Hello! Just miscarried and ready to start again, come and join us...

Peps I did lots of inappropriate things, and it worked! I gave away my pregnancy clothes, chucked out my Pregnacare, invited a million people (well, ish) for Christmas, agreed to go abroad with three kids later in the year. It's the best thing for it I reckon. Have you seen a doctor? I was told to make an appointment if AF hadn't arrived after 6 weeks.

MissG and Baby, blimey you guys are talkers! MissG, you can eat the Satay, they've changed the advice on peanuts, according to my midwife they're fine now and the prawns are ok if properly cooked. You don't have to miss out! Of course, if you'd prefer to pretend you can't eat it so that you have a good excuse to tell your friend Wink How are you feeling?

Baby glad things are moving along house-wise, hope it gets sorted soon.

Blue Grrr to your AF, she sounds particularly evil. Will send her some evil stares...

Eve get well soon! Keep thinking of tap dancing elephants, which is making me chuckle.

Manda how long to go until you POAS? Hope you're ok?

Zebra yay for jumping on the June bus, you've got nothing to lose! Have you had a BFN yet? Worth testing before you start trying again as it can cause some anxiety if you get a BFP without a BFN first (it can be left over HcG from mc).

Who else is waiting to POAS?

I'm having a bad day today. I'm 12 weeks (eek!) but feeling a bit down. DH and I had a massive row on Weds night. A long story but it included how unsupported I felt after the mc and how I didn't feel that he cared that I was pg again. He called me a "brutal bitch" and "f**king annoying" Sad It was awful and I still feel down about it now although we have made up. I think it might take some time for us to both get over it, it was by far the worst argument we've ever had.

I also got an email from one of my friends, sent to a group of us inviting us to her house on Monday. In the email she mentions that her friend "Sarah" will be there too. I'm slightly narked as her friend "Sarah" is actually my friend. I introduced them at my house a few weeks ago. "Sarah" emailed me when I was away on holiday suggesting a get together but I as I was away I sent her my friend's number and suggested they meet up instead, and they did. Now it seems they are meeting up without me. I wouldn't mind this so much apart from the group email which seems like my friend is trying to rub my nose in it. What do you think? Am I being paranoid?

Anyway, I'm hoping it's just one of those days and will eat a Crunchie to cheer myself up.

Hello to everyone I missed Grin

Pebspop how frustrating for you Sad The further along you are, the higher your HcG level gets (although it does plateau after a certain stage - 12 weeks maybe?), and the longer it takes to come down. And, your cycle will only kick start properly again after your HcG drops to below a certain level. I'm not medically qualified, but when I had an ectopic last year, I was told that HcG should fall at roughly the same rate as it rises (doubles every 48-72 hours). It took 10 weeks for mine to drop to below 5, and I onlt got to 8.5 weeks. Could you ask your GP/EPU to do a blood test, then another 48 hours later? Might set your mind at ease. And, not that it helps much, but everyone is different, and whilst rules of thumb exists, there seems to be a lot of variables.

I like your theory! Taking on Sod's law Grin I hope you win! I ate Camembert on Saturday Confused. Kind of stupid really, and actually unintentional, as I honestly didn't think I would be as lucky as to conceive in only cycle 2 after MC. But there you go. Had also been considering booking a hol to Disney for next Summer, but couldn't quite bring myself to do it in the end.

pebspop · 02/09/2011 12:38

hi everyone

i am still waiting for af. it will be 9 weeks on sunday since mc. i am going to do a pg test later and see what that says. it is extremeley unlikely i will be pg as we have been using condoms but am going to check just in case. doing my temping in the mornings but i suppose that doesn't really tell me anything until i have a couple of months of info.

in a masterstroke on genius i am going to buy a fiat 500 tomorrow. i am hoping this will tempt fate as it's a bit inappropriate for a baby!! i was saving to buy a family car but i am banking on sod's law to work for me!!

anyone else doing inappropriate things in a bid to tempt fate?

Missgiraffe1 · 02/09/2011 12:20

Blue it is amazing. He makes his own satay sauce, and gets these humungous, meaty prawns from a fab fishmongers in Glasgow. I almost licked the pattern off the plate the first time he made it for us!

Can't believe the spotting has stared again Sad Maybe it won't last long. And it had better stay away for your holiday Angry
Can sympathise with you re work. I would say " at least once you hand over you can forget about it and go on holiday" but I know it's not always that easy. My work's been manic this past 2 weeks. I work in a team of 5 (only recently become 5 due to excessive workload issues) but the 5th doesn't do any representational work yet, as it will take a bit of time for her to develop to that level. 2 of my colleagues have been off on leave this past 2 weeks, so it's pretty been the other 2 of us covering, as most stuff that's come in has been at the higher level. And I have had this horrible cold, now have a bark that would rival a rottweiler. Talking about difficult clients, My DH took 2 calls on Christmas day! He has a lot of clients in the far East. Once we have babies, I'll be putting a stop to that Grin

Hope your car's ok. My new one is great. And the fact that it is never likely to break down in the Clyde Tunnel is a bonus Wink. I am one of those people who name their cars, and this one os Disco Dingbat Grin

(I really should be working but have lost all motivation...)

