OP posts:
Summerbird73 · 31/08/2011 09:11

nothing to report this morning, unless you all fancy some krispy kremes, they are going free in WHSmith this morning so i snaffled some for you all

BlueCrane · 31/08/2011 08:03

IQ good to hear from you! Sorry work is so crazy and for your super unhelpful Director Smile for scan being soon though!!

baby so sorry things are tough...I have lots of experience of family prioritising over the years as have several half brothers/sisters and loads of step brothers/sisters and a complicated family...unfortunately I'm not sure there's ever a 'right' or 'fair' balance. Hope it all sorts itself out soon...especially re. TTC!!

missg I would be excited about matching red kettle and toaster... I have a red brita water filter jug which I love!! Blush

summer PMA this cycle - definitely Grin

marathon I also lost a long post on MN yesterday...grrrr....hope you're doing ok?

Manda hope things are perking up with you and life getting less stressful

Right...must dash off to work so will catch up more later...have soooo much to do as we're on hols next week and I have a deadline the day I get back Hmm so need to sort everything so someone else can take over whilst I'm away...which I hate doing as always worry I've missed something!!

Summerbird73 · 30/08/2011 22:22

missg i am with you on the toaster and kettle - i saw a fabulous set in Currys ages ago but DH wouldnt let me buy it - ok so it was 10 times the price of the cheapo asda shit stuff but it was a lovely shiney racing car green and would look sooooo lovely on our bench Blush I basically love purchases - any purchases whether they be make up or toasters, i am a marketing execs dream as i am totally sucked in by PR!

and indeed how could i miss our bluecrane tropical swan! i too love giraffes and DS is a tad obsessed with them at the mo, if he sees a picture of one anywhere he literally 'screams' giraffe mummy its a giraffe - yayyyyyyy (well he is only 2!) I am already at the stage where i almost embarrass myself but just manage to stop myself pointing and shouting at 'moo cows' when DS isnt even with me!!

lovely to hear from you IQ and thanks for your PMA, my AF was a couple of days early which she usually is so i have a rough idea when i will OV - i reckon it will be next Thursday so will grab DH for some serious SWI next week! I was a bit dispondent about it last month after the CP but this month i am all systems go again Grin so your scan is next saturday - how exciting! make sure the FIRST thing you do is jump on here and let us all know how you get on (before informing family and friends etc of course Hmm )

baby i too can see your DH is probably struggling with his priorities, i can see both sides as he doesnt want to let his DS down (as you wouldnt want him letting your DC down either). But of course his new situation is with you and your priorities, its a bit like my BIL - he was married for about 6 weeks before his D W dumped him, he was heartbroken and vowed never to marry again, 6 years down the line he has been living with his new girlfriend for 3 years and is in love but is scared of getting married again, well his lovely new GF hasnt been married before and would love to get engaged etc etc, he also said he wouldnt want a big wedding as the last big wedding went tits up - again this would be his new GFs first wedding yada yada

What i am saying in a roundabout way is that your DH has his responsibilities but of course you are one of them too, i understand his dilemma but i understand yours too IYSWIM. God i am rambling tonight! Hmm

manda i hope you are having a better evening - here have a Wine and some malty-tesers! Smile

waves to marathon zebra shimmery eve blue pebs whatso cuttle and all my lovely metallers. really sorry if i have missed anyone (i always worry about this bit)

can we have a bit of prog rock tonight? i have been listening to a bit of King Crimson lately and thought a touch of 21st Century Psychoid Man would do the trick..........

der der der der der derrrrrrrrrrrrr boing boing boiiiinnnnnnnnnngggg!

Missgiraffe1 · 30/08/2011 21:38

God, I didn't mean lowest priority, i mean lower at that particular time. Hope I didnt offend you Baby .

Missgiraffe1 · 30/08/2011 21:20

Talking of washing machines... just wrecked DHs North Face jacket. I didn't want to put it in the washing machine, but he said it would be fine.... and it wasn't. Ha! Had the smug lovelinees of telling him "I told you so".

IQ thanks, and glad to hear all is well! Sounds like you have your work cut out your director-no-mates! Hope she isn't making like too difficult for you. It is so lovely that you and your sis have such a close relationship - wonder what she'll be like when it comes to labour?!

