Let's make some May babies

The end of July is drawing near; SWI with DP hasn't been as frequent as hoped; and I've decided to err on the side of caution.

So. Here's a thread for anyone else hoping to make a beautiful May 2012 baby.

I am 27 and TTC #1. Been on pill for an age so unsure of cycles. Only been trying for a couple of weeks - the more I type the more I note my wild optimism!!

Anyone else who knows more about this business than I do? Please come and give me some hope that a May baby might be at all possible :)

Hi everyone, Can I join the club purleeease.
Cup of tea, and some chocolate fingers anyone?

Im 37 TTC#2 AF due between 22nd Aug 12th Sep - Vague I know.

Having SWI every other night for a hell of a long time as not sure if/when ovulating. I reckon keep at until something happens.
My little brain is on hyperdrive, came off pill in Jan and bought boots out of PG tests all with BFN (obv!!)

Watching for symptoms like a hawk, but its tempting when constantly knackered to think its bun in the oven time. When its just working/looking after child house/dp not getting enough sleep cos having it off.
However, last nite I felt a little tickle downstairs (it wasnt dp!!!) I felt that when conceived DD1. But TBH it could of just been wind! Blush

Am giving out positive thoughts to everyone! x

desperateoldie67 · 18/08/2011 14:01

Well Catsy I'm not sure I would entirely rule yourself out just yet then if AF hasn't arrived in full force and effect, and especially as you've had faint +s on pg tests. Hang on in there. Fingers crossed!

And I think you don't need to add the (eek) after your name anymore Quenelle as I'm nearly 44 and so the oldest of us 'geriatric' trying-to-be-mums! You're positively a spring chicken honey! :)

Catsycat · 18/08/2011 13:51

Hi folks. Thanks for the nice messages after my previous post. Truth is I have no clue what's going on.

Had the spotting on monday night which I believed was AF, but since that, nothing! All pg tests were coming back -, then this am, got a really faint +. It looks very, very faint (could almost miss it), but appeared in time not to be evap, and appears to have some pink colour. Completely freaked out and went to the GP (not my regular one, he is on holiday). She did another test (not fmu) and of course it was - ! She said the other tests must have been faulty (on three different brands of test???? Hmm) She said a + wouldn't show up until 14 DPO, I couldn't have been pg at all, and was probably just about to have a "normal" period. 5 days late. After 3 faint + pg tests. She was very nice, but I felt it was a waste of time. Even if it was a chemical pg, I want it recorded on my notes. 7 weeks after a mc, this is so not what I need.

Hope your ankle is OK loulou, and that you have a better day (without any ignorant comments) tibby.

desperateoldie67 · 18/08/2011 13:49

Gah, sorry to those having rotten days/weeks. Know the feeling. 12DPO today and going kerazy! I'm not sure if I'm symptom-spotting or actually just symptom-imagining! Well, I guess I'll know next when when the Old Hag either shows her face, or doesn't....

Quenelle · 18/08/2011 13:35

You have all my sympathy mildertduck I'm about 4DPO too and going ever so slightly bonkers with every little twinge.

GTR2882 · 18/08/2011 13:27

pinkapples I am with you - I think I am due to O on 27th/28th (would be around CD 14/15) but not sure as I didn't O at all in June/July cycle and so far my OPKs are negative and CM on the creamy side so don't really know what's going on with my body at the moment - not very helpful for this TTC malarkey!

It's all very frustrating!! FX for you :)

pinkapples · 18/08/2011 13:07

Hey.. What days are you generally ovulating? I know everyone if different jet wondered what the general consensus was ish? I'm on cd15 now and neg opk's since day 10 however I might not even ovulate this
Month (it's the first month nice lap drilling... We'll see Smile

mildertduck · 18/08/2011 12:57

I need a hug :(

I am having a horrible horrible week at work and I'm about 4DPO and I feel sick and shaky but I can't decide if it's related to operation duckling or if it's because of work. Sob! I just ate but I don't feel any better.

I think I have v little chance of getting on the bus this time around but I can't help really, really hoping we've cracked it first time.

Quenelle · 18/08/2011 10:31

Morning louloubella my head is also being done in. Operation KUMQUAT ended on Tuesday and I am now firmly in Two Week Wait Madness. Today I'm feeling quite down because I'm not feeling any definite pg symptoms. I have boobage feelings that could just as likely be PMT and twinges in my groinall area that could just as likely be hip flexor pain from running at the age of 42. I still had a bit of a dicky tummy today but I think that's still the after effects of the Boots Conception Support - the metallic taste has gone though.

And I'm only 4DPO...

Tibby sorry about what happened to you yesterday. As ChocolateWindmill says it's probably because of the the tunicy top.

I hope you had a wonderful day yesterday Festie. And perhaps a nice BFP this morning to mark your first full day of married life...?

louloubellamozzarella · 18/08/2011 10:06

Morning all. I'm feeling a bit more positive today! How's everyone's operation KUMQUAT etc etc going?

Just realised I've forgotten my four year anniversary with DP - oooops! He didn't remember either - how bad is that Blush.

Ok so along with a snuffly cold and tummy cramps, tiredness and bloating, can I add forgetfulness to my phantom pregnancy signs?! Starting to wish I could forget that I'm TTC at all - I am an overthinker at the best of times but this symptoms business is doing my head in!

