Let's make some May babies

The end of July is drawing near; SWI with DP hasn't been as frequent as hoped; and I've decided to err on the side of caution.

So. Here's a thread for anyone else hoping to make a beautiful May 2012 baby.

I am 27 and TTC #1. Been on pill for an age so unsure of cycles. Only been trying for a couple of weeks - the more I type the more I note my wild optimism!!

Anyone else who knows more about this business than I do? Please come and give me some hope that a May baby might be at all possible :)

Quenelle, I'll be honest, I ALWAYS feel like killing someone in the office - usually my boss, who is a knob! :o

Kveta · 25/08/2011 10:29

well it looks like my BFP may have become a less P - started bleeding last night, so think I may be losing it. am feeling a wee bit sad, but quite philosophical about the whole thing. and there's always next month. am now annoyed that i wasted 3 tests :o will test again next week just to be sure it has actually gone, and this isn't just breakthrough bleeding. but mentally i feel it is the end for this one. may see you on future buses!!

Quenelle · 25/08/2011 10:23

Thanks for the commiserations folks. AF's not due until Monday but she's on her way. I can feel the PMT starting to build. I actually feel like I could kill someone in the office today.

Badger sounds like you have had to make some very tough decisions. You deserve problem-free TTC and pregnancy.

Sorry to hear you're out orangehead. I hope it happens for you soon and we don't meet on another bus (in the nicest possible way). Keep on running Smile

Festie I don't know what to think. Your DH is right, time will tell, but time doesn't go fast enough for us sometimes does it?

festiemum · 25/08/2011 10:08

Symptom spotting is where madness lies.... We all do it though :o

Well, I don't know what to think, and am pretty f-ed off all told.

This morning, FMU, sensitive test, nearly a week since af due and, as before the faintest, barely perceptible line ever. It's messing with my mind completely.

DH suggested I try to put it out of my mind, and give it a full week until I test again, and that is a very sensible suggestion, but I fear I may go bonkers in the meantime....

Who knows? My coil only came out last month, and I'm going by the bleed I had since then, so my dates could be completely out. I think I really am just going to have to wait and see. Grrrrrrr.... Angry

musicalmrs · 25/08/2011 08:00

Hi Cacacaz - in a very similar situation to you pill and cycle wise- almost identical date wise in fact! My sex drive has improved too, which has cheered up my DH (although after so much SWI he's probably regretting it a little!).

The DH and I decided we'd probably wait until mid Sept - mainly because I know a negative BFN would be more disappointing than the appearance of AF! However, I have a couple of HPTs arriving with my shopping on the 2nd, so I may well crack before then!

I was obsessively symptom spotting until yesterday, when a veil of calm descended upon me! I'm sure the obsession will return imminently though..

mrsshears · 25/08/2011 07:55

well i'm thoroughly naffed of this morning

I poas this morning at 8dpo and got a bfn,i really dont know why i do this to myself, that said i had always thought i would test today as i go on holiday tomorrow,so reckon i can excpect a visit from af now on my hols Angry

HeidiHole · 25/08/2011 07:47

cacacaz I would guess you could poas at the start of September about the 1st or 2nd? Symptom spotting gets obsessive doesn't it! I'm permanently at it!

Cacacaz · 25/08/2011 07:28

Greetings ladies!

Commiserations to those of you have had the return of the old witch Sad

And congratulations to all who have a BFP Grin

Now this is our first month of ttc, swi is going well thus far. Between being newly weds and coming off the pill my sex drive has improved, ten fold, much to dh delight!

Now I have no idea about my normal monthly cycle as I have been on the pill since I was 19, almost 10 years in total. I'm trying not to symptom spot, but my boobs are sore, my gums have been bleeding (my sisters did this when she was pregnant), I have been gorging on chocolate like there is no tomorrow. I logically know that these could all be symptoms of an impending Af, but I keep finding myself looking at signs and symptoms of pregnancy and eyeing up pregnancy tests in the supermarket. I'm becoming obsessed!

