Hello! Just miscarried and ready to start again, come and join us...

MandaHugNKiss · 06/08/2011 09:18

missG So, so tough to pass 'sad' anniversaries - perhaps moreso the first one. Sending you strength and serenity.

marathon My thoughts are so with you. I'm totally counting down the two hours until your scan Postive vibes, positive vibes!

Well, I've had the advance call from my dear aunt - temp crashed even further, way past the coverline so af will be here some time this morning I expect. 8 day lp this time. Fgs, my lps have always been spot on (af arriving on 15dpo) so this is sooooo... ugh. I know I should go to the dr but I can just imagine them wafting me away with a 'wait and see' and I've been waiting and seeing already. I think, too, in the uk we're not as proactive managing a short lp as our american cousins - everything I read on their forums, women are nstantly prescibed progesterone to at least give any potential pregnancy a chance. So, it doesn't address the cause, but I want my effect sorted!

Just wanna be back to normal. I really, really do. I feel a bit lost.

jambowolf · 06/08/2011 08:17

thanks all. Nice to know I'm not alone in being increasingly screaming mental neurotic over the 2ww.
summer - one of my friends declared that I was lucky to have my 2nd mc before 6 weeks as i would be over it in no time! I think I gritted my teeth a lot that day...
marathon I've read back a few messages. Good luck for your scan today.

I shall be falling off the wagon today, in style, after remaining mostly alcohol free for the last 3 weeks EVEN whilst on holiday.

babysaurus · 05/08/2011 23:43

Am slightly pissed again so sorry again for anything missed out.

Thanks to those who told me what their spotting etc was like post MC.

Marathon good luck and loads of love for tomorrow!

DH redeemed himself a bit today - was watching Outnumbered this eve and he said, about Karen the youngest one, 'do you want one like that?' but then added 'I know I do'. This is progress indeed!

Will go now as a bit tiddly tired

Night all x

Summerbird73 · 05/08/2011 21:50

oh crikey i have been off line for 2 days and i too cant keep up! sorry for not name checking but welcome to the newbies, so sorry for the reason you are here but we are a fab thread and everyone is absolutely supportive, i have gone through it again this last week and these guys have been amazing Smile

IQ i think it was you that said that your mum said 'well at least it happened now and not later' well that is EXACTLY what my mum said this week - i too wanted to lamp her one!

marathon i am keeping everything crossed for tomorrow - and shall jump on here when i can to check up on you - all the best mate [mumsnetty hugs on their way]

today was my first friday off (which explains my absence from MN!) and i had two playdates - the first one was odd as both of my friends are PG Sad i didnt tell them about Monday as no preggy woman wants to hear that their friend has miscarried! however me and pickle (me boy) have had a wonderful day.

i spoke to my mum again last night and decided not to confront her about being bloody useless! she said 'have you had a better day' i said i had and she said 'so you are moving on then? good' FFS what is the point!

anyway - i will try and do a proper catch up later on but big waves to you all x

whatsoever · 05/08/2011 18:46

MissG sending some sympathy your way, anniversaries can be very tough

Jambo welcome and sorry for your losses

eve34 · 05/08/2011 18:20

Just a quick one :-)

Have read but it has not sunk in. Just to say hello, welcome newbies, sorry you have had to join us, but in time it will get easier and we will soon all get our bfp.

Had lovely few days in Skeg. Have drives bloody miles and I am finally home, washing on, about to colour my hair and have a night out tonight.

Af has finished - have always had 4 day periods so think we are back to normal, part of me is very excited, part of me terrifed.

MIL phoned this afternoon to tell me SIL doesn't have infection in her ovaries, has plenty of eggs and is likley to get pg as soon as she starts trying. Thanks for that you insensitive cow!!!! Cheered me right up.

Hope everyone has a great weekend :-)

Boobeez · 05/08/2011 18:07

Welcome to jambo. Sorry you're in the same boat as the rest of us, but you're not alone. It's a shitty time, but things will get better. You can have ny last cupcake. x

shorty100 · 05/08/2011 18:04

Hello everyone and welcome to everyone new.