Baby sorry to hear how you are feeling. At the end of the day, your priority is you and DHs future (which includes children) so no-one can really judge you for being a bit resentful if his other responsibilities could affect that. I kinda feel for him too, though, as he clearly wants to do right by his DS, which is admirable. I have been getting £25/week from my ex for the past 9 years, but he didn't start giving me that until 2 years after we broke up, as he had debts to pay off - pah. He left me with my student loans, student overdraft and a £3,000 cc bill, and the only debt he left our relationship with was one £1,500 bill. I ran up the student loans and overdraft trying to feed and clothe our child. I knew that asking him for more might have affected his relationship with DD (as he was unwell and unreasonable back then) so didn't. Thankfully, we don't need it, but I sure could've done with it for a few years after we broke up! Sorry, I've totally digressed. What I am saying is that I can understand your feelings about this and can see it from many angles. My ex now has 2 children, but he has prioritised them over DD on so many occasions, she comes last quite often, and I that hurts. I don't think step family issues will ever be easy, and it can be difficult when a partner (or ex) has to prioritise and you (or your child) are the lower priority. I hope he is still keen to TTC though.

Summer I am with you with the treats - although the last things I got extremely excited about were a new toaster and kettle. They are very cool though, and are red to match the kitchen........ ok, I am officially a saddo Blush

InsomniaQueen · 30/08/2011 20:51

My god you lot move fast.....I keep trying to get on but life is so busy right now and work is demanding more of my time....leaving very little time for MN!! Other than my deputy director being a real bitch (childless, petless, DH/DPless and generally married to her work) so is totally unsympathetic that I'm desperately trying to grow a whole person right now which takes considerable amounts of effort and means I have to wake up half an hour early to give myself "puke time"....this used to be "make up time" but hey ho!!!

Anyway the MIL is up to her tricks again....complaining that I'm "drifting away" and that she doesn't see me - I tried to politely explain to her that I love and care for her as my DH's mother but apparently that is not enough. She said she "treats me like a daughter" and so I should treat her like a mum....now I already have 2 mothers so really why would I want another - additionally both my mothers know me well enough not to push me when I'm under pressure as I will just tell you to leave me alone and not bother getting in contact for a few months!!! Damn DH and his clingy family - just wish they would pull themselves together.....ok rant over (really must stop complaining about my MIL or just have her done in)!!

Ok here goes for a mammoth catching up session.....you lot need to slow down I can't keep up with my pregnancy brain!!!

miss g - obviously all your hard work SWI did the job....big fat positive and a big fat congratulations from IQ land!! Hope you are feeling well and the metalling is not getting to you too much.

Baby - sorry to hear about your rubbish weekend but glad that you and DH are on the 'possibly SWI' bus. Your lucky to have so many nice places to walk your dog....we have to drive to get to those kind of places but its still worth it.

bluecrane - well done on your decorating and all your home made items....very sad that I missed the ginger cake. Also sorry the witch is making a repeat performance and your collegues news...very sad.

pebspop - sorry to hear about your story and sending you a huge welcome and hug from here.....hope your taking it easy and looking after yourself at this difficult time. I fully agree with the other ladies.....this is a brilliant thread full of all sorts of wonderful women and stories!! Feel free to rant, rave, cry and scream with us - its what were here for!! Xxx

Eve - sorry the terrible AF got you....bloody crap!!! But good to see you have some great things to look forward to. Sorry you ended up in the river...I won't laugh it did make me smile and after the drama from my outlaws and work I damn well needed it!!

summer - sorry AF got you too...were you many days out or about the same?? Hopefully if not too many days out then you should have a good chance this cycle to get a positive....sending your eggs sticky thoughts!!! Your comment about missg finally crossing her legs made me chuckle!!

manda - sounds like were paddling up the same creek of shit....hope it eases off soon so that you can have some time for chilling with DH and SWI!! Xxx

zebra - also welcome to the thread....I'm glad that everyone has been treating you so well (not that I expected anything less from these lovely ladies) and that the bleeding seems to have stopped. 'Studded metal feathers' sounds utterly fab....its like your one of us already!!! Also good to see your already into the traditional mega catch up!!!

marathon - swearing on your behalf over the lost post!!! I will be keeping fingers and toes crossed for you and hoping your new found fatness is all good signs.....went for my first mw appointment and she said I had "popped out" already and then proceeded to explain my protective fat pouch....wasn't really sure how to take that but as my weight and bmi were bang on I decided to just be happy. My scan is a week saturday so think I will be waiting until friday night to do the scary thoughts, horrible dreams, shaking hands and lying awake all night thing....is it a morning or afternoon one?

shimmery - how are you holding up? Hope you are doing ok and hope that you are taking things steady. Sending you hugs and positive thoughts from casa iq. Xxx

Right now let me see who I have missed....big wave to - whatso, poppy, cuttle, pie and anyone else lurking!! Must go and turn the washing machine off and put the laundry out....its my first house work in nearly two weeks as my sister has been staying and looking after me....can't wait for her to come back at the weekend I desperately need a hot meal and someone to scrub the bathroom!!!

