Hello! Just miscarried and ready to start again, come and join us...

OP posts:
PieMistress · 19/09/2011 12:57

IQ I am so glad to hear your GP has signed you off! You really don't need added work stress at this time! Did you say you won't see your DH for another 10 weeks or did I misread that? Is he away with work? You will have a lovely big bump and some kicks for him to feel when he gets back!

blue your GP sounds lovely! snuggle up in your May hoodie and enjoy the cheese on toast!

summer I gave up caffeine after my m/c. I was having one cup of low caffeine coffee (it's a mix of decaff and normal filter from Taylors of Harrogate it's yummy) a day but the week preceeding the m/c I was having one cup of instant coffee a day as we were on hols. Whether or not this contributed i'll never know (unlikely but I've over-analysed everything!) so ever since I've not had any coffee or diet coke! I have caffeine red bush tea instead. God knows how I get through the day but am coping (just!). Not giving up chocolate though, that would be too silly! Are you off work today?

Well my temp shot up big time this morning but that might be because of a restless night with a bad dream! I took DS into nursery late today as I had a blood test appt and he was sobbing and very clingy when I left him! :( He is never normally like that and usually happy to run in and play with his friends so i'm not sure what's up. I nearly burst into tears myself :( :(

missg only 2.5hrs to go! you can do it! xxx

babysaurus · 19/09/2011 12:39

MissG I am holding your other hand. Good luck! Xxx

Summerbird73 · 19/09/2011 12:26

missg today is going to drag for you but there is no reason on earth why this scan should show anything other than your little bean bouncing around (or having a snooze if DS was anything to go by!). Sending you bucketloads of PMA

InsomniaQueen · 19/09/2011 12:13

MissG it is a bloody scary time so sending you all my best thoughts and PMA!!!! I agree with the other ladies distraction, distraction, distraction!!! Will be waiting for your update later today!!!

Well I must be feeling better pregnancy wise as I managed 3 breakfasts this morning: cereal then yoghurt and fruit then bacon roll. It was amazing and I'm currently thinking about what to eat now......I think mini iq is going through a growth spurt - that is my story and I'm sticking to it!!!!

BlueCrane · 19/09/2011 12:04

missg I can't imagine the nerves you are feeling...hang in there! Thinking of you!! I know I will be a disaster the day of my first scan, how you're feeling today is totally normal and understandable!!

I had good trip to the doc who said it's probably a combination of early preg symptoms with stuffy nose, tiredness etc and a cold topping it up so not to worry, keep fluids up, rest and take paracetamol if I need (no aspirin/nurofen though!) and he said that it's v unlikely that I could get a fever to hurt miniblue from a cold thing! He also said that whilst I was there he may as well do the midwife referral Shock and did put in the request for an 8w scan which I'm v pleased about...aaand he said I was 3+6 by his calcs and due 31st May Smile So pleased I stayed at home today though as helping me to chill a bit, but will def go back in tomorrow!

Right...cheese on toast time!

PieMistress · 19/09/2011 11:51

missg we are all here and thinking of you xxx Time will drag until your scan so try and busy yourself with a DVD box set :) xxx

MandaHugNKiss · 19/09/2011 11:41

missg Is there anything you can busy yourself with until you need to leave to go for your scan? I know I'm going to be a wreck before my first scan. I haven't got any great advice or reserves of PMA so I'll just hold your hand.

Missgiraffe1 · 19/09/2011 11:13

Morning,

Quick one. Scan today, terrified of lying on that bed and waiting for the sonographer to say something. DH working from home today, is being all PMA. Doing my head in. Wish I could fast forward to 3.30pm and to being handed my white blob photo and walking out of the EPU happy for once.

PMA has deserted me today, could just burst into tears Sad. Sorry for me me downer post.

babysaurus · 19/09/2011 09:33

Internet playing up, hence the lack of posts. Now writing second post on my phone - the first of which vanished into the ether.
This will havto be brief as its tricky catching up and then writing via my phone. Can someone add my details to the list - Babysaurus TTC#1, Cycle 1 (?), AF hopefully NOT due arout 11th October.

Blue - congrats!