BlueCrane · 02/09/2011 11:00

PS missg if you can't eat the King Prawn Satay then I'll have it for you!! mmm...sounds yummy!

BlueCrane · 02/09/2011 10:59

Morning all it would seem that our favourite Aunt heard my whispers yesterday morning saying she'd gone and came back to wave goodbye last night with some more spotting Angry wish she'd just go away...grrrr! Work so so busy today as I'm off on hols next week (Isle of Wight) so just a quick post and will catch up properly tonight or tomorrow before we go on Sunday. Work is pretty hideous and I was v v stressed out with it yesterday - Client being totally unreasonable but not much I can do about it...wouldn't be quite so bad if I was in next week but a real pain as I have to hand everything over to a colleague I've not worked with before...aaand the car has gone in for service & MOT today which always has me on tenterhooks waiting to hear if everything's ok! It's only 3 yrs old so should be fine, but I'm still nervous!!

Hope everyone else is ok?

Missgiraffe1 · 02/09/2011 10:44

Thank Crunchie it's Friday!!

Work for me today eve. But I am babystitting my gorgeous wee nephew tonight, so am looking forward to that. And I can -cautiously- tell him his little cousin's on the way since, of course, he can't spill the beans as he won't really have a clue what I'm on about. But, at least I'll have told someone! (apart from my wonderful MN peeps of course!)

My BF texted from Gran Canaria last night, just a general 'having fab time, weather great, food great, managing not to kill DH.' kinda text, then asking what was happening in Missgiraffe land this week. I was desperate to tell her! She's having us over for dinner next Thursday, and I know her DH is making King Prawn Satay (which is to die for) so that's a good excuse for blabbing!

eve34 · 02/09/2011 08:39

Morning all.

Baby - it will be worth it once it is all done. No point rushing it you want to get it right first time.

Tap dancing hey ladies!!! I gave it a go but have the coordination of an elephant, look like it too, so not a good look. One of those things you just have to do as a little girl isn't it!

Well I have managed to top feeling like death yesterday and feel worse today - off to get lemsip and see if i can get on top of this stinking cold.#

Not too sure about the wedding it is going to be a very lovely day. It is my step sister who I really don't know well at all. It is going to be full of very beautiful people I always feel akward.

DP is having to go away with work next week, so I am guessing that will be me out of the June boat :-( We shall see what happens.

Hope everyone has something more exciting than house work planned for today ;-)

babysaurus · 01/09/2011 22:17

chat tomorrow, you decorating enthusiast!
night!

Missgiraffe1 · 01/09/2011 22:15

Found them! It will look amazing when it's all done the way you want, will be worth the hard work! Well, that's DD in, will go grab a quick chat with her before she goes to bed, or plugs herself into Ipad.
Night! Back to metalling tomorrow no doubt!

babysaurus · 01/09/2011 22:11

Oh, I thought you had seen them. The FB link says to send the link below and other people can see them. Not sure what to suggest other than cutting and pasting... Confused

babysaurus · 01/09/2011 22:10

It is very scenic and pretty, it's beautiful. I guess I do walk her a lot to escape a bit, yes, but its also as I like exploring. Hopefully, and not too far away, the whole house will look as good as the bedroom.
The kitchen is actually a bit better now, the walls are plastered (in the pics you can see the plaster is crumbling off) but it's miles away from being finished. Or even worked on, now I think of it, as the bathroom is the current project.

Missgiraffe1 · 01/09/2011 22:09

all I need to do is figure out how to find said pics Confused

Missgiraffe1 · 01/09/2011 22:06

Oft. Is that why you spend so much time out walking your dog??? Sounds very scenic and pretty where you live, at least there are plenty nice places to escape to. Ooooh, you'll need to keep us updated when you start the decorating. I am obsessed with LOVE decorating/upholstery/furniture/wallpaper/lamps/rugs/lovechairs/lamps/furniture/tables/lamps/fairylights........

babysaurus · 01/09/2011 22:05

Have sent you some pics of the house, inc the kitchen. They will explain the hollow laughter. Wink

babysaurus · 01/09/2011 22:00

Ha! Hahahahahahaha!
That was hollow laughter by the way.
The kitchen is NOWHERE near to being fitted. The walls are plastered, but the floor needs sorting. We have Yorkshire flagstones on the floor but they are half covered in cracked concrete in some places, and they need the gaps sealing in others. So, the 'kitchen' is just a shell of a room with loads of tools and general crap in at the moment.

Missgiraffe1 · 01/09/2011 21:58

mmmm that sounds amazing! I had spag bol, trusty favourite, not very exciting though! I used to tap dance too! In fact, one of my facebook friends recently put up a picture of us at a dancing display in 1987! Aaaaaahhh..... the memories.......
how long until your kitchen will be ready to be fitted?

babysaurus · 01/09/2011 21:53

hello,
some friends of friends children do Irish dancing and it was amazing to see. I used to be a good tap dancer, but a bit rusty now.
Just been out for dinner - me and DH are sick of microwave dinners, SO sick of them that we couldn't face another so went to a Turkish place down the road. Had fabulous stew, with lamb meatballs and lots of veg, along with salad and bulgar wheat. I needed it!
Can't wait to have an oven. In fact, I can't wait to have a kitchen! Be a long while off yet though...