I can def join in with the crazy symptoms spotting. Not sure what I going on with me, af not meant to be due till monday but since tues have had light bleeding, nothing like my normal period and it seems to have stopped now. Did a test on wed but bfn. Thanks for listening, I think if dh hears one more thing about it he's going to explode. X

Boobeez · 05/08/2011 18:03

Hey everyone. Cupcake coming up for marathonmama and missG. Gonna need to do some more baking! I have been stuffing my face with them-they are rather good, but at this rate I'm going to end up looking pregnant when I'm not! Teehee! Am def up for the new mantra missG "chin up boobeez out!" I think we should maybe get it printed on t-shirts.

Missgiraffe1 · 05/08/2011 17:12

Welcome Jambo and sorry to hear of your losses. We drive ourselves nuts don't we?!? It's so hard not to get your hopes up each month. Don't be too hard on yourself though. We do imagine symptoms, and we do convince ourselves that we might be pg each month, but we can't help it. Then when we get that bfn Sad we feel so daft for getting so excited. I've come to the conclusion that MCs turn us into some kind of raving loonies. But, if you want a bit of support, a friendly ear, or sometimes even a well-meaning kick-up-the-arse bit of advice, this is the place to be Smile

Missgiraffe1 · 05/08/2011 17:06

Thanks Blue go you with the PMA! Smile My DD has been asking when we can go back to Orlando. It's so hard to plan ahead when TTC isn't it??!! Am thinking I should just go ahead and book it for next summer - Sods law will mean I will get pg, won't be able to fly (or will have a newborn, and wouldnt travel as far as America) and will lose all the money. Would be worth it! Smile

Where are you thinking? Probably need to head further away than Europe for sun in Feb wouldn't you? Hawaii??

jambowolf · 05/08/2011 16:50

Hello ladies, may I join? I've been pg twice in the last year but have not seen a heartbeat in either. Having only ever had previous pg symptoms to go on I have convinced myself for the last week that I am pregnant- mad dreams, waking up at virtually the same time each morning ( between 3 and 4 am), constipation (soz) and headaches. AF usually arrives between CD25 and 29. Yesterday was CD26 and late last night there was blood. I woke up at 4 this morning, POAS which was negative. I've been miserable all day waiting for AF to unpack her bags for the weekend as I've been a bit crampy today.
I can't help feeling like I've been fooling myself.

BlueCrane · 05/08/2011 16:40

x-post missg was wondering when the anniversary was as I remembered you said it was August Sad not an easy time I'm sure! My AF was v heavy for a couple of days with bad cramps and then seemed to stop...before starting the true WTF that has been the last 11 days!!! Hopefully yours will behave itself!!

BlueCrane · 05/08/2011 16:35

marathon I know exactly what you mean re. your hairdresser, one of the girls who works downstairs is due the week I would've been due and I keep finding myself staring at her bump when she comes to see anyone up here and wondering what size I would've been by now Sad and my secretary is now starting to show too...she's about 8 weeks behind where I would've been...it's tough and unfortunately think it's going to get tougher as their bumps grow and especially when they leave to go on mat leave!!

But trying to stick with the PMA and thinking about what holiday we might be able to go on next year as it will be our 5th wedding anniversary next September...thinking we should maybe try and go earlier in the year as (hopefully!) we may have a little person to think about by september and be nice to have some time away just the two of us...so that means February probably to fit in with a soon to be conceived pregnancy...but where to go in Feb?! Sunshine would be preferable to cold I think...less mat clothes needed!! Hmm

whatso have a fab holiday in Ibiza with lots of SWI!!

IQ hope you feel better soon!

Right...back to work searching on the internet for February holiday destinations!

Missgiraffe1 · 05/08/2011 16:31

OMG! I have been off MN for 2 days and I just can't keep up! Chatterboxes, the lot of you!!

