Hello! Just miscarried and ready to start again, come and join us...

OP posts:
whatsoever · 19/08/2011 10:26

Pie channelling PMA your way. Just ate an apple instead of digging into the chocolately treats I bought for the office yesterday so that has definitely generated some spare PMA (or smugness, but it will do me).

Is the temperature testing essential for the sperm meets egg plan? I was planning on doing the ovulation stick tests just because I'm crap at anything like tempertaure testing which has variables. I can see me testing my temperature standing next to a radiator or an open window and ruining the whole thing...

PieMistress · 19/08/2011 08:59

Hi Peeps! I think I will need our collective PMA to get through this weekend! We have family staying and will be spending time with one of their friends who is due as the same time as I would have been :( I then got sucked into BB and Emma Willis is due in December and has a nice bump like I should have Sometimes I think i'm doing well then this kind of thing comes along, mwahhh!

Picnic sounds lovely blue! The sun is also shining in NE Scotland today :)

whats we started trying the sperm meets egg plan this month but as I had 6 days of highs we were tired by the time the peak day came along! So, looking at my chart FF has given me a 'good' scoring for this month and not 'high' as we dtd 3 days before O and the day of O (you get a high score if you have dtd 3 times between O day minus 3 and the day of O) sorry does that make sense!)

baby hope the chat with DH goes well, you are right there never is a right time!

eve enjoy the caravan! Where are you going?

Waves to all, here's to the weekend!!! We are going to be on hols when AF is due (Loch Lomond) so do I or don't I take any tests! Am sure some IC will find their way into my toiletries bag Blush even though i'm pretty sure we are out this month (and, annoying I've come down with a horrific sore throat/cough/cold) the day after Ov so am sure the bean won't want to implant when i'm all sicky!

whatsoever · 19/08/2011 08:30

Blue have a lovely day out in London and hope you get a nice surprise BFP!

eve have a great day with DS

Gave in to my curiosity and tested today a day early. BFN. Never mind, I kind of expected it given when DH was away in Japan. Think I'll give it one more month then (if DH's work schedule allows) try the sperm-meets-egg plan.

One positive thing is that we're going to the races for DH's dad's 60th tomorrow so at least I can have a drink now.

PMA at all times! Happy Friday everyone - nearly the weekend Smile

eve34 · 19/08/2011 08:24

Blue - sounds like a fab picnic I will be there for 12 :-) Hope you have a lovely day. And enjoy your weekend.

Whatso and blue - Will be me next weekend waiting for af to turn up. Feeling ok about it now, but am sure I will be miserable next weekend - I ficus is til the new year. I know it is not long but then I will maybe see gp. I am also 39 this oct so really don't want to wait longer. I don't know.

Off to the cinema today with ds. Typical as the sun is out today.

Baby - I am sure he will come round soon, men are not good at the emotional stuff.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

BlueCrane · 19/08/2011 08:03

Morning all...just a quick hello as I'm off today so not at work with lots of time to post heading into London to meet one of my best friends and her two children for a day out! So so glad the sun is shining after all the rain yesterday and hoping it stays dry...London not fun in the rain but with two little ones would just be urgh!!

Happy belated anniversary summer hope you managed some of that champers and DS feeling better.

Whatso I'm also due AF any day now and TBH feel very pre-AFy so expecting her arrival, esp with the lack of well timed SWI this cycle. Here's hoping she gets lost on her way to both of us and we get unexpected bfps instead Grin

Right...off to pack the picnic...mini cheese and ham rolls, carrot and cucumber sticks, ginger cake, raspberries and cream cupcakes, drinks... Hmm feeling an over balance of sweet things but who cares?! Have a great Friday all...catch up later after I've been wowed by the Penguins at the Aquarium Smile

whatsoever · 18/08/2011 23:29

Summer happy wedding anniversary!

Manda a few people have used the word light in relation to reiki. There was a stand in yoga teacher tonight so I couldn't book but I will do next week.

Work much better today and yoga made it better still. Also booked flights to NY for the end of September so feeling a bit more chipper. AF is due on Saturday so going to try very hard not to let it get me down if she arrives as expected.

babysaurus · 18/08/2011 22:24

Hi all! I have only managed to get on now as we had some lovely vistors today and went out for lunch and things instead.

Happy anniversary Summer, and I hope your DS is feeling better. The 'second' time, (we met on the Friday, he didn't leave till the Monday and then I worked abroad for 6 weeks) me and DH met he bought me some pink Laurent Perrier - we drank it in the bath here.

Glad it's not just me who has been passing out vaguely identifiable info! The west coast of Scotland is beautiful - I have spent two holidays there drunkenly in a hunting lodge and had a wonderful time.

