Hey girls! Haven't been on for a while! Went to doc yesterday and was told I couldn't have an early scan or any blood tests to check things out :( doc was v unhelpful and said she didn't envy me going through this grim time. Err thanks then! Currently 6+3 today and feeling nervous. Due date 19th May. Congrats to blue! Great news! And Manda -looks like we're pretty close with our dates! Hey to everyone else :0) xxx

BlueCrane · 22/09/2011 09:26

poppy Brew porridge, toast and jam sounds great, but I may need to add some prunes to the mix as the pregnacare and little bean are causing a similar problem to that which IQ suffered from Blush Everyone always says to chill and relax and it'll help but I know that's easier said than done...hopefully the spots mean there's hormones busy at work about to do something!!

shimmery thanks for the congrats...it's still sinking in TBH though with boobs getting ever more sore the reality is starting to hit! Any sign of AF for you this morning? Have you tested? Sorry to hear work still so so manic for you!

summer how are you doing? Still hanging in there? No signs of AF yet? You keep on moshing away!!

pie are you in the mosh pit with shimmery and summer too? How are you doing? Hope you've all got your matching June hoodie's on? Sending lots of PMA into that metalling room today!!

manda how are you feeling today? Really hope you're doing ok and managing to keep up the PMA...I'm managing to stick with it at the moment though each day feels like an eternity...still only 4+2 today...told myself this morning that when I get to 5 weeks I'll be an 8th of the way there so you're well past that now Smile

missg is it this weeked you're down to London for your hen do? Have you worked out your excuses yet? We've decided to tell parents next weekend and 2 sets of close friends, but will then wait until after 12w scan before anyone else though after the 8w scan I may acidentally slip up with a couple of my girlie friends I'm sure bodypump is fine providing you don't overdo it! I went to the gym for the first time on months on Saturday and was v careful just in case I was pregnant (didn't know at that point) am going to try and go swimming on Saturday as really want to get into some form of regular exercise and figure if I start gently now then I should be ok!? I used to go to the gym regularly but my membership has expired and I don't see the point in renewing it just now in case I can't use it v much!

IQ hope you're enjoying your week off and taking things easy over in IQ land!

pebs, baby, eve

Work still quiet so more time for sorting my desk out and doing filing catching up on mumsnet and trying to look busy

Summerbird73 · 22/09/2011 09:14

new thread

Summerbird73 · 22/09/2011 09:14

over here ladies - come on come on!

Summerbird73 · 22/09/2011 09:10

oooh poppy you are my kind of breakfast lady. DS and i love our porridge followed by toast in the morning. it is even more warming in the autumn/winter time!

how frustrating for you poppy i have no idea what to suggest other than some serious moshing and that vip ticket to the padded cell Angry

incidentally i am going to set up a new thread now as we are nearing 1000. Back in a bit!

Poppyjen · 22/09/2011 07:46

's all a bit quiet on here....

Morning all - just wanted to say still no Ovulation. Now CD32. Bah! Forehead getting ever spottier so hoping it happens soon or I really will start looking like a teenager (and not in a good way!)

Frustrating doesn't even come close. Still I suppose I should chill out about it a bit, stress isn't going to help anything along is it. In the grand scheme of things when I do finally get pg again a few days, weeks or months here or there won't make a difference if you see what I mean.

Just noticed from the stats Marathon and IQ your due dates are very close to mine when I had DS - he was 15th March (but not born until 2 weeks later). I just wanted to say that this was a brilliant time to be pg - you stay all cosy over the winter with your lovely bump and then when you are at your biggest the weather is still cool enough for you to stay comfortable and then by the time your baby arrives it is starting to look like Spring - lovely! Smile

Anyone for some Brew and lovely healthy porridge? (followed by not so healthy toast and jam of course Wink )

ShimmeryPixie · 21/09/2011 18:40

Congratulations blue that's fantastic.

Congrats also to MissG . I understand that you are fine to continue with exercise (unless it makes you feel bad) so long as you've been doing it a while. Taking up new things is now allowed (hence I keep going to the gym despite inherent laziness in the hope that I can continue when I finally succeed).

I'm due on tomorrow, so we shall see. I expect to be on time however - I have zero zilch and nada in the way of symptoms.

The cat was getting better. He then got let out against and was in another fight (and lost again). So following the two operations he has now had - my credit card is £500 lighter in the space of a few weeks :( and he is going to have to learn the joys of being an indoor cat.

Sorry for the absence - work remains a bit mental. Currently sitting at my desk waiting for my boss to be free enough to have a meeting with me...

