Let's make some May babies

The end of July is drawing near; SWI with DP hasn't been as frequent as hoped; and I've decided to err on the side of caution.

So. Here's a thread for anyone else hoping to make a beautiful May 2012 baby.

I am 27 and TTC #1. Been on pill for an age so unsure of cycles. Only been trying for a couple of weeks - the more I type the more I note my wild optimism!!

Anyone else who knows more about this business than I do? Please come and give me some hope that a May baby might be at all possible :)

Well, having spent my 5 days or so sulking and eating whole boxes of golden grahams waterskiing off the back, my legs are tired, so I'm coming for a sit in the sun with a cup of tea.
Everyone's been so busy!

Congrats CosmicMouse! Really pleased for you, honest. EnvyEnvy
Hello to all newcomers, glad to have you on board.
I too have had more than my fair share of mirror-based projectile spots. Bane of my mother's existence for a good few years... :)

Well, I'm full-on going for it this time. I've got my OPOAS, my thermometer, pre-seed on its way, tanked up on pregnacare conception and an angled mirror on a stick for downstairs inspectifying. There's no way it can possibly go wrong this time!

DH is off this weekend, god knows when I'll ovulate, so I'm testing from today (CD5) so I don't miss anything, and we'll be SWI every other day or 3 days or whatever- frankly whenever we get the opportunity!

It's my first wedding anniversary next Thursday too! there's a few of us relatively-freshly-married ones on here. I agree, a BFP would be a lovely first present (although I don't see what it's got to do with paper, unless you count the POAS, lol).

Off to charge the shaver- I'm going to sexify myself for tonight. Wa-hey!

louloubellamozzarella · 19/08/2011 09:32

Nice stats updating, mama5 - I'm still firmly in the 'waiting for a sign, any sign' camp. Oh well, here's to the weekend Wine

Love the name, mrsgrump -I think that's an accurate reflection of my state of mind this week Grin

Happy wedding anniversaries/preg celebrations/honeymoons/weekends everyone. I've got a busy one so will catch up with the news on Monday.

Excellent news CosmicMouse! :)

YeahThatsTheBadger · 19/08/2011 08:16

Congratulations cosmic! What lovely news to start the day with!

MrsGrumpWantsABump · 19/08/2011 08:14

Ooh, lots of love (and spot picking) on this thread, I'm liking it. Can I join? I may not conceive straight away as DH has recently had a VR and we need to get a SA done to get a green light to SW plenty of I, but there's no harm in trying, is there? Wink I'm charting to make sure that after we get the good news (have to stay positive!) we know exactly what we're doing.

Kveta, we have our first wedding anniversary on Sunday as well. Will be having plenty of Wine as OV isn't 'forecasted' (got to love Fertility Friend) until the following week.

MrsGrumpWantsABump TTC#1 AF due 12th Sep

CosmicMouse · 19/08/2011 08:14

Thanks everyone! BFP confirmed by digi test this morning Grin

desperateoldie67 · 19/08/2011 06:17

Thanks chicken. But I'm desperately trying to tell myself I'm not pregnant - not that I don't want to be, just that the disappointment is going to be crushing if I'm not. Mind you, given the current state of my relationship with DP, it could open up a whole can of worms if I am...stress is bad for relationships! :(

Happy reading :) xWink

Tibbycat · 18/08/2011 21:25

I've not clocked in for 24 hours and there's so much I've missed! Loving the chat.

Someone once said to me 'love is.....squeezing a spot on your loved ones body' lol! It's always stuck with me.

Today I OV. I'm 99% sure as I can always feel it and looking back at my diaries, its bang on schedule. We've been at it every night for the last 8 days so fingers crossed.

I too read everything I can get my hands on and ttc is no exception. Anyway, today I stumbled across a wonderful website which lists potential symptoms and the timings. I'll pop on the next post above (or will lose my post on the iPhone).