Everyone else - hello! Will catch up propery when I can use the laptop again x

BlueCrane · 19/09/2011 09:10

Morning all...well, DH has insisted that I stay home today and go to the docs about this stupid sore throat/cold/fluey thing...I am in full metal mode about getting a fever and it affecting miniblue as I had a similar heavy cold etc around Easter which would've been when I was about 6 weeks and thus how far everything got before the MMC (ie at 12w they could only see 5-6w size sac) soooo I'm going to go an metal at the doc and see what they say...probably not much but we'll see...might make me feel better just to know I've seen them IYSWIM!

IQ so so glad your doc has signed you off and you can rest...glad the pain hasn't amounted to anything either! Your boss is just going to have to learn the hard way! Must be tough without DH - 10weeks to go still - not sure how I'd deal with that! I struggled when my DH was away for a week earlier in the year!

Anyway...must depart to the docs so will be back later...

InsomniaQueen · 19/09/2011 07:32

Hello out there - sorry I've been lurking but life at casa iq has been very stressful so been busy trying to 'pull myself together'. Ok a not so quick run down - work has continued to be insane and my boss has just ignored my pleas for help so I have been forced to seek medical advice as I was worried about mini iq. The Dr said it was 'unacceptable' for me to be made to feel like this and that my other medical problems and lack of DH should show them that I need support....the Dr said "right enough is enough" and signed me off - so no work this week and then she will decide if I'm ready to return!!! Have taken myself down to see my foster parents and in laws so I don't have to do too much and its helped my back loads so currently without crutches as long as I don't over do it. I went shopping with MIL and SIL on saturday and then had a horrible pain in my tummy so obviously was panicking - didn't wanna let on too much as SIL was due to drop any day. I rang the midwife and she said "get an emergency appointment and get checked out" so then went to full metal mode! Rushed back from shopping went straight to the local maternity centre and was checked over - they listened for mini iq's heartbeat (took ages to find and the worst was feared) but EVENTUALLY she found it and all seemed well. I was told to drink plenty and rest which is basically what I've been doing. So, much improvement but still worrying what might have caused the pain....have been sleeping with a pillow wedged under my tummy since then to support my bump which has made a difference to my sleep overall and the pain hasn't returned. My gramps asked me what he should be buying for the baby and I was like "whatever you like"....he suggested he get me some condoms as I didn't want to get pregnant again too quickly (practical man my gramps...he he he) but I said I didn't mind too much and really just because you plan an age gap doesn't mean you get it or that you get pg and end up with a baby really quickly afterwards!! So he is going to buy me nappies, creams, wipes ect as "it will save us a few bob"....as I said practical man my gramps but I bloody love it!!! DH is doing well which is good but not back for another 10ish weeks. I was chatting away to him the other night when he said how much he missed me and had been saving all his kisses up for mini iq.....I thought how cute - next sentence out of his mouth "god I can't wait to get you in bed" - I politely explained that his not being able to wait to get me in bed was how we got here in the first place - his reply "I know and I love it"....nothing if not consistent that man!! SIL has started to 'trickle' her waters so she has 48 hours to get the baby out or their going to induce so keeping my fingers crossed that the baby gets a wriggle on! So there you have my last 4 days in a nutshell....right me me me is done onto a catch up with you lovely ladies!!

Firstly huge congratulations to blue...Grin.....always love some BFP news - just take it each day at a time and really spoil yourself for a few weeks!! Just read back through the posts and saw that you were hoping for a mini blue bump before your niece arrives - what a different a few days make!!!

poppy bloody pants no O yet...keeping fingers crossed it comes soon. I'm not allowed to iron anything belonging to DH as he does it "properly"....which suits me and when he is doing his stuff for a night out I look helplessly at him and the iron and he does my outfit as well....seven years and it still works Wink!!

pie fully agree on the 'natural' birth thing....as long as the baby made it ok and you were ok a good job was done....bloody people!!!

baby hope your doing well and haven't had anymore emergency diy incidents. How is the house coming along?

summer I had the same with my DH...he banned testing and even took away all my IC's so I wouldn't be tempted - but then I was bribed with a holiday....could you get a bribe as well to help you manage it? Like nails done or something nice just for you!! Bless them though for being sweet. Also thanks for the BF advise I definitely want to do it but know that not everyone can and so am trying to be practical about it and not just say "I won't do one or the other" as its better to feed something than for them to go hungry!!