Re 'alternative therapies' the one's I have had, acupuncture homeopathy and Bowen have been brilliant. In fact, I now try to go the 'alternative' route before the more conventional route.

Today some very good friends visited with their daughter. I have known him for many many years (not in the Biblical sense!) and he was the reason I met DH. They were both wonderful when I was going through the mc crap, having gone through the same themselves (apart from the D&C wasn't done properly so they had to go back - awful!) They now have a 17 month old daughter who is SO cute! She is very talkative and comical with it (she also was at 5 months old, but without the talking) and my dog was fabulous with her. I talked to A, my friends wife (she is now my friend too, but for writing it down's sake...) and was telling her about DH's reluctance to TTC again in the near future. It took her another 10 months before she got pg again after her MC so I really want to start now. Still, will bring this up on my birthday - think the 'another year older' and that I am now back to my normal self physically will make this a good time. I realise DH is stressed re cash etc but THERE IS NEVER A RIGHT TIME is there?!

Sorry, am suffering from stuck record syndrome.

Saying all this, seeing Eve's post about spending 3 hours in soft play hell may make me re think my options! Wink

Whatsoever hope work chills out soon. At least they realise why you may be more prone to getting upset than normal and are understanding about things.

eve34 · 18/08/2011 17:21

afternoon all

Just a quick hello, hope everyone is ok?

Summer hope ds is soon on the mend it is horrid when they are not well, but great to cuddle up with them. My ds was really bad with chicken pox and wouldn't let me out of his sight. Hope you get to do some celebrating later.

Whatso and Pie - it is soon the weekend. Hope you are ok and getting by.

For those dishing out personal info, I don't mind much if someone said ..oh your eve so and so. Nothing I am to ashamed of on here. I think it is very unlikely though. So if anyone is in Hampshire - come and say hi :-)

Horrible wet day today, spent 3 hours in soft play hell. Now watching tom and jerry AGAIN.

I am 5 days past ov I think. For whoever asked, am eating everything in sight so bang goes the diet again. DP taking me out tonight to cheer me up feeling bit flat this week. Af due bank holiday monday so will look forward to that.

Off to my dad's caravan this weekend hope the weather picks up for us. Back to work on monday and out laws are visiting for the week can't wait!

Hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend, this time next week we might have some bfp.....

MandaHugNKiss · 18/08/2011 16:14

I've had reiki once, whatso. My best friend is a lecturer in beauty therapy and often goes on courses to 'keep her hand in' or brush up on skill and before I had DS2 would often call me at short notice to be a guinea pig someone to practice on (she also used to call me in to the college to be a 'case study' for her students so I've had more than my fair share of free massages, facials, pedis etc Grin It's bloody impossible since DS2 came along though).

When she asked me to come along for a reiki session I was hesitant but went anyway to help her out. I had been feeling quite low for a few days but didn't tell her that.

At the end of the treatment, I felt very... light, is probably the word. As if a weight had literally been lifted. THe really odd thing is that best friend went to get me a glass of water and then sat with me, looking quite morose and said she felt really blue all of a sudden. It was at that point I admitted that's how I'd been feeling and didn't anymore! She then told me that during her training course she'd been warned that it was possible negative feelings could pass from the client to the therapist but she dismissed it as tosh. As would I. But it seems, for us at least, that's what really happened.

I obviously didn't 'believe' it enough to do it again, and infact had kinda forgotten all about that experience until you just asked.

But, like many alternative therapies, if it doesn't do any harm then there's a chance it can do good, if only by placebo effect (which is amazingly powerful, btw!)

In short, give it a go I reckon!

Happy anniversary summer hope there's some pink champers in your very near future Grin

Summerbird73 · 18/08/2011 15:23

blue and pie so sorry to hear you are having crap times at work, i have been there too so i understand.

whatso i have never had reiki but have heard it is amazing, let us know how you get on

pie my bleeding lasted a week, it was 2 weeks with the one in March and my AF only usually lasts 2-3 days. I think i am 5DPO but am not sure whether i am still in the WTF cycle Hmm FX i should be either POAS or AF on Bank Hol Monday.

miss and baby i give so much about myself away on this site, i try to be discreet, so far i reckon that all people know about me is that i am a geordie living in Altrincham but am sure i have said more Blush

