Hello! Just miscarried and ready to start again, come and join us...

OP posts:
Boobeez · 05/08/2011 08:37

I know what you mean about avoiding testing early babysaurus. It would save some heart ache. Shame I have zero will power though!! DH said I should challenge myself to leave it as late as possible to test and to buy a test in three months... As if!

Boobeez · 05/08/2011 08:25

Cupcakes for iamamummy and babysaurus coming right up! My miscarriages were v early the first one was 6 weeks, but doc thought it had happened earlier and the second one was at 5 weeks :( Trying hard to be positive and look forward. The doctor didn't want to do any tests yet and said that they wait for 3mc before investigating.. Stupidly did a test again this morning and got a bffn. Don't really know where my cycle is at the moment, so will try to chill out a bit. Easier said than done eh?!

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 05/08/2011 07:57

Well, I raised the flag last night and got the first time post-ERPC done and out of the way - found it surprisingly emotional... (like a lot of thinks at the moment!) The bleeding has stopped, the opk sticks were showing a surge so we thought 'what the heck' and went for it. I think you're right IQ, if my body's up for it then it'll happen, if it's not ready yet then it won't. And if the opk sticks are picking up stray hormones then I was never in with a chance anyway, but have cleared a hurdle in the meantime. It's all good Grin AND it's Friday!

whatsoever · 04/08/2011 23:07

baby on a thread where we regularly discuss the contents of our knickers I don't think there is such a thing as a TMI question! Wink

My bleeding/spotting/general slightly gunky brown discharge went on for quite a while after my ERPC. To the extent that we planned to start TTC as soon as the bleeding stopped and we actually only DTD once before my AF arrived. At one point it stopped for a few days but while my DH was away - we then went away for a few days together and as soon as we got to the cottage again (i.e. in my mind SWI central) the bleeding started again.

So based on that experience I think the first month can just be a pain in the fanjo.

babysaurus · 04/08/2011 22:45

Ooooooh, a cupcake sounds good from this end too!

iamamummy · 04/08/2011 21:54

Boobeez (love the name lol) sorry to hear of your mc's. Have they all been fairly early on? Are you going for any tests?
We will only wait until the bleeding stops before we start to ttc again. Last time it took 13 months and I became very obsessive with temping, using every thing under the sun to get that bfp. I just hope I can keep my cool this time Grin

Ohh can't say no to a cupcake or twoWink

babysaurus · 04/08/2011 21:51

Hello everyone,
I have had a read through and am finding myself swamped as so much seems to go on and change on an almost hourly basis! So, I apologise in advance if I miss anyone or anything major, or get the wrong person for something - it's not on purpose (although am also sipping wine as I drink this which probably ain't going to help!)

So, Summer, I just want to say how fab you seem to be being about everything. I had a MMC spotted at 12 week scan so cannot say how I would feel if I miscarried so soon after getting the BFP but am guessing it's just as shit but in a different way. Sometimes I think it might have been easier before we could buy early tests etc so not actually know we were pregnant. Obviously, nobody forces anyone to test early either, but, frankly, I'd never be able to stop myself. The friend I keep mentioning (well, have in past posts) had a ERPC and then an early miscarriage (week after the BFP) but managed to get pregnant the month after. Hopefully the same will happen to you too. In the meantime, have some of my Wine

Marathon I too shall be on tenterhooks to hear how it went on Saturday. I have everything crossed! I was quite laid back about my first, only, scan (where they spotted the MMC) but now know that with any subsequent scans I'd be a gibbering idiot! Maybe I need to borrow IQ's sister to talk some sense into me too!

Manda how many tests do you actually own? Are you on 20 a day?! I have been tempted before with the First Response but, after reading the back of the package, managed to hold off a while as not everyone gets a BFP so early on and I didn't want to think I wasn't when I actually was (not that that ever actually happened in the end.)

Late welcome back from me too. I never ended up having the ERPC in the end as things started to happen on their own, but was desperate for it to be over as it felt as if I could start trying again, which was far more positive.

