Let's make some May babies

The end of July is drawing near; SWI with DP hasn't been as frequent as hoped; and I've decided to err on the side of caution.

So. Here's a thread for anyone else hoping to make a beautiful May 2012 baby.

I am 27 and TTC #1. Been on pill for an age so unsure of cycles. Only been trying for a couple of weeks - the more I type the more I note my wild optimism!!

Anyone else who knows more about this business than I do? Please come and give me some hope that a May baby might be at all possible :)

fx Rusulka for tomorrow.
A line is a line how exciting 3cb
Dont worry catsy I have had that before, when testing early fmu can make a difference

Rusulka · 12/08/2011 17:05

Catsycat that sounds good to me! I echo what other people have said, I don't think you can get false positives.

I understand why you're being cautious after your MC. Good luck for tomorrow's test.

3CB I hope your results are good in the morning. A line is a line!

I'm testing tomorrow too... 14 hours and counting. Going to actually crack out a digital one as well as my usual internet cheapie in case we need back up!

Trying to keep myself busy as I'm practically foaming at the mouth with all this waiting, it's doing my crust.

Think we can get in the Guinness world records for synchronised POAS?
They probably wouldn't print it...

Lakeland have a garden sale on, I'm going to mooch online to keep distracted.

Fingers crossed for us all tomorrow!!!

Catsycat · 12/08/2011 17:00

Thanks everyone! I have to report that I may have raised hopes prematurely - I had to take the cat to the vet, so popped to the pharmacy on the way home and just happened to buy more tests.... I got a BFN. Could be because it wasn't morning wee, or maybe the tests this morning were wrong. Confused Must stop testing...

Mama5isalive · 12/08/2011 16:29

ohhhhhh i like good news - for all those who are testing - good luck fingers - Quenelle, 3cb - crossed for you - Catsycat - im smiling for you and am praying for a big fat + for you& your u soo deserve it, my old other thread buddy)

im off to have a nap!!!!!!!

threecurrantbuns · 12/08/2011 16:19

Just got home and caught up big congratulations catsy crossings everything for you. I have felt a bit rough this week so just tested and hot a faint line, will test again in the morning but very excited and terrified x

Quenelle · 12/08/2011 15:55

Ooh tentative congrats Catsycat. I understand why you don't want to get too excited but a line is a line is a line and all that... I thought you could get false -ves but not false +ves?

I'll keep everything crossed (except my legs of course) for you.

orangehead · 12/08/2011 15:45

Congrats catsy, thats fantastic. Fx crossed for you I now it difficult it can be after a mc. If you dont mind me asking, is this something new you keeping the remains after mc? There was never that option after my mc's but the last one was 11 yrs ago.

MammaInTheMaking · 12/08/2011 15:25

Wowee catsycat this is really exciting news. I have lots of fingers crossed for some really happy news for you and your family xxx

Catsycat · 12/08/2011 15:10

POAS this morning and got a line. PO Another S (different make) and got another line. Not the darkest lines, but lines all the same, DH could see them too.

Feeling Shock Confused :) and :( all at once.

Am 7 or 8 DPO and not due on till Sunday (23 day cycle). Was planning to have day 3 blood tests next cycle... Stopped ttc about 3 days before ov! Have been weeing like crazy for the last few days, have had quite a bit of CM and then felt very mildly queasy yesterday morning and this morning, so decided to test.

Hoping a line this early is a good sign, and not a false + (tests were from Home Bargains, the first one I did was a 3 for 99p job!!!). Will retest when I have more tests - I've run out now (did tests wednesday and thursday too which were BFN)!

I know there is so much that could go wrong at this point - am terrified after my mc (6 weeks ago). I only picked up the remains from my mc from the hospital on Tuesday - haven't even buried them yet! When I saw her on tuesday (not thinking I had any chance of being pg) the EPU mw said to phone her at 6 weeks, and make an appointment for an 8 wk scan. So if this really is a pg, not just dodgy cheapo tests, I am telling myself it is only another 5 weeks to wait till the scan. Hope I can avoid going insane before then.