DS was poorly last night and had us up every hour from midnight till 6am - am not complaining as he has always been a good sleeper (12hrs a night at 6weeks old Grin ) so am off work with him today - he is sitting watching the Mr Men Show giggling at Mr Rude! It is my wedding anniversary today and DH and i were supposed to be quaffing pink champagne tonight as that is what we had on our wedding day, however if DS is still poorly that is out of the question (he has asthma and his breathing was dodgy last night - need to be sober just in case) although he is perking up Hmm Grin Wine

sorry for the quick post but will try and catch up tomorrow so-much-easier-to-catch-up-on-here-when-am-at-work waves to shimmery manda marathon and all our metallers.

whatsoever · 18/08/2011 13:45

Pie so sorry to hear that - it's mortifying isn't it, but as you say - it gets to a stage where the tears are better out than in.

blue he was good bless him, he said he knew I'd had a crap year and that especially considering that, my work had been good. He said he hadn't had a "crier" in an appraisal for years which sadly made me laugh and cry at the same time!

I actually don't think work is particularly bad at the moment, it's just the way I am reacting to my workload that is stressing me out and leaving me unable to cope properly. My yoga teacher also does reiki so I'm thinking of having a session to see if it might de-stress me a bit. Has anyone ever had reiki and if so did you find it useful/neutral/rubbish?

Waving to everyone else, hope your SWI/2ww/other events are going well and lots of PMA is happening!

PieMistress · 18/08/2011 12:36

whats my crying was in the middle of our open plan office Blush I felt like a right tit but at that point in time enough was just enough xx

BlueCrane · 18/08/2011 11:40

Ah whatso so sorry to hear about your work situ...sounds v tough! Was your boss understanding/helpful? I'm sure all of the hormones doing crazy things during our cycles and especially with all of the post MC emotions make everything a lot tougher...really hope you have a better afternoon and make it to yoga!

whatsoever · 18/08/2011 09:09

Morning all. Work is mental. I cried in my appraisal yesterday (I have never done that before, and I was being told I had a decent performance grade at the time - no rhyme or reason to it) and then spent the rest of the day trying not to cry again. Serious end of tether stuff, although I am hoping it is more to do with the time of the month than anything else.

Metalling has started up again (as in TTC metalling, not the metalling in the rest of my life which resulted in me crying at work!) The symptoms I have spotted are pretty low grade (very tired and CM, which I got in the last pg) so I trying not to get my hopes up but as we all know, that's hard once you get it in your head Confused

Sorry for the lack of personals, have to shoot off back to work if I have any chance of leaving at 5.45 for yoga but I have been reading and nodding in agreement and/or sympathy to all the posts. And grinning at IQ's good scan news Grin

BlueCrane · 18/08/2011 09:09

Morning all?CD26 today?and feeling very AFy?cramps last night and this morning, very tired and quite emotional so thinking textbook PMT at the moment. POAS and BFN again so going to try and wait until Monday now if AF not announced her arrival before then (Cycles before MC varied from 30-37 so I could easily not be due for another week if they haven?t reset themselves after the MC?!)

missg thanks for the extra PMA?trying to stay Smile just having up and down moments?which seem to get recorded on MN to avoid driving DH too nuts with it all!!

marathon I?m going to see if I can get through this weekend and see what AF is doing (or not doing, hopefully Wink ) and then review NYC! As you say the reverse psychology of buying the ticket might just do the trick!! Hope you have a good time with the out-laws!

baby, pie you?re so right?the months do seem to slip by so quickly when TTC ? I cannot believe it?s August already?TTC for 3 months, ?pg? for 3 months, post MC/TTC again for 2 months and that?s my 2011 so far?here?s hoping for all of us that we?re not allowed any Wine at Christmas and are glowing for a different reason!! I have also given up with the ?would prefer to be heavily pregnant in x month rather than y month and having a baby in any month would just be Grin (with slight proviso that if Mum has to fly over (long haul) during the Olympics for the big arrival then the money for the flight will have to come from somewhere though not sure where at the mo?! Confused )

pie oooh?snakebite and black takes me back to my uni days! Glad the acupuncture seems to be helping and your weekend in Aviemore sounded fab! Not sure how many DPO but probably in the region of 7-9, I really am not holding out too much hope this cycle TBH as we haven?t SWI enough at all really?but until AF arrives there?s still a glimmer of hope that we didn?t happen to catch it on the right day!

Here?s hoping for some more BFP?s on this thread in the next week or so?lots of us in the 2ww and the full on metalling section of the padded room is getting busy!

Missgiraffe1 · 17/08/2011 22:08

I am on the West Coast of Scotland, in Ayrshire. Am on the outskirts of my wee town, which I was going to post a link to, but almost all of them mention a close family member, who is well known locally due to his involvement in many things in town! So, if anyone was in any doubt, they would definitely be able to identify me (and it would be too cringeworthy when I think back to posts about DTD and SWI to take the risk, bearing in mind MN is accessible to all and sundry Blush !!). Here's an area link though:
www.ayrshirescotland.com/

Lots of wind and rain!