Love to you all!! Xxx

babysaurus · 30/08/2011 20:13

Hi all,
Have been at my mums most of the day escaping from DH sorting out car insurance. Then walked the 8.5 miles back from her house to mine so am now Officially Knackered.

DH is winding me up a bit - he is worried about cash, understandable, but seems to think that he works really hard 'sometimes till ten o'clock at night.' This is true, he is often working till ten but he doesn't start till 1pm, then has numerous tea breaks, meal breaks and generally faffs about.

We both work from home but my work, since moving, has been quite slow taking off. I also want him to sort my website and pamphlets, and have been asking for the best part of a year on and off, but nothing has happened yet - he is always 'too busy' with his own stuff or the house. Anyway, I won't go into the ins and outs but lets just say he was winding me up big time so I thought it better to get out the way.

Also, re SWI I would not be surprised if he had gone off the idea due to the cash situation. His ex girlfriend sent him a speadsheet with all the info for his DS's uni stuff and he is now worried about finding the cash for that so I am wondering if the idea of having another DC is about as appealing to him as laying down on the M1. Not that I have asked him, I don't want to in case I dont get the answer I want! I would never admit this in RL but I kind of resent his situation re his DS when it impacts on my life, but I don't want DH to know this as it can't really be helped and I'd, er, like him to think I am more grown up and level headed than that when it comes to his DS. Blush

Bluecrane I am glad to hear I wasn't the only one who hated first being pg. I hated it! I thought I'd like it but instead I felt trapped and uncomfortable. I certainly think the next time will be a very different experience (and hope so in many respects) to the last.

Hi everyone else - sorry I am not doing individual posts, there are too many to catch up with with my tired little brain. May dip in and out tonight though...

Missgiraffe1 · 30/08/2011 16:12

Thanks Marathon Fleeting from excited one minute to nervous the next. A new type of metalling! A very welcome one mind you. Just so cautious about getting ahead of myself again (which, of course, I am doing eg thinking about clearing out the spare room, then cursing myself for thinking about it!)
Think I will be just 4 weeks yesterday or today.

Only a week until your scan! How exciting. What time is it at? Bet you'll be metalling like mad this next week.

Yes, where is IQ? Hope everything's ok in mini IQ land Smile

Summer we also have a crane of the Blue variety Smile . I love giraffes. Did you know that their gestation period is 13-15 months?! Yikes.

Summerbird73 · 30/08/2011 16:09

marathon yayyyy for being fat... masses of good luck for your scan and i am thrilled that you are 11+4, you must stay on this thread as i am going to need some PMA when i get my BFP as at the mo i am awestruck that anyone can make a bean 'stick' Smile

treated myself to some lovely Estee Lauder loveliness at lunchtime, got the freebie too so i am feeling alllll positive today Smile its amazing what a free lippie can do for your PMA!

MarathonMama · 30/08/2011 14:18

Grrrr! I just wrote a bloody essay and MN lost it, I'm so cross, I mentioned everyone individually and everything. Haven't got time to write it again so just want to say a massive CONGRATS to MissG Grin How many weeks are you? Is it 4 yet?

Also, sending big hugs and thoughts to Manda hope you're ok.

No news here, 11+4 today, looking FAT (and not in a good way, I have a new chin that I don't need). Scan is a week tomorrow - eek!

Hello to everyone and welcome to Peps, sorry to hear what happened to you but glad you've joined us.

Where's IQ I wonder Hmm

OP posts:
zebradoodle · 30/08/2011 13:12

And summer, chuckling at the 'work' and the zoo animals, though if we're being strict I should possibly have called myself 'sloth' :)

zebradoodle · 30/08/2011 13:05

MissG nice work!

Aaargh, how could I have forgotten the Brew and cakes?! All in helpful proximity to the padded cell just in case Wink.

Not too bad here, feeling thankfully more human after being a complete psychopath touch emotional all weekend. Seem to have stopped erpc bleeding, hooray (am looking on bright side as at least that's a step on the road back to action). So am hoping it was maybe just hormones re-setting as wasn't deep and meaningful upset, but more sobbing piteously at really important things like, um, lack of clean socks Blush.

Summerbird73 · 30/08/2011 12:58

missg its about time you crossed your legs lady! Wink still soooo excited for you! i got all Envy and pissed off with Beyonce but for some reason i am in awe of the giraffe!! do you realise we now have a giraffe and a zebra on here - praps we should all change our name to zoo animals - i wonder if i could be a tropical summerbird? Hmm

gosh missg my poor DH has his work cut out this month!

waves to everyone - notice how active i am on here today - i have sooooo much MNing work to catch up on!