Can I ask a TMI ucky question, please? How long did everyone take to stop bleeding or having anything iffy going on? I ask as I am still, only very slightly, getting brown stringy bits when I wipe occassionally and it's now been three weeks since I came out of hospital. I have no idea what may, or may not, be happening cycle wise at the moment and while it is still early days I was thinking I might be getting a bit more back to normal. Confused!

DH is getting on my nerves a bit at the moment. As well as his obsessional attention to irrelevant detail re the decorating (spending hours perfecting things that nobody will ever see - like getting beading to sand, prime then paint to go at the bottom of the skirting boards so there is a perfect line between that and the floorboards - instead of the current 'almost perfect- BUT WE STILL DONT HAVE A BATHROOM) he keeps making 'jokey' comments about kids / teenagers (ie 'are you sure you want kids?' when some walk past being noisy or something and saying how irritating or whatever they can be.) I got a bit ratty with him today and asked him if he found his DS 'bloody irritating' a few years ago (his DS is now 19) and he then seemed to realise what I was saying. All kids, and adults, can be irritating especially if you look for something irriating about them.

I hope I am not making him sound like a twat. He's not really, I think I am just venting about his negative bits.

Hello to the newbies, Boobeez and Iamamummy - this is a lovely thread and it's so nice to talk to people who can empathise with everything. People I know in RL often can't, or don't know quite what to say.

Right, I know I have forgotten people - will endeavour to keep up properly in future! I am now officially working from home (ie have a studio, albeit a makeshift one while we get the other rooms in the house done) so can read and post from there all the time and do no bloody work.

Boobeez · 04/08/2011 21:37

Thanks whatsoever. Message boards like this do help loads. Took a test today and was v surprised to get a bfn. Have had so many funny tummy twinges and my boobs ( sorry to keep going on about them- I'm worse than a teenage boy) have developed weird bumpy lines. Have another test which I have stashed away, but may resort to using it tomorrow... Will update if I do.

Hello to iamamummy. How long are you going to wait until ttc? My doctor is super nice and said that there was no need to wait and that she hoped to see me at the end of the Summer with some good news. Let's hope we all get some good news soon.

Cupcake anyone? x

BlueCrane · 04/08/2011 19:20

grrrr...just wrote a long message and MN ate it Sad will have to check back on later as I have to get on with my studies...sorry all, had nice little messages written to you and it's all gone!

whatsoever · 04/08/2011 18:51

boobeez and iamamummy so sorry for losses but welcome aboard

No amount of boob prodding or sign spotting is discouraged here, optimism is (mostly) the name of the game.

Boobeez · 04/08/2011 17:18

Hello girlies. Can I join you guys? Have had 2 early miscarriages since March and am waiting for af, but have managed to convince myself I might be pregnant this month... Have developed an unhealthy obsession with checking my boobs for soreness or signs! Am going to go and make some cupcakes now :)

iamamummy · 04/08/2011 15:26

Hi ladies,
Do you mind if I join? I am currently going through my second miscarriage. The pregnancy was unexpected but then again we wasn't being overly careful so I guess it was to be expected at somepoint. I don't want to feel all down in the dumps so thought I would join you all and look to the future. I have had 3 weeks to come to terms with this loss as scans had not shown a great deal of growth and accompanied by bleeding deep down I knew it wasn't meant to be Sad

This is my fourth pregnancy and second loss. I had a mmc with my first baby at 12 weeks which went awfully wrong with infections, recovery etc it then took 13 months to conceive ds1 who is now 3.5 years old and I have ds2 who is 22 months.
I look forward to getting to know you all Smile

X

MandaHugNKiss · 04/08/2011 15:20

IQ When will I test? oh, not for daaays yet... I mean, it would be silly to test from now, only 7 dpo, right?

Grin

ok, I'll come clean. I tested this morning, bfn. The earliest I've had a bfp is 10 dpo, but it was super faint. So... lets say in 3 or 4 days, I'll be testing more seriously (as apposed to not seriously which it is now - I just can't resist, even though I'm sure it'll be bfn as you read about women getting their bfp this early!)

