The end of July is drawing near; SWI with DP hasn't been as frequent as hoped; and I've decided to err on the side of caution.

So. Here's a thread for anyone else hoping to make a beautiful May 2012 baby.

I am 27 and TTC #1. Been on pill for an age so unsure of cycles. Only been trying for a couple of weeks - the more I type the more I note my wild optimism!!

Anyone else who knows more about this business than I do? Please come and give me some hope that a May baby might be at all possible :)

Well I'm absent for hardly any time at all and it's all happening here!

cosmic WELL DONE! So happy for you and jealous

Nice to see you back rusulka you sound so positive and "go-get-'em" it's fantastic!

Sounds like we have a few POAS sessions coming up to look forward to, a few ladies with suspicious symptoms! fingers crossed.

I'm on CD11 and just started yesterday peeing on the OPK stick (negative) so will keep doing that everyday. Although we're already SWI obviously but more to check I suppose!

DH away for a long weekend and back Sunday night, when I WILL pounce on him and demand fertilisation!

desperateoldie67 · 19/08/2011 13:52

Ooooh how exciting Kveta! Congratulations! Fingers crossed for you this time xx

I keep nearly throwing up...waves of bloody nausea. But then I just spoke to my friend's son on the phone and he's been feeling on and off nausea since yesterday evening. But then as my friend here at work pointed out, I've been feeling like that since last Sunday! Bugger. I don't like feeling sick. It turns me into a moany old bag! :(

My upset tummy may be related to the food I've eaten for dinner the last two nights - roast pork dipped in mustard with a side order of pickled beetroot on Wednesday and spicy couscous and half a tin of chilli kidney beans last night! Mmmmmm LMAO! :o

Kveta · 19/08/2011 13:38

oh, and desperate olide - i never suffered the constipation stuff last time, was most def at the other end of the spectrum... so it may be a +ve sign :o

Kveta · 19/08/2011 13:37

well, I have all the willpower of a dog in a butcher's shop, so POAS this am. and got a BTBSP! (that's 'barely there but still positive' :o) it's still a bit early to test, but the line was very definitely there (DH checked too!) - so will be POABOS next week if all goes well to check exactly how far along I am.

and am now on the folic acid etc and able to ascribe my nausea to something real :o DH is strutting about looking proud which is nice :o

now just 10-12 weeks of paranoia every time I go to the toilet, if last time is anything to go by...

desperateoldie67 · 19/08/2011 13:33

Well I just had to take a wander round the office because walking took the edge off the feelings of nausea. However, I then needed to go into the loo and there was a smell...and I nearly threw up, and now that I'm thinking about it, I'm nearly throwing up again!

I always feel sick after I've eaten. Surely that's an arse-about-face way of it? I've been having what have felt like AF cramps since 8DPO too. What's the betting AF turns up at the weekend?!

mildertduck · 19/08/2011 13:20

Oooh ooh ooh I wanna be like yoo-oo-ou and I had some very weird feelings in my lower abdomen last night while I was lying in bed reading. Can't really explain then but if normally cramps are sort of wide and tall, these were short and narrow. Hmmm.

Catsycat there's a GP at my practice who will tell you every time 'it's probably a virus'. I swear, you could wander in with your leg hanging off and he'd say it was because of a virus. I avoid him at all costs...

desperateoldie67 · 19/08/2011 13:15

I know what you mean milder. Mine has beardage too, so it stops somewhere under his jawline...then starts again somewhere below his collarbones and then pretty much meanders its hairy way all over the rest of his body! It's fine, I've got used to it now, but it was a bit "WTF, that itches!!!" to start with :o

I'm there with you with the nausea...but my stomach is unfortunately veering much nearer to the 'shits' end of the spectrum rather than the 'constipated' end which you're supposed to be at if you're up the duff.

I'm staying with a friend (as long as she doesn't blow me out) this weekend and I'm going to take a stick to pee on on Sunday morning if AF still hasn't showed up. She's not due until Tuesday, but she's been feeling like she's going to turn up since last Saturday, and as I'm confused, I thought I'd add to my confusion and distress still further by POAS! I'll never learn!