Am expecting to test tomorrow and get a BFN though...

Quenelle · 12/08/2011 14:04

It's not often I'm impressive at something so am feeling proud of my resolve now Smile It's only because I'm such a wuss about being disappointed.

MammaITM if I was a week late I would know there was something up because I'm very regular. I have heard plenty of stories of people getting BFNs after AF is due but they were in fact pregnant.

mildertduck · 12/08/2011 13:00

I caved and tested yesterday - 'twas a no. On the bright side, I'm far less crampy following more SWI last night. So that's good news.

MITM I sympathise - I have wanted kids for ages and now we are trying and I have no idea what is going on with my body. I don't take kindly to feeling this out of control... quenelle I'm impressed with your resolve!

orangehead · 12/08/2011 12:43

Well done for holding out on poas, dont think I have ever waited longer than 1 day late and often poas before af due. But a few of my pregnancies I have had bfp 4 days before af due. So I often think well it showed up early then it should do now. Thank goodness for ebay cheapies otherwise it would be a expensive addiction Smile.
Feeling more calmer and rational now, spent most of the morning crying think they might be a bit of hormones going on as well. Or at least I will blame it on that

Mama5isalive · 12/08/2011 11:37

Mammaitm - liking the name!!!!!!
i remember in may was due the 27th May 2011 tested a day after the royal wedding and real dark lines appeared - 1st morning pee so its undiluted.
I actually saved mines and had to go out and buy mines had none in my home.
as soon as i tested the lines came fast that was on the £1 shop cheapies and then the CBd test!!!!!! all crossed for you xxx

Rusulka · 12/08/2011 11:33

orangehead the only reason we managed epic sex 5 days in a row is because DH had some holiday from work. When he's working, he says he's too tired and not in the mood for sex- so if we haven't managed it this month, it's going to be a bloody nightmare trying to conceive!

I get really pissed off with him all the time, and usually end up saying something to put him off- last night I was feeling quite amorous, but stupidly pointed out that his boys don't match in either size, weight or consistency, so naturally now he thinks he's infertile (and no, he wasn't in the mood). Whoops.

Really hope we've managed it, if for no other reason than to stop his paranoid obsessing!

AF overdue by 3-4 days now, was feeling quite confident until I checked my diary and realised the same thing happened in May (d'oh), but if I get through today ok..... EeEeEeeeeE!

Managed not to POAS or POABOS this morning so feeling well chuffed at my resolve.

Ooh! Piano's here!

MammaInTheMaking · 12/08/2011 10:54

Rusulka i hope i'm one of these people you speak of. Or someone who needs to be a week late to show up on a test. I'm praying that the internet cheapies will have plopped through the letterbox when i get home coz i'm desperate to test!!! Felt very negative about it all on the way into work. A woe-is-me moment where i felt so bl**dy annoyed that my 'set the clock to it' cycle has decided to go haywire the first month we agree we are going to start trying. I've wanted a baby for sooooooo long, get the green light and BANG! loads of uncertainty and confusion. ggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Have been off the pill since November last year so definitely nothing to do with that.

Argh!

Quenelle def agree with you on not testing early. It just sets us up for disappointment. Do you think a week late because that means something is defo going on? Is there chances for a test to still be negative after 2-3 days late? I'm trying to cling onto a bit of hope here!

Mama5 Just imagined me sticking my legs in their air in the dark without DP noticing has made me giggle. :o

festiemum · 12/08/2011 10:43

Thanks Quenelle. I must say, I admire your restraint! I don't think I've ever waited till after AF was due. I think sometimes it's easy to forget that TTC puts our OHs under a lot of pressure, and they have performance related issues that we don't even have to think about. My ex (father of my DC) had terrible trouble 'producing the goods' all three times we TTC; he obviously felt the pressure!

