Just found out you are pregnant after a previous miscarriage and too nervous to move over the to pregnancy boards? Freaking out about spotting, cramping, symptoms (or lack there of) and nervously awaiting your first scan? Here is a lovely place for lot's of support, hand holding and problem sharing.

Courtesy of owlbooty here are the Ten Commandments of the Freak Out Room.

  1. Thou shalt check thy knickers to the point of insanity until the baby actually arrives.
  2. Thou shalt also check the loo roll post-wipeage (sorry, gross, I know)
  3. Thou shalt bore thy physician and midwife to tears with the mentalling.
  4. And thy husband/boyfriend/family/neighbour's cat.
  5. Thou shalt obsess over the absence of symptoms.
  6. And the presence of symptoms.
  7. And the fluctuation of symptoms.
  8. Thou shalt pee on a vast number of sticks and keep ClearBlue and First Response in business.
  9. The day before any scan extreme mentalling is permitted without recourse to the Haddock.
10. Self-diagnosis with Dr Google is Forbidden.

The Haddock will be applied liberally to all transgressors.

Welcome Limeflower. This thread is great for support when you need it the most.

Hooray digi! That's lovely news. So glad the scan went well.

I thought that 13 + 1 was the start of the 2nd trimester, but to be honest, I've read different books and magazines that give different opinions, I've seen 12+1 quoted too.

LimeFlower · 21/09/2011 17:18

googie, when are you going to the doc?went to the pharmacy yesterday, was told to not to take anything except cough med.Stuffed myself with hot drinks, ate packet of pringles(cravings already?)and try not to worry too much.

LimeFlower · 21/09/2011 17:15

Thanks for the warm welcomeSmile
I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow.I know that it's nothing but it was such a loooong way to get where I am and there's even longer one awaiting.Hopefully with good outcome and uneventful(for all of us).

googietheegg · 21/09/2011 16:45

limeflower I could have practically written your post! I'm just BFP with number one too after having a mmc three months ago, and I have a stinking cold too! I'm now about 6 weeks and haven't been to the doctor or told anyone other than my DH. It's such a strange time as I want to be excited but also want to be prepared...it was so grim last time that I don't really know how to feel. I don't have any symptoms really either, just boobs a little heavy sometimes and one sick burp yesterday!

notnow so sorry for your shitty news. How are you feeling today?

digi well done you!

moomin sounds positive!

God this is all such a rollercoaster isn't it!

Biscuitsandtea · 21/09/2011 15:49

Hello LimeFlower - congrats on your BFP Smile

It's such a nerve wracking time when you've unfortunately experienced a m/c before. It takes all the 'innocent' excitement out of it doesn't it. I'm due at the end of march with no 2 but still can't face the 'due in march' threads so I do know what you mean I think. I lurk and read them but never posted on them Blush

We'll be here to hold your hand though and I'm keeping everything crossed that this is a sticky one for you. Oh, and that your cold buggers off soon too!

LimeFlower · 21/09/2011 15:37

Thanks, kat,I can't help that I got this "magic" number 35 etched in my head.I don't know the doc I'm going to see on Monday, they might tell me it's still too early to come(as it happened the last time),but if anything goes wrong again(hopefully not)I want them to have it in my notes.

Just read May antenatal, there's another girl with stinking cold.

kat2504 · 21/09/2011 15:11

Hello limeflower and many congratulations on your bfp. I bet there are a few others on the other side of 35 too on here so worry not.

LimeFlower · 21/09/2011 15:09

ladies of course

LimeFlower · 21/09/2011 15:07

Hello,girls,can I introduce myself?
Long time lurker ttc no.1,got my BFP on Sunday, that's my 2nd one(the 1st one ended at 6 weeks in Feb 2010).Took me quite a while to recover from the shock and get another positive test.

I've just had my 35th bday so I'm on the wrong side of 35.Sitting at home today with stinking cold(sod's law that it appeared NOW) hoping that this time it's going to be fine.No pg symptoms except sore boobs(on and off).Booked the doc's app for Monday, see how it goes this time.

Looking at the other threads in conception I know I should be thrilled but I'm trying not to get too excited.Of course I'm hoping that this one will stick for a bit longer.

Judging from MN calculator my EDD is 24th of May.There's a few laydies on May antenatal.I'm too freaked out to join them(yet).

hairylights · 21/09/2011 14:19

shellshock7 · 21/09/2011 13:37

So sorry to hear your news notnow, hope you are being looked after in RL

digi that's great news, what a relief for you Smile

FYI My book has the second trimester starting on 12+1???

digitalgirl · 21/09/2011 13:16

god, so I've got aaaaaaaaages to go till I'm out of the first trimester! My next big milestone will be the dating/NT scan (3 weeks away). If that comes out ok I think I might officially announce at work - and let my mum tell the rest of the family.

She spent a bit longer on my scan today, showing me the baby's head and the little stumpy arms and legs. I couldn't see the hb flickering at first then when I spotted it I realised its because it was going like the clappers. Not just blinking but flickering like a flourescent bulb. And so pleased that the measurements caught up...last weds it was only 9+1 and today 10+3.

So I got my graduation pack from St Mary's which consists of some charity lit, a pot for a sample of the baby's umbelical cord (!) and a questionnaire to complete after 'delivery'. Which just seems ridiculously far away.

LAF also wondering about a doppler.

LAF77 · 21/09/2011 12:48

biscuits my mw said that it begins when you have completed 13 weeks.

It's hard because I've "graduated" now and don't have another scan for 6 weeks and see the mw every month. I look a bit more preggo, but don't necessarily feel preggo. I may have felt some movements or it could just be gas!

Perhaps I need a Doppler to see me through the next few weeks.

stitchinline · 21/09/2011 12:14

Brilliant news digi so pleased for you.

Biscuitsandtea · 21/09/2011 12:03

Sorry LAF am being thick - does that mean 13+1 or 14+1 is second trimester? I don't think I'm second tri yet but am 13+1 today which is a third of the way pretty much so might not be officially there but still a milestone Smile

LAF77 · 21/09/2011 11:45

Yes, 14 weeks is the start of the first trimester officially.

kat2504 · 21/09/2011 11:02

Oh I thought 12 weeks was the start of the second trimester and I only had 8 days left to go :(
Never mind!

Congrats on getting there laff that is a massive milestone :)

Biscuitsandtea · 21/09/2011 10:55

Yay Digi! Smile

And yay LAF for the second trimester! Is that the start of week 14?

LAF77 · 21/09/2011 10:46

So happy for you digi

I am officially in the second trimester today. I never thought I'd see the day.

kat2504 · 21/09/2011 10:41

Fantastic news :) That makes you pretty much safe now surely? I bet it looks like a baby now rather than a bean too! How exciting. I can't wait to see mine again and I still have blimmin 12 days to go.

Velvetcu · 21/09/2011 10:39

Yay Digi fab news

digitalgirl · 21/09/2011 10:39

Grin 10+3, baby moving and hb flickering away!!! Tears of relief again.

stitchinline · 21/09/2011 10:00

kat2504 · 21/09/2011 09:41
