Let's make some May babies

The end of July is drawing near; SWI with DP hasn't been as frequent as hoped; and I've decided to err on the side of caution.

So. Here's a thread for anyone else hoping to make a beautiful May 2012 baby.

I am 27 and TTC #1. Been on pill for an age so unsure of cycles. Only been trying for a couple of weeks - the more I type the more I note my wild optimism!!

Anyone else who knows more about this business than I do? Please come and give me some hope that a May baby might be at all possible :)

Congratulations Cosmic - wonderful news :o

notnowImreading · 18/08/2011 17:04

Congratulations Cosmic! How exciting Smile

CosmicMouse · 18/08/2011 17:00

Yup, just took that one.

Have taken a total of 4 today, all with faint, barely there lines...but this 4th one is sort of unquibbleable (if that were a word).

I'm 11DPO. I did get a clear BFP at 12DPO with DD too.

Quenelle · 18/08/2011 16:54

Oooh that's fantastic news Cosmic. That's without FMU? How many DPO are you?

CosmicMouse · 18/08/2011 16:48

I may have just got a BFP!

Ridiculously faint...but there!

Quenelle · 18/08/2011 16:47

Oh bad luck Badger Sad I did not know about the heart palpitations

RIBS I love that you got DP sausage on sex night. Very symbolic Grin Next Op KUMQUAT I may present DH with a huge salami, or a cucumber.

desperateoldie67 · 18/08/2011 16:45

Gah Badger sorry about appearance of AF. That sucks. I get bloody heart palpitations anyway, so that would be a really unreliable symptom for me to look for, as would moodiness (have bipolar), itchy skin (eczema), spots (I've had them worse in my 40s than I ever did in my teens - how unfair is that?!)!

Definitely onwards and upwards...or backwards and legs upwards :o

Getting the hopes up is a bitch, ain't it? I'm getting all sorts of weird and wonderful symptoms at the moment, but you can pretty much guarantee that next Wednesday, ,the Old Hag will arrive, right on time. I'll be crushed, obviously...

Mind you, if she doesn't, I'm going to be have a VERY interesting conversation with my new psychiatrist if he suggests any dodgy medications - and they're ALL dodgy for us mentalists! :(

YeahThatsTheBadger · 18/08/2011 16:40

Grrrr, stupid period. And it was early. It's never early. Had high hopes for this month. Plenty of SWI'ing. And some weird heart palpitations I've had for the last week. I'd been told/read something somewhere (I'm a geek and read everything!) that they can be a sign or early pregnancy due to the surge in hormones. Tried desperately not to get my hopes up, but tis not to be this month. Sad

Oh well, onwards and upwards.

DO67 I too am a scab picker! Not a spot squeezer though.

And welcome new people. Smile

desperateoldie67 · 18/08/2011 16:34

Eeeeeeeeewwwwwww RIBS :o :o :o

Can I suggest you don't open your pores whilst telling DP it's 'sex nite'? Might not be quite so sexaaaay IYSWIM LOL!

RIBS · 18/08/2011 16:26

Sometimes it just has to be done. I was wandering about with a whitehead the size of an mans ear! (not hairy tho)
I have to get face all hot and steamy (under shower or over sink) B4 giving it a good old squeeze, cant just fire it off at will.

Well now ive totally lowered the tone of this thread il be off home to open my pores!
(taking a piece of leftover flap jack and necking my cuppa tea)

Oh its sex nite tonight. Ive got DP sausage tonight - it might get him in the mood. He loves sausage tea's. Bless him.

Happy SWI'ing tonight everyone and good luck.

desperateoldie67 · 18/08/2011 16:15

Yes, but it has such an unattractive aftermath!

I'm a scab picker too. Gawd, all my gross habits are coming out of the closet now! Blush

Catsycat · 18/08/2011 16:13

Squeezing spots is such an innocent pleasure though!!!

desperateoldie67 · 18/08/2011 16:09

You can have my share loulou

I'm being all work-shy again. I've done my mailshot to patients. I have other stuff to be doing, but I just canNOT be arsed! :o

Does anyone know if being extra sweaty is a sign (I know..gross!). I never EVER have stinky armpits, and yet by around 2pm, I feel like I'm starting to hum. AND my upper chest always looks flushed. As for bad skin, mine's been like it for bloody months now, it's driving me crazy! Then again, I should probably lay off squeezing and picking them, eh?