Although I can't name check everyone (sorry) and comment on what's been going on with everybody, I will say "Mmmmm.....Thai food and cupcakes......"
Welcome new peeps Far Iam Shorty (well, welcome back anyway) and Boobeez (ps maybe we should change the mantra to "chin up, boobeez out..." I like it! Grin )

Good luck tomorrow marathon will be thinking about you. x
wtf blue this wtf phase is really taking the piss. FX for some normality for you soon.
Good luck to everyone approaching the end of the 2ww
And also to all those almost - but not quite - there, but metalling anyway (hmmm, no elbows pointing manda Grin )
Talking of metalling IQ , good to see you're not letting the side down!
Summer hope you're well. Swear and rant away, All part of the metalling Smile
Whatso lol to:
"So based on that experience I think the first month can just be a pain in the fanjo."
Well said! Smile

Hi baby Eve Pie Shimmery cuttle and anyone else I might have missed (I blame the Wine )

Well, AF seems to have tailed off but it was 2 days of heavy bleeding (which I'm not used to) with cramps Shock (also not used to). Added to that, it was the first anniversary of my Mum's death yesterday Sad so was feeling a bit rubbish yesterday - not helped by the bottle of wine I tanned last night Confused (this emoticon pretty much sums up how I have looked for most of the day!)

But, I must get back into the PMA swing of things, and it's almost finish time! Mojito anyone???

MarathonMama · 05/08/2011 16:15

Manda when they design the emoticon they'll just have to leave the wrapper on. Talking of turds, have you read the "things kids eat" thread? If you're symptom spotting and want to feel sick, that's the thread to read.

fx for tomorrow, will be thinking of you too.

IQ get well soon!

Boobeez I'd rather have hundreds and thousands and normal icing than fancy pants stuff, cup cake this way please...

Whatso have a fab time in Ibiza!

Feeling furious at the moment as I've stayed in for most of today and yesterday afternoon waiting for a glazier and the buggers have just phoned to say that they can't now come. Grrrrr!!! Angry

Forgot to mention that I went to get my hair done yesterday and it turns out my hairdresser is pg and due two days before I would have been with the mmc baby. Very weird to see the size of her bump and think that I would have looked like that now. Felt a little pang of sadness.

OP posts:
InsomniaQueen · 05/08/2011 12:37

Manda I suspected you were correct and I was just being a nut case and after checking my tonsils this morning it is clearly a throat infection which usually make me feel drained and horrible......felt much more relaxed and after consulting with NHS direct they advised fluids and rest so I'm home today trying to chill out.

I had a burning and tingly sensation around my belly button yesterday and I'm ashamed to say that I had convinced myself last night that i had an infection in the amniotic fluid around biscuit - my auntie had this and ended up losing the baby at 32 weeks so am slightly paranoid - despite having no medical training I was fully convinced and so spent most of last night lying awake worrying. Which has been proven pointless now by the state of my throat and the reassurance of the nice lady at nhs direct.

Bloody hell......what a nut I am I'm turning into!!!!

Welcome to iam and boob and big wave to all the rest of you metal heads - will do a proper catch up when my body stops trying to reject my glass of milk Xxxxx

BlueCrane · 05/08/2011 11:29

Our network and email have crashed...but internet still working...can't access any of my files...but can get onto MN Smile

whatso I have been trying to think of that as well and make the most of the time DH and I have just the two of us before I'm pg again and too shattered to do anything/we have a DC and can't get out as much etc so PMA it is!

marathon interesting stats from your midwife about MMC...kinda feeling as though most of the 3% are on MN so does seem low from the number I've heard about! It was strange...on the ante-natal thread I was on there were 3 or 4 of us who found out about MMC at out 12 week scans in the same week which is crazy!! Though because a couple of them posted about it a couple of days before I went for my scan I was more prepared for it than I would've been otherwise IYSWIM. BUT...thinking VERY positive thoughts for you tomorrow!!!

manda here's hoping it's not short LP and is in fact good news Smile

Right...need to keep myself looking busy even though I can't actually access any of my files...

Boobeez · 05/08/2011 11:27

Hey mandahugnkiss! Sending good luck vibes your way )))))))))
and glad you're enjoying the cupcakes blue crane. In reality, my cakes are not quite as fancy as you describe :) think less nigella, more hundreds and thousands and shit loads of calories -mmm calories!

MandaHugNKiss · 05/08/2011 11:05

Oh! And how frckin self absorbed of me: welcome to iam and boob and welcome back to late

MandaHugNKiss · 05/08/2011 11:03

My news, seeing as marathon and blue are asking is this:

Today, at supposed 8 dpo, my temp crashed to the coverline. This is exactly what happened last month, only last month I crashed at 9 dpo followed by af at 10 dpo.

So! Either I'm having an even shorter lp this month (woe!) or it's an implantation dip (yeah, right).