Catsycat · 19/08/2011 13:12

Glad you're feeling positive Astro. Broccoli sandwiches for tea then!

DO67 well my normal GP is back next week (yay!) - I shall just see him in future Grin!

mildertduck · 19/08/2011 13:10

My husband doesn't so much have a happy trail as a happy motorway... fortunately I am very fond of his follicular prowess.

Eee, congratulations Cosmic! Great news! I'd cheer louder but I run the very real risk of throwing up at my desk if I open my mouth too much. Last two or three days, like clockwork, at lunchtime, I feel very very bleurgh. I would like to think this is A Good Sign(tm) but I'm only 5 dpo (or is it 6?) and I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

desperateoldie67 · 19/08/2011 12:59

Aw crap Astro, Vitamin D too? I'll be feckin' rattling! Confused

desperateoldie67 · 19/08/2011 12:58

Bwahahaha...sorry about that Catsy. Well actually, not really...cos it's quite funny and I'm quite evil :o

Catsycat · 19/08/2011 12:54

GTR, highlight the list, copy and paste it into a new message and then just insert yourself into date order of AF. HTH!

DH and I very amused by all your thoughts on my GP. I can never see her again now, as that is all I will be able to think about!!!!!

AstroNess · 19/08/2011 12:43

Congratulations Cosmic!

I thought you might like this radio programme. Here's the blurb:

Could adult health be determined by our environment and nutrition in the first thousand days of life, or even many years earlier? Dr Mark Porter investigates. Part 1: In the Womb.

www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0137z06/The_First_1000_Days_A_Legacy_for_Life_In_the_Womb/

Very interesting.

Am I actually pleased that AF has started to show today. I knew we hadn't tried hard enough this month so, I just want to get it over with and crack on with next month's attempt! And continue to enjoy lots of tea, chocolate and wine in the process.

Don't forget to get you vitamin D ladies. It's not just the folic acid that's recommended these days.

GTR2882 · 19/08/2011 12:40

mama5isalive erm, maybe a ridiculously silly question, but how do I add myself!?? Blush

desperateoldie67 · 19/08/2011 11:55

LMFAO!!! Perhaps you could talk to my DP about gardening around his man bits...drives me nuts! I've threatened to give him plaits, thus making his friend (and, let's face it, mine) look like Pocohontas! Still no trimmage though...I'm going to get the wax strips out if he ain't careful. And while I'm at it, I'll do his chest, belly and legs! He's very beautiful, but he ain't half hairy!

On the subject of Folic Acid, given my manic depression, I take more than 4000mg each day - I shit you not! Shock

Rusulka · 19/08/2011 11:38

Catsycat I think we should all come round and just POYGP, lol.
What nonsense. As you said, all those tests can't be wrong.
Something is occurring... and it should definitely go on your notes!

puzzletree I was kinda joking about the mirror on the stick. But I do have one in my tool drawer, soooooo...

DO67 when DH comes home and sees I am sexificated, then he shall have to do some gardening of his own before he's allowed anywhere near my beautifully coiffured downstairs. (for beautifully coiffured read bald- I always was a bit too impatient with the strimmer).

Just realised I've got about 300% of my RDA for folic acid out of that whole box of golden grahams, whoops. In addition to the pregnacare conception, I must just have the stuff swilling around down there...

Quenelle · 19/08/2011 11:24

Loving the thought of dumping piss-soaked sticks in GP's lap Grin

Quenelle · 19/08/2011 11:22

Oh Tibby I meant to say, have you seen the big thread of early pg symptoms on babyandbump.com? Here

You'll have to wade through pages of baby dust and BDing I'm afraid.

Here's my entry from when I was pg with DS:

0dpo - slight pink cm and soreness in ovaries.
6-8dpo - woke up in night with heartburn.
7dpo - pink cm once on TP (sorry TMI). BBs hurt but differently to PMS, more swollen and heavy feeling.
8dpo - pink cm after bm (sorry again)
9-14dpo - woke up every night with heartburn, stuffy nose and sensitive teeth. Felt incredibly hungry at times during the day but didn't fancy food. BBs still hurt, and I think I can see veins that weren't there before.
14-18dpo - heartburn subsided but still woke up every night with stuffy nose and sensitive teeth. Still extreme hunger during day. BBs still hurt, veins definitely starting to appear.
19dpo - BFP with CB Digi.

desperateoldie67 · 19/08/2011 11:21

Bollocks! I was just half way through a long and v. entertaining (although you only have my word for that) post...gist of which was:

I aim to please Catsy :)

I agree with Quenelle - I think your BFPs sound pretty convincing too. I then went into another rant about your GP and how you should save up all the tests you've done, make an appointment and then dump them on the daft bint's lap!