Still, I had a breakfast of oats, probiotic yoghurt and strawberries, yet I felt starving by lunch (unusual for me - I often skip brekkie and feel just about ready to eat by about 2pm). Stuck a pizza in the oven, ate it and as I ot to the last bite I suddenly came over like I was gonna throw it up. I ran to the toilet and wasn't actually sick but had a spinning feeling for a moment before gagging for a few minutes. this is conclusive proof of pregnancy I'm probably coming down with something. yes I am. It's called being pregnant

Grin Grin

Do hope you feel a bit better though, IQ. I'm not trying to dismiss your feelings at all but y'know 'morning sickness' or early pregnancy in general can make you feel decidedly weird/off/ill. Hope that's all it is for you.

whatso I know you'd not thought about orange wednesday (you text orange from your orange ohone (cost 35p) and they send you a 2 4 1 code that also works in pizza express (I think it's 2 4 1 pizza plus a free garlic bread. DD is on orange.) but don't be afraid of goin solo to the flicks. I LOVE it. Sure it's nice to fight over share your popcorn and have the person with you ask inane questions during the film about the plot to talk about the movie after, but there's something great about being on your own and immersing yourself in the film. Definitely DO IT! As for DH, have you seen a film called Oldboy? I'm picturing a certain scene and your DH now... wait, it's bound to be on youtube. Yup.

summer No apologies for the swearing. A) we're all adult (and it IS MN and NOT NM) and B) it sounds warranted.

It's frustrating. SOunds like you'll just have to chalk it up as one of those things you'll never see eye to eye on although I know how hurtful it is when all you want is to feel that they love you and are sorry for your hurt. Definitely vent here!

And as I get to this point, everything else I wanted to say has vanished from my mind... and I seem to have a crampy feeling. PREGNANT, I TELLS YOU!
(seriously, I'm not really getting my hopes too high so don't worry about me crashing when af arrives with her suitcase!)

OH! marathon I'm so glad you're goin for a scan. My fngers are tightly crossed that it will be reassuring rather than any bad news you'd rather be blissfully unaware of.

InsomniaQueen · 04/08/2011 13:35

totally forgot in my catch up to say how crappy im feeling today - woke up and felt ok but as the day has gone on i feel all weak, bit headachy, tired....not sure if this is just the pg or something is really wrong. really want to ring the MW but feel im being silly......i cant put my finger on whats wrong but i can say definitely that i just dont feel right!

really hoping this is nothing to worry about but know that its gonna be on my mind now until my next scan which is aboout 2 weeks away.......ohhhhh god why cant this be easier!!!!

whatsoever · 04/08/2011 13:32

Hi all!

marathon I think (I'm not on Orange so I might have this wrong) if you are on Orange you get a text every Wednesday which gives you 2 for 1 at the cinema, so you can take someone and its effectively half price. I don't go to the cinema very often so I always forget about this! Best of luck for your Saturday scan.

I've been out for holiday money this lunchtime (yippee!). Going round to our friends' tonight to meet their newborn. They don't know about the MMC and I don't think I'll say, it sort of puts a downer on meeting new babies. They are lovely people but in common with other people who get pg easily (pg within a couple of months of getting married, the secong before first child was 2) they tend to ask when we want to have children, as if it will happen as soon as we desire it...

InsomniaQueen · 04/08/2011 13:15

blue - yay for the end of your AF (hopefully)?.and yes please for some chocolate cake?just had a subway and feel hungry again!!! My ever expanding tummy is bloating from my ?sluggish? digestive system?..i normally have a very flat stomach and so being sat on the sofa yesterday in a bikini trying desperately to keep cool whilst DH looks at me in horror was disconcerting to say the least!!!

missG - when I read that your DD was 15 I had a little giggle.....for some reason I just assumed that she would be little!!! Plus sorry the evil AF got you as well?..that makes a number of you all going into the 2ww at the same time over the coming weeks.

manda - ok I will let you off being a tease if fertility friend is being annoying ? so when would you normally test?..that way I know how long I have to wait!!!

pie - I hope that the acupuncturists work something out for you?..keeping fingers crossed for positive results.

marathon - thai food?.yummie!!! ok well we shall be waiting on tenterhooks on Saturday for your news. I have now had my 12 weeks week scan letter (10th September)?.praying that we get there!!! Pad thai?.make mine a large please!!!!