Catsycat · 18/08/2011 21:18

No... the one I referred to at the campsite was about 23 years ago, and still a fond memory... at the time it made me lol!!!

puzzletree · 18/08/2011 20:49

Ooh those projectile yellow spots are the best! Haven't had one in a while

Catsycat · 18/08/2011 19:27

Maybe we could try spot squeezing at dawn in lieu of an actual fight?

Have you ever had one pop out so far it hits the mirror, BTW? Happened to me in a French campsite once and made a big smear on the mirror when I tried to wipe it off Grin. I have had to slow down the picking and squeezing of spots and scabs, as it turned out I really did have a minor skin condition and had to see a dermatologist!!!!

Enjoy googling and symptom spotting, everyone!

desperateoldie67 · 18/08/2011 18:22

I'm already there loulou - on the googling etc. Everytime I think I have a symptom, it buggers off, turns into something else, and then comes back a day or two later, just to start me off again!

If we're going to go all Jerry Springer, there ought to be a fight really, oughtn't there? Not that I'm offering to start one - I'm quite peaceable really (except on Wednesday when I was calling everyone 'higher up' the organisation than me a c**t, obviously!) :o

louloubellamozzarella · 18/08/2011 18:19

Mm, mm, loving the spot chat that's been going on ladies Grin

I am so bad with leaving the blighters, esp if painful/prominent - they get squeezed to death as soon as poss. I'm a dermatologist's worst nightmare.

Sorry to hear this cycle's been disappointing badger. Wishing you luck for next time - stick with us!

Congrats cosmic!! Woweee great news.

Bad news, good news; it's all starting to come through - but at least it's news, I guess, so we can all start to feel like we're making some kinda progress (gosh I feel like I'm writing the 'summing up' part of Jerry Springer).

On the other hand I have nothing new to report. For the next week, you'll be able to find me mostly eating (indian takeout tonight - yum) and prodding my boobs/googling innocent twinges for signs of upduffness. Join me anyone? :)

OP posts:
puzzletree · 18/08/2011 17:27

Woohoo Cosmic how exciting! What would your due date be?
Sorry Badger, hope this next cycle is the lucky one for you.
RIBS I'm spotty too at the moment, my whole chin was throbbing the other day, I can still feel something lurking deep down under the skin there but luckily it seems to be going down rather than emerging, it would be a whopper if it did!
I'm going to be rubbish with symptom spotting as for me pregnancy symptoms are normally pretty similar to pre-AF symptoms. With my first two I had some achey cramps and was convinced AF was coming, and it was only when it didn't that I tested and got my BFPs. This last pregnancy (the miscarriage) I was really bloated for a week or so before AF was due, which was a bit weird, but other than that just felt normal. More symptoms like metallic taste came soon after though each time.
This time regardless of symptoms I doubt I'll be able to wait til AF is due now I'm armed with my cheapy preg tests! Feels like ages til I can justify testing though....

Catsycat · 18/08/2011 17:16

Oh well done cosmic, that's lovely news.

Sorry about AF (the old witch) badger.

RIBS, there's nothing like a nice scab. DH was terrified of me when he had chicken pox - I even gave one of them a name! Enjoy your sausage dinner, and your - ahem - sausage dessert!!!!!

pinkapples · 18/08/2011 17:15

Well another opk for me hmmm cd 15 now so will see may ovulate in te ext couple of days SWI every other day just in case progesterone test next week so that will tell me for sure whether it happened hmmm... I wonder... Congrats cosmic x

Quenelle · 18/08/2011 17:12

Congratulations Cosmic

Hi Kveta. Very promising signs there. Well done waiting until Sunday. That would be a lovely first anniversary present.

Kveta · 18/08/2011 17:08

hiya, I'm anxiously symptom spotting now. feeling very wibbly and nauseous, which is very reminiscent of last pregnancy. not testing until sunday though, as period not due until next week, and sunday is our wedding anniversary (1st one!). we shall see.

congrats cosmic mouse!!
