then the midwife said "there you go" - I looked up and cried. There was my little bean and then she said hold still and she showed me the heartbeat. I have never been so pleased to see a little flicker in my life. Can't describe how good it felt.....after the bleeding, worrying about lack of symptoms and metalling there was my baby.

Trying not to get my hopes up still as we haven't got past the holy grail 12 week mark but have decided to TRY to chill - today I am pg and I couldn't be happier. Thank you for all your support and talking me down ladies you are all amazing!!!!

Now I must make a cup of tea and then I will catch up with the rest of the thread. Xxx

MandaHugNKiss · 27/07/2011 10:18

Gosh, and in my state of FFS! I forgot to say I'm thinking of you IQ and holding your virtual hand.

MandaHugNKiss · 27/07/2011 10:04

FFS! I am none the wiser. Why? I woke around 4.30am to temp. REalised my mouth had been open when I woke up (such a good look, no?) so when that temp was kinda lower than I'd have liked I silently cursed, but didn't worry too much... then as I was drifting off I decided to get up for a wee. And there went my fmu. Did. Not. Think.

GAH!

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 27/07/2011 08:14

thanks for all your lovely messages, I was actually already at home when I had my meltdown (just as well!) and DH came home to find me in bits on the sofa! We had a really good howl together and I think it did us both good.

Thanks for the link babysaurus I'm going to have a good look at that, I didn't realise I actually had any options here, I thought I was at the mercy of nature & the medics!

I'm really glad I've found this thread, have bookmarked it and will return once all this is over - while I'd love to be getting on with trying again, I physically can't do so just yet, so I'll come back when it's all settled a bit. Yesterday's emotional tidal wave surprised me somewhat and it's dawning on me that this is actually a longer and more complicated process than just being told you're mc one day, sorting it out and getting on with making a new one the next.

Thanks again, & see you in a couple of weeks Smile

BlueCrane · 27/07/2011 07:56

Thinking you may have left by now IQ but just wanted to say thinking of you lots!

manda how's that FMU doing?

late how are you feeling this morning?

I'd quite like AF to leave now so that I can start cracking on with this cycle and get some serious SWI in ...think AF has particularly made me realise how much I do want to conceive again! Also I think my secretary had her 12 week scan on Monday (not that I'm supposed to even know she's pregnant yet!) and am sure she's starting to show a bit...definitely in the chest area Shock as she's normally quite [ahem] small there, but as she's petite generally I think it's all starting to show...I seem to have a strange fascination with whether she's showing yet Blush maybe it's just me thinking of where I would've been up to and how it might've compared...think it would've been 20 week scan anytime nowish though I don't really want to go and check exactly Sad but onwards and upwards, must get on with the day and get myself off to work! Hope to hear some good news today!! Smile

MarathonMama · 27/07/2011 07:45

Keeping everything crossed IQ thinking of you lots.

OP posts:
Poppyjen · 27/07/2011 07:28

Good luck IQ we'll all be thinking of you Smile

InsomniaQueen · 27/07/2011 06:47

Well I managed to sleep - had a series of strange dreams where I worked at my old uni and had to manage the building of a power sub station.....not really sure what the heck that's about - then organised a reunion of my secondary school mates....this was nice but took place in Siberia...bit random and last dream is too rude to mention!!!

Other than a coughing fit at 1am I feel pretty rested - in fairness I had 2 naps yesterday so if I didn't feel rested I would assume there is something wrong with me. Just about to get up and start getting ready.....feeling really nervous about what today is going to bring. Sis has said that if it's too much I shouldnt look and she will watch out and tell me what's happening....I hope I'm not too frightened to look but who knows how I will react when I get there. She has also promised to shake/slap me if the need arises.....sometimes I wonder if she enjoys threatening me. I asked her yesterday and she said that "it's the only way to get through to you when your being hysterical".....my sis is nothing if not honest!!!

Keeping everything crossed that all is well and hoping that it's going to be good news - I'll let you know when I get back. Xxx

PieMistress · 26/07/2011 21:50

Welcome back summer glad you had a fab trip!

manda fingers crossed for a nice FMU line tomorrow!

IQ hope you get a decent nights sleep tonight and will be thinking of you tomorrow xx

Sorry for short post, bedtime!!! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

whatsoever · 26/07/2011 21:10

Poppy I love a bit of folk! Big fan of Seth Lakeman and Cara Dillon - are either of them playing?

Summer - sounds a great trip!

BlueCrane · 26/07/2011 21:06

Evening all...after all that mention of alcohol by summer i'm thinking a nice glass of Wine might be a good idea though it might send me right off to sleep! After busy day at work I'm trying to study as deadline looming...have made some progress though am now v v tired and have been a little distracted checking up on everyone here with so much going on today Blush

IQ really hoping you can sleep tonight and that all is well at your scan in the morning! Make sure your sis looks after you...though sounds as though she's pretty good at that!

manda how's that nice padded room we put you in earlier for your metalling before POAS again in the morning? Really hoping it's good news for you and not a cruel evap line playing havoc with your emotions!

marathon yeah for 11 hours sleep!! I wish...that sounds heavenly! My brain too full of work, studies, AF etc to relax enough for that much sleep...then again I suspect a small bean is helping you with all those zzzzz Wink

summer so glad you had a good weekend in Edinburgh...one of my favourite cities but just so far away from London which is pants! DH has never been to Scotland and I love it...need to get him to Edinburgh and up the West coast to explore all the places we used to go on hols when I was little!

Apologies to everyone else, a is as much as I can manage...brain officially mush...think I need some mindless TV before bed...

Summerbird73 · 26/07/2011 20:53

oh my life - i know i have been away for four days but i cannot keep up! so apologies as i have only skimmed the two threads; however, a big welcome to baby late and hobnob and big hugs to marathon and IQ - i shall be checking the thread tomorrow for IQ updates; just to say that i had light bleeding for a day with DS, and all was well, i am keeping everything crossed for you.

thank you for sharing your sad stories on addiction on the last thread, and am sorry there are some of us who have experienced this with family, i just wanted to echo your thoughts on the sad death of Amy Winehouse, i too am getting Angry at the insensitive comments on facebook. at the end of the day there is a father and a mother who tried everything they could within their power to get her out of the spiralling addiction. (her dad even begged the general public to stop buying her records or giving her awards).

anyway onto lighter subjects - DH and i had an amazing time in Edinburgh, we ate sushi, drank wine, shopped, drank champagne, drank gin, drank wine, drank beer (god we were dog rough!). and DS had a fab time with his nanna and grandad Smile

anyway - i shall try and catch up with the posts tomorrow so sleep well everyone xx