missg hope all is well with mini g and sending you lots of lovely positive thoughts for your cousin and her DS. Told my sister you had referred to her as 'sending in the heavies' she now wants me to buy her a t-shirt that says security on the back....he he he!!!

manda so glad to see a nice progression forwards with your weeks - it does settle the nerves (a little) to know that weekly things are moving on!!

pebs how are you getting on? Sorry the Dr was crap - hopefully the consultant will have something to say to you!! Hope your holiday was a good time to relax.

eve hope disneyland paris was amazing and it gives you some time to wind down if not rest....school will work out it might just take a while to settle.

marathon hope your doing well...a friend 'announced' on facebook and I was like how the heck can people be so brave?? She asked me why I haven't said anything so I lied and said I was waiting for DH to come home - I'm not ready to be out of the baby closet nor am I ready to take my head too far out of the sand - is this going to get easier? I'm kind of hoping so!!

boob glad to see you back. Have you been to the Dr yet or are you still holding out? Don't stress about it though, just take it at your own pace!! Xx

shimmery any news on the TTC front? Your poor cat...hope he is steadily improving!! Sorry you don't feel like its your month - sending you positive thoughts though.

Right I must of got everyone now....whew!! Suppose I better get up and put the dog out and feed my always empty stomach....coco pops aren't exactly part of a balanced diet but I do really enjoy them!! Love to all!!!

poppy i am uuuber excited for Downton Abbey tonight too. I only just caught up on the first series so it is all fresh in my mind. I was sooo Sad about Cora's MC though, that made me just want to rip Miss O'Brien to pieces Angry

i asked DH if i could POAS tonight, he looked v Sad and said that after two MCs a lot has changed this year, my heart went out to him and i have promised to leave it until saturday... it is gonna kill me and he said that ultimately it is my decision, but his little face - bless him!

Poppyjen · 18/09/2011 19:18

HI ladies hope the weekend has been a good one for you all Smile

Blue congratulations that is fantastic news! Grin So pleased for you!

manda to answer your O question, unfortunately still no temp rise although today and yesterday I had the telltale spotty forehead thing going on, as well as what I think is my most EW EWCM if you see what I mean. Well I will be getting down to some serious ironing tonight whilst watching Downton Abbey (or Spooks, maybe both using the magic of the interweb...) This is surely why they have Sunday night drama - its the only way DH shirts get ironed (by me at any rate) Blush

sorry if i have missed anyone, the above is better than putting CD/DPO as we get a bit lost off IYSWIM. Let me know if you are happy to do this

Summerbird73 · 18/09/2011 17:34

actually not gonna test today as i have 2/3 of a bottle of marlborough sauvignon in the fridge! lets just hold off a little while... Wink

Summerbird73 · 18/09/2011 17:29

OH

MY

GOOOOOOOOOOOODDD!

blue massivo congratulations! now you have got me all twitchy, i have the snuffles and wanted to take antihistamines this morn but have held off, i did think of POAS just to check but am only CD23 and 11DPO, DH will have a fit if i test now... but then we ARE cycle buddies so maybe that is a sign Hmm

sorry i derailed that there!! big big big congrats to you and MrCrane and yes paracetomol is fine, in fact i would go for aspirin instead as there is some research i think which confirms that aspirin is good at warding off a MC but by god dont quote me on that!

missg sending the hugs to Baby R xx

MandaHugNKiss · 18/09/2011 10:54

Hey, hey, hold the June Massive hoody, missG ... blue may actually be with us May, uh, dudes? I'm literally lol'ing here as I tried to think of a suitable name (and failed!). DP just looked at me and said 'Mumsnet?' Grin I'm still thinking positive thouhts for your tiny cousin. I hoe they can get him to turn a corner really soon.

blue Huuuuuuuuuuge congrats! You're probably 10dpo as per your original calculation I've had positives at 10 and 11 dpo now so it's certainly not unheard of and just - YAY!

shimmery You're right, I've spent A Lot but I got my 3+ reading on the cb digi yesterday and I took it at 22dpo (5+1) so I really seem to be on track and can't ask for any more at this point. I feel ready to step away from the sticks. Even though I have one left... Grin

pie I hope your cd21 shows better results this month - even though I disagree with their conslusion that you hadn't O'd last month Hmm Have you printed out your chart to show them?

