Let's make some May babies

The end of July is drawing near; SWI with DP hasn't been as frequent as hoped; and I've decided to err on the side of caution.

So. Here's a thread for anyone else hoping to make a beautiful May 2012 baby.

I am 27 and TTC #1. Been on pill for an age so unsure of cycles. Only been trying for a couple of weeks - the more I type the more I note my wild optimism!!

Anyone else who knows more about this business than I do? Please come and give me some hope that a May baby might be at all possible :)

puzzle i'm on CD 18 and also bored already of the 2ww! its too early to have any symptoms (and I don't) so I can't even obsessively SS cos there are none there!

The HPT's are just sitting in my drawer waiting to be pee'd on!

Rusulka · 26/08/2011 11:39

Hi everyone!

Had a lovely anniversary yesterday just snuggled up on the sofa watching back to back episodes of Lost from the beginning- DH has drawn up a diagram so we can chart how everyone is linked in their back stories as we progress. (!)
No SWI though, as DH's leg hurt and he couldn't. (...)

Sorry to hear people have bad news-
Kveta the same thing happened to me last cycle, but I'm seriously doubting now whether I ever got the faint positive I thought I had... FX things work out for you. I'd go to the doctor's maybe in a couple of weeks, then if there was a baby, the heartbeat would be there, right? That would put your mind at rest.

Badger whether you want to TTC knowing about the huntington's is your business and nobody else's.
There was a good documentary about someone wanting to have a baby who had treacher-collins syndrome- www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b010n37y
They had the same options you were talking about, and though it's about a different issue, you might find it useful to watch. I think there's 4 days left to watch it through this link, or you could download it through the BBC iPlayer.
Hope it helps.

Meanwhile, I've been tracking temp, weeing on sticks, checking on cervix in less squeamish moments, and no OV as yet (CD12 today)
This morning when I got out of bed I nearly fell over I was so dizzy. Had to clutch the bed for a good 5 minutes before the room stopped spinning enough for me to go downstairs to the bathroom...

I'm never dizzy.
Unfortunately I know it's a pg symptom.
And with all the talk of breakthrough bleeding, now I'm wondering if maybe that's what I had last month, which would mean I might be pg, and then I could wee on another stick and ARRGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGH!!!!!
I don't need this!

Or maybe the ham I put in our sandwiches yesterday was a bit dodgy. DH was ok this morning though.

I've convinced myself that if I don't do something to encourage good karma I won't get pregnant... and I know I'm going to have to start eating sensibly and exercising to do it. It's so hard for me- I make all these great plans about what I intend to do, and it just never happens. I'm an emotional overeater and I automatically turn to sweeties and whatnot- my 5 food groups are sweets, chocolate, crisps, biscuits and cake, lol. I guess I should just break out the Zumba and get on with it. Sigh.

Whoops, wrote an essay.

puzzletree · 26/08/2011 11:11

Hello everyone, I'm still here and still feeling very unpregnant, no promising symptoms whatsoever, totally bored of the 2ww now. Anyone testing soon? We need some more BFPs!!!

GTR2882 · 26/08/2011 11:03

Many thanks Heidi i will instruct DH to get down to it one more time! We have to do it tonight, because he's working this weekend!! It's a hard life sometimes :)

GTR2882 · 26/08/2011 10:50

Ooooh chips - might to indulge! Well as of 4:30pm today i have 12 whole days off to enjoy, starting with a lovely week in Wales (hope the weather picks up) and then back home to finally tackle the house and make it sparkly clean :)

Hopefully by the time i return to work i will be upduffed Wink but not really holding out too much hope, as my body likes to play tricks on me and not actually ov some months - crossing everything that the cramps i have at the moment are a sign of impending ov and not just my body doing its own thing. Sigh..............why is everything so complicated!?!

loulou, i SS and i am not even in the 2WW yet Grin

HeidiHole · 26/08/2011 10:47

hmm gtr it's maybe not what your DH wants to hear but I'd SWI just one last time! If not tonight then maybe in the morning.

Then you can truly feel you've done everything you can. Obviously i'm not an expert or I wouldn't be on this thread i'd be preggers already! and you know your body best.

I do agree that if you've already OV then there is no need to carry on now, but what if theres a chance that you didn't OV yet? day 14 of a 29 day cycle is exactly when I'd expect your fertile time to be.

louloubellamozzarella · 26/08/2011 10:26

Hi there and happy Friday! I've been pretty quiet this week, mainly as I have still nothing, nada, niente to report. How boring!

Have been trying to force myself not to SS (symptom spot - thought I'd try to coin a new acronym like :) ) like crazy, so have stopped myself from posting around on here too often but that doesn't mean I haven't been obsessively lurking.

Only reportable TMI issue is CM- had some which was very thin and slightly pinkish a couple of days ago - lasted two days now is gone. No other symptoms apart from being horrendously bloated still. Is that an ov sign? Did think it was AF arriving but doesn't seem to be. Might do a test over the weekend, just for the craic - as I still don't know where my cycle is at, looks like I'll have to keep SWI reguarly and testing maybe every week or so.

Soo any news today people? I agree, the mood does seem to be a bit down in here. I for one will be indulging in a nice glass of Wine tonight down the pub and maybe some chips - what are your plans everyone? Oh and it's a bank holiday weekend. Hope the weather shapes up soon - it's pissing it down here at the moment and am meant to be going for a lunchtime run. Get the feeling that the day will end in frizzy hair :(

Hi Heidi, i am currently on CD14 of a normally 29 day cycle!

HeidiHole · 26/08/2011 09:34

GTR2882 what CD are you on now?

GTR2882 · 26/08/2011 08:10

Morning ladies

It's been a while, sorry to hear BFNs and bad news - fingers crossed for all you lovely ladies!!! I still don't know if I have even ov'd yet, tis driving me to drink (quite literally, had a few last night!!).