Welcome Sn0wGoose
Sorry your having crap day tibby, I find it so rude when people comment about you being pregnant unless they know you are. I have been asked if I am are really horrible times. Hope you feeling better soon.
Loulou that not good

AstroNess · 17/08/2011 19:12

Ok well if I'm not preggo I certainly look it with being so bloated. Probably AF coming to visit. Cow.

ChocolateWindmill · 17/08/2011 18:38

Happy wedding day festie!

Hello to everyone new fingers andntoes crossed for you all!

Thank you everyone for being so lovely to me the other day - still feeling rotten but have taken a day off work and DH has been wonderful in making me cups of tea and giving me shoulder rubs so I really can't complain!

Oh Tibby that must be so annoying :-( last month when I was convinced I was going to get a BFP and feeling horrendously bloated I got offered a seat on the tube by someone who glanced at my tummy then my face then offered me a seat. Felt rubbish about it the next day when AF came along, but no one has offered me a seat since then, so I'm putting it down to tunic-y tops rather than carrying extra ££!!!

louloubellamozzarella · 17/08/2011 17:31

Aw poor you Tibby. That woman sounds a bit presumptuous!! I would try not to look too far into it though if I were you - she might not have meant anything - but if she did, she needs to get her facts checked!!

If it makes you feel any better, I've just rounded off a crappy day (shattered but with loads of work to do) by falling down the stairs outside my flat giving myself a lovely scraped ankle. It's one of those days that just needs to end.

I'm also feeling bleurgh due to bloating. I think mine's just down to eating way too much bread and rubbish these past few weeks though Blush. There was an article the other day in the Daily Mail about the things behind bloating which was interesting... yes I KNOW it's DM but did have some interesting suggestions!

Tibbycat · 17/08/2011 14:14

Crap day :( didn't know if I should smile or cry. I've put weight on errantly and decided to go for the smock look to cover up, I carry it all on my tummy (at the front) and someone at work commented and thinks I'm pregnant. I asked if she could his the door as was carrying a big box. She's actually pregnant and I said 'how are you'. She replied " fine....how are you (with a you too, lots of enthusiasm way) you should be careful carrying a big box like that"

The moment passed bug to I go back get her? Maybe I'm reading into it. I'm OV and so bloated! we're ttc with daily SWI but I doubt you'd see anything yet even if I were. I'm sure it's fat and bloat Sad

X

pinkapples · 17/08/2011 14:13

Think we'll go To every other day, have just got some pre seed and a ovatel so hopefully that will help if my body ever decides to ovulate!!! I don't know when my fertile period is if any so... Ever other day will do I think thanks ladies

Sn0wGoose · 17/08/2011 13:41

Wow, that's some very enthusiastic SWI, notnow! ;)

notnowImreading · 17/08/2011 13:28

Every other day is good - my doc even said every 3rd day as a rest gives the sperm some time to build up some energy. Don't know about you lot but have been doing it every day for 9 days now (holiday) and am exhausted! Had to have a rest day yesterday as thought I had dislocated my hip after Monday. Back on the job today though. Yes sir, Sergeant NotNow reporting for duty sir!

GTR2882 · 17/08/2011 13:22

pinkapples I have read that sperm can survive in fertile conditions for up to 5 days so every other day outside of this should be ok and maybe everyday during your fertile period (just to make sure) Wink

pinkapples · 17/08/2011 13:15

All this SWI I don't know what else to think about it's now cd14 and we have swi'd everyday so far from cd10 although I haven't ovulated at all the whole 11 months we've been ttc but maybe this month. Going to go to every otherday as the pressure is killing dh bless him is every other day alright do you think?? As I may not even ovulate this month I don't want to overdo it hmmm... Everyday or every other day... That is the question x

GTR2882 · 17/08/2011 12:22

I hear you Sn0wGoose - if only my DH was the same; he thinks that we do it once and that's it - we have conceived! Not that he complains if we have to do it again Grin.

I have just ordered some Pre-Seed, have heard it works wonders, so going to give that a go this month to see if i can board that May bus for sure :)

Sn0wGoose · 17/08/2011 11:44

GTR2882 same here!! DH thinks we just need more, he won't be told about ovulation windows etc etc, sigh

Sn0wGoose · 17/08/2011 11:43

Hi all, can I have a ticket please?
August AF due in 2 days but got a BFN today so I'm jumping off the April Bus before it crashes Sad. This will be cycle 6 TTC, husband still certain we're just not SWI enough Hmm but I'm trying to push him to cut down on caffeine (he is a pro-plus-a-holic)

Sn0wgoose(27) TTC1, AF due 16 Sep

GTR2882 · 17/08/2011 10:32

Thanks orangehead, louloubellamozzarella and Quenelle for the welcome!! Never thought TTC would be this stressful or complicated. Thank God for this thread!! DH does not understand the full mechanics of it all!!

Quenelle · 17/08/2011 10:14

Happy Wedding Day festie Wine I hope you have a lovely day. Sorry the test was inconclusive, it wasn't a BFN though...

Sorry AF arrived Catsycat Sad

puzzletree you're at the same point in cycle as me. We SWI last night and both of us were yawning away as we got into bed, not at all conducive to energetic lurve making. I've told DH we've done all we can do this month, I think he's quite relieved.

Welcome aboard GTR2882 and mrsshears, grab a tiny bikini and a cocktail and join us bathing beauties on the deck.