Tomorrow mornings temp will be very telling as last month it fell another fraction and af had started by mid morning.

Once I haven woken, though, and got my temp out of the way, my thoughts will be (almost entirely) with you, marathon. Can imagine how you're feeling right now - so hoping its good news for you. Also, I believe a crunchie emotion might look a tiny bit like a turd. Just sayin'. Grin

MarathonMama · 05/08/2011 10:11

Hello all! Happy Friday! Crunchies (we need a Crunchie emoticon) all round...

Baby I had spotting randomly throughout my post-ERPC cycle and some minor spotting in the cycle after that too. I managed to get pg during that cycle though so not sure it affected anything, better DTD anyway, just in case Grin

Late glad you've leaped over one big hurdle, I found it emotional too so totally understand where you're coming from.

Whatso you should definitely enjoy your pre-child time. Having a child is amazing but you get so little time for yourself. If I were to have my time again I'd really appreciate every lie in, every shopping trip buying clothes etc just for me, every relaxed cup of coffee drunk in a quiet cafe, every opportunity to leisurely read the paper/ a book, every night on the town where I didn't have to get home to a babysitter and/ or worry about being woken up at 5.45am to start my day with a hangover. I'm sure the other mums will agree and have things that they miss too. Having children is amazing but it's bloody tiring and your life will never be the same again. It is so worth it though Smile

Manda any news?

Summer how are you feeling?

Nothing to report here. 8 weeks today. Scan is at 11.15am tomorrow and I'm trying not to think about it. Easier said than done as I'm sure you all understand. Am also waiting for the leukocyte test results. Interestingly, the midwife told me yesterday that mmc are very rare, less than 3% of 12 week scans result in a mmc. I was surprised at that number given that there are so many of us here who have experienced it.

OP posts:
whatsoever · 05/08/2011 09:56

blue cross posts - you got there first with the PMA - like it!

Boo to the spotting, but as with my last post it may be A SIGN.

whatsoever · 05/08/2011 09:54

late congrats on the first post-ERPC DTD. I was much like you - it felt like something to get out of the way but important. In my case it didn't help that we hadn't DTD all through the 3 months of pregnancy either so I was slightly surprised there wasn't a padlock down there Shock

I have started metalling today after being quite reasonable for the last few weeks. Felt queasy this morning and immediately assumed the best. In reality I probably haven't even ovulated this month yet; only DTD once since my AF as DH then went abroad and it's far too early. Also, I didn't fancy any brekky and had a cup of tea, and caffeine on an empty stomach tends to make me queasy. But I will insist it is A SIGN Grin

Last day in the office before Ibiza so sod it, I can think as many happy thoughts as I want, however silly they are.

Also had a bit of a watershed moment this morning. I have been wishing my life away ever since we started TTC in June last year. However round at our friends' house last night with a 3 week old with colic who didn't stop crying I realised I need to start cherishing these pre-children days too and enjoying them while I can instead of wishing the time away. Not sure how long this mindset will last, but I will give it a go. Also going to start saying WHEN not IF I have a baby. Join me in this PMA on this happy Friday!

BlueCrane · 05/08/2011 09:48

Morning all...I need several Brew and some of those cupcakes to get me through Friday...but Smile it's nearly the weekend...again...this week seems to have flown by!!

Well...a small small amount of spotting again this morning...CD13...grrr...no sign of any EWCM either which is a shame as was hoping I might ov around the 'normal' time this cycle...ho hum...will just keep up the SWI just in case Wink but going with the thread's PMA so am going to stay positive and take each day as it comes!! Had a good chat with Mum about it all last night...she was in a more understanding mood about it all which was helpful!

late that first time is suprisingly emotional...I found that too...but then was ok until after first AF and the first time after that was tough again too as I felt that we were properly TTC again and it brought back all those thoughts of 'here we are, back at the start again with no idea how long this is all going to take'. Glad it went ok and Smile for more SWI and PMA for this cycle being the one!!

summer how are you getting on?

marathon not long til scan time now...thinking of you!!

baby glad to hear you've got a studio in which to work spend the day quietly on MN but can understand your frustration with the DIY! When are your helpers decending - is it this weekend?

manda how's the testing chilled out waiting/metalling going? Hang in there!

missg hope AF is behaving herself and not too heavy or painful!

Must get back to work so