PieMistress · 21/09/2011 12:52

still have lots of creamy CM but am under incredible stress at work just now (hence brief post) so worried that even if I was up the duff then the stress will stop the bean implanting! Only 8dpo today will get CD21 results today too fingers crossed they are better than last month!

Summerbird73 · 21/09/2011 12:30

it was pie with the creamy CM - i just had the nausea, although now i am troffing like a pig!! Grin

babysaurus · 21/09/2011 12:18

Very quick post as its DH's birthday and we are off out shortly.

Hello to the newbies - I too am sorry you had to join us, but hope we can help you with your hand holding and general morale!

Hello to everyone else! Not much to report really. I suspect this may be ov week so am trying to make the most of it, but it's not that easy as we are both exhausted with all the house stuff! I also haven't told DH it's ov week as I don't want it to become a big deal. Last time we only managed the Monday and the Wednesday and that was enough so hopefully we can be lucky this time too (well, luckier as last time didn't exactly go to plan.)

Right, must dash. Am reading the thread on and off on my phone even if not posting much.

Missgiraffe1 · 21/09/2011 12:03

Blue toast is my friend, so I'll have some of that with my Brew thanks. Seem to be off sweet stuff Shock . We like dark lines! That's good to hear. I need to buy a dress for my FIL's wedding which is 4 weeks on Friday. Although I seriously doubt I'd be showing by then, the rapid bread consumption rate fact I am eating a bit more than normal means I am likely to have put on weight. Think I'm going to make an appointment with the personal shopper in Debenhams again, on the Saturday before the wedding, then do accessory shopping on the Sunday Smile

Marathon you're back! Sounds like you had a nice birthday. Happy belated birthday from the giraffes Smile . How exciting you're showing! I am so bloated after dinner. It feels like the several loaves of bread food I eat during the day saves itself up to join my dinner and create a massive evening bloat. Lovely.

Summer creamy CM and nausea Hmm Lol to you moshing about in there! Who's there with you?? Where are our other 2ww-ers??

Pebs welcome back. Sorry to hear still no AF, although at least she didn't spoil your holiday (and at least you still have sense of humour though [smile) FX the temp rises mean Ov!

Well, I went to bodypump for the first time since finding out. I spoke to the instructor, and she said it is perfectly safe for me to continue as I've been doing it for 2 years. But she advised I drop my weights (which I did, quite a bit) go easy on the squats, and to truct my own instincts. I was very conscious of not over-heating or getting out of breath so I didn't work anywhere near as hard as I usually would, but I still found it really tough. I was knackered! I don't want to stop exercising, and have googled loads, and read the official Les Mills pregnancy guide (and the other instructor had a baby a few months ago and she was doing classes until 3 weeks before she popped!) but I'm just wondering if this is a really a good idea?? Suppose it's an individual choice at the end of the day.

Summerbird73 · 21/09/2011 11:25

yayayayayaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

thanks v muchly i will have a cookie with my tea Grin

i can highly recommend ASOS for some lovely maternity gear, i got a really classy evening dress when i was PG with DS, it served me well for a couple of decent nights out.

marathon glad you had a lovely birthday, it is so exciting when the bona fide bump arrives

pebs fingers crossed for temp rises - yayyy

BlueCrane · 21/09/2011 11:17

marathon x-post! Glad to hear all well with you and that you've been able to venture out shopping! I have a bag of mat clothes in the loft which I'd already bought last time and just couldn't face taking back (I did take a couple of things back but with each 'what's the reason for your return?' question I was getting more upset so just bagged them and put them away for 'future' use so am looking forward to fishing some bits out, bra's etc, soon I think given progress in 'that' area Blush) Here's your stats in the list:

Until pasting this I hadn't realised how close marathon and IQ are!

Also totally agree with marathon that the PMA encouragement has really helped and I think this thread is totally fab! Has been such a life line over the last few months so just want to say a big THANK YOU to you all!!!

BlueCrane · 21/09/2011 11:06

Morning all... summer hang in there! CD26 14DPO and no AF is good! Sending lots of PMA your way to hold out until friday saturday before testing!

pebs welcome back from hols, glad you had a good time, grrr for no AF though glad she didn't spoil hols. Hope the temp rises do mean ov for you!!