Eurgh, I've just utterly grossed myself out. Sorry ladies!

louloubellamozzarella · 18/08/2011 15:57

Hi RIBS, god i could murder a few a packet of choc fingers.

I'm with you on the work avoidance. I've done the big bit of work that I needed to do today and there's really not much point in starting anything else since I finish soon, is there... Also with you on the bad skin. I've had a delightful breakout since returning from my holiday . Gosh I'm too cool.

RIBS · 18/08/2011 15:36

I hope so. Not very romantic tho, is it. Dont kiss me very hard honey as those 3 whiteheads may burst in your face!! Theres a lot of light off action.

Catsycat · 18/08/2011 15:29

Thanks RIBS! I'm sure the spots are a good sign (hormones and all that)!!!!

RIBS · 18/08/2011 15:14

Fingers crossed for you catsy that AF does not turn up and you get a BFP in another few days. Your body is a marvellous thing - when it works and behaves!!

Im hoping it was a bit of implantation Quenelle, or even a lot of it. I do think it may be wishful thinking on my part tho, symptom spotting like crazy. After 6 months its driving me insane. Am checking boobs and nips every 10 mins to see if they're getting bigger. (I wish). Dont feel like AF is coming anytime soon tho, despite the spots (like a bloody 13 yr old at mo - no idea whats going on with my face) Grrr.

Catsycat · 18/08/2011 14:52

negative, obviously.

Catsycat · 18/08/2011 14:51

Hi Quenelle. Yes, it was pretty frustrating! I have a 23 day cycle, so AF was due on Sunday. I am never, never more than one day late. I think I am 13 DPO now. I used to have a 28 day cycle, before DD1 (who is 4 in a couple of weeks). I wonder if the ERPC could have "reset" my cycle to 28 days????? But even that wouldn't explain the + tests! Not feeling hopeful, as even if there was a pg lurking there somewhere, surely the negsative tests would indicate it wasn't doing so well....

desperateoldie67 · 18/08/2011 14:44

I. am. not. pregnant! LOL! There's nothing quite like denial to keep you going through the 2WW. I'm just trying desperately not to count my chickens...or should that be eggs?

I really do think I'm going quickly crazy though Confused

Quenelle · 18/08/2011 14:38

Thanks DO67. I feel positively youthful next to your oldness Wink But 40 is apparently the new 20. Or something.

Catsycat what's all that about? I would be very frustrated after a visit like that with the GP. For a start it's not accurate to say a +ve wouldn't show up until 14 DPO, plenty of people get BFPs before. How many DPO are you now? Is AF actually late?

Hi RIBS your 'tickle' sounds intriguing, do you mean like there might be some implantation going on?

RIBS · 18/08/2011 14:30

I heard the worse you feel the stronger the pregnancy is. I felt like crap last time so worked for me.
People that feel well and look great during pregnancy should be outlawed. Its not fair on everyone else who looks/feels like death. Im not jealous at all.... Envy

desperateoldie67 · 18/08/2011 14:30

Not sure Catsy. Just telling myself there's no way I'm pregnant...to try and reduce disappointment levels if I'm not. Then again, as Mr. D and I have been having a very trying few weeks relationship-wise, then maybe NOT being would be best. However, I'm feeling quite bolshy at the minute, so if he doesn't like it, he can jolly well bugger off! (After which I shall dissolve into a snotty ball and wonder how the hell I'm going to feel happy ever again)...

OK...maybe feeling a bit hormonal! :o

Catsycat · 18/08/2011 14:16

Thanks desperate. Just so confused. But as to your feeling sick - isn't that a good sign?

Hi RIBS, glad to have you on board our yacht / bus / camper van / big baby zeppelin!!! Good luck for your voyage!

desperateoldie67 · 18/08/2011 14:07

Hi RIBS

Cup of tea would be lovely...may pass on the chocolate fingers as am feeling sick again - always after I sodding well eat - it's putting me off the whole idea of eating at the minute.

Am supposed to be working - I have a letter to send out to 300 prospective trial volunteers, but I can't be arsed and MN is much more fun! :)