Anyway, my latest conundrum is this - i think that ov has either occurred or is just about to (have been having slight twinges and very mild af like cramps on and off) and i may (or may not) have had a positive on my OPK on CD11 (i think that this is too early but time will tell) and on CD13 - we have been at it like rabbits since Sunday and even managed a quickie last night before we went out!! Now, if i do ov today or tomorrow, should I still be having SWI or do you think it would be ok to have a couple of days off (poor DH does not know what's hit him!). It could be that i ov'd yesterday in which case there should be, theoretically speaking, enough of his swimmers up there to connect with eggy if she makes an appearance! And if i ov today, well again we had SWI yesterday so timing on that front should be enough!! My temps have risen over the last 3 days but FF has not detected ov yet, and my cervix seems to be moving back into a low position after being high(ish) for the last few days!

Sorry for the essay, just want to make sure i time everything to perfection so that i can catch that mystical BFP that i am searching for Grin

mrsshears · 25/08/2011 21:22

thanks desperate i will let you know Smile

desperateoldie67 · 25/08/2011 20:42

Have lovely hols mrsshears - see you when you get back...hopefully with a BFP! Fingers crossed :)

mrsshears · 25/08/2011 20:33

I'm off on my hols now,i wont be back until the 4th,AF is due on monday so time will tell.....

HeidiHole · 25/08/2011 15:44

Oh everything seems to be a bit 'down' at the moment. Sorry to everyone having a shit time of it. I'm thinking of you all and wishing it could be easier.

I think that we really really deserve a BFP on this thread soon! please let it be me, please let it be me

I'm just hanging out in the 2ww only about 3dpo at the moment though so nothing exciting to report :o

desperateoldie67 · 25/08/2011 14:02

Cheeky RIBS!! Apparently, yes it will, but seeing as I've only really been a modicum of sane for about 18 months of my (very nearly) 44 years, I'm not holding me breath! :o Can we try and stay off the topic of exploding zits though...I have a weak stomach at the best of times LOL!

Step AWAY from the pee sticks oh quacky one! :o

mildertduck · 25/08/2011 13:52

Oh kveta I really hope it's nothing to be worried about... fingers crossed for a good outcome.

Badger, I am indeed the one with the pizza dough boobs Grin - and they are still achey as fuck today. Felt a bit peaky this morning but having inhaled a sandwich I feel a bit better. My internet cheapies at home are singing sweet songs of 'pee on me! pee on me!' but I would feel so deflated (excuse pun) to have a no still, and I'm only 11 DPO so I shall be strong. STRONG I SAY.

It was just as well Tesco are out of First Response early tests, though. Oh, the shame.

Kveta · 25/08/2011 13:52

hi all, thanks for the positive thoughts!

DH is being lovely, i'm just a bit bewildered, but doubt there's much we can do. not sure i want the bother of a scan or anything - what will be, will be. i don't know if i should tell someone though? this is only the second time i've been pregnant so far as i know, and last time i got a baby out of it, so am not panicking yet. but am not sure if i should speak to a GP or midwife to get it on record that i've lost a pregnancy, or not worry about it until i'm pregnant again?

i think i'm 4 or 5 weeks btw, so there wouldn't be anything to detect with a TV scan yet.

oh well.

RIBS · 25/08/2011 13:34

Hahaha. Will it take just the 3 months???
I'l join the new bus and cu there. I will help lower the tone with pus filled white heads and sausage for sex stories!!

desperateoldie67 · 25/08/2011 13:22

Ah shucks RIBS that sucks. Come join us filthmongers on the June bus - though I'm not quite sure what I'm still doing there (apart from lowering the tone) given that I've been told not to ttc for the next three months until I'm less bonkers LOL! :o

RIBS · 25/08/2011 13:12

Im out!!! Angry Despite hopes being raised of spotting and implantation its turned out the old cow has just been taking her time to get here.
Oh well June/July might be better anyway. HHhmmmmf!!
Going to get a thermometer from amazon for basal temperature and start charting. Not sure how sucessful this will be - I may have to delegate to someone more orgainised - the dog perhaps or my 3 year old!

Kveta. with my DD, didnt know I was pg it was just bleeding and a positive test. Go to Dr's, they should refer you for a scan. I was 6 wks and there was a heartbeat. Wasnt convinced I actually was pg until I saw that!

Good luck to everyone!!!

XXX

festiemum · 25/08/2011 11:05

Quenelle I fear for your colleagues!! Wink

And yeah, thanks; it is just a case of waiting and seeing now. How twitchy am I gonna get?!!

festiemum · 25/08/2011 11:03

Oh Kveta, it's so horrible not knowing what's going on one way or t'other. That said; I had breakthrough bleeding at 6 and 11 weeks with my first; both with quite nasty cramps, and I was sure I was losing her. But she's now a bloody healthy 7 year-old - seems hard to believe in retrospect!
Fingers crossed it's just a bit of breakthrough - apparently it's very common. xxxx

Quenelle · 25/08/2011 10:54

desperateoldie67 I have to go into a long team meeting in a minute, God help them all.

Quenelle · 25/08/2011 10:53

Oh Kveta I so hope it is just breakthrough bleeding. How many weeks do you think you are? I had a bleed at 6 weeks and they found a heartbeat with a TV scan. Are you much earlier?

desperateoldie67 · 25/08/2011 10:31

Ah Kveta, so sorry to hear that, but hang in there, like you said, it may just be breakthrough bleeding. My mother apparently continued to have periods for the first 3 months or so when she was pregnant with me, so it took her a while to realise she was actually pregnant...and there's nothing wrong with me (twitch!) :)

Fingers crossed x