Im Not sure when I should do a test as I before the pill my periods were irregular, my withdrawal bleed arrived on the 5th of August. Do any of you have any idea when I should realistically POAS?

orangehead · 24/08/2011 22:59

Gosh sorry about dh Badger, can understand it being a difficult decision. But it is yours and dh decision. Although people like to put there opinions in they don't matter and should butt out Smile
sorry quenelle about af.
Well Im out, af arrived this afternoon, cant believe I am going on to month 9 Sad, think I might leave this buses for a couple of months. (That might not last, I might be posting back in a couple of days)
Wishing lots of bfp for you all

YeahThatsTheBadger · 24/08/2011 22:34

Sorry desperate, you asked about support for later. The disease has split his family somewhat as his parents knew his gran had it and that it was hereditary but never told anyone (apart from their friends at the time who were sworn to secrecy!). But my family will be supportive, practically. Emotionally right now? No way!! My mum doesn't do emotion. Must be why I am such a cold hearted old goat!

Feels better just typing these last two posts. Maybe that meditation helped after all! Grin

YeahThatsTheBadger · 24/08/2011 22:29

Thank you Smile
He's 30 and has no symptoms, thank god, and may never get any. Unfortunately there is no pattern to it and even though his mum and brother have it, it is extremely unlikely to develop the same as theirs. The only people who know are his brother, (cos he got tested at the same time,) my folks and brother and some of my close friends. But we haven't told anyone about trying for another baby cos people have such differing opinions; "You shouldn't have a child knowing they have a 50:50 chance of inheriting", "just go ahead, worse things could happen than Huntington's", "go for pgd ivf as you know you'll have a child without the disease", go ahead and then do cvs and terminate if they have the gene".
At the mo though we can focus on MIL, who hasn't got bad symptoms yet, and that takes our mind off it all. Anyway, this is for another topic, another thread... Smile

Oooh milder sounds promising!! Was it yours that were like risen pizza dough?? Need some more BFP's on this thread!

mildertduck · 24/08/2011 22:04

Shit, Badger, I'm so sorry about your husband. How's the short-term prognosis? I am gutted for you :(

mildertduck · 24/08/2011 22:02

10 DPO and OMG MY BOOBS. What are they doing?! I swear I swear I swear they have never felt like this before. I had to go to M&S at lunch to find a soft cup bra and am having to wear it under my PJs. Husband was only too happy to have a feel (I may have marched up to him, whipped off my bra and demanded he examine them because they feel odd Blush) but he reckons they are normal. But the insides of them feel tingly and... making themselves known. I mean, they're fairly sizeable norks anyway but I don't normally notice them as much as I have done today.

No nausea or dry heaving today (phew) but I just drank mint tea. Also I have fits of exhaustion then perk up again. Bah I'm getting really impatient now...

desperateoldie67 · 24/08/2011 20:30

Gosh Badger - so sorry to hear about DH's Huntingdon's. That's a rough one, I can understand why it's been such a big decision to try for another DC.

Will you have plenty of support for yourself for later on when things become challenging for him? How old is he, if you don't mind me asking? x

YeahThatsTheBadger · 24/08/2011 17:14

Nope. Does nothing for me.

Baseball bat and something breakable anyone??

Ahhhhhh! That's better. Smile

YeahThatsTheBadger · 24/08/2011 17:10

Oh no mama. :( Best of luck for next month.

gtr I know what you mean. They're EVERYWHERE! Another two (different) friends announced last night that they were pregnant. I am so happy for them but just very, very jealous! Would help if they knew we are trying and why it's such a big deal for us. (DH tested positive for huntington's disease at the start of the year and it's been a big decision to try for another dc).

And so, yoga positions everyone. Enter a state of zen-like calm and positivity, and meditate. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

GTR2882 · 24/08/2011 16:53

On the train home and already seen 2 babies and one pregnant lady!!! Argh no fair!!!! Why is TTC so god damn tricksty! :(

desperateoldie67 · 24/08/2011 16:26

desperateoldie67 · 24/08/2011 16:08

Fingers (but never legs) crossed for you spatelaxe :)

spatelaxe · 24/08/2011 16:06

hi guys

Well, I have done all I can (that was a fun 4 days)! and I'm playing the waiting game. I need to keep myself busy to stop thinking about it. I wonder how much of our physical symptoms are in our heads? I was convinced I was preggers last month with headaches, cramps, nausea and metallic taste in mouth but obviously wasn't. I hate this waiting and pretend symptoms

TTC number 2, AF due 5 Sept - please can you add me to the May bus!

Good luck with those BFP everyone xx

desperateoldie67 · 24/08/2011 16:03

Thanks for that Quenelle! :o :o :o

Quenelle · 24/08/2011 16:02