Missgiraffe1 · 30/08/2011 12:16

Summer pinned him down Cds 11,12,14,17 & 19. I'll have everything - and I mean everything - crossed for you this month Smile

Thanks Zebra. Funny image you're conjured up there. It would, of course, have a plate full of cakes and a Brew next to it for occasional re-surfacing. How are you feeling this week?

zebradoodle · 30/08/2011 11:58

Ooops, sorry guys, x-post from me, am slooooow this morning :)!

zebradoodle · 30/08/2011 11:53

MissG, Pie, Eve, Shimmery, Summer, Marathon, Baby and everyone, thanks so much for the lovely welcome. Really cheered me up to read your good thoughts, and it's great that you guys have found this such a supportive and inspiring place to be.

MissG, oooooh, fantastic news! So happy for you. Hope you're doing well so far, and Marathon's technique sounds like a good one (am picturing an ostrich nicely done up in a fetching set of studded metalling leathers :) ).

Baby, sorry to hear you had a tough weekend - sounds like lots of pregnancy tmi (if that makes sense?), and reckon you did really well to be so enthused and composed about it on the whole, I don't think I'd have even managed to get that far. As the others have said much more eloquently than me, the wobbles are completely understandable, so definitely be kind to yourself. Am also really liking your positive thought on the early weeks, I felt much the same way, so will be trying to 'borrow' that thinking too for next time (gulp) if you don't mind :).

Blue, hats off to you on the decorating front, sounds like you've done a great job, and am suitably in awe of your productivity (especially as am currently congratulating self on a particularly taxing waddle from duvet to fridge :) ).

Pebspop, so sorry you've been having such a sad time, and echoing the very warm welcome - I'm very new here too but already finding these ladies a wise and wonderful bunch, so hope it'll help you to be here too.

Eve, gosh, absolutely rant away, can imagine that after finding the bravery to get back to the whole ttc business, the first AF must be particularly, hideously disappointing. Sending lots of supportive thoughts your way.

Summer, glad you had a lovely weekend, although grrrrr to AF . May try to join you in some PMA today (ha, took me a while to figure out the 'boobs out' reference, was alarmed for a moment that public nudity was about to be a PMA requirement Wink )

Shimmery, really hope you're starting to feel better and your wonderful DH and some gigantic G&T's are helping.

Lots of fx things improve for you Manda.

Plus to IQ, cuttle, whatso, poppy, and anyone I've missed (sorry!)

Missgiraffe1 · 30/08/2011 11:48

Morning metallers Smile

Thanks Blue Eve and Summer* Manda still can't quite believe it (hence doing another FR test this morning! Nice dark line Smile ) DH is of course beaming about his superswimmers given this was only month 2 of TTC post MC. Called EPU for early scan date, so it is Monday 19th Sept. Soooooo far away!! I will most likely be on here metalling for Scotland from then until now! Well, will probably swing between 'head in sand' and metalling on an hourly daily basis.

Blue so sorry to her about your friend. And Angry at AF messing you about. Hopefully she will have taken permanent leave well before holiday time so you can down to some serious SWI Wink. Your nursery spare room sounds just lovely Smile . There's a lizard in mine, will have to do soemthing about that in due course!

Eve lol at your spectacular bike dive (although also hope you didn't hurt yourself?) Re AF after ERPC, I have read so many accounts of peoples' experiences that the only thing I'm sure of is that there is no such thing as normal. So frustrating.

Manda sorry to hear you're not doing so well just now. Hope you can work through this, and you are being supported just now. x

Summer go PMA queen! Grin Grin Sorry evil AF got you Sad . Next month could well be the month!! I'm PMAing for all you June enthusiasts!! Yes, we went for it this month. There was lots of sneaking about, like teenagerts (but in reverse, since we were hiding from the teenager) We have decided not to tell her for now. If everything goes well at the scan, we'll tell her then. Will just have to see how that plan goes though. When she came out her room yesteday morning and said "Mum, Beyonce's pregnant" I sooo wanted to shout "She's not the only one!!!" I don't know how I'm going to keep it from friends though, as I have so many things coming up (cocktails on Sunday for my friends 30th for example. That friend I would tell anyway, but some of the others I wouldn't.) Going to have to come up with convincing reason why I'm driving, as I am the cocktail queen! It is me who always organises our 'Ladies wot lunch and slurp cocktails on a Sunday' outings Hmm

Hi Baby and go girl with the PMA! Yes, you will get PG, we will hear of no 'ifs' on this thread!