summer - I love the way you apologised for being busy at work rather than being busy on MN??I believe we should be worried about work but then I think ive given up with work at the moment, MN and you ladies are so much more interesting. Morning kitchen is a life saver?.now I just need to convince DH that his beer fridge would serve me better as a place to keep my water cool and everything would be amazing!!! Bloody Dr?s and mothers ? drive me insane?..i just wish they understood how much TTC and pg can take over your every waking thought maybe they would actually think before they say things to you ? like the lovely Dr who when I got pg again and told her about the previous MC said ?well its very common so you just have to try to put the pg to the back of your mind and not let it worry you?? Hmm..yeah right or my mother who said ?well at least it happened now and not later??.Angry.....I lost my temper and shouted back "really - well I just wished it hadn?t happened at all" - you can imagine thinsgs were a little fragile for a while!!!

cuttle fully agree on the fridge (try argos that?s where I got mine from). As for shopping online I have been lucky that my sister has been around to come with me and help with bags ect when DH was away. Once he goes I will back to online cos I just cant carry the stuff!!! I?m having a private scan done on the 17th (scared but excited) so DH can see biscuit before he goes away - just hoping all is still ok in there.

whatso raw octopus?..sick face!!! He he he. Sorry you couldn?t see your movie ? don?t worry it will be on DVD soon enough.

late welcome back?.glad that the ERPC went well (IYSWIM) and that your not suffering too much. Im going to go with my gut and say its all in your hands. The best advise given to me by the Dr was that ?it will only happen if your body is ready??..so if your body is ready to ?lay and egg? (brilliant image by the way) then it will, you may or may not become pg and both of these scenarios are something to think about.

shorty welcome to the thread?..i agree with the resident test expert (summer) depending on what your using you may or may not get a positive. I used an IC 3 days overdue and got a faint positive, used CB digi and got a result straight away.

Waves to baby, eve (hope holiday is going well), shimmery and farfallarocks?whew I think I got everyone!!!!

MarathonMama · 04/08/2011 12:52

Hello ladies, sorry for being AWOL, my wireless has been down and I've been all jittery without my hourly dose of the fabulous metalling thread Grin

So, I booked with the midwives this morning. I had the same midwife I had last time and she clearly knew she'd seen me before and kept saying congratulations again until I told her about the mmc. The appointment wasn't any shorter, she had to put all the info into the system all over again (note to David Cameron, I see an efficiency saving here). I'm a bit concerned because at my last booking appointment I had raised leukocytes (sp?) in my urine and the baby must have died around the time of that appointment. I have raised leukocytes again now and need some more tests so am totally paranoid I'm going to mc again. The midwife was reassuring but couldn't really say what it means, apart from that it can be a sign of infection.

I've also bitten the bullet and arranged a scan for Sat. I phoned to book an appointment in a few weeks but the consultant is going away for 4 weeks so can only do this Sat or in 5 weeks time. Eek!

Hello Shorty keeping everything crossed for you!

IQ glad your biscuit is making life difficult, such a good sign. With my mmc I was still wearing my skinny jeans at 13 weeks and I thought I was doing so well and would wear my bump just like all those skinny schelbs who barely put on a pound. Hmm Can we add "Jelly Belly Rules" to our mantras?

Blue Woohoo to AF buggering off... now on to business...

Whatso DH and I went to see Bridesmaids last night, what a coincidence! DH quite enjoyed it but he was the only bloke in the cinema, he said it had enough toilet humour (literally) to keep him amused, so you may find your DH enjoys it too. The cinema was absolutely chocca with queues into the car park and now I understand why. Do you get free tickets on Orange Weds? Luckily I'd booked in advance.

Summer sorry to hear about the lack of understanding from the olds. They really are clueless sometimes. Hope you're still feeling eye of the tiger and are ready to get back on the wagon soon.

shouts hello to everyone I missed! Pad Thai all round....