Missgiraffe1 · 01/09/2011 21:49

Hi Baby thought you had all gone missing on Safari! I'm currently watching program about Irish dancing (DH snoring on sofa). Their feet move at a million miles an hour!

babysaurus · 01/09/2011 21:44

Am here, am here!

Missgiraffe1 · 01/09/2011 21:00

Hmm Hmm Hmm Hmm

Where has everyone gone???

Missgiraffe1 · 01/09/2011 15:04

Everyone's sounding pretty chipper today Smile I can feel the PMA on this thread (god, that sounded so 'Darius from Pop Idol' Blush)

Blue Yeah! to AF buggering off properly (almost) for the first time! Hope your friend at work's feeling a little better?

Eve you have my sympathy! I have been choked up since Saturday night. Feels like this cold is lingering for far too long. I currently look more like Rudolph than Missgiraffe (not that I actually look like a giraffe, being only 5'1"). Lol at you sitting with your fascinator on! Are you excited about the wedding? I love a good wedding. My next one is my FILs in 8 weeks.

Summer Big hug to you. Cassidy is lovely. I think you can get away with almost anything as a middle name. You just need to find a first name that flows with it. And if your DS himself were ever to feel it sounded too girly when he's older, he doesn't need to use it. I know hardly anyone's middle names. My DH wants his Mum's maiden name as a middle name if we have a boy. It's Don. Hardly anything goes with it!! (We did have some juvenille laughs the last time I was pg making up stupid first names to go with though!)

And Baby I know what you mean about common names. But, if Alfie means something special, then I think that should over-ride the fact that it is popular. My DD is Caitlin. When I picked it (at 3 months pg, which was not far off 15 years ago) I ddn't know a single other one! Now there are loads, and I think it was the most popular girls name for one or 2 years after that!

thanks for the donut Zebra . We went to Dinsey for our honeymoon. Had DD with us, but you are never to old!! It's amazing.

Quick wave to everyone Smile

zebradoodle · 01/09/2011 14:05

Oh, also, Summer, I think Cassidy is great as a middle name. I've only heard it used for girls as a first name, but it's completely neutral as a surname, so I think it works really nicely both ways. And it's a lovely way to remember your Grandad - very sorry for your loss earlier in the year.

(plus, if anyone thinks it's girly, the other thing it makes me think of is Butch Cassidy and cowboy associations, and you don't get much more boy-ish than that :) ).

zebradoodle · 01/09/2011 13:49

Um, would it ruin the lovely Hello-style safari spread if the somewhat lardy-looking zebra on the end is clutching Summer's Krispy Kremes, Marathon's pecan pie, and that spare chocolate biscuit that was going a while ago?

Also, in keeping with the pleasing wild-animal theme, am sending skunks to IQ's MIL, and Baby's, MissG's and Marathon's partner's exes. Not in a making-light way at all, but more because all the ex situations sound so grim I'm at a loss for anything wise and constructive to add to the already-very-sensible comments. Hence the mature approach instead (skunks). Actually, IQ, thinking about it, your director needs one too, but hope all else is good :).

Baby, was wondering if in your DH's case, nasty ex issues + money concerns might just equal general DH stress, rather than that he's specifically feeling negative about ttc again - so really glad things seem to be looking up for you on that front.

MissG look, I found your lost PMA under a Krispy Kreme, here it is!!! But seriously, reckon in your situation you're very much allowed the odd wobble - sending supportive thoughts and hope you're feeling a bit better today.

Marathon, that's what I heard too, and that with bleeding stopped I'm good to go, but it's been a slightly insane-sounding echo in the back of my mind - it actually really helped to have you say it 'out loud', as it were! Am going to pluck up courage and try to jump into that June boat...

... at Poppy, Summer, Shimmery, Blue and the rest of the June squad.

Eve, sounds rubbish, fact that it's supposed to be summer (just!) adds insult to injury on the crappy colds! Brew and Biscuit for you asap... (also, files! genius! That's what I need, was starting to be slightly frightened by everyone's memory skills with keeping up :) ).

Manda, welcome back - tell you what, with Summer's girl, and MissG's magpies as well, if I vote 'boy', then one of us must be right on something and we're not all completely loopy over-enthused with our PMA Wink.

Oh, and Grin to the disney giraffe resort! Hope one's bloomin' allowed to go there just as a grown up, and don't need the as-yet-non-existant infant to take for credibility ...

Otherwise, sorry for epic post, at everyone, and apologises profusely for anyone/anything I've missed, or if I've manage to completely muddle anyone up Blush.

eve34 · 01/09/2011 12:36

Just to share - I am the proud owner of a very pretty facinator not sure of spelling sorry - as I work from home alone I thought I would maximize it use and sit and wear it all day today!