Welcome Pebspop, was so sad to read your story. I hope the tests give you some answers which will make your next PG a less anxious time. And the reassurance scans might help you bond better with the next one too. Wishing you every success in future pg.

Morning to everyone else Marathon IQ Shimmery Pie Zebra Whatso (if you happen to lurk) Cuttle (if you're still about) and anyone else lurking.

Summerbird73 · 30/08/2011 11:48

blue so Sad about your colleague, my colleague isnt back at work yet, she must really be going through it.

Summerbird73 · 30/08/2011 11:47

sorry to hear that pebspop

blue didnt your AF do that to you last month? bloomin WTF cycles.

missg i need to scroll back and look at your schedule last month - what days did you grab-your-poor-tired-DH SWI? I am thinking of another marathon sesh late on next week. best get DH to cancel his squash games Grin

BlueCrane · 30/08/2011 11:12

PS Sad just found out a friend at work MC'd at 7 weeks last week. She's trying for DC2 and it's been taking a while. Crazy lady is at work though she's been bleeding pretty heavily over the weekend...trying to encourage her to go home and rest but she might be better keeping her mind busy at the moment...

BlueCrane · 30/08/2011 09:55

Morning all!!

Another Grin for you missg how are you feeling today?

pebspop so sorry to hear your Sad news?but you?re v welcome here for metalling support!!

eve Smile for Disneyland Paris and yeah to going on the rides too!! Sorry to hear about the bike/river incident?did you hurt yourself? My periods post ERPC have been odd...first one lasted almost 2 weeks with lots of spotting after the initial main bleed?this one I thought was more normal and was all set to post this morning that AF had departed when (after 2 days of nothing) she seems to be back again Confused unfortunately there doesn?t seem to be any ?normal? for a while after MC/ERPC!

baby I was a bit the same as you when I was pregnant before the MC and it has rather haunted me since then?I was stressed about the due date so close to Christmas for Mum to fly over, I just felt SO bloated and fat and couldn?t fit into any clothes and my boobs hurt and grew so so much I was struggling to find bras etc but next time I will be much more embracing and happy for it all?except the MC worries as you say! I?ve felt so sad at my previous reaction given what happened!

summer sorry to hear AF has come to visit you as well Sad I?m thinking v PMA thoughts for June babies too!!! And I?m v happy with my spare room/study nursery it?s looking v good in ?sweet caramel? and ?almond white? Wink

manda so sorry things are tough at the moment?hope things get better soon

As I mentioned above I was all set for a chirpy PMA post about AF having gone when I thought Hmm (sorry TMI) that feels suspiciously like something happening down there and low and behold?she?s back after two days totally absent!! How utterly irritating!! But?still a bit more ?normalish? than last cycle and am feeling very PMA for this cycle and a June baby plus we're off to the Isle of Wight on Sunday for holiday so am on countdown to that!!! Smile

Happy Tuesday all?

pebspop · 30/08/2011 09:48

summerbird73 unfortunatley i wasn't bonded with my bump even at 20 weeks as i was waiting for something to go wrong as it had the first time. i don't think i will ever be able to relax in pregnancy.

babysaurus i wasn't feeling any movement and i was losing weight (was the lightest i have been in years when i was four month pg) so thought something wasn't right but i did feel pg and my boobs and bump were growing. didn't feel like i had an infection or anything. it could have been that i had a blood clotting disorder and the placenta was working properly. or the baby may have had something wrong with it. i will find out the results in four weeks.

next time i get pg i will be getting my own midwife and will be able to have weekly appointments with them and have more regular scans. hopefully this will help me feel more confident in future.

i have been reading a book called miscarriage, what every woman needs know by lesley regan. she is the leading mc specialist in the country. the book tells you all about the causes of mc and the tests which are carried out it's quite a good read if you are interested as it give a positive message to all women who have mc'd that you will most likely have a baby one day.

i did my temping for the first time this morning. it was 36.2 C. not sure what that means or what to expect over the next few weeks. thought i would do my temps while i am waiting for af then if she doesn't come i can take the graph to the consultant to see what they think.

Summerbird73 · 30/08/2011 09:06

hey manda sending you a HugNKiss Smile and hope things get better for you

i am having a PMA day today, got my boobs out and everything (well not literally!).

babysaurus · 29/08/2011 23:07

Shit, sorry to hear it Manda. Hope things perk up soon x

MandaHugNKiss · 29/08/2011 22:57