Mamma5; glad your little soldier was able to rise to the occasion!! :o

Mama5isalive · 12/08/2011 10:29

im still feeling these pains and now wondering if i should go gp or wait for it to pass, 2 days rolling into 3 of ov-ing style pains aint funny no more!!!!!
SWi was a mission Dh came bed with headache but after 1hrs managed to
" do it for the team" ahhh bless him! room was so dark dont think he even noticed my legs where up in the air!!!!!!!!

Mama5isalive · 12/08/2011 10:25

Good morning - Oh orangehead - i do hear you with the SWI mission when your soilder is not preparing for battle!( DH was sleeping but then surprising he just got the energy to see in the Battle!!!!!!!!!
i suppose the pressure sometimes can really spoil the "mood" but dont worry just explain and tell him how your feeling about it all.
T.C - when i tested i did get results from the cheapies but couldnt believe it so still went out and bought CBd - and was in Shock about the results-

Our codes are -

  1. TTC and to get on that bus!
  2. SWI and then legs in the air for 3 mins! Hmm
  3. to try not to test too early to avoid seeing the bfn. Sad
4.to relax and wait for it to happen so we can sing " im pregnant" in glee style! Grin 5.to avoid all negative thoughts and sit back and enjoy the ride!Brew
Quenelle · 12/08/2011 10:19

Yes I think it's the same stuff orangehead.

TTC is a bugger for putting us all under pressure and I think men often have even more trouble than us dealing with it. They are quite fragile things after all.

Quenelle · 12/08/2011 10:15

x-posted festie. Glad your symptoms and craziness haven't abated. still a few days until you have missed your AF I see.

orangehead · 12/08/2011 10:15

We have conceiveplus which I think is very similar. However Im always up for action, I have quite a high sex drive but dh doesn't. I am angry about the baby thing but also upset as it makes me feel rejected and like he doesn't want me

Quenelle · 12/08/2011 10:07

Morning all.

Hi kinkydorito so you got updiffed on CD8 before? Was that just a freak cycle or is that your usual ov date? Good luck this month anyway.

mskate the heartburn sounds promising, waking up with it in the middle of the night was one of my very early signs with DS. Still a few days to go until you have missed AF so plenty of time for a BFP.

orangehead DH tried saying he was too tired once but got short shrift Grin I highly recommend Preseed if you haven't got the energy for a full-on bonkfest. I guess it's important to make the effort to have the bonkfests at other times in the cycle so it's not always just 'climbing on' for the sake of TTC. I can't say we have the energy for them often though, DS still keeps us pretty short of sleep.

Tibbycat I have only ever used CBDs but am not one for frequent testing (I don't cope with disappointment well). I might try a cheapie this time, but not before AF is about a week late. I never test early in case it's a chemical pg.

orangehead · 12/08/2011 10:00

Im so mad I feel like going to buy a jug and a turkey baster, throwing it at him and telling him if he cant be arsed with me at least provide a sample. Staying on the right side of crazy festie think am out too.
[disclaimer: Im not actually going to do this just feel like it]

festiemum · 12/08/2011 09:55

Oh orange, I do sympathise! As I mentioned earlier in the thread; my dp was 'too tired' on a couple of occasions this month at a fairly crucial time! I don't think they get it frankly. I've been a stroppy cow at times because of it!

In my world; ' operation 'convince yourself you're up the duff' continues apace. I seem to have every bloody symptom going, but I'm only 8dpo, so far too early to test (hasn't stopped me though Blush).

Honestly, if I'm not pg, then I fear for my sanity if I'm able to conjure up this many convincing symptoms! Shock

Hope you are all well this morning - ov-ers are getting in plenty of SWI ; TWW-ers are managing to stay on just the right side of crazy (that's me out then!) and POAS-ers get a definitive result soon! :) :) :)

orangehead · 12/08/2011 09:11

How many of your dp/dh will swi even though they might not be in the mood? I am getting really pissed of with dh. Think I am on the verge of being an irrational cow and exploding at him. I have been trying to be relaxed with him about it, but as we are now on month 8 as it is not looking very hopeful for this month I am getting really annoyed. We have had some months where we have done everything we could but also some months that it has been a bit hit and miss.