Still totally bunged up and full of cold today but I POAS one of my Internet cheapies this morning and the line was definitely darker than Sunday so am Smile about that. I'll wait until Sunday to use another CB Digi and hopefully there'll be progression to 2-3weeks from conception! Currently 4+1 so still v v early days! Hmm Realised last night that if all goes well I'll be 10weeks when we go to New York for our friend's wedding...which is going to be a posh one...no idea what I'm going to wear as I'd bought a dress and some heels but think the heels are going to be too high (I'm not very good with heels normally!) and dress isn't going to be very flattering if I'm super bloated etc...can see me taking them back and going back to the drawing board! I also have another wedding in January too so ideally would be good to get something suitable for both but am a bit nervous (despite my PMA) of getting waaaay ahead of myself Confused Think I need to wait until after my early scan when hopefully I can feel a bit more confident going shopping?!?

shimmery, pie how are you both? Any sign of AF or POASing this week? Thinking PMA thoughts for you both too!!

I was going to bake you all some cakes but don't want to spread my germs around so popped to M&S and bought some nice cookies for you all instead to have with a morning Brew

MarathonMama · 21/09/2011 10:57

Hello all and welcome newbies!

Sorry for being awol for a few days, I had a surprise visit from some relatives for my birthday so haven't had chance to come online. So much seems to have happened! Firstly, massive congrats to Blue! Keep up the PMA Smile

Also, great to hear that LittleGiraffe's heart is beating away Grin

I can't believe how much this thread has changed over the last few months. It's really inspiring. Not just the BFPs but also all the PMA and taking control. It's lovely to be part of it.

No news here, I popped out last week so am now wearing maternity clothes. A great excuse for some shopping on my birthday, I didn't want to buy anything until I really needed it (I was 14 weeks when we had the mmc so had already bought a few bits that I ended up taking back, very depressing). I didn't show until 5 months with DD so I'm slightly concerned that I'm going to be the size of a house. Especially as I'm eating 6 meals a day Hmm I think I've started to feel some movement too but it's very early for that so it might just be wind Wink

Manda totally sympathise re. Virgin. Had something very similar with BT, spent a total of 22 hours on the phone to an Indian call centre (I kid you not). It culminated in a BT engineer visiting and having to call through to the Indian call centre to order a new hub. It was classic, they made him go through their troubleshooting list and he ended up shouting and shaking the home hub down the phone at them (the reason we had a problem was that the hub they sent us was broken, it rattled when you shook it but the Indians didn't have this on their list so they wouldn't send the engineer another one). we tried to tell them from the start that it was faulty (it was falling apart!) but they still insisted on making us check this, that and the other. Infuriating! Luckily we got a massive apology and some compensation.

I'm struggling to copy and paste the stats so here are my details:

wishing welcome to the thread, sorry for the reasons you have found us but we are all vaairy nice Wink and you have had me singing your username this morning Grin

manda loving your TV dramas, they are sooo frustrating. I see you are metalling about your likkle bean.. here snuggle down with a decaff Brew and a Biscuit and tell us all about it

sorry i am in a rush today, got someone work shadowing my colleague and she is practically right over my desk so little chance of MNing today Angry

However, i am CD26 and 14DPO - today the true metalling starts, i woke up feeling a bit nauseous but wonder if i am cherry picking symptoms Hmm AF could come anytime so here is hoping she stays away!

WishingIWasLucky · 20/09/2011 23:59

Manda and Blue, I really appreciate your warm welcome. I will no doubt lean on you girls when I am mentalling! Manda: I am experiencing something similar with our sky service. It's frustrating that when the calls do get sent to forest climes- they don't understand us and vice versa. Hate that horrible foreigness! Blue: I've had the central heating on for four hours during the day. It does feel quite cold at the moment- maybe due to the lack of sunshine? I'm off to bed to now! 'night 'night x

BlueCrane · 20/09/2011 21:32

manda LOL at your conversation re. the TV...how I hate making those calls when you know you're not going to get anywhere at all...we have had many a frustrating call with BT about our internet over the last few years! On a different note please come and join missg and I in the PMA corner of the mosh pit where there are psychedelic 70's happy flowers everywhere Smile and lots of cake to keep missg's appetite at bay, I seem to have lost mine at the moment!

missg the cold is proving a good distraction tactic at the moment but I wonder whether the sudden changes in our bodies do mean that we are more susceptible to colds etc at this time! I'm trying to embrace it and not moan too much Blush

wishing I re-read your post after I posted earlier and realised I hadn't fully acknowledged what you've been through after 2 years TTC Sad as others have said I really hope you get a sticky bean soon. This thread is fab for hand holding, metalling assistance and general keeping going!

Anyway...nighty night think my bed is calling!

MandaHugNKiss · 20/09/2011 21:02

Can only echo missg, wishing We welcome you wih open arms, albeit we wish you didn't need us, iyswim. Hope you get your stcky bean reallllly soon!