OP posts:
BlueCrane · 04/08/2011 11:05

Morning all...anyone for chocolate cake...need to share the large cake brought in by a colleague this morning before I guzzle it all!!

whatso I also had similar weight gain for what turned out to be food related reasons rather than mini-blue! IQ am sure it was an interesting sight of you hopping around in too tight dress! I had that happen in a changing room at Debenhams once and was contemplating having to ask the assistant to help when I managed to work my way free Blush

summer so sorry to hear about your conversation with your Mum...mine was a bit similar with my MMC...she'd never heard of an MMC before and really couldn't get her head around it at all...to the point where I think she was wondering if I'd actually been pregnant at all and referred several times to it not really being a baby even though I kept reminding her that it was the start of life etc etc!! I can't imagine not knowing until 8 weeks+ but maybe we now live in a time where everything is instantaneous and so we're less patient?! But then once you do know you do make a space in your life/start planning etc etc as others have said so the loss is still very real! Hope you're doing ok today?

I think...hopefully...that AF might have finally departed...had some brown when I wiped this morning (sorry TMI!) but no more spotting Smile and at CD12 I should hope so!! Not going to manage any SWI until Saturday though due to DH's shifts but no sign of any EWCM so not too stressed about waiting. Had another friend announce her pg last night - she knows about the MC so was v sweet and rang me to tell me rather than me find out at her BBQ on Saturday and said she totally understands if I don't feel I can go etc. Said she's only 8 weeks but showing already so they've had to tell everyone (it's DC3 for her) seems quite early so really hope it all works out ok for them!

Must get back to work so

whatsoever · 04/08/2011 09:20

IQ you have given me a few smiles with your hopping round in a too-tight dress image! Also makes me laugh because when I was pg DH (and he was right in my case it turned out) had a theory that I was getting biggger due to the food baby and not the real baby, so "blame it on the biscuit" had an entirely different meaning in my case Grin

Hoep you enjoy your works meal.

InsomniaQueen · 04/08/2011 08:41

Morning all,

I will catch up properly later but just wanted to entertain you with my current life......I have a works meal tonight and so was looking for something to wear. I tried on 6 dresses all were too small - I actually got stuck in one and got to the point where I thought I would have to get DH to cut me out of it (image of me hoping around the spare room in dress stuck around my shoulders and neck and totally covering my face) - everything seems to be too small in the bust and the arms......I was fully prepared for this but not really right now. Have managed to find something which fits up top and conceals my growing tummy - thank god!!!!

Went in to say bye to DH and told him of my outfit escapades and his reply was "don't blame me blame the biscuit".....it's the first time he has refered to mini IQ by the name I've given them and has made me slightly weepy.....really what is the world coming to when despite having 2 wardrobes of clothes I can't find anything to wear.....I feel a shopping trip coming on!!!!!

Speak later xxxx

whatsoever · 03/08/2011 22:37

Shorty welcome back

Summer sorry to hear your mum pissed you off. Didn't get to see a film Sad Got to the cinema (Trafford Centre btw) and it was rammed. Queued for 10 minutes to find Bridesmaids had sold out so gave up and left - didn't fancy anything else. Then checked twitter and someone had warned me it was Orange Wednesday and would be chocka - Doh! Wish I'd checked before I left. Never mind.

babysaurus · 03/08/2011 22:23

Hello all,
So sorry I have been unable to post. We are trying to sort out the house (well, now we have a finished bedroom, sort out other rooms in the house in a temporary way as much as possible - we both work from home you see) and I am frigging knackered now!
I have only skimmed through today's posts as my eyes are closing but will try and read properly, and respond, tomorrow where I am more likely to get the right person / details and so on.
Night all! x

shorty100 · 03/08/2011 22:17

Summerbird know how you feel about people being unsympathetic, I have no one to really talk to about it. Dh says I am being impatient and what will be will be which drives me crazy. I'll send you a virtual hug x

shorty100 · 03/08/2011 22:13

Well my cycles are still all over since mc, but going on last month my af is due on monday.

I have been spotting last 2 days so think if I haven't started by friday theres a good chance I could be pregnant.

I just did a really cheap one as I didn't expect it to be positive.

Summerbird73 · 03/08/2011 21:59

[lush]??? i meant Blush