PieMistress · 17/08/2011 22:04

Hi Peepsicles!

Gosh I can't keep up :) Not sure how far back I have to go to catch up :)

Work is (marginally) better but it really isn't acceptable that I had to burst into tears for them to finally realise that I just can't do all the workload they expect. My line manager is actually very understanding but it's his boss that is the problem. Ho Hum. Anyway I think all the stress might have delayed my ov this month as I didn't get a positive OPK until CD18 and a temp rise this morning CD20 (!) As such I think we are out this month (started SWI early as ov' on CD12 last month so were knackered by CD16! So, for possible conception have DTD 3 days before and day of Ov so doubt it's enough).

Will be standing on the side of the metalling dancefloor with a pint of snakebite and black!

One thing my acupunture session has done (along with a daily glass of grapefruit juice) is massively increase my EWCM. I guess there's no such thing as TMI on this thread but suffice to say I can't remember having that much EVER and it lasted for about 4/5 days :) I had my 2nd acupunture session tonight and the first thing he said was 'stick out your tongue' then he said 'you're stressed' !! So, 30 minutes of laying under a nice warm lamp with about 15 needles sticking out of me I do feel better!

We had a lovely long weekend away in Aviemore though, has DS in the bike seat lots on the trails and played on the beach by one of the big lochs :)

I have talked with 2 people today who know of people that are due on the same date as our Pud was :( DS is a Christmas Day baby and No.2 was due on the 23rd Dec! I said to DH I really hope we are pg by Christmas this year but now that doesn't feel very far away at all. I'm now 39 (pah!) and I think if nothing has happened in 12 months then we will probably stop TTC. I do have a referral from my GP to the fertility clinic though and she is going to do a few blood tests next week just in case there is anything that can be easily fixed before my eggs get too decrepid!!

shimmery OMG! 8 days IN A ROW! If you don't get a bfp this month then i'll be amazed! That is some serious loving! Go Girl!

missg I am chanting your mantra right now! It's quite scary how the weeks and months fly by when you are TTC. I think that's part of what scares me is that next thing I know I'll be 40 and we will still be trying, when I should focus on our DS and take a 'what will be, will be' stance. The acupuncturist believes it will happen so I have to take some of his positivity onboard!

baby I know what you mean about there always being something! That's what happened with DP & I. There was always something else we wanted to do before TTC and finally the last thing was celebrating his 40th with a big ski trip, after that I kind of had to say 'hey! we're not getting any younger, let's get going!'

blue it's horrible how the 2ww just drags isn't it! Especially the second week. I know what you mean about either getting a bfp or AF starting so you can start the next cycle. The witch isn't here yet though! How many days DPO are you?
IQ fantastic news on your scan! It brought a wee tear to my eye, I am so happy things are progressing well - whoop!

manda Big hugs chick, how are you today? This baby making business is so emotionally draining isn't it, especially after a miscarriage :( Take care of yourself x

summer has the bleeding stopped now? (sorry if you already said)

eve how many DPO do you think you are?

marathon hopefully the next 3 weeks will pass by quickly for you! The Big Mac sounds like a very promising sign! You're story about your friend really made me chuckle!

whats are you back from Ibiza? was it a clubbing or chilling hols?

Waves to everybody else and apologies profusely for the hugmongous waffle and anybody i've missed! x

babysaurus · 17/08/2011 21:52

Precisely - there are, after all, lots of threads to get through before someone found me! And the one's who may recognise me from the more intimate details are the one's who I'd probably tell this stuff too (well, most of it) anyway.

Where are you? If, of course, you dont mind me asking either!

Missgiraffe1 · 17/08/2011 21:49

Hehe, I know what you mean! I've given so much away that if there is/was anyone who knows me, they would definitely know this is me!! I doubt there will be though Confused. Sounds nice!

babysaurus · 17/08/2011 21:40

Yorkshire, West Yorkshire. Aw, fuckit, I live here (anyone who knows me would have guessed by posts, I reckon, and I doubt that is likely.)

Missgiraffe1 · 17/08/2011 21:35

I know, you go from planning ideal timing for this that and the next thing, then end up in a place where you'd give anything just to get there at all! We've just got to hope for the time being that we will indeed get there, and that everything will go perfectly!
Where in the world are you if you don't mind me asking?

babysaurus · 17/08/2011 21:13

Yes indeedy!! Grin

When we first decided to TTC I was hoping to end up with an EDD of Feb / March / April as I could have the winter feeling big and ungainly but not the summer. In the end I had one of mid Jan which was good - apart from the likelihood of snow in this part of the world. I always thought that being heavily pregnant in the peak of summer could be grim but now, frankly, I could not care less!