Well! I was thrown into the 1980's today... actually, even earlier than that because I didn't even have BBC1, 2 and ITV. Early morning, my cable tv and broadband vanished (not physically, that would be silly - I mean the service just went kaput) I called up my provider Virgin, the gits and I could hear my call was routed half way across the world (the slight echo-y line and forrin accent gave it away) The conversation went something like this:

Virgin Rep (in india) : Can I take your name?
Me: MandaHugNKiss
VRii: What is your problem MandaHugNkiss?
Me: My tv channels and internet have disappeared. I have error code 12/13 and 16 alternately displaying on the box. I've already tried reboot both the tv box and my router which hasn't helped.
VRii: Is there an error code on your screen MandaHugNKiss
Me: Uh.. yes. Well, no. THe screen is blank, it's on the box.
VRii: Is there a time displayed on your box, or an error code MandaHugNKiss?
Me: There's an error code.
VRii: What is the error code, MandaHugNKiss?
Me: it shows 12, 13 and 16.
VRii: Let me just run a check, MandaHugNKiss
Me: Ok
VRii: There are no issues in your area so we need a technician to come to you, MandaHugNkiss. FIrst available is thursday - 8-12, 12-4, 4-8, which slot would you prefer MandaHugNkiss?
Me: So, I'll have no service until at least Thursday!?!
VRii: I'm very sorry MandaHugNKiss there are no technicians available until Thursday. It will be a free of charge visit, MandaHugNKiss.
Me: But it must be a problem in the area? Why would both my tv box AND my router go at the same time? If it was a problem wih my box that the technician could fix, it wouldn't affect my router and vice versa, surely?
VRii: Have you checked all the wires are still connected MandaHugNKiss?
Me: I have had this service for nearly 15 years - the first thing I did was check the wires and reboot the boxes before calling you.
VRii: MandaHugNkiss, I apologise for the delay in being able to get a technician to you, would you like 8-12-
Me: Yes, the morning one is fine
VRii: Thank you for your call blah blah blah
Me:

Seriously? The thought of all that time with no tv or internet just about sent me into a coma from panic (which is a bad sign - how did I ever live before?)

Innyhoo, it all came back at about 3pm. No problem in my area, then, VRii? Oh, I think I was right and you were wrong!

In other news, I feel utterly paranoid this bean is not going to stick.

WishingIWasLucky · 20/09/2011 19:19

MissGiraffe- Thankyou for the warm welcome. Congratulations on your BFP. will read this thread from the beginning when I have a spare moment.

Missgiraffe1 · 20/09/2011 17:42

Afternoon all! I wrote and big catch up post earlier today, then closed internet explorer instead of minimising it! (as I needed to check a work e-mail) So, here goes again:

Smiley and wishing so sorry you have both found yourselves here Sad but you'd be hard pressed to find a more supportive bunch of ladies. I say it everytime a newbie arrives - I don't know what I would have done without this platform to vent and share my woes and worries, and the support (and occasional kick up the bum, no names mentioned Summer Grin) that helped me through the bad times. There have also been some giggles along the way. The PMA mantra of this thread is Chin Up, Boobees out (.)(.) and PMA all the way to that BFP, so we'll all be rooting for you and PMAing for you over however many months it takes.

Poppy no issue is too trivial or silly. It must be incredibly frustrating, especially when you're getting other symptoms suggesting Ov is just around the corner Angry Our bodies can be cruel sometimes. But yeah to fabulous Mums!

Pie Hope is a fabulous name Smile. I see you are symptom spotting like a true metaller? Creamy CM Hmm when are you testing?

Blue if you read back to when I got my BFP, I was exactly the same! The cold from hell, started with a sore throat for me. It seems really common actually. Was nice to read how you and Mr Blue are feeling quite chilled just now. I will join you in the PMA. I'm just taking one day at a time. I told my Bro, SIL and Dad yesterday, all delighted, then Mr Giraffe phoned his Mum when we got in - I could hear her screeching from the other room!

Summer am PMAing for you lady! Really hope evil AF doesn't get you this week. Can totally understand why you want to wait to test so wonlt be pestering you.... much Grin

Manda how are your? Are you still floating around in a caffiene-deprived haze? Grin
Wee baby R still up and down, apparently it can go on like this for up to 3 months. My cousin says she feels like daisy the cow, as she's been pretty much hooked up to a machine numerous times every day. At least she sounds in good spirits - considering.

Marathon and IQ hope all contineus to be well in mini-me land Smile. IQ, I am eating like a pig way too much. Have that nausea that goes away for a short time just after you eat, then comes back less than an hour later. I was Envy of your 3 course breakfast!

Hi to baby boobeez eve shimmery pebs cuttle hope I haven't missed anyone but need to move away from computer (it's making me feel a bit sick scrolling up and down!)