And I suppose I probably shouldn't mention the temp dip I had at around 8DPO, should I, cos you'll only go and read something into that too :-P

Stuff a load of biscuits down yer gob before you feel the need to say something! :o

puzzletree · 19/08/2011 11:20

yay again Cosmic!
ooh Catsy what is going on with you?? sounds suspiciously BFP, a line is a line after all. really hope all the spotting is the infamous implantation bleeding.
Quenelle you seem to be getting all the symptoms, fingers crossed...
Rusulka glad you're back in action, the angled mirror comment did make me smile :), or are you serious? enjoy all the SWI and good luck!
nowt happening here, just waiting around, have had a girly morning with my boys, painting toenails :D they never let me do mine without demanding theirs done too. I suspect they will grow out of this...§

Catsycat · 19/08/2011 11:20

Hi Quenelle, as I said to DO67 you know what I'm thinking about your metallic taste and other symptoms. Admiring your resolve at holding off on POAS - I have no such inner strength I'm afraid!!!!!

Thanks for your confidence in my + tests! I just wish they were a bit stronger so I could really believe in them fully IYSWIM - they don't seem to be getting any darker. Have emailed the Dukan Diet website to ask if the diet could be diluting my wee - have I no shame???!!!! Blush

Catsycat · 19/08/2011 11:13

Thanks DO67, that really made me laugh!!!! Grin

I'm saying nothing about your barfiness and cramps... you know what I'm thinking though!!! :)

Quenelle · 19/08/2011 11:12

Two things:

  1. I still have a metallic taste, even though the only supplement I've taken since Tuesday is folic acid.

  2. DH has been following me around this morning sniffing me and going Hmm. Last time I was pg he noticed that I smelled different around 10DPO. I did point out that he might be imagining pg symptoms as much as I am though.

I still have the boobage thing and groinall ishoos but can still put them down to PMT/running.

Aaaanyhoo, CosmicMouse congratulations on your digi confirmation this morning. You are well and truly upduffed Smile

Catsycat I had brown spotting and stomach cramps around AF time last time I was pg, your BFPs sound pretty convincing to me. The temp dip and spotting on Monday sound about right timing for implantation.

Welcome back on board Rusulka you sound like a woman with a plan. It's good to have a plan Smile

Happy anniversary/honeymoon/weekend to everyone.

desperateoldie67 · 19/08/2011 11:08

Go twat your GP and tell the silly bint that all the PTs you've done can't be wrong!!! Hope it stays sticky Catsy.

Thanks for making me smile Rusulka - Sexifying yourself! Maybe I ought to try that, I've got really lax lately - Poor Mr. Desperate! :o

Pass us the golden grahams...feeling a bit barf-tastic!

Af isn't due until Tuesday but I've been cramping since last weekend...I just want to know because this is driving me nuts. I don't usually have cramps until AF starts. I quite often have no indication I'm going to start until it actually happens, so all this cramping is most peculiar.

Catsycat · 19/08/2011 10:55

Glad you're back with a vengeance Rusulka! Go you!!!! :)

Well, Day 29 of my 23 day cycle.... my temp was back up to normal post-ov levels today, so the only real dip was on Monday (the day I had the spotting). Had two more faint + this morning, on two different brands of test. Very faint but still there and visible to DH, and still defying the GPs insistance on "a faulty batch of tests".... Had some more spotting just now (brown this time, for a bit of variety). Still no idea what is going to happen, but fearing the worst. Feel a bit crampy still, so am sure AF is going to turn up on her broomstick soon :( . Just wish this could be resolved one way or another, as it is really messing with my head!

Good luck to the SWIers, and hello to the newbies!