Speaking of O, did your egg make its appearance, poppy?

Um, what else? I know I was meaning to say stuff. Oh, happy holidays to peb

That's it - I am not 'with it' and since I switched to decaf coffee I'm not likely to be with it any time soon! So

Missgiraffe1 · 18/09/2011 09:15

Omg!!! blue amazing news!! Massive congratulations!
Hope you're snuggled up in your June hoodie. Fabulous fabulous fabulous!!! smile I knew this would be a good month!! X

PieMistress · 18/09/2011 08:55

FANTASTIC NEWS blue woweeeeeee :) :) :) Paracetamol is fine in pregnancy BTW (probably one of the few things that is!) Hope you feel better soon and big Grin for you & DH! XXX

BlueCrane · 18/09/2011 08:45

Ok, quick post but I just HAD to tell you what has just happened...crazy busy weekend and yesterday was feeling so so tired and then by the evening I had a really sore throat, got v emotional with DH etc. Woke up this morning and throat still sore, feel like gunk running down back of my throat the whole time and so tired still. Just thought I'd better POAS before I drugged myself up with pills aaaand...faint BFP on my IC so did a CD Digi with the same pot of pee and came up BFP 1-2 weeks Grin woke DH to tell him! We're both so so hpapy but also a bit Shock as it's only CD25 so wasn't expecting a result yet as AF didn't come until CD30 or 31 last month!!! So now wondering whether I'm still ok to take paracetamol, guess I am really! Oh, and I had my launch party for the Jamie direct sales stuff last night so now going to be doing my first season of that in first trimester which could be interesting Hmm BUT that's a good problem to have so am not going to worry about it!! As I said before, I'd much rather have that problem than not!

Right, must go, another far too busy day ahead! But I am Grin Grin at the moment!

PieMistress · 17/09/2011 17:45

summer I know EXACTLY what you mean! I must admit I can't believe how ignorant I was first time round with DS about potential problems. The mc has made me look at every baby being born as such a miracle (even more so than I did IYSWIM)

missg thinking of baby R and hoping everything is getting better. A friend's baby had a blood transfusion yesterday (aged 2 months), she has been in hospital every since she was born, poor toot. Their son was born with a very rare chromosomal disorder and they had a 50% of it happening again. They found out at the amnio that their 2nd child also had the same disorder :( It's really very humbling. Thinking also that your friend gets well soon xxx

I'm not due to test for a week! Have another CD21 blood test on Monday though, fingers crossed it will be better than last month which wasn't good :( I do think I have low progesterone though. I did get a CD21 taken the month I was pg and it was 41 at 10dpo which I think is quite low and I can't help but wonder if that's why I miscarried. Guess i'll never know and despite my frantic googling can't find out how to get a private prescription if I do get pg again!

Somebody else posted this on another thread I sometimes lurk on:
www.leader.co.za/article.aspx?s=43&f=1&a=3090
I blubbed big styleee!

Summerbird73 · 17/09/2011 15:38

oh god missg i was just thinking the other day when my friend had her DD, that i am in awe of people (a)getting pregnant (b)making the bean stick and (c)having a 'healthy' baby. i know that term is taboo but YSWIM. Sending the PMA to your nephew and your inspirational friend Smile

Missgiraffe1 · 17/09/2011 15:29

Me too Summer, any left??

Happy weekend everyone. Sorry, not got time to name check as heading out shortly to visit my (hugely inspirational) friend who was in hospital having a stent inserted. She has CF, and she turned 38 in June. 38 is the average life expectancy for someone with CF btw. But.... she is amazing, Until recently, she has been climing Munroes (a group of Scottish mountains), running, body combating etc. Has had to slow down recently due to a bad chest infection and her lung capacity being down to only 28% Sad (which is the reason she had the stent fitted, so she can inject stuff into lungs directly by herself when she needs to - I think!) but I know she'll be back to her usual fun and nonsense soon. Smile

We Baby R not doing too good Sad. He keeps improving then when they take him out of the lights, the levels shoot back up again to worse than before. My Aunt's text this morning said that his levels are critical, but too high to do a transfusion just now. Aaaargh! I don't really know what that means and I don't want to pester them by asking too many questions!

Hope you all have a lovely Saturday. Smile Any testing going on over the next few days?? Hmm
