The end of July is drawing near; SWI with DP hasn't been as frequent as hoped; and I've decided to err on the side of caution.

So. Here's a thread for anyone else hoping to make a beautiful May 2012 baby.

I am 27 and TTC #1. Been on pill for an age so unsure of cycles. Only been trying for a couple of weeks - the more I type the more I note my wild optimism!!

Anyone else who knows more about this business than I do? Please come and give me some hope that a May baby might be at all possible :)

Congratulations! How wonderful for you, mythical

I'm off, folks - I've spent the whole of the summer holidays turning myself into a mental case and am going mumsnet cold turkey. I've enjoyed your company and want to say good luck to all of you. Xx

mythical · 31/08/2011 09:31

hey everyone. i haven't been posting on this thread but been lurking on it for a while!
yesterday was 12 dpo and i had some odd cramps so i went to check if period arrived early and thought i'd do a test. 7 tests later still cannot believe it. did a clearblue digital this morning and it clearly says "pregnant 1-2" so it is starting to sink in. Husband isn't very ttc-savvy so his reply after seeing the test was " WHAT? HOW ?? how can they know if we're having more than one yet?!?!" :o
deu date is around the 9th of may.
good luck to all you lot

notnowImreading · 31/08/2011 08:17

Well, I'm not quite out because AF isn't here yet, but I ran out of superdrug tests yesterday and am still resolutely coming up BFN on the other type of test. It's only so long I can go on choosing to believe only what I want to see. If AF is coming,
I want it to come now so I can have a big glass of wine! I've been so good this month - no alcohol, hardly any caffeine - and it's rubbish. Everything I like to drnk has one of those two in there! Water is boring.

I have to say, I've completely messed with my own head coming on here so often. I think maybe I should take a very back row corner by the emergency exit seat on the June bus.

Minshu · 30/08/2011 22:32

Just popping back in after a couple of weeks. So sorry festie and kveta :(

Pleased to see the BFPs and hope there will be more for this bus.

I'm not hopeful - very little SWI for one reason and another, a very uncomfortable bout of thrush, and no symptoms to speak of that aren't typical pre-menstrual for me (I have sore boobs every month and cry at the drop of a hat all the time since getting pg with DD nearly 3 years ago). Must try harder next month.

Rusulka · 30/08/2011 20:23

Back after 4 days away and it's all happening!

Whispered congrats to those who FX have a BFP, commiserations to those who haven't, and hot water bottles and chocolate for those that thought they were, but weren't.

I've been peeing on my ovulation sticks every day and charting my temperature, and my two darkest lines were Sunday and yesterday, managed to convince DH to SWI on Sunday while we were there, but futons are horribly uncomfortable... still, he managed it, I had used pre-seed, and hopefully we'll have some brief shenanigans tonight. I just hope it's enough...

Off for another late night Lost marathon... why can't DH's lust for me be as insatiable as his lust for TV

Mama5isalive · 30/08/2011 18:10

Ohhhhh good luck - horseygirl1 & not now- i pray all turns out + for u both!
Kveta- be kind to yourself you have suffered a loss, and you are allowed to mourn it so!hope you get over the cold quickly also!

Puzzletree- climb a board the June thread i'll save you a seat next to me!
Duke748 - june bus stops at all stops climb aboard!!!!!

duke748 · 30/08/2011 16:36

I'm out for this month. But good luck to all those still in the running.

puzzletree · 30/08/2011 16:09

Oh thank goodness there are some more BFPs (or at least little Ps), congratulations!!!!
Needed to hear some happy news as I'm in a right mood today, the boys have been terrors, am getting none of my to do list done, it's raining, and now AF has turned up. So off to the June bus I guess, but good luck everyone still on the May bus.....

MrsGrumpWantsABump · 30/08/2011 15:08

Keeping my fingers crossed notnowImreading, I really hope that faint line turns into a BFP!

Kveta, I hope you feel better soon. Sad

I'm doing my first 2ww, although I'm not holding much hope. I've just printed off some more charts, hopefully I'll get the hang of this charting malarky in the months to come.

The practise round is over, June bus here I come! Grin

Kveta · 30/08/2011 14:04

notnow I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! hope you'll be the exception to the rule!

congrats to all the other BFPs and FaintPs!

I now have a stinking cold to go with the miscarriage. my body clearly hates me! I'm still quite shocked at how uncomfortable and bloody it was at only 5 weeks or so. I really cannot imagine how grim it must be at later stages. :( annoyingly, even though I KNOW it's not a big deal and that worse things could happen, I keep bursting into tears at the drop of a hat. stupid hormones Angry I want to tell people too, but equally don't want to say anything to anyone. It is confusing.

oh well, better get rid of the cold then I can start hassling DH to TTC again. need to get back in the sadlle, so to speak!