Missgiraffe1 · 17/08/2011 20:59

Nope! You are right Baby, that is not gonna happen! I will get my bfp this month and will be happily out walking with my baby giraffe by May next year Smile Smile (as you can see, I am totally not obsessed with due dates, life-changes etc etc Hmm )
And, hopefully, you will not be far behind me Smile.

Right Lets all Chant "Chin Up, Tits Out and PMA all the way to that BFP!!!!!"
Grin Grin Grin

babysaurus · 17/08/2011 20:01

MissG your last paragraph made me get a lump in my throat. And, while you say about two years not being that long for some people, I know from my own experience (we decided to TTC in Feb, got pg in April and had MMC in July) it seems AGES as it takes so much of your headspace and it is impossible very hard to think of much else! I think it would be a lot easier if we could switch off thinking about it but I tried that when we started TTCing the first time and then became, admittedly only in my own head, slightly obsessed with ovulation / genders / possible due dates and so on. I can also completeley understand why you would want to call it a day if you had another miscarriage but, hey, that's not gonna happen right?!

Manda, Amourous Manda should we say Grin you sound exhausted with the whole thing too. For the reasons I gave above, it can become so all consuming can't it and I have occassionally wished I'd never started on this journey as I didn't know how all consuming and worrying it could be. I suppose there are no certainties but what will be will be, and all that. Easier to type that attitude than actually have it though, eh?

It is my birthday next month (37) so I think I might try and raise the TTC again question to DH. Hopefully my cycle might have sorted itself out by then too, its currently still spotting but heavier but not getting heavy enough to feel like an actual period iyswim. We have the financial stress and the house stress blah blah blah but, frankly, there is always going to be something isn't there and time really is running out (not quite run out but it's starting to get there.)

Missgiraffe1 · 17/08/2011 19:16

Yeah IQ excellent news! Smile [Smile]. So happy for you! I hope you can enjoy your pg a bit more now, and start looking forward to all he wonderful things to come (heartburn, cankles, piles... I'm just joking!! Grin )

Eeeeek! Marathon at your friends story Blush Blush Wonder who was more embarassed?! That's funny. I see you're adpoting the good old 'ostrich' approach. I'm sure you'll be able to relax more once these 3 weeks have passed and your scan confirms that all is well in Mini Marathon land Smile
Good luck with the outlaws Smile You too Baby

Summer with my penchant for Wine and my secret daytime horizontal gymnastics trysts (ok, with my own Dh but still seems quite naughty - sometimes I feel like the teenager!), I think you have me well and truly sussed Wink (but I don't drink during the day.... honest)

Shimmery don't work too hard. FX for your shagathon reaping rewards in the form of a BFP Smile

Blue you always have such yummy cakes! I will gladly accept a baked pear & ginger muffin. Sorry the end of the 2ww is proving hard Sad. It's horrible allowing yourself to feel so hopeful and excited, then having those hopes dashed in a matter of minutes. But, it aint over 'til the fat lady sings. Still have fx for you Smile

Manda It's such a hrd decision to make, isn't it? I've had similar conversations with DH. We only decided to TTC in July 2009, when DD had just turned 13. Naively assumed it would just happen and everything would be fine. TTC Sept-Nov, but then - as I was chief bridesmaid at my best friends wedding on 2nd Sept 2010 - stopped TTC for a few months so I wasn't either about to pop or just had a new born at that time. But.. then got pg in February (when we thought we'd been careful!) Delighted anyway, even if I would be a bookend bridesmaid. But that ended ectopic Sad. The treatment (methotrexate) means you can't TTC for 3 months as it can remain in your system and destroys newly forming cells Sad So, I had that in the April, then my Mum died in the August, so TTC was out for a few months after that. Then, got BFP in March this year. But, of course, that was MMC and why I ended up here. I think what I'm trying to say is that (and I know this isn't very PMA of me) but if I was to have another pg end in MC, I have said to DH that I think I'd want to call it a day. He said he would agree with whatever I decided, but I still feel a bit guilty about making that decision when I know he would really love his own baby (he is a super stepdad to DD and has been with us since she was 6, but the baby stage is so very special). It's all speculative of course! And I realise that 2 years maybe doesn't seem that long to some people, but it feels it!
I am still PMA ing all the way to that BFP for the time being though. Hope you can too - for a bit at least - and hope your BFP is just around the corner Smile

Eve well done on weight loss Smile. Are you heading away somewhere this weekend again? More camping?