HorseyGirl1 · 30/08/2011 14:01

Just see how it goes - leave it for a little while maybe? Try testing on Friday if that's what you want to do? Then it will all be stronger result. x

HorseyGirl1 · 30/08/2011 13:52

Tummy feels sort of fluttery if that makes sense - no stabby pains like normal before AF. Had bleedy nose yesterday and fluttery tum yesterday... don't want to test though, was convinced last month (bleedynose, sickish, tender boobies and tired) and then the Beeaich turned up after all. A bleedy nose was a symtom for me before but it has also turned into a Af symtom sometimes this year. Dont' want to test and then be disappointed. AF due on Friday approx. so will only test if she still hasn't arrived on Sunday. HOpe SS madness isn't too crazy for you all xx

notnowImreading · 30/08/2011 13:39

I'm on a down on the rollercoaster at the moment. Just been looking back over the thread and all the faint-but-positives ended after a week or so. Maybe I had better control myself after all.

Mama5isalive · 30/08/2011 12:45

ohhhhhh congrats to MrsSet & NOTNOW faint + is still a + yehhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

musicalmrs · 30/08/2011 12:36

Congratulations notnow - How exciting! And Mrs too - BFP madness here today!

I'm not testing for a bit to give AF a chance... staying away from anywhere that sells HPTs..

notnowImreading · 30/08/2011 11:35

Well, Bill peed on the stick and even after 10 mins there is no sign whatsoever of any evaporation line - he's definitely not pregnant! The amazing corollary is that I. Might. Be. A. Little. Bit. Pregnant. oh my God....

notnowImreading · 30/08/2011 11:14

Luce, poor you - what an ordeal. Well, enjoy the view from the back seats, put your feet up and let someone bring you a nice cup of tea. Take it easy this month. Lots of us here know how hard it is after mc.

notnowImreading · 30/08/2011 11:12

Mrs, that sounds really (pardon the pun) positive. Congratulations!

notnowImreading · 30/08/2011 11:11

I am still in a quandary. Did FMU test with the superdrug stick again today and found a very faint line after 4 minutes, darkening to reasonably visible after 8 mins. Nothing at all on the cheapie amazon tests. We're doing a control test next: my husband is going to wee on one of the superdrug tests as soon as he's stored up enough wee. Then we'll look for the evaporation line and see what's what. Science in the home!

Luce2006 · 30/08/2011 10:09

Morning! I hope you don't mind me hopping on the bus and sitting on one of the back seats
I was on the April bus and got a BFP after 22 months of tears, blood tests,MRI scans and drugs. Sadly I miscarried while on holiday at 6 weeks. We are not actively trying this month but we are not preventing it either so we'll just wait and see what happens. If it was to happen it would be a mid-May baby
Good luck to all of you testing and congratulation to all of you who got a BFP

MrsSET · 30/08/2011 06:20

Another feint line for me this AM so deciding after 3 that I should take the happy hint?! Have another 20 left so am sure I'll use them in the coming days and weeks to be doubly sure (waste not want not!) but am really happy :)

Thanks for the advice and good luck to others on here.

Mama5isalive · 29/08/2011 22:56

Good luck to those who are testing!!!!! no pressure can we please have some positives pleassssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!
just found out another person is expecting im just gutted, she dont want kids yet!!!!

notnowImreading · 29/08/2011 21:15

Oo-er Mrs! We can be test buddies. Updates in the morning please.

MrsSET · 29/08/2011 20:41

Hi there - in a similar position to NotnowImreading (any update?!).

My cycles have flipped from 36 down to 23 days and but averaging 31/33 so basically I don't exactly know when my period would be due!

My last period was on 29 July and I ovulated on 14 Aug (so 15 days ago).

I assume my period would have been due this weekend and have done 2 tests with Internet cheap tests today and have had the faintest of faint lines on them (literally holding up to the light!). The one I did this morning dried slightly stronger but it says you should discard the result after 10 mins so I am not sure to believe this or not? The one just now is fainter.

But the weirder thing is that I don't feel ANY different at all - nothing. I have biggish boobs and would expect them to have changed?!

Anyway, will test again tomorrow AM but as you can imagine the wait is killing me so any guidance either way would be gratefully received!

Thanks!

notnowImreading · 29/08/2011 17:00

I asked on a different thread how faint a line was too faint and the words of wisdom there were quite muted anti-over-excitement. I don't want to listen to the voice of reason - it's nicer here!
